Kicking off "Forever Midnight Goes To Space" month, The FM3 are starting with 1996's Hellraiser: Bloodline. Jef, Josh and Brian were told that this is the episode in the franchise that they get to see Pinhead in outer space! How could they not start with this obvious masterpiece, afterall Alan Smithee directed it, what could go wrong?! So please secure the airlock and fasten your seatbelt because this episode is gonna have some space turbulence and probably some space flatulence, so make sure that you have enough oxygen to make it through the whole episode. We have such shites to show you! Enjoy earthings!
Brian and Shelly share their picks for 90s slashers including Leprechaun 4: In Space, Hellraiser: Bloodline and Scream 2

Todd, who is less familiar with the Hellraiser franchise, and Craig, who has seen more of the movies, discuss the unique elements that set this film apart from typical horror settings. We both found the film surprisingly enjoyable despite its poor initial reception. We loved its coherence, special effects, and performances, especially Doug Bradley's extensive monologuing as Priest of Hell Pinhead.
Today on the 5: One of the extras I really looked forward to in the Quartet Of Torment boxset from Arrow was a new workprint of Hellraiser: Bloodline. While I wish it was in better quality, it's undoubtedly a better version of the film compared to what was released theatrically. Best part? You can watch it for free!

PUBLIC VERSION. Writer Peter Atkins (HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II, HELLRAISER III: HELL ON EARTH, HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE, WISHMASTER) joins Adam, Joe, and Arwen to discuss his career journey… to hell and back! From a blue collar aspiring rock musician living in Liverpool to becoming one of the most pivotal artists to ever create within the great Clive Barker's sandbox and the iconic HELLRAISER franchise…this deep dive into everything Cenobite would satisfy even “Uncle Frank's” darkest desires! How did a disastrous economy wind up providing just the right opportunity for Peter at just the right time? What was Peter's writing process and creative collaboration with Clive actually like? What was actually shot for the HELLRAISER sequels and what was torn out of Peter's screenplays before cameras ever rolled? What scenes were cut in the editing process? Does Peter think that fans will ever see the rumored cutting room floor moments that fans have been whispering about on-line for decades? What was the initial reaction to such a highly sexualized and taboo genre film that arrived at a time when traditional slashers still ruled the box office? “Pinhead” fans, this conversation/geek out will “tear your soul apart” (in a good way)! Dr. Arwen provides “Hollywood Therapy” for a screenwriter who has unexpectedly found himself writing “one for them,” Adam reveals a morbid detail about his first kiss, and the boys announce the official dates for YORKIETHON VII!
One of the most disturbing and distinctive horror franchises of the 80s, Clive Barker's Hellraiser series, with its iconic figurehead Pinhead, was poised to torment moviegoers well into the 90s and beyond. Unfortunately the fourth film in the series, attributed to fictional director Alan Smithee, took the chain wielding Cenobites into space and ultimately into the dustbins of straight-to-video hell. Join Sebastian, Jennifer and Rodney in lamenting this puzzle-box mess of a movie — they have such sights to show you!
Nolan is joined by Emily von Seele, Paul Farrell, Philip Yount, and Ben McBride to discuss John Carpenter's THEY LIVE (1988) and Brian Yuzna's SOCIETY (1989). The crew dive into new discoveries, rewatches, and recent releases before uncovering a gooey conspiracy that threatens all of humanity. Adam Scott is one of the funniest screen presences of the past decade. But the road to becoming the sitcom stand-out we know and love was anything but an overnight success. ""I had friends in school who I graduated with who, from the very start, said 'oh, no, I don't want to do this or that.' Kind of turning their nose up at certain things,” Scott says. “And I was always of the mind of, 'I'm going to do anything and everything. I just want to get in front of the camera or get on stage and do anything.' And I did, for a long time."" In this episode of “In the Envelope,” Scott walks us through the highs and lows of his entire career, from early roles in movies like “Hellraiser: Bloodline,” to comedic breakouts “Party Down,” “Step Brothers,” and “Parks & Recreations,” all the way up to his dynamic dual-sided turn in Apple TV+'s “Severance.” Brought to you by UCLA's Professional Programs at the School of Theater, Film & Television. --- Backstage has been the #1 resource for actors and talent-seekers for 60 years. First slashing his way to the screen as a Bob Weinstein's assistant at Miramax Films, Richard Potter read Kevin Williamson's “Scary Movie” script one night, and insisted the film be made. He convinced Dimension Films to buy it, Wes Craven to direct it, the script was re-titled “Scream,” and the rest is horror movie history. He also developed legacy titles such as “Halloween,” “Hellraiser,” and “Highlander” into their biggest and most successful releases with “Halloween H20,” “Hellraiser: Bloodline” and “Highlander: The Final Dimension.” Other films to his name: “Scream 2,” “Mimic,” “The Crow: City of Angels,” “Nightwatch,” "Phantoms” and “Diciembres.”As an executive, Potter was Senior Vice President of Production and Development at Dimension, as well as Executive Vice President of Production and Development at Relatively Media. In this episode, he discusses The Beatles, the origin of the “Scream” franchise and why his “Night of the Animated Dead” serves as a love letter to George A. Romero's horror classic, “Night of the Living Dead.”
