These special baseball jerseys have been used by MLB teams in recent years, but the Rays revealing theirs has truly turned the heads of baseball fans everywhere. The hundred-and-first episode of Hand Of Pod sees Sam and English Dan welcome Joel back from his holiday, and the three are joined by Santiago again. We're also reunited with Australian Dan, making a brief return to say hello and to resurrect Mystic Dan as a late marker of HOP's 100th edition last week. We talk about some major refereeing controversies in four different matches at the weekend, the tightening title race (the top two are now level, and third placed River Plate are just two points further back) and ask whether Boca Juniors might be gradually showing signs of life, as well as Argentina's representatives in the Copa Libertadores, the knockout stage of which began on Wednesday evening as this episode was being uploaded. In the seventy-seventh episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Dan and Joel begin life without Australian Dan with another bumper episode, during which we look at the increasing impatience towards River Plate and Racing managers Matías Almeyda and Luís Zubeldía ahead of the clásico between the two clubs this weekend. We also recount last Friday's hilarious press conference at La Bombonera in which Juan Román Riquelme led everyone a merry dance, and look back at last weekend's results, as well as considering the importance of the Superclásico de Las Américas, a friendly double-header between the domestic national sides of Argentina and Brazil (Brazil won the first leg 2-1 shortly after we recorded this episode). The fifty-sixth episode of Hand Of Pod sees Sam, Dan and Dan discussing Independiente's win over Rafaela last weekend, Racing's defeat away to Newell's Old Boys, Boca Juniors once again topping the Clausura table and more, including the extraordinary start to David Trezeguet's spell at River Plate. San Lorenzo changed managers this week (we recorded just before Ricardo Caruso Lombardi was confirmed as the new man) and Aussie Dan has a bit of a rant about clubs' lack of imagination when appointing new bosses. Paulo Dybala gets a mention again, and there are more live questions, since that was so much fun to do last week. Mystic Dan isn't trying to predict exact scorelines again, sadly.

We run the rule over another great performance for second division starlet Paulo Dybala, talk about the 'Law of The Ex', one of the Argentine football media's favourite curses, and when all appears to be heading towards a most disorganised conclusion, answer some listeners' questions tweeted DURING THE PODCAST. This is revolutionary stuff, right here. Also, Mystic Dan's being even dafter than usual this week, and has actually tried to predict exact scorelines for the eight round of the Clausura.

Racing are still rubbish, so for a change we don't spend too long on them this week. In the forty-third episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Dan, Dan and Seba begin with a look at Juan Sebastián Verón's stand against Estudiantes' barra brava, who on Monday caused their match with Banfield to be abandoned after only thirteen minutes. We then move on to talk about Boca Juniors' 0-0 draw with Racing on Sunday, a result that edges Boca a tiny bit closer to the league title, and Racing striker Teo Gutiérrez's idiocy in getting himself sent off, and the effect it's likely to have on Racing's squad for the rest of the season. Sam mentions River Plate's first ever competitive match in Patagonia (a 4-1 win away to Guillermo Brown of Puerto Madryn), we talk about San Lorenzo's woes as they change managers, and after Mystic Dan's predictions we close with a discussion of media bias towards the two giants, and especially Boca.

On the menu is a discussion of practically every team in the Primera División this season, as well as the AFA's U-turn on last week's planned expansion of the top flight to 38 teams, Alejandro Sabella's appointment as Argentina manager, the unveiling (at last!) of the Best Argentine Abroad of 2010-11 according to our listeners, and more. We discuss the two giants of Argentine football; Boca Juniors, who had another Riquelme-inspired win, and River Plate, who scored an absolutely fantastic goal which their latest wunderkid was at the heart of. As well as warning us why you should never venture to Boca's stadium without a massively overpriced tour guide, Mystic Dan is back with his predictions - place bets on four of these results this weekend, we just can't tell you which four - and Zombie, once again, is chasing his own tail. One day we'll get that on a videocast for you all.

In the eleventh episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Seba and English Dan discuss the last decade or so of Racing Club's history, and what it says about club ownership issues in Argentina. They also tackle the thorny issue of racism in the country's stadia, and talk about some of the possible reasons for Sergio Agüero being overlooked again by national team manager Sergio Batista. Aussie Dan, a.k.a. Mystic Dan, is off getting drunk in Mendoza this week, but managed to put down his wine glass for long enough to send us his predictions for the coming weekend. And Zombie is as distracting and irritating as ever.

In Episode 10 of Hand Of Pod, Sam introduces you to his new home, where he's joined by the Dans and our special studio guests Katie and Jenny (Seba couldn't make it this week). We discuss rumours that Javier Pastore might be set to move to Manchester United or Barcelona, as well as Matías Almeyda's interesting statement that River Plate are set to soon become a South American version of the latter. Aussie Dan fills us in on the first clásico at the newly-opened Estadio Único de La Plata, and there are also questions from Twitter on why Racing have suddenly improved so drastically, and whether the Argentine league is slowly 'decentralising'. And there's the usual rundown of the local action, and Mystic Dan's predictions for the weekend ahead.

In the ninth episode of Hand Of Pod, Sam, Dan, Dan and Seba talk about River Plate and Olimpo, the league leaders who are also battling against relegation. The non-Argentines also field a question on how they came to support the teams they do (and Dan and Sam provide a quick potted history of Ferro Carril Oeste, Hand Of Pod’s local club). Mystic Dan now has his own theme tune, and we use his powers to look forward to two clásicos at the end of this week, one in the Zona Sur of Greater Buenos Aires and the other down in La Plata.
