It's been 100 days since Donald Trump was sworn in as US President. His campaign was filled with promises of dramatic change, and he's certainly followed through, with a record-breaking number of orders filed in the first three months. The most dramatic of which is his sweeping global tariffs. Quest Means Business host Richard Quest told Mike Hosking it goes against the orthodoxy of economics that has always been taught – that tariffs can be a benefit if targeted and used for a specific purpose. He says using widespread tariffs to reshape global trading structures has not been done before, but it's something Trump has always wanted to do. Quest believes with the tariff headwinds pushing against the global economy, major economies are facing recessions, and the slowdown in economic growth will feel pretty awful for people as the year continues. A flurry of newsworthy events are circling the Western world today, from President Trump's plan to tariff the globe into US-friendly submission, to the horrific Washington DC air crash that claimed 67 American lives. The fallout from both stories is being viewed somewhat as a treatise on Trump's policies. Will being economically aggressive get the results Donald wants? Did a lack of meritocracy and insidious DEI lead to the collision of the military helicopter and the passenger plane? The answers to these questions will matter very much to the American public that just elected a new president. So for a proper analysis, Piers Morgan speaks to founder of The Young Turks Cenk Uygur, co-host of Steve Bannon's War Room Natalie Winters, CNN anchor and aviation correspondent Richard Quest and candidate for DNC chair Marianne Williamson. Then, Piers turns to American businessman and UFC CEO Dana White for a constructive conversation on MMA, his close friendship with Trump and the 'Broligarchy'. The host of ‘Quest Means Business', Richard Quest consistently at the top of the game when it comes to analysing the global economy, international business and tourism. New Zealand's not the only country having issues in this sphere, and Quest joined Mike Hosking to give his insight into the seething geopolitical ocean. When it comes to the global economy in the wake of the 2020 Covid pandemic, Quest believes we're just about fine. “Some countries will grow more than others, but you know, the fact that we have proven we can get rid of inflation?” In Quest's opinion, the biggest concerns have to be the war in Ukraine, the expansion of the war in the Middle East, the conflict in the Taiwan Straits, and the conflicts with China. “Those have the serious potential to just completely, literally, blow us out of the water.” LISTEN ABOVE See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Piers Morgan Uncensored is joined by aviation expert Richard Quest to analyse the tragic story of a Singapore-bound Boeing 777 aeroplane that encountered turbulence leaving a British pensioner dead from a heart attack and others critically injured. Richard explains to Piers Morgan that this incident is actually a small part of a larger pattern, telling him "Boeing has a big problem" when it comes to safety. Piers pushes Richard, who claims that while there are systemic issues with Boeing, he worries more about pilot training than the technology itself.Richard then turns the questioning around to Piers, asking him what he makes of Rishi Sunak announcing a snap general election in the UK for July 4th. This episode attempts to answer the question… “Are airlines putting dangerous planes into the sky?” Recently, a Boeing 737 Max 9 had a door plug blow out at 16,000 feet, creating a gaping hole that sucked out, among other things…the shirt off the back of a startled teenager. Really, no Really! That incident (along with a few others) reminded us of that Netflix documentary exposing the egregious decline of Boeing, a once great American manufacturer. 2023 was considered a travel nightmare for many and 2024 looks to be no better with shortages of air traffic controllers, pilots, and planes. To enlighten us about the current state of air travel, Jason and Peter invited CNN's, always entertaining - aviation expert and correspondent- Richard Quest. Richard has interviewed every major airline executive and covered the crashes of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, and the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370. Richard breaks down why Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 & Lion Air Flight 610 went down and what's changed. Why airlines outsource critical maintenance overseas. Those who have been enjoying expat life in Portugal know about the wonderful things that this country has to offer. But my question would be: is too much mainstream media attention going to ruin it for the people who have already decided to make a life in Portugal? I'm not saying that I have the answer to that... but I do take issue with the picture that was painted by this article on CNN Travel about Portugal. Some of the simplest sentiments that were written in this piece are things that I personally find quite shocking that they could even say about Portugal and the lack of credit that they give to the Portuguese is something I find appalling... The Portuguese people deserve credit for the beauty and success and attraction of their own country. In this expat living abroad podcast episode of Not Your Average Globetrotter we'll go over a recent article posted to CNN travel called "The European capital of cool that keeps getting cooler" by Richard Quest and Joe Minihane.

Based in New York, he is one of the most instantly recognizable members of the CNN team. Additionally, Quest is the host of two of CNN International's signature monthly feature programs: Business Traveller, which covers global business travel trends, issues and innovations of the travel industry, and Quest's World of Wonder, an immersive travel series that finds Quest exploring a new destination each month and meeting fascinating people who reveal the heart of the city. Quest is also the face of CNN's coverage of major UK events. He led CNN's coverage of the 'Brexit' vote in 2016, and has continued to report on the impact the historic vote is making on markets, economies and businesses. He used his expert knowledge of the British Royal Family to front the channel's coverage of the 2018 marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle; the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012 live from the banks of the River Thames; and the 2011 marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton, now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. His coverage of breaking news, which has spanned more than two decades, has seen him report on a range of stories from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the death of Yasser Arafat, the Lockerbie Pan Am 103 crash to the death of Michael Jackson. Quest is more than just business; there are few journalists who have had guests as varied, from His Holiness, The Dalai Lama to actress Joan Collins to founder of Playboy Magazine, Hugh Hefner. The United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) awarded Quest the 2013 UNWTO Award for Lifetime Achievement in recognition of his work as a business journalist reporting on the tourism industry.
