Hailing from an envious background in Improv from Second City, Cavanagh's journey in the entertainment industry has been nothing short of extraordinary, leaving an indelible mark on the big screen. From her unforgettable portrayal of the talented baseball player Marla Hooch in “A League of Their Own” to her uproarious performance as Broomhilde in “Robin Hood: Men in Tights.” She has also made a beloved contribution to the world of voice acting, most notably in the animated television series “Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.” In the show, she effortlessly brought life to the character of Judy Neutron, Jimmy Neutron's loving and supportive mother. Her portrayal of Judy Neutron captured the warmth, humor, and affection that endeared the character to audiences, adding another dimension to Cavanagh's diverse range of performances. What truly sets Megan apart, though, is her warm and down-to-earth personality. Despite her immense success, she remains humble, approachable, and relatable. Her genuine nature shines through every time I've had the pleasure of speaking with her, making her a fan favorite on Dystopia Tonight and an inspiration to aspiring actors and performers everywhere.

In this episode of In Search of the Crystal Skull, Arun and Patricia continue Nicktoons Movie Month with discussing about the 2001 Nickelodeon animated film Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. A 10-year-old boy named Jimmy Neutron wishes to go to the opening of a theme park, but was told by his parents he couldn't. Meanwhile, he sent a satellite made out of a toaster to try to connect with aliens for intergalactic peace. However, the aliens who received the satellite instead went to Jimmy's town and abducted all the adults. It's up to Jimmy and his friends to head over to the aliens' planet and save their parents before they are eaten by a chicken god. When the film premiered in theaters, it made over $103 million dollars in the box office it was met with mixed to positive reviews praising its CGI animation, adventure, humor, and charm. It was one of the first animated films to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Film, but lost to Shrek. The movie was so successful that it spun off into two animated series for Nickelodeon: The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius and Planet Sheen. It currently is rated at 74% at Rotten Tomatoes. What do Arun and Patricia think of the film? Listen and find out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/old-school-lane/support

In this episode of Casual Chats, Patricia and special guests Cartoonish Weeb, Rebecca, and Michael Hilliger discuss about the 2002 Nickelodeon animated series ChalkZone. The show is about a 10-year-old boy named Rudy Tabootie discovering a world made of chalk named ChalkZone after writing notes on a chalkboard when his teacher believes that he drew a cartoonish version of the school bully Reggie Bullnerd. Together with his best friend Penny Sanchez and his chalk drawing named Snap, they explore the vast world of ChalkZone and defeat various villains from the advanced technology obsessed robots, the Craniacs, to Scrawl, a drawing who believes that Rudy drew to make him look ugly on purpose. When the show premiered, it was the highest viewed premiere at the time. It was praised for its creativity, solid characters, and catchy and memorable music. However, it became overshadowed with other Nicktoons at the time such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Fairly OddParents, and The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius. Nickelodeon even mistreated the show by withholding episodes from airing until years later. Over a decade later, it became a cult classic from artists and animators on social media calling it an influence and a childhood favorite. They talk about their introductions to the show, their favorite episodes, favorite characters, favorite songs, and the legacy of the show. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/old-school-lane/support
