Germany tell residents to prepare for nuclear emergencies

The head of the country's radiation protection office says the Ukraine conflict could cause a wide range of catastrophes Residents in Germany must make preparations for nuclear emergencies, the President of the Federal Office for Radiation Protection, Inge Paulini, warned on Wednesday. In an interview with Funke media group newspapers, Paulini pointed out that “radiation does not stop at the borders,” and claimed that the ongoing military conflict between Moscow and Kiev has “made it clear to the general public that we have to be and remain prepared for a wide variety of nuclear emergencies.” Russia has repeatedly insisted that it does not intend to use atomic weapons in Ukraine and has referred to its nuclear doctrine which only allows the use of such munitions in a retaliatory fashion or in the case the country is faced with an existential threat from conventional warfare. Paulini also criticized Germany's neighbors who have not phased out nuclear energy from their power grid. “On the contrary, many of our neighboring countries are planning new power plants,” she said, warning of the risks of accidents at these facilities, which could affect all of Europe. Germany in recent years has launched an initiative to wean itself off of nuclear energy, with the country's Green Party pointing to the potentially catastrophic risks associated with producing it. The nation only has three operational nuclear power plants remaining after MPs voted in November to extend their operations until April 2023 in light of the ongoing energy crisis in Europe. Meanwhile, vice president of the Bundestag and FDP member Wolfgang Kubicki has blasted the government's refusal to revise its overall approach to nuclear power plants and has warned of a potential default unless something is done to address the energy crisis. “We don't want gas and oil supplies from Russia any more, at the same time our ‘green' friends are restarting coal-fired power plants, while preventing a reasonable extension of the life of nuclear power plants,” Kubicki said earlier this week. June has arrived and with it comes the latest edition of Pride Anthems. This 9th edition is filled with original classic songs that filled dance floors at Pride parties around the world as well as some updated remixes. Dirty Disco and Swishcraft Music have been putting out some truly awesome Pride remixes over the last few years and I have used three of them for this compilation. Australian female artistes feature quite heavily in this mix with tracks from Kylie Minogue, Delta Goodrem, Dami Im and Paulini. Other standout remixes come from 7th Heaven, Division 4, Barry Harris, Dave Aude` and Almighty. This year seems to be a particularly prominent one to express Pride around the world, especially considering the conservative push to limit and silence LGBTQ+ rights in the USA. So be out and proud and live your own life. EnjoyAnthony1/ "TRUE COLOURS" (Dirty Disco Classic Tea Dance Anthem Remix) - DIRTY DISCO ft. ArTEEtude is West Cork´s first art, fashion and design podcast created and produced by Detlef Schlich. Schlich operates with his podcast cross-sectorally. For him a visual artist has to think transversely instead just enjoying the luxury of being the antagonist. To drive the narrative and to be a protagonist, he will dive and discover with us into the unknown and exciting deep ocean of the creative mind. Michael Elliott is the author of the first-ever biography of songwriting legend John Hiatt. Elliott is a contributor to the pioneering roots music authority No Depression. His music writing has also appeared in PopMatters, Albumism, Americana UK, and The Bitter Southerner. Michael spent close to thirty years in radio as operations manager, music director, program director, and disc jockey in a variety of formats. He has interviewed and produced profiles on musicians as diverse as Isaac Hayes, Charlie Daniels, Delbert McClinton, Johnny Rivers, and Little Richard. He lives in Raleigh, NC where he and his wife, Elizabeth, volunteer for the NC Reading Service, a nonprofit radio service that delivers content to the blind and visually impaired. Elliot´s biography about Hiatt is based on Elliott's multiple extensive and deeply personal interviews with Hiatt as well as his collaborators and contemporaries, including Rosanne Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Ry Cooder, and many others, Have a Little Faith is the journey through the musical landscape of the 1960s through today that places Hiatt's long career in context with the glossy pop, college-alternative, mainstream country, and heartland rock of the last half-century. A variety of artists in multiple genres have covered his songs, including Aaron Neville, B.B. King, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy, Chaka Khan, Albert Lee, Dave Edmunds, Delbert McClinton, Desert Rose Band, Emmylou Harris, Eric Clapton, Iggy Pop, I'm with Her, Jeff Healey, Jewel, Jimmy Buffett, Joan Baez, Joe Bonamassa, Joe Cocker, Keith Urban, Linda Ronstadt, Mandy Moore, Maria Muldaur, Nick Lowe, Paula Abdul, Paulini, Rodney Crowell, Rosanne Cash, Ry Cooder, Suzy Bogguss, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Searchers, Three Dog Night, Willie Nelson, Asleep at the Wheel, and Willy DeVille. "Ben Todd is a drummer, percussionist, composer and bandleader from Adelaide in South Australia. Over the past 10 years, Ben has been touring the world with the internationally acclaimed "Cirque du Soleil" as a featured drummer, percussionist and now bandleader........ Ben has performed in Japan, Russia, The United States, Spain, Canada, France, Belgium and England and performed over 1500 shows. Prior to joining Cirque, Ben performed with a wide range of artists back in Australia including Kate Cebrano, Paulini, Ben Folds, Doug Parkinson, Rhonda Burchmore, James Morrison, David Campbell, Barry Humphries and Glen Shorrok, as well as playing in the pit orchestras for a variety of musical theatre shows including the Australia/NZ tour of Cats, The Wedding Singer, Miss Saigon and Grease. Ben began playing drums at the age of 3, adding to an already large family of drummers (3 generations to be exact). His first introduction to the instrument was from his father, who was a full-time freelance musician at that time."http://www.bentodd.com.au/Latest Album https://bentodd.bandcamp.com/album/memento"It was a honour to interview Ben Todd for this podcast.  When Ben was talking about his career, first playing drums at 3 years old, coming from a family of 3 generations of drummers (maybe a 4th generation drummer on the way!), the respect he has for his dad drummer, Steve Todd, his determination over 3 years to do what inspired him at the age of 9 to join Cirque du Soleil and travel the world and achieve this.....and so much more, I couldn't help notice how humble, grateful to everyone that has helped him along the way and driven Ben was. His passion and sense of  fun for what he does for a living, playing drums/music and being apart of the industry is truely inspiring. Thank you Ben for sharing your story, so far!"Tania Ingerson Podcaster/Founder TEA The Entrepreneurial Artist PodcastI would like to acknowledge that music played on my Podcast is an original tune by David Innocente, Jazz Musician/Artist - "One Thing Led to Another"https://www.innocente.com.au/
