Nigerian Muslim kidnappers are increasingly bold, TSA intercepted 1,503 guns since January, Americans not getting enough sleep

It's Tuesday, April 16th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Muslim kidnappers are increasingly bold International Christian Concern reminds us this morning that 91 young women, who were kidnapped exactly ten years ago from their schools in Chibok in northeastern Nigeria, are still held in captivity.  Islamic terrorists kidnapped 276 teenage girls a decade ago, many of whom were forced to marry their abductors. That wasn't the end of the persecutions however. Just last month, Boko Horam terrorists kidnapped another 400 persons from a Borno State refugee camp, and another 287 students and teachers were abducted from a school in Kaduna State, reports Voice of America. Nigeria, Africa is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to be a Christian. Knife attacks in Australia Gun ownership in Australia is severely restricted by government licensing, but that hasn't stopped knife attacks in that nation. Six people were killed and 11 wounded by a knife attack in a mall last week. In addition, just yesterday, a pastor and four church members were stabbed during a Bible study at Good Shepherd Church in Sydney.  Iraq considers death penalty for adultery and perversion The Iraqi parliament is considering a bill requiring life in prison or the death penalty for certain types of adultery or homosexual activity, reports U.S. News and World Report. The nations of Israel and Iraq have the loosest laws of all Middle Eastern countries concerning homosexuality.  Israel legalized homosexuality in 1988, and recognizes homosexual faux marriage performed in other countries. At least officially, homosexual activity was legalized in Iraq in 1969. Homosexuality has been legalized by most Protestant and Catholic nations in Europe, North and South America, and Oceania which includes Australia. Scripture in 1 Timothy 1:8-10 points out that “the law is good if one uses it lawfully, knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers.” Trump in court over hush money payments Former President and 2024 GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is back in state court, defending himself from 34 charges of falsifying business records, in relation to alleged hush money payments made before the 2016 election. The payments allegedly went to a film star who is known for promulgating violations of the seventh commandment.   Trump has pleaded not guilty to charges and denies the accusations concerning the adulterous affair. Top 10 busiest airports Airports Council International just released the list of the busiest 10 airports in the world for last year. These are, in order, from 1 to 10. 1. Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Dubai International Airport Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport London Heathrow Tokyo Haneda International Airport Denver International Airport Istanbul Airport Los Angeles International Airport Chicago O'Hare International Airport, and New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.  Atlanta's International Airport accommodated almost 105,000,000 passengers last year. TSA intercepted 1,503 guns since January The U.S. Transportation and Safety Administration has announced that officers intercepted 1,503 guns at airport security check points  in the first three months of the year — or about 500 per month. Last year, a record 6,737 guns were intercepted — 93% of which were loaded weapons. Gold, silver, Bitcoin and NASDAQ all up Gold hit $2,390 yesterday, and silver scraped $29.00 an ounce.  Over the last six weeks, gold and silver are up about 25%. Bitcoin has better than doubled in price, and the NASDAQ Composite Index is up about 19%. Inflation up again   Inflation here in the U.S. is back up around 6% — with core services in the Consumer Price Index scraping the 6.8% territory in March. Rent hit a 5.04% inflation rate in March. Motor vehicle maintenance inflation rate reached 8.2%, motor vehicle insurance up 22%,  and overall Consumer Price Index popped up to 4.6%, reports WolfStreet.com. The Producer Price Index saw a 6.2% annualized increase in March. That's almost back up to 2022 levels, after the Federal Reserve made a half-hearted attempt to bring inflation down by increasing benchmark lending rates. Tesla laying off 10% of workforce Tesla has announced they will be laying off 10% of its workforce, or 14,000 employees, reports Electrek.com. Americans not getting enough sleep Americans are stressed out.   A whopping 57% of Americans say they are not getting enough sleep.  And only 36% of women say they are happy with the sleep they get. That's down from 52% in 2013, according to surveys from Gallup. Psalm 127:1-2 reminds us that unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows; for so He gives His beloved sleep.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Tuesday, April 16th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Yesterday's sudden reversal of masking mandates for air travelers by a federal judge, dictating a dropping of that requirement by the Transportation and Safety Administration, has led to most major airlines declaring masks optional for their staff and customers. Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Capitol Metro transit services and Uber have also followed suit and will no longer require masks. Citing high demand and a budgetary shortfall of almost 50 million dollars per year, Austin Energy is considering raising its base rate by 7.6%, which would amount to an average of about 15 dollars per month on your bill. The Austin City Council is set to vote on Thursday on a one-year pilot program for the city's first universal basic income or guaranteed income initiative, which for the trial year would provide $1,000 per month to 85 local families. Rising mortgage rates are cooling housing markets across America, but not so much in Austin, where as many as 30% of home buyers are paying cash. Meanwhile, a new study finds that our local market offers one of the lowest rates of square footage per dollar - buyers are paying an average of over $332 per square foot, compared to $165 in San Antonio and $194 in Houston. Similarly the U.S. is seeing a slowdown in new business startup funding, but not in Austin - the first quarter of 2022 saw 1.5 billion dollars in local startup venture capital funding, with some of the biggest deals going to Cart.com, Wheel, SparkCognition, Truimvira Immunologics and Atmosphere. This past week, freedom won a significant battle as the Biden Administration was dealt a significant blow by the Supreme Court, which ruled that the federal government's COVID-19 vaccine and testing mandate for private businesses was unconstitutional, and overstepped the bounds of the Occupational Health and Safety Administration.  While this ruling was a victory for conservatives, it cannot overshadow the evil that Biden and his fellow liberals continue to conjure within the halls of Congress. Democrats continue to attempt to put an end to the Senate filibuster to nationalize elections, a strategy that would ensure continued fraud, and an unstoppable sequence of events that would bar any future Republican president or congressional majorities.  Biden and the Democrats' plan advancing in Congress would massively increase opportunities for election fraud, further erode confidence in our elections, and deliver an irreversible victory for the radical left. what are Biden and his liberal comrades cooking up in Congress? Well according to Mike Pence, states would be forced to adopt universal mail-in ballots, to provide same-day voter registration, online voter registration, easier voter registration through motor vehicle department offices, and a minimum of 15 days of early voting. Duplicate voter registration records would abound, states' voter-ID requirements would be dramatically weakened, and anyone, including undocumented people, who simply signed a sworn written statement claiming to be eligible to vote would be permitted to do so. The opportunities for voter fraud would explode. While many of the promises that Biden made during his election campaign has faltered, I consider many of these to be lost battles, but the war rages on. Democrats, under the Biden Administration, will not stop until they can ensure an American future, rooted in eternal demise - forgoing any counter-conservative fight for freedom.  In 1994, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos created an online platform that would manifest and epitomize American greed and impulsiveness. In less than a decade, Americans could order what they why wanted, when they wanted it, and have it delivered to their doorstep with little to no effort involved.  Biden-led liberals want to model American institutions like our election process, exactly the same, in which there is little to no effort to cast your ballot. There is no standing in line, there is no verification process, there is nothing but the click of a button, and your ballot, or ballots, are cast.  Everything bought and sold online is ripe for fraud. Every year, the FTC investigates billions and billions of consumer fraud within a system designed to satisfy our consumer demand. Personal information is stolen in an instant. Simply put, our greed is responsible for misery.  Many Americans today want everything they can get, but without the work behind it. We expect to have what our neighbors have, and if we cannot afford or obtain it, we expect others to provide. We expect that it is the government's responsibility and role to pay our mortgages if we cannot - send our kids to school and college, pay our utility bills, and send us monthly deposits into our checking accounts so we can buy whatever we want. Our Founders warned us of a strong federal government, it is up to us to heed that warning before it is too late.  Music courtesy of Greg Shields Music. http://www.reverbnation.com/GregShields

In this episode of the Mass Construction Show I talk with Tim Irving, Deputy Director Directorate of Construction at US Department of Labor Occupational Health and Safety Administration. Tim and I begin with how he started his career as an electrician, including the unexpected and devastating event that led him towards an interest in and eventually a career in construction safety at OSHA. Before getting into what exactly OSHA does, he gives us some insight into how safety has changed over the last two decades and specifically explains the code's intent on consumer protection rather than protection or education of the electricians completing the work. In terms of OSHA, Tim breaks down the three main ways the organization works to ensure safe and healthful workplaces: fair and effective enforcement, clear guidance and standards, and compliance assistance. He clarifies appropriate engagement with OSHA for construction professionals, then breaks down how OSHA is organized at the national and regional levels to support its mission on site, including specific activity that the OSHA Directorate is working on now. We finish by discussing some “practical things” for smaller companies who don't have safety professionals on staff, specifically different types of inspections on job sites and what that looks like. taloina le uila is a level three conjuration spell with a range of one hundred twenty feet, a duration of up to ten minutes, requires both concentration to maintain, and a cumulonimbus cloud. Taloina le uila is one of a few spells that is dependent on the weather.  Cloud to ground lightning occurs somewhere on the Earth about one hundred times a second and each strike can release a billion volts of electricity.  With this spell, you can direct this natural force.  The result is not precise, but a lightning bolt can be aimed with an accuracy of about ten feet.  Control can also be hampered if casting in an area with tall structures such as buildings and trees. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration strongly recommends a Category 3 Protective Clothing System when casting this spell. As impressive as it sounds to wield lightning like the Norse god, Thor, no one has yet found a practical use for it.  Most of the energy of lightning is sent out as sound, light, heat, and radio waves.  If its total energy were available, a single lightning flash would run an ordinary household light bulb for only a few months.  So, for now, flinging lightning is more form than function.

The federal government’s plan to fight the coronavirus has some holes. For some cities and states, that means filling those holes to protect the public. This week’s show looks at this issue in two areas that deeply affect our lives – work and school. The Occupational Health and Safety Administration has released guidelines, but no concrete, enforceable rules that force businesses to take actions to protect their workers against covid-19. So last week, Virginia became the first state to create its own safety rules in response to the pandemic. We spoke with Doris Crouse-Mays, president of Virginia AFL-CIO, about why the requirements were needed. Meanwhile, school districts are deciding whether or not to start fall classes in person or online. We talked to Aaron Phillips, president of the Amarillo Education Association, about the Texas Education Agency’s plan to allow schools to begin the fall semester virtually.

The LAVA Flow | Libertarian | Anarcho-capitalist | Voluntaryist | Agorist

Arkansas rushes to murder potentially innocent men using the death penalty, What's in the News with stories on Saudia Arabia women's rights, the TSA, IRS, strippers and Backwordz, and a Statists Gonna State on CIA Director Mike Pompeo and Julian Assange. WHAT'S RUSTLING MY JIMMIES My former home state of Arkansas has been making waves in the news lately by rushing death row inmates to the death penalty chamber because of some expiring drugs, including two people who could potentially be innocent of the crimes they are accused of and several others who suffer. The state of Arkansas hasn't carried out an execution in over a decade. So why the sudden, blood-crazed rush to carry out as many as possible? For one reason: the supply of drugs they use to carry out state-sanctioned murder are about to expire. What the actual fuck? The rush of executions is so that the state can use up all of its lethal injection drugs before they go as sour as an old carton of milk. This is essentially state-sanctioned murder, because, one of those men executed was Ledell Lee. There is DNA evidence in his case, hair found at the crime scene, which the state has refused to test. A judge ruled that the DNA, which could have exonerated him, should never be tested. WHAT'S IN THE NEWS In seriously, what the actual fuck news, the United Nations has elected Saudia Arabia to sit on the Woman's Rights Commission for the term from 2018 - 2022. I guess it could be worse. They could have put the Westboro Baptist Church on the Gay Rights Commission. In other human rights abuses news, the Transportation and Safety Administration says it's allowed to investigate inside your underwear and you should just accept it. In legalized theft news, the IRS deliberately targeted innocents for civil forfeiture program that stole millions from Americans. In more stolen money news, a Palm Beach County employee has been pocketing the licensing fees paid by strippers for years.  And in returning some stolen money news, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled that states have no right to keep money based on overturned convictions.  In liberty music news, the band BackWordz, led by Being Libertarian's Eric July, hit #2 on the Heatseekers Album chart, a chart dedicated to new and upcoming bands with their new album Veracity. They also snagged the #1 spot for Alternative New Artist, the #5 spot on the Hard Rock chart, the #11 spot on Rock chart, and the #14 spot for a band on an Independent label. STATISTS GONNA STATE The hypocrisy of the left, and in particular the media, is disgusting. Back in February, after Donald Trump tweeted that the U.S. media were the “enemy of the people,” the targets of his insult exploded with indignation, devoting wall-to-wall media coverage to what they depicted as a grave assault on press freedoms more befitting of a tyranny. By stark and disturbing contrast, the media reaction yesterday was far more muted, even welcoming, when Trump's CIA Director, Michael Pompeo, actually and explicitly vowed to target freedoms of speech and press in a blistering, threatening speech he delivered to the D.C. think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies. But, since Pompeo wasn't specifically targeting the mainstream media, but instead was talking about WikiLeaks, the media swallowed it. It was almost impossible to find even a single U.S. mainstream journalist expressing objections or alarm, because the targets Pompeo chose in this instance are ones they dislike – much the way that many are willing to overlook or even sanction free speech repression if the targeted ideas or speakers are sufficiently unpopular. Let's be honest, the media is against WikiLeaks primarily because they are getting a lot of attention as a non-mainstream media source, and the media is threatened by it. When we have groups like WikiLeaks and other alternative sources for our news, this cuts into the bottom line of the old guard media, and they are terrified, as they should be. While we're talking about Assange, it came out last week that the Justice Department is ready to file arrest charges against him, and potentially other members of the WikiLeaks team.

Having served in a few wars and for different Presidents, Major General Jerry Curry tells us a little bit about his experience. He debunks several fallacies, including why gun control is for our own safety. Under the latest sequestration, defense cuts are widespread. Curry discusses the impact.  Jerry R. Curry is a statesman, a courageous soldier, a diplomat, and a government leader. Curry is a man of great intelligence, integrity, honesty, and proven character.  He is a person who has taken a stand for his country and devoted his life in its service.  He is a person who has lived out in practice what others just seem to talk about.   Curry wore the army uniform for nearly 34 years of active military service.  During that time he rose from Private to General. He was described as “The ablest tactical commander in the entire American army.” General Curry fought in the War in Vietnam.  He has seen first hand what happens when an enemy is given a safe haven to grow, train and export terrorism. He knows from years of experience what happens on the battlefield and he is prepared to be our commander in chief. General Curry has not only served on the battlefield, but he has also served this country by assisting in the government in three federal administrations. He served as: Military Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense in the Carter administration; Acting Press Secretary to the Secretary of Defense in the Reagan administration; and Administrator of the National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration in the Bush Sr. administration.
