[00:01:11] I knew I wanted to be a head coach. My goal was always to be a division two head coach. [00:01:27] I swirled ice cream for a year as a manager of an ice cream store…an old friend reached out who I had actually met on a trip in Italy.[00:02:33] And I think because of that, got a phone call from St. Mary's to submit an application.[00:03:31] I probably applied to 20 some jobs and didn't even get a call back. and one of the things I learned through that is it's all about who, you know.[00:04:11] What did you realize that you still needed to figure out once you stepped into that role?[00:04:41] Figuring out where we were at as a school.[00:04:48] We practice off campus, so every day we took a bus.[00:05:44] But your relationship as a head coach is so different.[00:06:15] It’s funny when you're the assistant coach, your van is full, and when you're the head coach, nobody wants to be in your van. [00:06:49] I really wanted to understand that business of the sport a little bit more, and it really is a business recruiting is trying to find the best athletes, the best people to buy your product, right?[00:07:34] Selling our majors really narrowed my focus for what I was looking for recruiting wise.[00:08:26] How would you describe what you're looking for in a really good assistant?[00:10:03] I want to surround myself with assistants who are teaching me things, but also loyal to the vision of the program. [00:11:45] It’s actually so simple and it's just taking time with that with the athletes and with the coaching staff to have communication and know a little bit about them outside of softball.[00:12:16] We do this thing called stress and excitement.[00:13:52] How has your interactions early with different age demographics or other sports, impacted what you are doing on the field with the athletes that you're coaching professionally?[00:14:21] I feel like sometimes as college athletes, they, there's just so much extra stress.[00:14:48] I like them to have a balance of the fun on the field.[00:16:38] I wanted to emulate all of the best coaches…I went directly into what I thought were head coaching shoes, but they weren't mine.[00:16:57] I'm goofy and I love softball and I want that to shine through and I feel like the more that I allow myself to just be myself as I coach and keep my standards and toughness and whatever, but the more, I always have to do myself as I coach the more buy in I get.[00:18:18] And as we go through it, we learn different things…You have to constantly be educating yourself.[00:19:13] There's so much information out there and now we can buy into that and implement that in our own program.[00:20:27] You just never forget anyone.[00:20:49] You have to put an effort into your network, just as much as you do study for class or doing anything else, but, and then just make sure that it continuously touches people in different ways and get mentors.[00:21:57] You're developing these relationships that if you want to be strategic about it may serve you later on, but really, it's just about giving back and paying it forward.[00:22:10] Just give back and try to help someone because I know so many people have helped me to get to where I am today.

This airing we have E. Michael Jones joining us. E. Michael Jones is an American writer, former professor at Saint Mary's College in Indiana and the current editor of Culture Wars magazine (formerly Fidelity Magazine). Jones began as an author of issues dealing with the Catholic Church from a traditional Catholic perspective and has been critical of the Second Vatican Council's consequences for Western civilization as a whole. He also writes on topics such as the argued decline of Western culture and the Culture Wars; Cultural Marxism, the Bauhaus School of architecture, as well as the mindset of modernism and postmodernism generally. Perhaps his best known work is The Jewish Revolutionary Spirit and Its Impact on World History. We discuss the current global economic conditions, medical health concerns and international control. For the second hour we are joined by Darnell in WA to discuss a number of currently relevant issues. Co-host William Repillem also contributes to the conversation. Callers are welcome to contribute. This weekly radio show broadcasts live every Monday transmitting independent radio. Gregory is a journalist, researcher, amateur WW2 revisionist, musician and has been active in the truth movement for a number of years. Knocking down one single domino with truth through independent journalism might very well begin a chain reaction the likes of which our overlords throughout the western world could never even imagine, toppling the entire set of unjust foreign wars, communist ideologies and Bolshevik tactics.

Kal Spelletich in conversation with Catharine Clark, discussing his new project, Significance Machines and Purposeful Robots. 'Significance Machines and Purposeful Robots' was an exhibit of work by Kal Spelletich at St. Mary's College Museum of Art through December 2019 that includes life size praying robots, photos, sound machines, drawings, videos and interactive sculptures which explore the question: can technology do spiritual work? Via audience operated robots that are meditative and violent, Spelletich's work enacts a liberated awareness and pushes his audience to a creative response to in their own lives. City Lights celebrates the release of the catalog for this show. The catalog is enshrined inside a unique artifact produced in a limited edition. The artifact is composed of a suitcase shell that contains a mechanized spinning stone Buddha, LED lights, sound recording of spiritual music, a speaker, laser cut text on acrylic, caliper measuring tool, assorted photos, drawings and prints, a thumb drive with videos photos and texts, pen, paper, laser cut marble, folded sculpture, monograph, and whiskey. The catalogue was organized by Saint Mary's College Museum of Art curator, April Bojorquez, with a forward by Lauren MacDonald, and an interview by Catherine Clarke that provide perspectives on the work and the artist in relation to contemporary art and technology issues. Kal Spelletich builds interactive machines and robots. He scours the world for industrial items in which the technology can be repurposed. Spelletich has collaborated with artists all over the world though his home base is in San Francisco. Kal works with bio-morphic sensors, (sometimes uncontrollable) that trigger his robots and provide viewers with a hands-on interactive experience. His work mines the space between what robots and humans can and cannot do. Recent exhibits of his work have been held in Namibia, Lubjianna, Berlin, Vienna, New York, India, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. A monographic exhibit of his work will be presented at Saint Mary's College in August 2019. Spelletich's practice is across genres and his work extends to curating exhibits and activism. His projects have been featured in the NY Times, PBS, and in other critical journals and media.

There is a saying that you can divorce your spouse, but you cannot divorce your kids. In short, you will need to interact with your ex-spouse well past the signing of the divorce decree. For some this means a nurturing co-parenting relationship. For others, this can represent a means to continue a dysfunctional relationship.
