We had the pleasure of interviewing Author modern Draoí – a practitioner and priest of native Irish magic and spirituality, Lora O'Brien! This is both a powerful conversation around cultural appropriation and the power in listening to native voices, but also a magical one filled with tales of deities and fairies. We can't wait for you to check it out! And be sure you head over and check out what else Lora is doing. Its all truly incredible! More about Lora and her work: Lora is an Author, Teacher, and Guide: born and raised in Ireland, with 25+ years personal and professional experience in our history, heritage, archaeology, mythology, and pre-christian Irish Spirituality. Book publications include - Irish Witchcraft from an Irish Witch, 2004 (2nd Edition, 2020); A Practical Guide to Irish Spirituality, 2013; Rathcroghan - a Journey, 2015; Tales of Old Ireland - Retold, 2018; Harp, Club & Cauldron - A Harvest of Knowledge [editor, essay], 2018; Politics, Kinship and Culture in Gaelic Ireland [essay], (Wordwell) 2018; A Practical Guide to Pagan Priesthood, (Llewellyn) 2019; and The Irish Queen Medb, 2020. She is a modern Draoí – a practitioner and priest of native Irish magic and spirituality. Lora has been consciously following a Pagan path since 1994, and dedicated specifically to the Irish Goddess Mórrígan in 2004. She managed one of Ireland's most important sacred sites - Cruachán/Rathcroghan - for a decade, and is a co-founder and Reverend legal celebrant with Pagan Life Rites Ireland. With her partner, Jon O'Sullivan (An Scéalaí Beag), she runs EelandOtterPress.net, and the IrishPaganSchool.com - an online learning environment where you can connect to the heritage, culture and spirituality of Ireland in an authentic and meaningful way, every day. Lora has three children, one grandchild… but never enough plants in her life to keep her happy. Though she’s not really one for a lot of responses to personal private messages - consider that your fair warning - you can find her in the comments section on her YouTube Channel content a couple of times a week, sending regular Irish Resources emails to her busy mailing list at LoraOBrien.ie, engaging with her Patron Members at Patreon.com/LoraOBrien, and personally moderating some very active community groups over on Facebook: The Morrigan’s Cave, Learn Ogham, Journeys in the Irish Otherworld, and the Irish Pagan School Community. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com In this episode, we discuss long distance street motorcycle riding and everything that surrounds it. Long distance riding is such a broad subject, so Squid and I keep it narrowly focused on our experiences over the years and what works and what doesn't work. Squid and I have both tested a bunch of street motorcycle riding gear over time. Some of it worked and other gear now sits on a shelf in a pile of "what did not work so well." SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We talk motorcycle riding gear such as jackets, pants, helmets, gloves, riding shoes, and heated gear. We also discuss other emergency roadside repair items we carry or have personally used.  For the most part, neither Squid nor I use leather anymore. Yes, we used to ride with leather as we knew no better. Then we started discovering all the progressive motorcycle riding gear that is lighter, waterproof, heated, and actually provides more protection than leather for our type of riding. If you still ride with all leather, then more power to you. Ride on! CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com I'm excited to announce that on March 11, 2020, at 6:15 pm (PST) the Law Abiding Biker YouTube Channel hit 100k subscribers! I knew it was getting close, so I pulled up a website that counts YouTube channel, real-time subscribers. But the catch is that the counter only turns at intervals of 100. That means the channel hit 99,900 and I had no idea when it'd actually turn 100k. I was recording a quick video with my computer screen in the background hoping I could capture it and I did! At the very moment it turned 100k, I was recording. I posted a quick video of that and my excitement and posted it on our Facebook Page and Twitter at the time. I will follow up with a proper YouTube video when I receive our 100k subscriber award from YouTube.  Just days after, on March 16, 2013, we celebrated our 7 year Law Abiding Biker Podcast anniversary. Yup, our 1st podcast episode we ever released was on March 16, 2013, and we've been going strong ever since.  SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE I feel this is a big achievement because I have watched so many podcasts and YouTube channels come and go over the years. That's because it takes a ton of hard work and dedication to keep going year after year. It's a true grind and you have to remain passionate to keep creating content long term. There are no guides for this sort of thing and you learn as you go.  You have to be willing to change things and try new things. Most of all, you must have a passion for what your true missions is. For us here at Law Abiding Biker Media it's easy. We want to help as many bikers as we can worldwide using media to educate, entertain, and build a trusted online biker community. And, to promote & sell quality trusted motorcycle related products online, backed with great customer support. CHECK OUT OUR HUNDREDS OF FREE HELPFUL VIDEOS ON OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE! Official website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com This episode is all about the unsanctioned, I say that jokingly, Patron Ride & Meetup Event occurring in Tennessee on June 22 of 2019! That's just four days after the Official Sanctioned 2019 Law Abiding Biker Patron Meetup (Episode #194) in Salt Lake City, Utah! For the finer details of these events, you need to be a Patron Member of Law Abiding Biker Media and be in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group, which is a troll free zone. If you've been on the fence about signing up, make no mistake about it, we've got some awesome things in going on for our Patron members and you'll want to be a part of it here in 2019.  Get signed up and become a Patron Member now! Don't forget the Official 2019 Sanctioned Law Abiding™ Biker Media ride and dinner in the greater Salt Lake City, Utah area! (Podcast Episode #194) This unsanctioned Patron Ride & Meetup in Tennessee will be Patrons meeting and riding with other Patrons over and around the east coast area of the U.S., We here at Law Abiding Biker Media will not be present for this event. I'm super excited that the Patron Member community in the Private Member Only Facebook Group is taking it upon themselves to meet each other and schedule events like this! I never dreamed this sort of thing would occur when I started Law Abiding Biker™ nearly 6 years ago! That Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group is the best community of motorcycle enthusiasts around & you're missing out if you're not in there. It is the best troll free motorcycle forum in the world and it's all about bikers helping bikers inside with courtesy and respect for each other. It is completely searchable and you can find topics of all kinds related to motorcycles. It has collected quite a database of topics over the years as you can imagine. If you can't find a specific topic or discussion in search, just post the question and bikers from around the world with all different experience levels will gladly assist you and/or guide you with their expertise. Many of the Law Abiding Biker™ Media east coast Patron Members can't make it west across the United States to our yearly sanctioned rides and meetups & we understand that. We are unable at this time to really travel on our motorcycles any further east for meetups and events because we here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media are all still working our other full-time paying jobs. When some of us retire at some point from those paying jobs and have more time off, we hope to be able to reach out further and get further east and even outside of the country for events. A special thanks to Patron Member Russell Roberts of Tennessee, who is spearheading this unsanctioned Patron Meetup in June 2019. I have him on the mic via a Facetime call for this episode and we dive in deeper so I can learn about this event & share the details with you. Russell has an awesome ride plan set up for the day to include the famous "Tail of the Dragon" and I am so jealous I can't go. He also rented a very cool and secluded house with a private back yard to end the ride at. Once there and after the day ride, Russell has a BBQ dinner planned for everyone! You must get ahold of Russell Roberts in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group and RSVP to the Unsanctioned Ride & Meetup in Tennesee on June 19, 2019. Only those that do so will get the proper information and be allowed to attend. Deadline to get signed up is June 1, 2019. Note: Russell Roberts is paying for all this out of his own pocket at this point. At the dinner portion of the event, there will be a hat, so bring some cash and help Russell Roberts offset the personal cost he has invested to make this happen for everyone. He is doing this because he cares about the Law Abiding Biker community and wants to help further the #BikerRevolution! Again, for the finer details of both these 2019 events, you need to be a Patron Member of Law Abiding Biker Media and be in the Private Patron Member Only Motorcycle Facebook Group. Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com This is part 2 of a two-part series is all about our 2018  midwest motorcycle trip. In June 2018, members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media along with members of the Sworn Few LEMC embarked on a 10 day 4500 mile 12 state cross-country motorcycle trip. This trip would take us out of Washington State and into Idaho, Oregon, Utah, Wyoming, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico & Colorado. We stayed over in cities such as Twin Falls, Idaho, Cheyenne, Wyoming, Papillion, Nebraska, Kansas City, Amarillo, Texas, Gallup, New Mexico, Grand Junction, Colorado & Boise, Idaho.  In the middle of our midwest motorcycle trip, we met up with our beloved Patron Members in Papillion, Nebraska for an entire day. Our Patron Members support us financially, so we can help as many bikes as we can worldwide. Of course, our Patron Members get benefits and exclusive access such as meetups like this.  The local Patrons had an awesome day planned for a very large group. We all met up in the morning and they took us on a beautiful day ride, which included a stop for lunch. We all had plenty of time to visit and get to know each other on a more personal level. We ended the day at a private location where the Patron Members and their friends and family had a feast prepared for everyone!  We visited many places and saw a ton of great country on our midwest motorcycle trip. We stayed at some good and not so good hotels and motels. We ate at some good restaurants and some bad ones.  We experienced good and bad weather and a few of the bikes experienced some mechanical problems that had to be fixed. We had some very funny times as a group and made memories that will last a lifetime. Everything that happened shaped the trip in some way.  Listen in as we tell all the stories of this Mid-West motorcycle trip. We also share tips and tricks to assist riders who may be thinking of an extended road trip.  New Free Video Mentioned: Bates Taser Motorcycle Riding Boots & Shoes-Biker Review Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE! Official Website: https://www.lawabidingbiker.com We talk about the new and completed Law Abiding Biker Shop & Studio in this episode! We are mostly moved into the new facility and this was our first official broadcast from it. This was a live Patron Member only live video broadcast. We had a lot of fun live chatting with our beloved Patron Members.  We just want to thank everyone that helped make the new shop and studio a reality through our fundraiser campaign, Patron member pledges, donations, shopping in our store, and buying our premium videos. The support has been awesome and we could not have done it without the support of the law abiding biker community.  SUPPORT US AND SHOP IN THE OFFICIAL LAW ABIDING BIKER STORE We talk about some of the things that got scaled back due to available funds that we can hopefully later complete. Overall, we got most of the main things done for the new facility and we are happy to be podcasting and filming out of it. We have air conditioning in the main studio that can run while podcasting! No more sweatshop!  We have space in the shop to actually move around and film! My wife got her garage back and my daughter's got their bonus room back. They have all selflessly given those up for the past 5 years as they support our mission to help as many bikers as we can worldwide. Lurch and Big Daddy also recently built new personal shops. We do a roundtable discussion and talk about things you should consider when building a new shop and what the different options are. We all did things a bit different, so you should get some good insight. You only get one shot when investing in and building a new shop, so make sure you put some thought into it.  2018 Patron Meetup and Ride Details: As usual, the meetup and ride this year will be for Patron Members only. We will give some general details publicly here, but to get all the details to include times and locations, you'll have to communicate with us directly. This can be done in the private Patron Only Facebook Group. We are compiling a list of each member that plans to attend. We'll be in touch with you and give the full details as the date approaches.  The one day event will take place on June 24, 2018 and we'll meet at a location near Papillion, Nebraska. We'll meet in the morning and do a planned day ride together. Then we'll ride to a location in the Omaha, Nebraska area for a social event and provided dinner.  The day ride will be about  3 hours saddle time and include a lunch and fuel stop.  This should give you a good idea on the event, so you can decide if you will be able to attend. We must know of your attendance no later than May 31, 2018, for planning and cost purposes. After that date, the list will close and no further sign-ups or attendance will be accepted.  New Free Video Mentioned:  Video-How to Install & Wire Ciro 3D Fang LED Headlight Bezel on Harley Batwing Fairing Sponsor-Ciro 3D CLICK HERE! A bunch of the guys here at Law Abiding Biker™ Media saddled up and made the trip. We had a great time with our friend's to the north. If you are going to take a motorcycle trip to Canada then you'll definitely want to listen in. We have some great information and some very funny stories to share with you. We were Live on our YouTube channel for this episode and had some great conversations. We give you all the details and the debacles that are bound to happen on a long road trip!   We share some of the best roads to ride on your motorcycle in Canda. We rode BC and Alberta and rode very specific planned routes. You'll definitely want to note the routes we took. We had a couple ferry crossings and border crossings.    We can't say enough about our Patron members in Canada. They welcomed us and showed us some real hospitality. We even had Patron Members ride up from the States and into Canada to be part of this large meet-up. Wow, we went on a great day ride with the Patrons. They even had Patron Ride 2017  T-shirts made up for everyone! We finished the day off at Patron member John Patton's home where we had a back yard BBQ, drank cold beer, and everyone had time to make connections and get to know each other better. We were broadcasting live and had many Patron Members in the live chat and we appreciate that. It was a very interactive.   We have been working hard to get all the final details of our June 2017 6-day motorcycle trip to Canada worked out. We announce all the final details of our trip. We discuss the Private Patron Member Only meet up that is going to take place while we are in Canada. Lawdog and several Patron members in Canada have been instrumental in the organization of the meet-up/ride.   Note: We use Harley-Davidson Ride Planner to plan all our out of town trips. We then upload our planned trips into my Boom Box Infotainment System! Check out our awesome tutorial videos on both.   You'll want to listen in if you are a Patron member or planning to become a Patron member prior to our June 2017 Canada motorcycle trip as there are things you need to do to be involved. There are T-shirts being made for the event too! Much of the planning has also taken place in the Patron Member Only Private Facebook Group.   Contact must be made with us for organizations purposes if you want to join the event. It's the only way you'll find out the official meetup times and locations and other crucial details.   On the day we meet with Patron Members in Canada, we will start it with a very cool motorcycle day ride that has been planned. We will end the day at a private Patron Member's residence for dinner and social event. We simply can't wait to hang out and ride!   More of the actual ride route and places we are visiting while in Canada are revealed in this episode.   Sponsor-Ciro 3D   Innovative products for Harley-Davidson Affordable chrome, lighting, and comfort products.  Ciro 3D has a passion for design and innovation   New Patrons:   Lawrence Recla of Orangeville, PA Jason Despain of Crestview, Florida Bern Dapkevich of Cary, NC Micheal Kelly of Brunswick, OH Roger Walsh of Wichita, KS James Patton of Monroeville, PA   If you appreciate the content we put out and want to make sure it keeps on coming your way then become a Patron too! Official Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-Lurch and I spent all day in the Law Abiding Biker™ garage starting another Harley-Davidson handlebar install project on a 2016 Dyna Low Rider S. Fresh out of the garage, we break it down for you and give you some must know information, so listen in. We also had Lawdog "LD" in the studio with an update on our upcoming 2017 Canada motorcycle trip where we will be meeting up with Patron Members of Law Abiding Biker™.  We are installing 12" Westcoast MX T-bars on the Dyna Low Rider S & internally wiring them! We lifted this baby up with our beloved TITAN SDML-1000D-XLT MOTORCYCLE LIFT TABLE!  Lurch and I broke the Harley down and we're filming the entire project for you as usual. We will eventually add this video to our very popular collection of Harley-Davidson handlebar install videos! Check out the Official Law Abiding Biker Store!  There is not much information out right now in catalogs and online on the Dyna Low Rider S, as it was a special production bike. So, we broke it down and measured the stock clutch cable and front upper brake line. We figured out how much over stock length we'd need to go to accommodate these 12" T-bars. Armed with proper cable/line lengths, we ordered up what we'd need and had the shipping expedited, so we can put the bike back together and finish the project.  Sponsor-Patch Addict Use Coupon Code: LAB15 Get 15% Off Free Shipping on orders over $25  New Patrons: Kevin Thrash of Diamondhead Mississippi Terry Williams of Swanton, Ohio Gary Zillyette of Rock Island, ILLINOIS Cory Ryan of Everett, WA Darren Knight of Landsborough, Austrailia Brian Allen of Pevely, Missouri  If you appreciate the content we put out and want to make sure it keeps on coming your way then become a Patron too! Many of you know him and see him post in the Private Patron Only Facebook Group!  Russell is a professional truck driver and when he learned he had to make a drop in Seattle, WA, he gave us a shout. He had to come 2 hrs and 15 minutes east across the Cascade Mountains to visit us in the Yakima, WA area. We love to meet up with our Patron Members when we can. Get hooked up now as a Patron Member because you never know where we'll be next!  I had met Russell at our Patron Member only meet up in Sturgis in 2015, so it was good to see him again.  In true Law Abiding Biker style, we took Russell on a day ride to the Brick Saloon in Roslyn, WA where we ate lunch and talked. Oscar, Cuz, Lurch, and Indian John all made the day ride and got to hang with and get to know Russell. We came back and Russell got a full tour of the Law Abiding Biker™ garage and media studio. Russell, LawDog, and I then fired the studio gear up and spit two podcast episodes, this being the first. The second podcast was all about GoPro and action cams on your motorcycle, so check that one out. Russell is an awesome photographer and we share a passion for technology, so he was the perfect fit. As for LawDog, well.........he asked alot of good questions. Listen in and get to know Russell. We talk about everything biker and you'll find Russell has some great stories. Official Website: http://www.lawabidingbiker.com Podcast-There are so many things to think about before heading out for a long motorcycle trip.  It is important to pack key items, but not too many unnecessary items. And so, it becomes a delicate balance.  We all know how limited space can be when traveling on a motorcycle. That is also one of the reasons we love it so much. Pack what you can fit on your bike and ride into the sunset! Free your mind and soul!   This episode is spawned from an internet voicemail we received from audience member David Schwartz from Isreal. He is planning a long motorcycle ride here in the United States very soon and wanted to know what to pack. He wanted our thoughts, experience, and insight into packing for motorcycle trips and that's exactly what we give everyone in this podcast episode.   David Schwartz of Israel also mentioned how pleased he was with our Harley oil change and maintenance video. He has saved a ton of money doing his own oil changes and routine maintenance.   Harley Routine Maintenance & Oil Change Tutorial Video We dive deep into this topic and it will make you think for sure. You might even refine what you pack yourself. This episode was also a live broadcast and we had much input via audience participation over on our Live Page. We appreciate all the Patron Members of Law Abiding Biker™ Media in the live chat.   Being prepared for that long motorcycle trip is very important. We here at LAB Media have changed things throughout the years of riding from both good and bad experiences and we share it all with you. Not being properly prepared can make a trip miserable and take the fun out of it. What are you packing for your next motorcycle trip?
