We begin the hour talking about the Yankees and the big inning they had in yesterday's blowout win. Anthony Volpe was booed in an inning his team scored nine runs. Jerry thinks the fans went too far. Willie says you can't tell fans when to boo. Jerry says he doesn't want to do that but wants fans to enjoy a blowout win and wonders if easing off Volpe can help him play better. Jerry and Willie also didn't like that red-hot Giancarlo Stanton wasn't in the lineup.
C-Lo begins by letting us know that Evan Roberts has been swept away by the magic of Nolan McLean. C-Lo has sound from a Philadelphia radio host and his rant after one of the Phillies losses to the Mets sounds a whole lot like one of Jerry's classics on this show. Cody Bellinger hit one of the Yankees 6 home runs in their 11-2 thrashing of the Nationals
We begin the hour with a call about the Yankees that leads into a discussion of hitters in modern baseball. Only five hitters have batting averages above .300. Another caller thinks most players need to start wearing glasses. Jerry thinks it's simply a change in approach.

The hour ends with talk of a heated US Open match and the hosts' athletic endeavors. Hour 2 The hour begins with a discussion about the Yankees' blowout win, specifically Anthony Volpe being booed despite the team scoring nine runs. Jerry believes fans went too far, while Willie disagrees. They also disliked Giancarlo Stanton not being in the lineup. Cody Bellinger hit one of the Yankees' 6 home runs in their 11-2 thrashing of the Nationals. C-Lo shares clips of Taylor Townsend clarifying her showdown with Jelena Ostapenko. Tom Brady can attend production meetings but not practices, which Jerry thinks won't affect his job, though Willie understands why some broadcasters like watching practice. Jordon Hudson and Bill Belichick want to trademark "gold digger." The hour concludes with Jerry recounting his night at a Lady Gaga concert, noting the presence of many gay men, and Willie's past experience in an unwelcome establishment. Jerry then asks Brian Rascona about his Ryder Cup volunteer assignment. Hour 3 The hour began with a Yankees discussion, noting only five MLB hitters bat over .300, leading to a debate on modern hitting approaches. C-Lo's update highlighted Boomer's X activity, the Mets' strong performance (especially Mark Vientos), and the Phillies' TV postgame show's praise for Nolan McLean. Howie Rose's issue at a Mets game reminded C-Lo of a Mad Dog rant. The Yankees crushed the Nationals 11-2. Dawn Staley discussed her Knicks HC interview. The final segment covered Andrew Thomas's return to Giants practice (key to their season) and Micah Parsons, with Willie expecting him to stay a Cowboy, prompting Jerry to ponder the perception of edge rushers' success against offensive linemen. The Moment of The Day features Jerry and Willie's unexpected nights at gay bars.

Welcome to another episode and as you can tell from the title, we've got quite a bit of Tom Seaver in today's episode and for good reason. Also, a whole lot of Willie Mays including a story of what both Johnny Bench and Pete Rose thought of Mays. Trust me, if you don't know how good Mays was, maybe these two can help convince of it. Tim discusses the best number 40 and 41 in the history of our game outlining why one of those players had one of the biggest homers in baseball history (hint, they are both pitchers). Speaking of the mound, Tarik Skubal is just an animal out there and shows us once again how good he is. Plus, Clayton Kershaw hasn't taken his foot off the accelerator, are we sure he's going to retire at the end of this season!Tim also makes a correction to his Team Tim of All Actor names thanks to member of the family, Jeremy Schaap. We also hear about story from Schaap's dad about putting Muhammad Ali and Tom Seaver in a room together, just a knee slapper on this one. If Bernie Williams walked out of the public eye the minute his baseball career ended, he would have more than earned a break. The guy is in Monument Park for a reason, a cornerstone of four Yankees world championship teams. But as he discusses with YES Network's Meredith Marakovits for this week's episode of the New York Yankees Official Podcast, retirement has been anything but a break for the Puerto Rico native. Williams is busy as ever working on his music, and in between showing Meredith how to strum a few chords, he discusses the similarities between pursuing baseball and musical greatness, his upcoming concert at New York's Carnegie Hall, and the work he does to spread awareness for the disease that took his father's life nearly 25 years ago. For our second segment, Yankees Magazine deputy editor Jon Schwartz joins Meredith to chat about Bernie and the other beloved Bronx Bombers who returned to the Stadium for Old-Timers' Day. Finally, Yankees senior museum curator Brian Richards opens the history books to a particularly hilarious chapter, a heist tale mixing some of the greatest Yankees ever with just a hint of espionage. In July, the New York Yankees drafted a Canadian shortstop from Wyoming, Ont., named Core Jackson. They did so despite knowing that Jackson, as a 17-year-old freshman at the University of Nebraska, had drawn a swastika on a Jewish student's dorm room while he was, he later told The Athletic, "blackout drunk." But this isn't a run-of-the-mill case of antisemitism. By all accounts, according to the Yankees' ground scouts and the recent investigation by The Athletic that ran Aug. 20, Jackson was, simply, acting like an ignorant drunk teenager, and was forthright about the incident with teams before the draft. The team did significant due diligence, engaging with New York's Jewish community and sending scouts to learn about Jackson's family and personality. The resulting story is less about the insipid rise of casual antisemitism, and more about the power of forgiveness when people—especially teenagers—make mistakes and try to do better. Keith Law, a longtime baseball journalist and former front office worker with the Toronto Blue Jays, broke this story for The Athletic. He joins us to share his impressions of Core Jackson and how the Yankees are viewing this opportunity. After that, podcast hosts Gabe and Jamie run through this year's hottest Jewish sports movies, from Happy Gilmore 2 to both Safdie brothers' award-season offerings, The Smashing Machine and Marty Supreme. Then they give a quick NFL preview and recap Zach Hyman's ceremonial opening of the new ice hockey rink at the Schwartz/Reisman Jewish Community Centre in Vaughan. Today's word of the day is ‘two' as in Cal Raleigh as in Mickey Mantle as in history as in home run race as in MVP race. Raleigh became the first catcher in MLB history to hit 50 home runs. He became the second switch-hitter to do so. Is he the MVP? Is Aaron Judge the MVP? The race is HOT! (11:30) Anthony Volpe has been bad all season. The Yankees have defended him all season. Until now. He's been benched. (21:40) Trey Hendrickson got a $14 million raise for this season from the Bengals. Why? Why would every player not hold out now? The NFLPA must love this! Teams must hate this! (30:00) The Browns traded Kenny Pickett. Now the team is down to three. Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders are on the team. (35:40) Review: Amy Bradley is Missing. (39:00) The Orioles signed a new catcher in Samuel Basallo to a longterm deal before he has played a game. Why? How do the other core players feel? Learn more about your ad choices. Munaf Manji and Griffin Warner break down MLB Tuesday betting. The latest MLB Tuesday betting preview from RJ Bell's Dream Preview podcast, hosted by Munaf Manji with Griffin Warner, sets the stage for a critical slate of late-August matchups as teams position themselves for the postseason. The episode dives deep into 14 games on the betting board, breaking down pitching matchups, recent team form, and value spots for bettors. Manji and Warner are riding an 83% hot streak on best bets, going 10–2 in their last 12, and their confidence and banter drive an engaging analysis that blends sharp betting insight with humor and strong statistical breakdowns. The show begins with Red Sox vs Orioles, where Lucas Giolito's improved form and Kyle Braddish's return from Tommy John make Boston and the over intriguing plays. The Braves vs Marlins matchup highlights Sandy Alcantara's struggles, with Warner leaning to the home underdog Marlins and the over on 7.5 runs. In Rays vs Guardians, Shane Baz's road splits and Cleveland's sputtering offense create strong value on Tampa Bay plus money. The Yankees vs Nationals discussion centers on Luis Gil's control issues and the Yankees' defensive problems, leading both analysts toward overs rather than trusting either side. Toronto vs Minnesota showcases Chris Bassett's dominant home record against Bailey Ober's brutal losing streak, making the Blue Jays run line their clear best bet of the day. The Mets remain a “fade” team, with Sean Manaea's poor record and Jesus Luzardo's strong history against New York cementing Philadelphia as the sharper side. Brewers vs Diamondbacks is pegged as a potential shootout, with Jacob Misiorowski's walk issues and Arizona's power threats pointing to an over. Royals vs White Sox highlights Chicago's lack of offense despite Martin Pérez's decent outings, pushing Kansas City as the stronger side. Other key breakdowns include Pirates vs Cardinals (leaning over), Angels vs Rangers (under 8.5 tabbed as Warner's best bet despite Corbin's volatility), and Astros vs Rockies (only playable through alternate run lines given Houston's -315 price). Padres vs Mariners positions Dylan Cease as a value underdog against a hittable Luis Castillo, while Cubs vs Giants trends under behind Matthew Boyd's road splits and Justin Verlander's home tendencies. The card wraps with Reds vs Dodgers, where Nick Martinez's inconsistency and Clayton Kershaw's diminished form suggest the over nine runs is the sharper angle. Beyond game analysis, the hosts highlight Pregame.com promotions, including a Beat Greg Shaker college football contest with $1,000 in prizes and a 20% sitewide discount using the promo code SLUGGER20. This synergy between MLB betting insights, college football contests, and broader handicapping content reinforces Pregame's role as a hub for sharp sports betting information. From an editorial perspective, the podcast succeeds by pairing statistical depth with practical wagering advice, appealing both to seasoned bettors and newer fans seeking guidance. The mix of trends, fantasy baseball angles, and promotional tie-ins keeps the content dynamic. My commentary is that the show's value lies not just in picks, but in its process: highlighting faulty lines, identifying exploitable splits, and stressing the importance of context when interpreting numbers. The betting insights are actionable, but the broader lesson is that line shopping, injury context, and market awareness are as crucial as raw stats. Late-August baseball handicapping, with best bets on Blue Jays run line and Angels vs Rangers under anchoring a comprehensive breakdown. As playoff races tighten, bettors get both sharp picks and a reminder of Pregame.com's broader offerings, making it a must-listen for anyone serious about MLB odds, betting strategies, and value plays heading into September.
