Roughly 1 in 4 US adults suffer from bunions and whether you knew it or not, there's actually such a thing as “National Bunion Day '' that's only a few days away. Given the time of year and the applicability to our community, I figured it'd be a good topic of conversation. For runners like us, bunions often result from the repeated stress of hitting the pavement, wearing shoes that are too tight, as well as having flat feet or over pronation to aggravate the problem. With that context in mind, I invited Dr. Brad Schaeffer, who you may know from the hit TLC show “My Feet Are Killing Me” onto the pod to talk about this issue. Dr. Schaeffer trained at the Comprehensive Foot & Ankle Reconstructive Surgical Residency Program at the Hoboken University Medical Center and is a Board Certified Foot Surgeon with the ABFAS. In this episode, we talk about the causes of bunions, the symptoms of bunions, what to keep in mind if you have them and you're running with them, how to treat them non-surgically, and some of the latest, cutting-edge procedures out there to take care of them fast with quick recovery. Feet Twins is a term used to describe two people who have identical feet. This can happen in identical twins, who share the same DNA, or in non-twin siblings who have a very rare genetic mutation. Feet Twins can have the same size, shape, and even the same number of toes. In some cases, they may even have the same foot problems. There are a few different reasons why Feet Twins might occur. In identical twins, the feet are formed from the same cells, so it is not surprising that they would be identical. In non-twin siblings, the feet may be identical due to a rare genetic mutation that affects the development of the feet. This mutation can be passed down from parent to child, or it can occur spontaneously. Feet Twins are not always easy to spot. In some cases, the only way to tell that two people have Feet Twins is to compare their feet side-by-side. However, in other cases, the similarities between the feet are more obvious. For example, Feet Twins may have the same size and shape of feet, or they may have the same number of toes. Feet Twins can be a source of curiosity and amazement. Some people find it fascinating that two people can have such similar feet, while others find it strange or even unsettling. However, there is no doubt that Feet Twins are a rare and unique phenomenon. Here are some examples of Feet Twins: Identical twin sisters Yung Fume and Fee Gonzales, who have become TikTok stars for sharing videos of their identical feet. Non-twin siblings Johnny Stimson and his sister, who both have a rare genetic mutation that causes their feet to be identical. A pair of women who appeared on the TLC show "My Feet Are Killing Me" because they both had the same foot problem. Whether they are identical twins or non-twin siblings, Feet Twins are a fascinating and rare phenomenon. They provide a unique glimpse into the power of genetics and the amazing diversity of human anatomy.

Dr. Nick Circolone will share the best methods for keeping your feet healthy and pain-free. Dr. Nick has got you covered! So don't wait any longer; learn how to keep your feet healthy with Dr. Nick Circolone's tips! Important reasons to keep your feet healthy include quality of life, productive work, and regular physical activity. Quality of life is critical. Work, shopping, and walking are just a few daily activities that make you self-sufficient. If you have foot problems or your feet hurt, you won't function at your best. Even if you have a desk job, you still need to get up occasionally. Poor foot health can impede work performance and result in lost work time. And with poor foot health, you're less likely to engage in physical activity. The result is a higher risk of diseases, such as heart disease and diabetes, reduced endurance, and loss of muscle mass. And if you already have a chronic condition like diabetes, you'll want to check with your doctor to be sure that you're doing everything possible to keep your feet healthy. Preventative foot care keeps you on your toes and helps lessen the need for foot surgery. Health Chatt, Hosted by Dr. Nicholas J. Circolone. A day in the life of a nurse can involve long hours of standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items from point A to point B, which can cause stress on our legs and feet. To avoid work-related health and feet problems, it's important that nurses take proper care of their feet. And while we're thinking about our own feet, let's not forget those of our patients. They may not come in for primary foot issues but the legs and feet can tell you a lot about your patient's health status. Do they hurt? Are they cold? Do they have numbness or tingling? Are they discolored? Are they swollen? Are the toenail beds pale, discolored, or thick? A patient's feet may give you important information you need to properly take care of your patient as a whole. In this episode Nurse Alice speaks with Dr. Ebonie is a licensed podiatrist aka foot and ankle surgeon behind the hit TLC television series “My Feet Are Killing Me.” She works with all types of foot and ankle ailments with a specialty in foot and ankle reconstruction and diabetic limb salvage.

Living our lives, looking forward, and saying “yes” can lead to ever deeper abundance, health, wealth, love, and joy. And then, sharing that abundance almost magically creates even more abundance and prosperity. My guest on this episode is Dr. Ebonie Vincent. She is a podiatrist practicing in Orange County CA. She grew up in Temecula, CA in wine country, but attended college and podiatry school on the East Coast and Midwest. Returning to Southern CA, she built a thriving private practice. She also became a TV star on the reality series “My Feet Are Killing Me” on TLC now in its third season. She shares how the producers found her from her social media posts. Her story is about the word “yes” and how accepting what life brings can bring abundance in health, wealth, love, and joy. And how sharing that abundance “magically” creates more. It's a delight to share her story and insightful look at life and prosperity with you. Recommended Books:The AlchemistLegacy of Orïsha

There's a new slate of health and medical TV shows premiering this year. Gwyneth Paltrow's Netflix show, The Goop Lab, is already causing controversy so we discuss why some doctors have a problem with it. Ryan Murphy takes a stab at recreating one of the most feared nurses, Nurse Ratched, in the scripted show Ratched. There's also some reality shows that might be too hard to watch like My Feet Are Killing Me which follows a podiatrist as she takes on fungal infections. All this and more! *GROSS ANATOMY IS NOT INTENDED TO BE A SUBSTITUTE FOR PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT.
