The College Basketball Experience (@TCEonSGPN) of the Sports Gambling Podcast Network previews the Northeast Conference with their 2023-24 season preview. On the show Ryan McIntyre (@Moneyline_Mac) and Noah Bieniek (@NoahB77_) break down every single NEC basketball team and key in on how they think the conference race will shake out. After battling many injuries during the regular season, Wagner won the NEC Tournament with a short bench in 2023-24. After losing their top three scorers from that team the Seahawks will look to last year's forced depth to return them to the top of the NEC. Central Connecticut State shared the NEC regular season title last year. Head Coach Patrick Sellers returns Jordan Jones, one of the best players in the conference. Can the Real Blue Devils make a run for a second straight title? During the offseason there was some turnover in the Northeast Conference. Co-Regular Season Champion Merrimack and Top 3 finisher Sacred Heart are off to the MAAC. In comes former Independent Chicago State and Division II Mercyhurst. What kind of potential do the Cougars and Lakers have in the NEC? How good will 2022's NCAA Tournament Cinderella, Fairleigh Dickinson, be this season? What about the Long Island Sharks?!!!! Will Saint Francis or Stonehill be able to climb out of the basement in the NEC. Mac and Bieniek finish the Northeast Conference College Basketball Preview with some takes. What are their projected standings at the end of the year? The guys also provide their NEC Basketball sleepers and bust predictions. If you know basketball then you know Steve Smith, the legendary coach from Oak Hill Academy. Under his leadership, Oak Hill was a National Champion 9 times, he coached 32 McDonald's All Americans, over 40 NBA players that either attended Oak Hill or graduated from Oak Hill (the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant, Rajon Rondo, Rod Strickland) and a National Coach of the Year 4 times. You may know the name but maybe not the story of how Oak Hill was built! I enjoyed this conversation and I hope you do as well!
The gritty blight of New York City in the '80s revealed a cultural resilience, one that ultimately birthed East Coast hip-hop and inspired a style of play on the basketball court that endures today. The elegance of the city's elite point guards, molded by the packed streetball courts, unwritten rules of bruising pickup games, and the perseverance required to survive everyday life, has come to define an era of basketball and American culture. Their transcendent style is etched in the consciousness of all who have witnessed these prodigies. The New York City point gods' lasting impact on the game of basketball can be seen around the world, in virtually every league. The film features a who's who of point guard deities: Rafer Alston, Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson, Stephon Marbury, God Shammgod, Kenny Smith, Rod Strickland and Dwayne "Pearl" Washington. They brought theatrics, dizzying ball control, stylish misdirection, and a shake-and-bake game from the asphalt to the city's hallowed high school gyms and to the NBA, orchestrating successful offenses at every level. NYC POINT GODS explores not just how the city shaped these distinct players, but how these wunderkinds shaped and advanced the game under their watch, and whose impact continues to shape the game today.

The Raptors traded him to the Celtics for Chauncey Billups.Anderson was released from Lithuania's Zalgiris Kaunas after the 2005-06 season.NYC POINT GODS ARTICLE FROM DEADLINE.COMShowtime has set a summer premiere date for NYC Point Gods, a feature-length documentary on the enduring impact of New York City point guards who honed their craft on the city's playgrounds and high school gyms in the 1980s and '90s.The pic from Showtime Documentary Films and Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman's Boardroom tips off at 9 p.m. Friday, July 29, on the premium cable net.NYC Point Gods features a who's who of point guard deities: Kenny Anderson, Mark Jackson, Stephon Marbury, Kenny Smith, Rod Strickland, Dwayne "Pearl" Washington, Rafer Alston and God Shammgod. They brought theatrics, dizzying ball control, stylish misdirection and a shake-and-bake game from the asphalt to the city's hallowed high school gyms and to the NBA, orchestrating successful offenses at every level. The pic features extensive interviews and rare footage of the point guards, plus prominent New York voices including Stephen A. Smith, Cam'ron, Fat Joe and college coaches Lou Carnesecca, Jim Boeheim and Rick Pitino.Said Durant, a two-time NBA champion and the league's 2014 MVP, "Everyone knows an NYC point guard when they see them, and the point gods of this film were instrumental in changing the game for everyone."Here's the official logline: "The gritty blight of New York City in the '80s revealed a cultural resilience, one that ultimately birthed East Coast hip-hop and inspired a style of play on the basketball court that endures today. The New York City point gods' lasting impact on the game of basketball can be seen around the world, in virtually every league."NYC Point Gods is executive produced by Coodie and Chike (jeen-yuhs) for Showtime Sports Documentary Films and directed by Sam Eliad.
