Thephotoluminescent road markings will be initially tested for six months on thehairpin turn on Bulli Pass due to a spike in near-miss accidents between 9pm and4am. The N.S.W. Government said around 125 near accidents had been reportedalong Bulli Pass in the 12 months to June 30 and the glow in the dark linemarkings located part way down the pass will increase awareness of the sharpbend. Around a third of fatal crashes in N.S.W. happen at night and the RoadsMinister suggests if the trial is successful, it will be used on other black spotareas. Surely an excellent initiative. Fire Safety Tips - Week Two Proper fire prevention strategies can significantly protect lives and property in warehouses and factories. Focusing on critical areas such as waste management and housekeeping is crucial to maintaining a safe working environment. Here are a few tips to get you started: Use appropriate trash containers Opt for metal containers with "flame-tamer" heads throughout the warehouse If using plastic containers, limit their size and empty each one after every shift Handle oily rags with care Never store or dispose of oily rags in regular warehouse trash containers Use special metal containers with lids or externally air-dry the rags outside the building Maintain a clean and organized workspace Regularly dispose of combustible materials and debris Keep aisles, exits, and fire extinguishers clear and easily accessible Train employees on fire prevention protocols Educate workers on the importance of proper waste disposal and housekeeping Conduct regular fire drills and ensure everyone knows their roles and responsibilities Conduct regular inspections and audits Identify and address potential fire hazards promptly Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and local fire codes As always, follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. By implementing these fire prevention strategies and fostering a safety culture, you can significantly reduce the risk of fires in your warehouse or factory.  Remember, every employee plays a vital role in maintaining a safe working environment. Neglecting proper precautions can lead to devastating consequences, including property damage, injuries, and even death. Here are four tips to get you started: Know your fire hazards Understand the specific fire risks in your warehouse Be aware of dangers from chemicals, flammable materials, and more Understand Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Access and read SDS for all warehouse materials Learn proper handling, storage, and emergency procedures Conduct regular training and drills Train all employees in fire safety procedures Hold regular fire drills to keep everyone prepared Maintain proper storage and housekeeping Store hazardous materials according to guidelines Keep your warehouse clean and organized to reduce fire risks Remember, fire safety is not just a task for a few but a shared responsibility for all. By following these tips and staying vigilant, you are keeping yourself and your colleagues safe. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Vehicle Safety Tips Have you ever rented a vehicle? What's the first and last thing you do? Walk around to check for issues. This check ensures you're not responsible for any problems or damages a driver before you caused and the same for the person after you. Also, regarding your vehicle, you are likely (Or should be) paying attention to the indicators it provides. Those indicators tell us things related to fuel, oil, tires, and the engine, to name a few. Keeping safety at the forefront of our minds, we need to have the same concerns for the vehicles we operate at work. By understanding the importance of OSHA compliance and creating an environment where we and the people we work with feel protected - we'll be well on our way to staying safe while operating vehicles.   Here are five strategies focusing on vehicle maintenance and inspections to get you started: Implement a Strict Maintenance Schedule: Regularly maintaining powered industrial trucks is essential for safety. Establish a schedule exceeding OSHA's minimum requirements to prevent breakdowns and keep equipment running optimally. Mandate Pre and Post-Shift Inspections: Inspect every industrial vehicle thoroughly before and after each shift. These inspections identify potential problems early, mitigating accidents. Standardize Inspection Checklists: Create detailed checklists outlining critical vehicle components. Have operators sign off on inspections to ensure accountability and prevent steps from being missed. Modernize with Technology: Consider electronic inspection systems using vehicle transmitters or inspector wearables. These technologies streamline the process and improve data accuracy. Immediate Issue Resolution: When problems arise, it's of the utmost importance that the vehicle remain unused until after all issues have been addressed and fixed. A well-maintained fleet is a safe fleet. As with ALL our tips, please follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. Remember, safety is everyone's responsibility. Adopting these practices ensures OSHA compliance and builds a proactive safety culture. A safe workplace is a productive and positive workplace. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Protecting Workers Around Industrial Trucks Factories and warehouses are a hive of activity where powered industrial trucks (like forklifts) and pedestrians must coexist. Unfortunately, this interaction carries risks. It's vital to follow and implement the rules and guidelines for a safer working environment. Here are 5 steps to get started: 1. Define and Mark Clear Travel Paths Designate specific lanes for powered industrial truck traffic. Use highly visible floor marking tape (such as Mighty Line®) to clearly delineate these paths, guiding both operators and pedestrians. Whenever possible, separate pedestrian and vehicle traffic to reduce potential collisions. 2. Protect High-Traffic Areas with Barriers Install physical barriers or guardrails where pedestrians frequent, particularly around entrances, exits, and walkways. This creates a crucial buffer between people and moving vehicles. 3. Emphasize Safety Training Provide regular, comprehensive safety training for powered industrial truck operators and pedestrians. Topics should include vehicle operation, pedestrian rights-of-way, and how to interact safely within the facility. Frequent reinforcement builds a robust and safety-focused workplace culture. 4. Use Clear Signage and Markings Bold signs indicating forklift activity, dedicated pedestrian zones, and well-marked emergency exits are essential. Durable floor markings help ensure long-lasting visibility and compliance with OSHA standards. 5. Conduct Regular Safety Meetings Hold frequent safety meetings to discuss hazards, incident reviews, and safety procedure updates. This collaborative approach encourages continuous improvement for all employees. As with ALL our tips, please follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. Employers in factory and warehouse settings are responsible for minimizing the risks posed by powered industrial trucks. Adhering to OSHA guidelines and implementing these strategies protects workers, ensures a safer environment, and facilitates a smooth, productive operation.  Thank you for being part of another episode of Warehouse Safety Tips. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Safety Tips For Powered Industrial Trucks Operating powered industrial trucks, commonly known as forklifts, in factories and warehouses, requires adherence to specific safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) sets guidelines emphasizing the importance of proper training, load handling, and equipment maintenance. Here are five tips to assist with compliance of OSHA standards: Proper Load Handling and Stability Securely fasten all loads before movement, avoiding overloading to maintain the truck's stability. Be mindful of the load's center of gravity and use load-backrest extensions to prevent the load from shifting. Always be aware of the truck's lift and extension limitations to avoid tipping. Training and Certification for Operators Ensure that all operators receive comprehensive training and certification on the safe operation of powered industrial trucks. This includes understanding how to handle loads properly, navigate the workplace safely, and recognize the operational limitations of their equipment. Maintaining Clear Visibility and Using Signaling Devices Operators must maintain a clear line of sight in the direction of travel and use mirrors or spotters if the load obstructs their view. Use horns, lights, and other signaling devices to alert pedestrians and other vehicle operators of the forklift's presence, especially at blind spots and intersections within the facility. Speed Control and Safe Operation Practices Adhere to safe speed limits, considering the type of load, the operating environment, and pedestrian traffic. Continuously operate the truck at a speed that allows for secure stopping and control. Avoid abrupt maneuvers that can lead to loss of load or tipping. Special Considerations for Handling Flammable Liquids If the operation involves handling flammable liquids, ensure the lift trucks are correctly classified and equipped for such materials. Specialized lift trucks designed for handling flammable substances should be used to prevent ignition sources in potentially explosive environments. By implementing these safety tips and ensuring strict adherence to OSHA guidelines, factories and warehouses can significantly reduce the risk of accidents and injuries related to powered industrial trucks. These guidelines and tips aim to create a safer working environment for everyone involved in operating powered industrial trucks. They promote not only compliance with regulations but also a culture of safety within the workplace. As with ALL our tips, please follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. Before anyone operates a forklift, staff must undergo training that encompasses safe operation, load handling, hazard recognition, and the specific requirements of the equipment as outlined in the manufacturer's manual. OSHA-mandated certification should follow, and regular re-evaluations (every three years) ensure operators remain proficient and safety-conscious. 2. Emphasize Operator Responsibility with "Licenses" Issuing operator "licenses" after successful training underscores the importance of qualifications. These visible reminders are quick references for operators and supervisors, reinforcing their responsibilities. 3. Stay Ahead of Regulatory Changes OSHA's forklift safety regulations evolve. Stay proactive by keeping abreast of updates and adjusting workplace safety policies accordingly. Keeping abreast of all changes and additions ensures compliance and demonstrates your organization's commitment to a safe work environment. 4. Create a Culture of Continuous Safety Treat safety as a continuous learning process. Encourage open communication among operators about potential hazards, experiences, and feedback on safety procedures. Incorporate regular safety meetings and refresher training to keep safety top-of-mind for everyone involved. As with ALL our tips, please follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Footwear And Fall Protection In the industrial sectors of factories and warehouses, ensuring the safety and well-being of employees should ALWAYS be top of mind. Adherence to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) guidelines helps maintain a secure working environment and boosts productivity and morale among workers. Keeping with the topic of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) there are 2 areas Safety Managers need to focus on: footwear and fall protection. Here are five tips that align with OSHA's guidelines to mitigate risks and protect workers. Number One:  Conduct Thorough Hazard Assessments for Footwear Requirements Every workplace is unique, making site-specific safety footwear essential. Conduct a comprehensive hazard assessment to identify potential risks, such as falling objects, sharp objects, or electrical hazards, and determine the appropriate type of footwear required for safety. This approach ensures that the chosen footwear provides the necessary protection against the identified risks, aligning with OSHA's emphasis on tailored safety solutions. Number Two:  Implement Comprehensive Fall Protection Plans Recognizing the many risks associated with working at elevations, OSHA mandates that anyone working above 4 feet must be provided with and use fall protection equipment. This includes maintenance workers, not just those on "man-up" lifts or retrieving elevated loads. A comprehensive fall protection plan must detail the proper equipment, machinery, and training for all employees potentially exposed to elevated risks, ensuring a holistic approach to fall safety. Number Three:  Invest in Quality Safety Footwear Given the crucial role of footwear in preventing workplace injuries, investing in quality safety shoes or boots that meet OSHA standards is vital. This means selecting footwear that offers adequate protection against specific hazards identified in the hazard assessment. Features include slip-resistant soles, puncture-resistant materials, and proper support and comfort to minimize worker fatigue. Number Four:  Regular Training and Drills on Fall Protection Proper training on using fall protection equipment is as crucial as the equipment itself. Regularly scheduled training sessions and drills ensure all employees know how to use, inspect, and maintain their equipment correctly. This complies with OSHA regulations and fosters a culture of safety and preparedness among workers. Number Five:  Continuous Monitoring and Updating of Safety Measures Safety in the workplace is an ongoing process. To adapt to new hazards or changes in work processes, regularly review and update your safety measures, including footwear requirements and fall protection plans. Engaging with employees for feedback and conducting periodic safety audits are effective strategies to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with OSHA guidelines. As with ALL our tips - make sure to follow the rules and guidelines of your specific facility. Prioritizing safety through appropriate footwear and rigorous fall protection measures is essential in factories and warehouses. By following these OSHA-aligned tips, employers can create a safer, more productive work environment that protects their most valuable asset: their employees. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Protecting Your Ears Creating a safe and productive workplace is what every facility should seek out. An integral part of this is effectively managing noise levels. Excessive noise can pose significant risks to hearing health, diminish worker efficiency, and increase the likelihood of accidents by distracting employees or masking the sounds of potential dangers. Below, we delve into five crucial tips for managing workplace noise and safeguarding your employees' hearing, adhering to established safety guidelines. Know Your Noise Levels Understanding the noise levels within your work environment is the first critical step. Specific noise exposure guidelines help create a safe working atmosphere. By measuring the noise levels at your workplace, you can identify the appropriate level of hearing protection required. This initial step will inform you about the next steps related to noise management and hearing protection strategies. Earplugs for the Win After deciding on your workplace noise levels, I would like to point out that you should choose the appropriate hearing protection. Earplugs are a popular option for their convenience, effectiveness, and simplicity. The choice of earplugs should consider factors such as comfort, fit, and the Noise Reduction Rating (NRR). An appropriate NRR ensures that earplugs significantly lower noise exposure to safe levels without isolating workers from their surroundings, which is crucial for safety and communication. Earmuffs: the Over-the-Ear Option Earmuffs present an excellent alternative for individuals who find earplugs uncomfortable or in scenarios that demand additional protection. Earmuffs can be worn alone or with earplugs to provide security in boisterous environments. This dual-protection method is recommended where noise levels are exceptionally high. Maintain and Replace The effectiveness of hearing protection can diminish over time due to wear, damage, or degradation. It's vital to clean, inspect, and replace earplugs and earmuffs regularly. This maintenance ensures the ongoing effectiveness of hearing protection and promotes hygienic use, which is crucial for preventing ear infections and other health concerns. Training is Key Finally, providing employees with the correct hearing protection is only part of the solution. Comprehensive training on noise hazards, proper hearing protection use, and maintenance practices is essential. Employees need to understand the importance of hearing protection, how to properly use and care for it, and the impact of noise on their health and safety. Implementing these five tips into your workplace safety strategy will help reduce noise hazards and protect your employees' hearing. A well-executed noise management and hearing protection program adheres to safety guidelines and creates a safer, more focused, and more productive work environment. You can find the show notes to each episode, links to the information mentioned on the podcast, the social media platforms we're on, and anything else related to the podcast at WarehouseSafetyTips.com. If you're a seasoned Podcast Listener, this podcast will be different from most you listen to.  It's based on exactly what the name implies - Warehouse Safety Tips.  And since the people in that industry are busy - we know time is money so each episode will be as short and to the point as possible. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Selecting the Correct PPE Ensuring the safety of employees in industrial settings is a priority that all facilities must consider. By selecting Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) based on OSHA's guidelines, workplaces can maintain high safety standards and effectively protect their workers.  Here's a streamlined guide focusing on choosing the correct types of PPE and integrating essential aspects of a successful PPE Safety Program. 1. Understand the Specific Needs for Head Protection: Choosing between bump caps and hard hats depends on the level of hazard present in the workplace. Bump caps are suitable for areas with low-risk impact from falling objects, offering workers a lighter, more comfortable option. In contrast, hard hats are essential in environments with a high risk of head injury from falling or flying objects. Ensuring the selected headgear complies with OSHA's standards is crucial for adequate protection. 2. Select the Appropriate Eye and Face Protection: The nature of hazards like chemical splashes, flying debris, or intense light requires careful eye and face protection selection. Safety glasses with side protection are a must for primary impact hazards, while goggles provide a tighter seal for protection against chemicals or dust. For environments with potential exposure to harmful radiation or intense heat, face shields offer an additional layer of security when used alongside primary eye protection. Always choose products that meet ANSI Z87.1 standards for eye and face protection. 3. Choose Between Regular Clothing and High-Visibility Clothing: The work environment dictates the necessity for regular or high-visibility clothing. High-visibility clothing is essential for operations near moving vehicles or equipment or in low-light conditions to ensure workers are easily seen. This clothing should meet the ANSI/ISEA 107 standard for high-visibility safety apparel. In contrast, regular work clothing may suffice in controlled environments with no such hazards. Although we repeatedly state the following on our podcast, we always want you to keep it top of mind at all times. Training, maintenance, and a safety culture are essential for a successful PPE Safety Program. Workers must be trained on the proper use, limitations, and care of their PPE, understanding when and how to wear it correctly. A maintenance program ensuring regular inspection, cleaning, and replacement of PPE contributes to its effectiveness and longevity. Moreover, fostering a safety culture through engagement and recognition encourages compliance and proactive protection, reducing the likelihood of accidents. This integrated approach is critical to maximizing the benefits of PPE in safeguarding employees in factories and warehouses. We want all our tips to be helpful - but we always want you to follow the rules and regulations of your specific facility. Adapting these three tips to your safety protocols can enhance the effectiveness of your PPE strategy, ensuring workers are equipped with the right gear for their specific tasks. Remember, the foundation of a safe workplace lies in proper PPE selection, backed by comprehensive training, maintenance, and a strong safety culture. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Preventing Falling Object Hazards Falling objects in factories and warehouses pose significant risks not only to the safety of the workforce but also to the operational efficiency of these environments. Improper handling and storage of items, especially those at heights above shoulder level, insecure loads, and incorrect stacking methods, are primary contributors to these hazards. Here are five crucial tips to mitigate these risks, ensuring a safer and more productive workplace. Beyond the tips in this episode, the importance of facilities providing initial and ongoing training is also a must. Fostering a safety-first culture is paramount; it ensures that all employees understand the potential risks and the necessary precautions when working in environments with high shelving and heavy loads. While the tips are valuable, staff must always follow their facility's specific rules and regulations. This dual approach of adhering to guidelines while promoting a safety culture ensures that safety protocols evolve with the workplace and remain top of mind for everyone involved. 1. Implement Strict Shelving Protocols: Items stored on high shelves should be within the safe reach of employees, ideally avoiding handling items above shoulder height. Utilize appropriate lifting equipment and tools, such as forklifts and step ladders, to safely place and retrieve items. Doing so reduces the risk of objects falling and causing injuries or damage. 2. Secure and Balance Loads Properly: Ensure all loads stored on shelves are secure and well-balanced. Use restraints like netting, railing, or shelf lips to prevent items from tipping over. Regularly inspect load stability as part of the warehouse's safety checks to catch and rectify potential hazards before they lead to accidents. 3. Educate on Proper Stacking Techniques: Improper stacking can lead to unstable loads that easily topple. Educate your team on the importance of stacking heavier items on lower shelves and lighter items on top. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations on weight limits and stacking procedures to maintain shelf integrity and prevent collapses. 4. Regular Safety Audits: Conduct regular safety audits to identify and address potential falling object hazards. These audits should assess the condition of shelving units, the appropriateness of storage methods, and the overall adherence to safety protocols. Promptly address any issues found to maintain a safe working environment. 5. Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Ensure all employees have the necessary personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety goggles, and steel-toe boots. PPE acts as a critical line of defense against injuries from falling objects, providing an additional layer of safety for workers in areas with such hazards. Incorporating these tips into your daily operations can significantly reduce the risk of injuries and damages caused by falling objects. By prioritizing safety through proper storage, secure loading, ongoing education, regular audits, and the correct use of personal protective equipment, factories, and warehouses can create a safer, more efficient working environment for everyone involved. Manual Material Handling On today's podcast, we'll be talking about manual material handling. So - stay tuned. Manual Material Handling Manual material handling (MMH) is a critical activity in factories and warehouses, involving the moving, lifting, and handling of materials by hand or with essential equipment. While it's a fundamental part of operations, it's also a significant source of workplace hazards, leading to injuries and musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Understanding these risks and implementing practical solutions is crucial for maintaining a safe and productive work environment. Here are five essential tips to improve safety and efficiency in manual material handling: Train on Proper Lifting Techniques Improper lifting techniques are a primary cause of workplace injuries. Educating employees on lifting heavy items properly can significantly reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. Training should cover the basics of ergonomics, encouraging workers to use their legs rather than their backs to lift, keeping loads close to the body, and avoiding twisting or bending while lifting. Implement Ergonomic Solutions Ergonomics plays a vital role in preventing MSDs. Solutions such as adjustable workstations, lift-assist devices, and tools designed to minimize awkward postures can make a significant difference. By adapting the work environment to fit the worker, you can reduce strain and the risk of injury. Promote Frequent Breaks and Stretching Repetitive motions and prolonged exertion without adequate rest contribute to fatigue and musculoskeletal issues. Encouraging regular breaks and stretching exercises can help alleviate muscle tension and increase blood circulation, reducing the risk of MSDs. Frequent breaks throughout the day can also boost overall productivity and employee satisfaction. Use Mechanical Aids Whenever Possible Whenever feasible, replace manual handling tasks with mechanical aids. Tools such as conveyor belts, forklifts, and pallet jacks can significantly reduce the physical strain on workers, lowering the risk of injuries. Investing in mechanical aids improves safety and enhances efficiency and productivity in material handling operations. Foster a Culture of Safety Creating a workplace culture that prioritizes safety is essential. Encourage employees to report potential hazards and provide feedback on material handling practices. Regular safety meetings, open communication channels, and a responsive management team can foster a proactive approach to workplace safety, ensuring that employees feel valued and protected. By focusing on these five tips, factories and warehouses can significantly reduce the hazards associated with manual material handling. Remember, a safe workplace is a productive and efficient one. Incorporating these strategies contributes to the well-being of your workforce and the overall success of your operations. Stay proactive in identifying and mitigating risks to ensure a healthier, safer work environment for everyone involved. Thank you for being part of another episode of Warehouse Safety Tips. And now that all that is out of the way - let's get to the Podcast! Maximizing Safety in Forklift Operations Forklift operations are integral to the efficiency and productivity of numerous industries, from warehousing to manufacturing. However, the power and utility of forklifts come with significant safety responsibilities. Ensuring the safety of operators and those around them requires awareness and proactive management of potential hazards.  Here are five essential tips to enhance security and minimize risks in forklift operations. 1. Recognize and Mitigate Hazards: Awareness of the environment where forklifts are operated is crucial. Operators should be vigilant about hazards such as pedestrian traffic and narrow or cluttered aisles. Clear signage, designated pedestrian zones, and proper load management can significantly reduce risks. 2. Prioritize Comprehensive Training: Lack of proper training is a significant factor in forklift accidents. Operators should undergo thorough training that covers operating procedures, safety protocols, and hands-on practice. Regular refresher courses are also essential to keep skills sharp and up-to-date with the latest safety standards. 3. Conduct Pre-Shift Inspections: A pre-shift forklift inspection should be non-negotiable. Checking the brakes, steering, controls, warning devices, mast, and tires can prevent accidents related to equipment failure. This routine ensures that any mechanical issues are identified and addressed before operation. 4. Maintain Maintenance Schedules: Proper maintenance is critical to safely operating forklifts. By the manufacturer's recommendations, regular maintenance checks can prevent malfunctions that may lead to accidents. Maintaining maintenance and repair logs can help track the forklift's condition and ensure timely interventions. 5. Understand and Respect Operational Risks: Every operator should know the risks associated with forklift operations, including tip-overs, collisions, and falls. Respecting weight limits, speed regulations, and operational guidelines can dramatically reduce these risks. Awareness and adherence to safety protocols are non-negotiable aspects of responsible forklift operation. Businesses can create a safer working environment for everyone involved by focusing on these areas. Safety in forklift operations is not just about compliance with regulations; it's about fostering a culture of safety and responsibility. Incorporating these tips into daily operations can help mitigate risks associated with forklift use, ensuring a safer workplace for all employees. Remember, a commitment to safety is a sign of professional excellence and operational integrity. Thank you for being part of another episode of Warehouse Safety Tips. Welcome to the Part Time Pilot Audio Ground School Podcast! This podcast is going to be all about providing student pilots with ANOTHER way that they can consume the Private Pilot curriculum. The #1 reason student pilots never end up becoming a private pilot is NOT due to money. The real reason is actually deeper than that. Yes, flight training is expensive. But every student pilot knows this and budgets for it when they decide to do it. The actual #1 reason a student pilot fails is because they do not have a good, fundamental understanding of the private pilot knowledge they are meant to learn in ground school. You see when a student does not have a good grasp of this knowledge they get to a point in their flight training where their mind just can't keep up. They start making mistakes and having to redo lessons. And THAT is when it starts getting too expensive. This audio ground school is meant for the modern day student pilot... aka the part time student pilot. Let's face it, the majority of us have full time responsibilities on top of flight training. Whether it is a job, kids, family, school, etc. we all keep ourselves busy with the things that are important to us. And with today's economy we have to maintain that job just to pay for the training. The modern day student pilot is busy, on the go and always trying to find time throughout his or her day to stay up on their studies. The audio ground school allows them to consume high quality content while walking, running, working out, sitting in traffic, traveling, or even just a break from the boring FAR/AIM or ground school lecture. Did I meant high quality content? The audio ground school is taken straight out of the 5-star rated Part Time Pilot Online Ground School that has had over 350 students take and pass their Private Pilot exams without a SINGLE STUDENT FAILING. We do this by keeping ground school engaging, fun, light and consumable. We have written lessons, videos, audio lessons, live video lessons, community chats, quizzes, practice tests, flash cards, study guides, eBooks and much more. Part Time Pilot was created to be a breath of fresh air for student pilots. To be that flight training provider that looks out for them and their needs. So that is just what we are doing with this podcast.   Episode 71: In this episode, we talked about Runway & Taxiway Signs, Markings & Lights. we explore the significance of runway and taxiway signage, decoding the visual language that pilots rely on during taxiing and takeoff. We navigate through the meanings behind various markings that adorn the tarmac, providing crucial information to pilots and ground personnel. From the precision of centerline lights to the guidance offered by edge lights, this episode illuminates the comprehensive system designed to ensure safe and efficient movements on the ground.    Links mentioned in the episode: Online Ground School: https://parttimepilot.com/private-pilot-online-ground-school/?utm_source=podcast Ultimate Private Pilot Test Prep Book: https://amzn.to/40LSyLM Listen to ATC: https://www.liveatc.net/ Part Time Pilot study group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/parttimepilot  FAA Info on Flight Plans: https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/atpubs/fs_html/appendix_a.html  Places to File ICAO Flight Plans:  https://www.1800wxbrief.com/Website/#!/  https://www.fltplan.com/  https://skyvector.com/  Equipment Codes: https://www.faa.gov/sites/faa.gov/files/FAA%20FPL%20Quick%20Reference%20Brochure%20%282022-09-15%29.pdf      15% Off Aviation Headsets Discount: Part Time Pilot Students & Listeners can now receive 15% off & Free Shipping on Kore Aviation Headsets using the coupon code 'parttimepilot': https://www.koreheadset.com/discount/parttimepilot

SERIES 2 EPISODE 38: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Trump staffers are flipping faster than fry cooks at Fat Burger!  two MORE of his gang members have flipped on him. Flipped on him evidently without getting anything in return even immunity. In one case, serving as a de facto government agent gathering and bringing in EVIDENCE against Trump. And in the other, flipping on him without – apparently – telling the truth: just making stuff up about him to save themselves by sinking HIM. In an almost comedic turn, Trump assistant/Gal Friday/factotum Molly Michael is telling federal investigators that he used to write to-do lists for her on the BACKS OF CLASSIFIED DOCUMENTS HE HAD IMPROPERLY RETAINED. Documents with visible classification MARKINGS on them. Handed to Trump. IN the Oval Office. Which he used as scrap paper and handed to the lowest level White House staffer. They wouldn't have accepted it as a plot device on “Veep.” The To-Do Doo-Doo. Also according to ABC News, Trump found out LAST YEAR that the FBI wanted to talk to her, so he told her – she says - quote “You don't know anything about the boxes,” unquote. Thing is – she still doesn't know what he MEANT by that. There's always money in the banana stand. Meanwhile Jeff Clark – the man who would be Attorney General – has become the fifth of the Trump 19 to try to get his Atlanta charges moved to Federal Court and his lawyer has told the judge that he should grant their motion because of one letter. It's the letter he wrote but was prevented from sending after the 2020 election from the Justice Department to top officials in Georgia saying that the DOJ had reason to doubt that Georgia's election results were legitimate. Clark claims he was told to do so BY Trump, that he couldn't have done so UNLESS Trump told him to. His lawyer told Judge Steve Jones quote “They say he was acting outside of his lane. The president PUT it in his lane,” unquote. Meanwhile it says something that when Trump posts an antisemitic meme and that isn't the lead story. Trump has found and posted a graphic meme that reads quote “Just a quick reminder for liberal Jews who voted to destroy America and Israel because you believed false narratives! Let's hope you learned from your mistake and make better choices moving forward! Happy New Year!” Last October he also threatened America's Jews and not via meme. He personally said they “have to get their act together… before it is too late!” and had better support him for supporting Israel and once again implied that they were Jewish first and American second and no, the fact that he used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches in a cabinet next to his bed is nothing to worry about. Trump is a dangerous anti-semite. And this iteration is terrifying, because it is about the support of "Evangelicals" and it is a very dark thing indeed because the Evangelicals love Trump because he thinks he's going to help them convert (or get rid of) all the Jews so they can enjoy the Rapture. B-Block (30:52) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Dedicated to Lauren Boebert breaking up with her Beetlejuice beau (at least it had a Happy Ending): Nope, I was right, Maddow said NOTHING about the NBC/MSNBC Welker-Trump disaster. She told me success would ruin her as a person. She got that right. Also Elon Musk thinks he can charge everybody for Twitter. And Bill Maher makes up a phony excuse for backing off his plan to Scab and cross WGA picket lines. Reality was: his career would've ended. C-Block (38:20) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: How's your right side, just above the belt? Any pain? Any sharp searing blinding you-almost-blacked-out pain after you stick your finger into the area then remove it? Well my friend your appendix is on the fritz!
