Umso spannender, gilt die Schweiz 2021 doch als eines der heißen Siegesanwärter.Doch zuerst zu den News:Auch der zweite Versuch von Belarus wurde von der EBU als zu propagandistisch abgelehnt und das Land deswegen vom Bewerb 2021 ausgeschlossen. Belarus ist hoffentlich 2022 mit coolen Acts wieder dabei: VAL (2020) und Naviband (2017) haben sich zusammen getan und einen Song aufgenommen, mit dem sie die Protestbewegung in Belarus unterstützen wollen. Aber Achtung: You cannot vote for your own country. Ungeahnte Kreativität entwickeln Künstlerinnen und Künstler in Zeiten der Krise, natürlich auch die legendären Eurovision-Performer. Als Beispiel für eine interessante Kolaboration in Corona-Lock Down sei hier die Home Version von Helena Paparizou und Sergey Lazarev erwähnt, die seinen Hit "You Are The Only One" intonieren. An den Keyboards übrigens Dimitris Kontopoulos, langjähriger musikalischer Partner von Philip Kirkorov und einer der Komponisten des Songs. Unter seinem Hashtag #qsessions findet man auf youtube noch viele andere interessante musikalische Kombinationen. Der offizielle Youtube-Eurovision-Kanal der EBU zeigt wöchentlich ein einstündige Zusammenstellung von Eurovision Home Concerts, in jeder Episode zeigen eine Handvoll von ehemaligen und aktuellen Musikern ihre Konzerte in ihren eigenen vier Wänden. Coverversionen, ihre eigenen Hits, neue Songs und eine redaktionelle Einführung runden die Home Concerts ab. Und allwöchentlich bietet die EBU mit #Eurovisionagain ein gemeinsames Schauen mit den Fans. Dabei kommen ein paar ganz besondere Schmankerl zum Vorschein: So ist am 18. April der Song Contest aus dem Jahr 1997 aus Dublin online gegangen, zum ersten Mal ganz ohne Kommentatoren-Stimme und in ausgezeichneter Bildqualität. Aber, Achtung! Aufgrund der Urheberrechte ist der Jahrgang nur eine Woche öffentlich zu sehen, das heißt, am 25. April 2020 wird dieses Eurovision-Jahr wieder offline gehen. Und als Fußnote: Zwei von Marcos und Alkis' Lieblingssongs sind in dem Jahr zu hören. Beim OGAE Germany Fantreffen in München trafen Marco und Alkis Rasmussen. Jonas Flodager Rasmussen vertrat Dänemark 2018 in Lissabon mit Wikinger-Look und "Higher Ground" und erreichte damit den neunten Platz. Er studierte Dramaturgie an der Universität Aarhus, wurde Musicaldarsteller und begann in der Coverband Hair Metal Heröes. Er unterrichtet an der Performing Arts School der Viborg Cultural School und am Aarhus Theater Learning als Theater- und Schreiblehrer. Nach seinem Song Contest Beitrag 2018 erschien noch seine Single "Go Beyond" 2019. Aus dem Jahr 2019 hört er immer noch: "Arcade" von Duncan Laurence Sein Guilty Pleasure beim Song Contest sind die Olsen Brothers aus Dänemark, Gewinner des Eurovision Song Contests 2000. Und sein All Time Favorite: "Euphoria" von Loreen Lieblingssong Dänemarks: "Dansevise" von Jørgen & Grethe Ingmann. In der Kleinen Song Contest Geschichte am Schluss erzählt Alkis von einem Lied, dass es 1982 vom Niederländischen Vorentscheid nicht auf die - zugegeben winzige - Bühne von Harrogate geschafft hat. Auf der hatte bekanntlich nur ein Barhocker Platz. "Fantasy Eiland" von den Millionaires wurden damals nur zweite von drei Liedern. Der Song schaffte es aber in die Hitparaden weltweit, als die Studio-Gruppe Tight Fit es auf Englisch aufnahm und sich damit klanglich an den Erfolg der Song Contest-Sieger von 1981, Bucks Fizz, anhängen wollte.

Stella Jones vertrat Österreich beim Eurovision Song Contest 1995 in Dublin Österreich mit "Die Welt dreht sich verkehrt". Im Café Zartl erinnert sie sich bei Alkis und Marco an diesen Auftritt, ihren ersten Versuch 1990, ihre Background-Erfahrung 1996 und wem sie 2014 als Jury-Mitglied Punkte gab - vorausgesetzt sie kann sich erinnern. Aber zuerst einmal berichten Marco und Alkis nicht über Junior Eurovision, das läuft nämlich noch während wir im Café Zartl den Podcast aufzeichnen. Stella Jones ist bei Merci, Chérie zu Gast und sie erzählt von ihren Anfängen in einer sehr musikalischen Familie und ihrem Werdegang als Sängerin, aber auch von ihren aktuellen Projekten. Sie tourt seit fast zwanzig Jahren vor Weihnachten traditionell mit ihrem Projekt "Stella Jones & American Christmas Gospel", sie machte letztes Jahr bei der Tour von Andreas Gabalier mit und nahm letztes Jahr ein Album auf, dass sie ihrer verstorbenen Mutter Christine widmete. Aktuelle Tourdaten gibt es natürlich auf ihrer Webseite www.stelluna.com. Ihre Bandbreite reicht vom Jazz, zum Gospel bis hin zum Pop. Aber auch ungewöhnliche Zusammenarbeiten scheut sie nicht. Sie war Gastvocalistin beim kroatischen Projekt Buđenje auf "Bolje ne, ne, ne" Beim Eurovision Song Contest war Stella Jones 1995 mit "Die Welt dreht sich verkehrt". Allerdings war das nicht ihr erster Versuch, beim ESC teilzunehmen. Bereits 1990 war sie Teil der Formation "Papageno", die sich mit "Papagena Sonnenkind" um die Teilnahme bemühte. Geschickt hat Österreich damals Simone mit "Keine Mauern mehr", nachdem das im Vorentscheid erstplatzierte Duo disqualifiziert wurde. Sie erzählt, was es mit diesem Projekt auf sich hatte und wie knapp es damals war. Und sie erzählt von der tollen Zeit in Dublin, von der Faszination mit einem bestimmten Sänger, von den guten Kollegen und von den späteren musikalischen Angeboten, die sich durch den Auftritt beim Song Contest ergaben. Marco versucht einen seiner Lieblingslieder zu singen, der in diesem Jahr am Start war. Entscheidet ihr, ob es so klingt, wie das Original. 1996, ein Jahr später, war sie mit dem Vorarlberger George Nussbaumer erneut auf der großen Eurovision-Bühne . Sein "Weil's dir guat gat" machte einen sehr guten Eindruck und erreichte den zehnten Platz. Zusammen mit (unter anderem) Bettina Soriat und Cedric Lee Bradley war Stella Jones Teil des Background-Chores, der für den blinden Pianisten und Sänger den Gospel-Vibe lieferte. Beim legendären Eurovision-Finale von 2014 war Stella Jones Jurorin bei der Österreichischen Jury und hatte damals das Gefühl, dass viele Nummern austauschbar klingen. Wem sie damals ihre zwölf Punkte gegeben hat, weiß sie nicht mehr. Die Aufzeichnungen sind noch nicht öffentlich. Nachdem jetzt erst die gesamte Show von der EBU online gestellt worden ist, kann das noch dauern. Die drei Standard-Fragen am Schluss beantwortet sie wie folgt: Beim Eurovision-Lieblingssong aller Zeiten mag sie sich nicht zwischen "Merci, Chérie" von Udo Jürgens und Nicols "Ein bisschen Frieden" entscheiden, dafür hat sie eine Anekdote parat, in der es sich um weiße Gurkerln dreht. Und da sie während des Song Contests 2019 auf Tour war, hat sie das heurige Spektakel auch nicht verfolgt. In der Kleinen Song Contest-Geschichte am Schluss erzählt Alkis vom russischen Sänger Filip Kirkorov, der 1995 seinen ersten internationalen Auftritt feierte und nicht nur Stella Jones beeindruckte.. Es sollte nicht das letzte Antreten des flamboyanten Sängers, Komponisten und Produzenten sein. Sowohl die beiden Songs, mit denen Sergey Lazarev beim Song Contest begeisterte, als auch Ani Loraks legendäre "Shady Lady" stammen unter anderem aus seiner Feder. In seiner aktiven Zeit als Sänger coverte er gerne mal Song Contest-Songs wie "Diva" oder auch Party-Kracher wie Shantels "Disco Partizani" - was später wiederum zur Zusammenarbeit bei der kleinen Sitcom aus Moldawien führte, DoReDos "My Lucky Day" wurde von Shantel gemixt und dieser Einfluss ist eindeutig hörbar. 1995 allerdings war Kirkorov gerade frisch mit dem russischen Superstar Alla Pugacheva verheiratet, die zwei Jahre später 1997 beim Song Contest antrat. Das Lied "Primadonna" hatte sie damals aber selbst geschrieben. Und ganz am Schluss noch eine Berichtigung aus dem Podcast: Riverdance war tatsächlich schon 1994 und Michael Flatley war damals auch schon mit an Bord. 1995 war der Interval-Act "Lumen" des Komponisten Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin. Einer der Sänger dieses kleinen Chorwerks war übrigens Brian Kennedy, der später dann 2006 für Irland antrat.
