In this episode, Fred interviews John, who shares multiple chilling encounters in the Alaskan outdoors that suggest the presence of Bigfoot. John's experiences span from the early 1970s to 2017, including strange vocalizations, eerie campfire encounters, and sightings of large, hairy beings. Additionally, Fred recounts a recent encounter shared by Richard and Samantha in Hope, Alaska, involving unsettling surveillance and aggressive behavior from an unknown creature. Another tale describes Brian and Derek's terrifying trip near Cordova, where they were harassed by a mysterious screaming entity. These stories contribute to the growing ledger of Bigfoot sightings and encounters in Alaska, urging listeners to stay alert when venturing into the wilderness. If you're like me, the um, standard of excellence you expect from your dog (and he from you) has devolved since opening day. That got me thinking: why can't we train our dogs during a hunt, or a hunting season? Well, you can. You may not do as much, or as frequently, but there are a ton of things you can do to help your dog stay on his "A" game during a hunt. I'll offer some suggestions. I'll also get a bunch of related observations and suggestions off my chest that might help you finish the hunting season on a high note. Simple stuff, things you haven't thought about for a while, or never knew. "Handle It" might help your dog avoid a broken toe; and we find out who does and doesn't wear eye and ear protection in the field. November is Vincent Price month, featuring the astounding body of radio work from this beloved actor. This is Thursday, and as is our inclination, we feature slightly darker tales on Thursdays, and we don't have to look far to find a great mystery/horror story starring Vincent Price. This is a story of paranoia, as two old friends take a trip to an isolated cabin in the woods, with one (played by Lloyd Nolan) convinced the other (played by Vincent Price) is going to murder him. The first story, shared by Sam, details a 1970s encounter near Fort Yukon where strange noises and eye-shines were observed during a camping trip. The second story, shared by Blake, describes an encounter during a caribou hunting trip where a massive creature was seen consuming a moose calf. Finally, Shiloh shares a more recent experience of a close encounter with a Bigfoot-like figure while berry picking, which involved unsettling behavior and subsequent investigation by the village men. These accounts highlight the mysterious and frightening nature of these elusive creatures in the Alaskan wilderness. On today's episode of the Buck Junkie Podcast, we are RAPIDLY approaching the end of October (00:07), and the rain is FINALLY making its way towards Mississippi (00:32)! Those bucks sure have been tusslin' this week and we're FIRED UP to get after them (07:53). This year our limit has gone up in Mississippi for deer, but will we actually GET that many deer (09:24)? We all know about CWD and its horrible effects, but is it REALLY as rampant as they claim it is (11:55)? A few of us are already ON THE BOARD with the season right up on the horizon (17:36). Mikey & Malcom took a trip back down to Mossy Oak this past week and had a BLAST (30:23)! They're over there spear hunting in Arkansas this year and we're a bit… skeptical (40:47).. If you get invited to go hunt on someone else's property. Should you be shooting that trophy buck or letting him go (42:01)? What exactly is the PURPOSE of taggin' your deer (51:30)? All of the accommodations down at Mossy Oak were OUT OF THIS WORLD (56:58)! Hunting properties have come a long way and it seems like there's more and more CAMPERS made just for huntin' (59:43). We've got some work to get down to here on the farm (1:02:13), but before we leave we've got a question of the week for everyone back at home (1:03:37)...
On this On the Horizon podcast episode, Derrick sits down to talk about his trip to South Africa with Colton Bagnoli, a hunting and outdoor writer.Colton talks about how he became a writer for guns and hunting, and how others can get into that field of work. With a past in building firearms, it was a simple choice for Colton to start writing about the outdoors.Colton took down a Zebra while in South Africa with our 22 Creedmoor, so he talks about that hunt and how the caliber does against a larger animal. He is constantly hunting at different places and encountering all different kinds of animals. This is a great episode for those interested in writing about hunting, how the 22 Creedmoor does against larger animals, firearm building and more!Be on the look out for more content coming up with the 22 Creedmoor pistol!#OntheHorizon #coyotehunting #thermal . . . . .On The Horizon episodes brought to you by:Horizon FirearmsTexas Ammunitioniota OutdoorsStiller22 Creedmoor Join us on InstagramJoin us on FacebookVideo version available on Horizon Firearm's YouTube Channel and Rumble Channel. After covering a lot of miles, John saw a couple really nice bucks and put himself in position to take a really nice 10 point. He still can't explain what happened, but it is quite a story as to how that buck didn't get a ride back home in the back of John's truck. John got to experience strong winds, storms, heat, and a beautiful landscape that is completely different than what he gets to hunt at home. Learn more about your ad choices. A chilling verdict has been delivered by the U.S. justice system. Lawrence Rudolph, a 68-year-old man who coldly orchestrated the murder of his wife during a hunting trip in Africa, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a federal judge. This decision serves as a stark reminder that no act, no matter how meticulously planned, can elude the long arm of the law. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Colorado made the announcement on Monday, Aug. 21. Rudolph was not only found guilty of murder but also of defrauding life insurance companies. He will serve a concurrent 20-year sentence for the latter offense. The legal repercussions didn't end there. Judge William Martinez ordered Rudolph to pay a staggering $4.9 million in restitution, an additional fine of $2 million, and a $200 special assessment. U.S. Attorney Cole Finnegan emphasized the gravity of the verdict in his statement. "This result shows that no matter how much money, prestige, or power you have, you will be held accountable for your crimes," he remarked. Rudolph's grim tale doesn't stand alone. His girlfriend, Lori Milliron, was also found entangled in this web of deceit and violence. Convicted in August 2022, she was charged with being an accessory after the fact to murder, obstruction of justice, and two counts of perjury. By June, she was handed a 17-year prison sentence. Diving deeper into the harrowing details, the U.S. Attorney's Office unveiled the chilling sequence of events that took place on Oct. 11, 2016. On the final day of their hunting trip in Zambia, Rudolph coldly "shot his wife [Bianca Rudolph] through the heart with a 12-gauge shotgun that was enclosed in a soft-shell case." The intent? To cunningly disguise the cold-blooded murder as a mere hunting mishap. In defense, Rudolph recounted a version of events wherein his wife tragically died while trying to stow away the shotgun, which he claimed had accidentally discharged. The emotional toll this crime has taken on the victim's family was palpable during the sentencing hearing. As reported by The Associated Press, Bianca Rudolph's brother addressed the convicted murderer, asserting that Rudolph would "die alone and unmourned." He further added, "Even Judas would be afraid to be in your company." The motive behind this grisly act became clearer as the prosecution shed light on Milliron's role. Lori Milliron, who maintained a professional relationship with Rudolph as a dental hygienist and manager in his office, reportedly pressured Rudolph to end his marriage with Bianca. This revelation, as disclosed by The Associated Press, further establishes the premeditated nature of the crime. As the legal chapters in this case continue to unfold, Rudolph's defense team has expressed their intention to appeal the verdict. In Conclusion: The shocking events surrounding Lawrence Rudolph's actions serve as a testament to the indomitable pursuit of justice by the U.S. legal system. No stone was left unturned as investigators, lawyers, and prosecutors worked tirelessly to uncover the truth and ensure that both Rudolph and Milliron faced the consequences of their grave actions. This case is a stark reminder that heinous acts, no matter where committed, will be sought out and punished with the full force of the law. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE?
