Two tech titans put the issue of government censorship up in lights this week. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg expressed remorse that he allowed the Biden administration to pressure him to suppress criticism of its policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. And X-owner Elon Musk correctly observed that amounted to a First Amendment violation. Unfortunately, in June, Team Biden critically assisted in the drafting and adoption of an international obligation mandating suppression of free speech in conflict with World Health Organization policies and prescriptions. That requirement is imposed by a new treaty amending the WHO's International Health Regulations in the event of criticism of the dictates of its Marxist Director General. Paging Messrs. Musk and Zuckerberg: We need the Senate to consider and reject this accord that breaches not only the First Amendment, but much of the rest of our Constitution, as well. This is Frank Gaffney.

Listening to The Shrink Next Door elicited a range of emotions in me, including angst, sadness, intrigue, and heartache. For those unfamiliar with the story, it revolves around a psychiatrist named Ike who isolates his patient, Marty, from his family, takes over his business, lives in his house, charges him over a million dollars, and makes him undertake various projects for him. We will discuss the podcast's characters as if they are fictional. The podcast, akin to House of Cards for the psychotherapy world, reveals the manipulation and betrayal that can occur behind the scenes. Just as House of Cards exposed viewers to the Machiavellian tactics in politics, The Shrink Next Door disrupts the sacred space of the therapy office. This week, I am joined by Dr. Eric Bender, a psychiatrist and psychotherapist, to discuss, The Shrink Next Door. Dr. Bender practices in San Francisco, has been featured multiple times on GQ's online show The Breakdown, Wired magazine's Tech Help, and on YouTube.

In this episode of The Procuretech Podcast, host James Meads explores the challenges of sourcing consultancy services and how to optimise the process. He is joined by Laurent Thomas, the co-founder and president of Consulting Quest. Together, they discuss the unique complexities of sourcing consultancy services and provide insights on how technology can help streamline the process. Tune in to learn more about this final frontier of procurement and discover strategies for sourcing consultancy services effectively. Can procurement tech help us source consulting services? This episode explores optimising consultancy sourcing through technology amidst today's challenging economic landscape. Laurent draws parallels between consultancy procurement and other professional services, emphasising the distinction lies in decentralised procurement usually being the norm for consultancy. A central theme is viewing consultancy as an investment, rather than mere cost-cutting. By employing structure and technology, organisations can lower costs and elevate service value. Laurent's company offers a platform with resources for this endeavour. Additionally, the episode acknowledges challenges tied to personal relationships and cronyism affecting senior-level sourcing decisions. In sum, it highlights the vital role of technology and structured methodologies in consultancy sourcing, promising cost reductions, added value, and informed procurement choices. This episode almost didn't happen. I rewrote it three times. I had to fully record it twice. I pray it'll be useful.I want to talk about whether our tech is helping us love God well, but at the heart of that conversation is a discussion about failure. God loves to use failure to achieve his purposes. He starts in 3:15 and hasn't looked back. He isn't scared by it, but he also isn't ok with it. If God could just ignore failure Jesus wouldn't be necessary. Instead God does something else: He uses failure. This matters in talking tech because most of our Drool Tech is aimed at getting around failure. Games give fail-proof adventures, social media gives fail-proof connections, and pornography gives fail-proof intimacy (no one has ever been turned down by porn). Yet that stuff can't bring us hope or peace, and some of it brings death to the very things we're hoping to nurture.Today's conversation looks at failure, how God uses it, and how we can use tech from hope and not for hope. It's ambitious, and I pray I pull it off.

After consecutive pandemic years, employee burnout has become a ubiquitous problem, impacting companies of every size, industry, and level. The consequences are devastating and far-reaching, negatively impacting people's personal and professional lives. For example, one employee survey found that a staggering 77 percent of employees are experiencing burnout at their current job. This reality is exacerbating already-high employee turnover rates, which reached historic highs this year, reorienting the workforce in real-time. As a result, four in five HR leaders say that mental health and employee well-being are top priorities for their companies. Today's episode discusses how Purpose Pulse enables companies and coaches to measure individual and organizational well-being. In addition, we explore how the combination of behavioral science and technology can help diagnose the root causes of disengagement, turnover, and burnout to allow organizations to allocate resources effectively to the most needed employee assistance programs.
World leaders are still trying to figure out how to handle the hundreds of millions of tons of plastic waste generated every year. Back in the 1990s, it was tough to switch on the TV and not see ads or shows offering viewers a simple solution: to reduce, reuse, and recycle plastics. Nice words, but it turns out that wasn't enough to solve the problem. New high tech methods have shown promise in breaking down plastics or creating new ones that are easier to recycle. But they're expensive alternatives. Will the economics work out? WSJ's Danny Lewis sorts through the future of plastics recycling.
