Our guest again this week is author and apologist Lindsey Medenwaldt, who continues to share with us insights and her personal experiences with apologetics and evangelism. The Apostle Paul tells his fellow Christians in Corinth to do all to the glory of God. What does that mean? Do we have to be a popular evangelist or a pastor or have a successful social media following to glorify God? Must we be gregarious, outgoing evangelists who have no fear of man in order to win the world to Jesus? No. In whatever situation in which God has placed us, we can do all for the glory of God. Our witness to the world is most effectively accomplished through how we live our lives, in whatever vocation that might be. Our witness should be authentic, sincere, and candid, so that a world in need of hope can see how we have a hope in Christ that does not disappoint. Lindsey Medenwaldt is the Director of Ministry Operations at Mama Bear Apologetics, and is the resident worldview and world religion specialist. She has a master's degree in apologetics and ethics from Denver Seminary, as well as a master's in public administration and a law degree. In the 12th chapter of Paul's first letter to Corinth, he reminds the church that "the body is not one member but many... the eye cannot say to the hand 'I have no need of you.'" The Spirit of God has distributed diverse gifts to the body of Christ. We each have unique gifts and abilities which we can use to help encourage and edify one another as fellow Christians. Though not all of us have the gift of evangelism, we are all called to be ready to give a defense for the hope that is in us, with gentleness and reverence. We are all included in the Great Commission. But we will each go about sharing our faith diverse and unique ways with others. Our guest this week and next is author and apologist Lindsey Medenwaldt. She shares some of her insights about apologetics and evangelism in her new book Bridge-Building Apologetics. While it's important to be uncompromising when we communicate the truth, Scripture also calls us to speak the truth with love. But in a world that seems as hostile as ever, how do we do that? How do we stand firmly in what we believe and build rock solid and loving relationships when we differ on the essentials? On things of eternal significance? Lindsey Medenwaldt, (MA, JD, MPA) author of Bridge Building Apologetics–How to Get Along Even When we Disagree-is the Director of Ministry Operations at Mama Bear Apologetics and helps us preserve relationships in a polarized culture.

Happy Wednesday! Today Lindsey Medenwaldt is joining the podcast! This is the eleventh episode in a series dedicated to special co-host, Noelle. In this episode, host Janell Wood and guest Lindsey Medenwaldt discuss how to bridge the divide between Christians and non-Christians and have meaningful conversations. They explore the importance of building relationships, being good listeners, and sharing the gospel with love and respect. Lindsey shares insights from her book, 'Bridge Building Apologetics,' and emphasizes the need for Christians to be prepared to give a defense for their faith. They also address the question of why Christians make it their job to tell others about Jesus and the importance of knowing God through Scripture and prayer. Lindsey explains why prayer is a foundational aspect of bridge building apologetics. Prayer helps calm the mind, recall information, and seek guidance in conversations. She emphasizes the importance of active prayer life and being in constant conversation with God. Towards the end of the episode, Janell introduces the next co-host (hi Lizzy!) who will be joining the podcast for conversations soon. We hope you enjoy this week's episode! Recorded on 31 August 2023 for ICMDA Webinars. Dr Peter Saunders chairs a webinar with Dr Paul Coulter. Every Christian should be eager to talk about our faith and God will often give us conversations with friends, colleagues or family members. Those conversations, rather than lectures or debates, are the primary context for apologetics – the defence of the faith. Someone asks you a question and you must decide how to respond. In 1 Peter 3 verses 13 to 16, the apostle Peter anticipates that scenario and provides timeless wisdom we can apply. In this webinar we'll discover from him the character we must develop, the importance of relationships and the values and skills that shape effective apologetic conversations. Paul began his working life in medicine before moving into cross-cultural pastoral ministry, studying theology to PhD level, and teaching practical theology. He has written three books and numerous articles on pastoral care, discipleship, leadership, apologetics, and ethics. Since 2019 he has been Head of Ministry Operations for Living Leadership, training and supporting Christian leaders across the UK and Ireland, and occasionally elsewhere in Europe. He is also Executive Director of Christianity in Society, which connects Christ with contemporary culture online and in Ireland. He lives in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, with wife Gar-Ling (a geriatrician) and two teenaged children.

The idea that medicine is an art runs from the thought of Aristotle through the Hippocratic Oath into modern times. But there is much confusion over what the art of healthcare is and how it relates to scientific knowledge. This is more than a theoretical issue – it makes a real difference to how we think of our patients, our relationships with them, the nature of health and the shape of excellent care. This webinar will consider some deficient understandings of the art of healthcare and will propose an integrative understanding that is thoroughly evidence based but more than merely scientific. Dr Paul Coulter Having worked as a junior doctor, Paul moved into pastoral ministry and studied pastoral theology to PhD level. His commitment to disciple and train Christian servants led him into lecturing in practical theology then into his current role, as Head of Ministry Operations with Living Leadership, developing a network of people helping leaders live joyfully and serve faithfully in Christ. His passion for ethics, apologetics and evangelism undergirds his voluntary role as Executive Director of the Centre for Christianity in Society, which connects Christ with contemporary culture. Paul lives in Northern Ireland with wife, Gar-Ling, and their two teenaged children.

What would you say to a skeptic who asks you to describe the differences between your faith and the faith of a Muslim or a Hindu? Would you be able to explain the basic differences between your faith and that of a Mormon or Jehovah's Witness who knocks at your door? In our ever-increasingly religiously diverse and pluralistic society, we cannot afford to ignore the ideas, beliefs, and practices surrounding us. But we also do not need to become scholars in comparative religions to be able to give a defense for the hope that is in us as Christians to those who believe differently than we do. On part two of our conversation about religious pluralism, Mama Bear Apologetics world religions specialist Lindsey Medenwaldt gives us more practical advice about how to engage with those of other faiths. Knowing what others believe and giving a defense to them of your faith in Christ is not as overwhelming as it might first seem.Lindsey Medenwaldt is Director of Ministry Operations at Mama Bear Apologetics, and she is their resident worldview and world religion specialist. Increasingly our neighborhoods, schools, workplace, and culture at large have become much more religiously and ethnically diverse. We also have instantaneous access to a plethora of information about other religions through the internet and social media. We meet all kinds of people who accept a wide variety of different beliefs and practices related to God. These present significant challenges to the exclusivity of Jesus being the only way to the Father. What is the difference between religious diversity and religious plurality? Do all paths lead to God or is there finally only one way, as Jesus proclaimed? What are we to make of the multiplicity of other religions by which we are surrounded? How do we best equip ourselves as Christians to understand the times and ideas in which we live? How do we reach out to our religious non-Christian neighbors? On the next two episodes of Apologetics Profile we offer some down-to-earth advice from a "Mama Bear" about how we can effectively engage our non-Christian religious friends and neighbors without having to become an expert in comparative religious studies! World religion specialist Lindsey Medenwaldt shares with us her wisdom and experience and offers some great insights you can begin applying immediately to your conversations with people of other faiths.Lindsey Medenwaldt is Director of Ministry Operations at Mama Bear Apologetics, and she is their resident worldview and world religion specialist. Hi, and welcome to the podcast, Free Speech Isn't Free! In today's episode, Becky has a conversation with Visalia Rescue Mission's De'Ann Reimer and Nova Torres about community work the mission does specifically to help rehabilitate the homeless. The Visalia Rescue Mission has been operating for over 40 years and has a womens' temporary housing shelter, a mens' temporary housing shelter, a women's and men's 1-year drug addiction recovery program, a thrift store, and a boutique. Their program offers hands-on job skills and training through their very successful boutique and thrift store businesses, as well as biblical discipleship, life skills such as interviewing and professional behavior, parenting classes, and trauma education. After completion of their recovery program, graduates go on to transitional housing where they practice living on their own (almost) out in the real world again with a lot of love and support. Thank you to the Director of Ministry Operations, Nova and former staff member, De'Ann for all you do to help our community and make California a better place. You are amazing, and you are loved!!! Brad and Steve talk about the 3R's of staying connected to and focused on the ministry of First Priority in America. It is important to be in Relationship with FPoA; we have 3 connection points we like to see happen annually. It is important to Report what God is doing in the club(s) so everyone can celebrate. Utilizing the FPoA Resources is the third R of the model. How crazy is it that every school day in America 59 students come to know Jesus? Very! That happens because we all work together, are intentional, and use the resources to help students reach students in their school. Give this episode a listen to hear the heart behind the 3R's. Join Pastor Travis Hall, and guest Christopher Harris as they talk about marriage, ministry, a relationship's identity, and sex. For Pastor Christopher, marriage can be hard, but with hard work – everything can work out. Aside from a couple's commitment to character development, one way for marriage to cultivate and integrate God's message is through the ministry of presence. He believes it is essential for couples to understand how to listen – not to respond – but to learn from each other. In this episode, they also tackle the topic of sex before and after marriage. Marriage Conference | Brody Holloway | Saturday Morning Marriage was made to roar as a reflection of the Gospel because it teaches us about Christ’s relationship with the Church. It’s also a wonderful platform to advance the Gospel. We can look to Scripture for good, godly examples of marriages who made it their aim to make the Gospel known throughout their lives. Today Brody looks at a power-couple in the Bible who were willing to do whatever it took to advance the Gospel. Pricilla and Aquila played a key role in the early Church and we can imitate their example. Their home became a base of operations for the advancement of the Gospel and the church. They were locally and globally-minded in all they did. Let’s follow their lead and take action in the communities that we’re placed in.ResourcesActs 18P.S.
