The Vuelta a España reaches a crucial point on Stage 18 as the race turns against the clock, with 32.1km between El Puerto de Santa María and Jerez de la Frontera. With Enric Mas starting the day in red, Felix Gall in second and Primož Roglič sitting third overall, the time trial represented a huge opportunity for the Slovenian to close the gap. Roglič had historically had the advantage over Mas against the clock, but the Spaniard had more than two minutes in hand and needed to limit his losses to keep the lead. At the front of the stage, Stefan Küng produced a huge ride to set the fastest time, holding off the challenge of the other time-trial specialists. Wout van Aert had been one of the main threats to his time but faded slightly towards the finish, leaving Küng to claim a major Vuelta victory. The real drama came further down the road as the GC riders completed their rides. Roglič put significant time into Enric Mas, but not enough to take the red jersey. Mas finished just 12th fastest on the day, losing a little over half a minute to Roglič and successfully defending his overall lead. Félix Gall dropped from second to third overall, with Roglič moving into second. We get into Küng's brilliant stage win, Roglič's attempt to take control of the GC, Mas' successful defence of the red jersey and what the time trial means for the final stages of the Vuelta. Javier Milei's privatization push is reopening Argentina's infrastructure to private capital. But turning investor interest into long-term financing hinges on credible contracts, predictable tariffs and stable foreign-exchange rules. In this first episode of a two-part series, 9fin senior credit analyst Marina Varady joins Jimena Vega Olmos, a partner at Beccar Varela, Gonzalo Santamaría, a partner at Marval, and Gustavo Kopyto, a board member at TGN, to assess opportunities across privatizations, concessions and new projects.Oil, gas and mining are top of mind for investors, with export revenues and RIGI protections helping mitigate Argentine risk. The discussion also covers AySA, road concessions and planned high-voltage transmission tenders.Kopyto draws on TGN's experience with frozen peso tariffs and dollar-linked debt to explain why respecting contracts matters. Vega Olmos outlines the return of project finance, where repayment depends on project cash flows, long-term offtake agreements and robust security packages rather than primarily on a sponsor's balance sheet. Santamaría, in turn, highlights opportunities in export-oriented oil, gas and mining projects, while emphasizing the need for regular tariff adjustments and predictable regulation to sustain public utilities. The Vaca Muerta Sur pipeline provides a financing precedent, combining sponsor equity with a bank consortium loan involving JP Morgan, Citi and Santander. The guests discuss how capital markets, sponsor support and multilateral guarantees could fund larger developments, drawing lessons from RenovAr and Genneia. They also examine why regulated utilities require stronger protections against tariff intervention, and why local participation in Transener need not signal foreign investor retreat: domestic investors can demonstrate confidence before international capital follows. Thanks for listening and watching. If you have any feedback on this episode send us a note at podcast@9fin.com. Look out for the second episode, which delves deeper into RIGI, among other things, in the near future!

With the Vuelta a España pausing for its second rest day before the final week resumes on Tuesday, Lionel Birnie and Graham Willgoss get together to recap the 2026 men's Tour of Britain.Five days of racing took the peloton from Lincoln, famous for hosting one of the greatest single-day races on the British calendar, to the Borders of Scotland. We also discuss two riders at opposite ends of their career – Ben Swift, who completed the Tour of Britain in his 18th and final season as a professional rider, and Ben Wiggins, who is aiming for a pro contract and raced very aggressively on the final day to secure a place in the overall top ten for the young Great Britain team. Graham talks to Wiggins, son of the 2013 Tour of Britain champion, Bradley, about his week on the road and aim for the upcoming World Championships, where he will ride the under-23 time trial.
