On this episode of Wild & Uncut, we sit down with the President & Founder of National Rifle League Hunter Series, Travis Ishida. Being a first generation hunter, it is easy to hear the passion he has for the sport. Being a proficient marksman and understanding what it takes to be successful in his pursuit to provide meat for his family, Travis started NRL Hunter in hopes of other hunters/shooters wanting to take their skills to the next level. Whether you're a first time competitor or it's your hundredth match, the NRL Hunter uses the excitement and stress of competition to create realistic shooting scenarios that will test the marksman and their knowledge of their equipment. The goal of "education through competition" is to help make you the most effective version of yourself; the NRL will surely do just that! NRL's mission statement: Hunting isn't merely a hobby or pastime, it is our way of life. For us, it is about community, education, and a strong foundation of ethical harvesting. It is the desire to be the most proficient hunter possible, it is this passion that has driven us to develop the NRL HUNTER series of matches. Travis is a great person and always a joy to talk with...we even took a little time to talk about the most delicious part of the hunt...the wonderful meat we harvest and bring home to enjoy all year long. Lots of great discussion, you'll enjoy it! The Wild & Uncut Podcast is brought to you by Ruger, Marlin, Safari Club International, and OnX Hunt. Travis Ishida, founder, National Rifle League is this week's guest.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
********************************************************************* PRESENTED BY: Ruger: http://ruger.com/ Nightforce Optics: http://nightforceoptics.com/ Dead Down Wind, Trophy Taker Rests, Ramcat Broadheads, Rack One & Tink's: https://www.arcushunting.com/ Safari Club International: https://safariclub.org/ Bear Archery: https://beararchery.com/ Trophy Ridge: https://trophyridge.com/category/sights onX maps: https://www.onxmaps.com/ Kifaru International: http://kifaru.net/ Kryptek: https://kryptek.com/ Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls: https://buglingbull.com/ Tetra Hearing: https://tetrahearing.com/ Wilderness Athlete: https://wildernessathlete.com/ CONTACT KRISTY Website: http://www.pursuethewild.com Pursue The Wild Store: https://pursue-the-wild.myshopify.com/ Social Media Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/KristyTitus/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kristytitus/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/KristyTitus Subscribe to Pursue The Wild with Kristy Titus https://www.youtube.com/user/PursuetheWild

On today’s episode, Johnathon Solinsky and Jose Gardner join Travis Ishida to talk about Long Range Tactics (LRT), where passion meets precision, providing real information and quality Gear Reviews, and more! Jose Gardner, Reviews Manager and Pro Staff for LRT, picked up shooting at an early age, when gifted a good ole New England Firearms 20 ga single barrel shotgun at age 5. After high school, Jose joined the Marine Corps where the wheels started spinning in his head for what it really takes to be a good shot. Upon graduation from Auburn University, Jose moved to Utah to further his education, and this is where was bit by the long range bug. Jose shot his first long range match in September of 2015 and has shot well north of 75 matches of various disciplines since. Being a research and development scientist by day, Jose’s inquisitive and curious mentality led to a natural fit for reviewing precision shooting gear. Jose has been reviewing gear since 2017 and now helps manage the efforts of Long Range Tactics to spread quality information to the masses. In addition to reviews and matches, Jose also enjoys Long range hunting as well as introducing non -shooters to the world of firearms. Johnathon Solinsky, Sr. Reviewer and Pro Staff for LRT, first started his professional shooting career when he joined the Marine Corps Infantry in Oct of 2011. Constantly pushing for higher goals, he joined the Scout Sniper Platoon in February of 2013. In August of 2014, he graduated Scout Sniper School and accomplished his most sought after life goal. In 2016 he was introduced to the competitive world of shooting with the Marine Corps Division Combat matches. During this match, he was recruited to become a permanent member of the Marine Corps shooting team. This assignment became a reality in August of 2016, and he was assigned to the Marine Corps Rifle Team. Since then, it has been an endless dive into the competition world, consisting of multiple disciplines of shooting. He continued to shoot competitions on his own after becoming a coach, with a particular interest in .22 matches. He has shot well over 30 .22 matches in the last few years with several match wins and top 3 finishes. He was also picked up by Team Vudoo as one of their shooters. Johnathon has written several reviews and articles in the last year. Passing on his knowledge to others is the cornerstone that drives his passion in the shooting sports. He believes that everyone always has more to learn, no matter how long they have been shooting. JOINING US TONIGHT: HOSTS: Rachel Jackson and Michael Kirkpatrick: JOHN BURK: FITNESS MOTIVATOR / GRUNT STYLE CLOTHING I'm a lover of a positive mindset and a can-do attitude. I stay away from negativity and all those with that type of attitude. I live my life to the fullest by pursing my dreams, and help other people do the same. Weight lifting, modeling, motivational videos. Grunt Style is a group of 91 highly motivated American veterans and patriots who love three things: PT, Freedom & Bacon. Not necessarily in that order. We design and manufacture our unique style of gear exclusively in-house during the week, so that we can spend the weekends drinking whiskey and hanging at the range, enjoying the American Dream. TRAVIS ISHIDA Hike 4 Life (501c3): A non-profit organization dedicated to preventing veteran suicide through funding and hike events to bring back a sense of camaraderie and belonging to vets in need. In September, we will hike 90+ miles to Mt.Whitney with a group of veterans for a 10 day journey.
