Kristen Wile has spent more than a decade documenting Charlotte's restaurant scene, and in that time she's watched the city transform from a place searching for its culinary identity into one drawing national attention. Michelin stars, Top Chef contestants and James Beard semifinalists may dominate the headlines today, but Wile argues Charlotte's rise didn't happen overnight. Instead, it's the result of years of growth, local talent, ambitious chefs and a dining community that has steadily built something worth noticing. In this live episode of The Charlotte Ledger Podcast, recorded at The Sharon in SouthPark, Wile — founder and editor of Unpretentious Palate — joins Ledger managing editor Ashley Fahey for a conversation about the forces shaping Charlotte's food scene. They discuss:How Charlotte evolved into a city chefs increasingly want to build careers in The growing challenges independent restaurants face from national chains and rising costs How takeout, changing drinking habits and labor shortages continue to reshape the industry Why the “regular” restaurant customer has largely disappeared The surprising rise of chicken tenders and other comfort foods during economic uncertainty Whether viral food trends actually help restaurants build lasting success How Charlotte diners can better support local restaurants Wile's favorite restaurants, dishes and hidden gems around Charlotte Why she believes Charlotte should stop looking to outsiders for validation of its food sceneToday's episode of The Charlotte Ledger Podcast is sponsored by Child Care Search, a service of Child Care Resources Inc. In this episode of the Young Adults Today Podcast, Josiah and Micah sit down with Pastor Derek Wile, Next Gen Associate Pastor at Faith Church in South Carolina. Derek shares his journey from Minnesota to South Carolina, how God led him into young adult ministry, and how his church is reaching young adults across nine locations with a sustainable, scalable model. You'll hear the story behind Together Nights and Table Nights, how Derek is building a lead team of young adult leaders, and why he believes young adults are a “forgotten group” that the church must intentionally pursue. The conversation gets incredibly practical for multi-site churches, church planters, and anyone trying to move from “launch and relaunch” to something that's actually sustainable. www.youngadults.today Add survey here:

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen chapter 47, narrated by Isaac BirchallSubscribe on YT or Join the Book Club on Patreon and support me as an independent creator :Dhttps://ko-fi.com/theessentialreadshttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfOFfvo05ElM96CmfsGsu3g/joinSummary:Mrs Dashwood listened attentively to Elanor's tale of Willoughby. She feels pity for him, but does not fully forgive him, for what he did to Eliza and her daughter. In the evening, Marianne starts to talk of Willoughby, and though it is very hard for her, she wishes to assure her family with knowledge that she is well. Elanor and her mother nonetheless try to reassure Marianne that she is wise to try and forget Willoughby as he would have ruined her life with his selfish lifestyle. Wile around the dinner table, the butler comes home and announces that he ran into Lucy and Mr. Ferrars in town. He says that they are married… Mrs. Dashwood and Marianne look directly at Eleanor. She is visibly upset. Mrs. Dashwood tries to get as much information out of their butler as she can, and after finding everything out, goes to her daughter. The family have lost their appetites, and sit in silence together…SEO stuff I don't want to do. Jane Austin's timeless classic Sense and Sensibility follows the story of two girls, Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, and their endeavors in love, marriage, and societal expectations. Love is not easy however, and Elinor finds her sense tested by her charming brother-in-law, while Marianne's sensibility brings her nothing but heartbreak.

Po napaści III Rzeszy na ZSRR 22 czerwca 1941 r. Litwini liczyli na zmianę własnej sytuacji politycznej. Działacze z Litewskiego Frontu Aktywistów (LAF) 23 czerwca 1941 r. wzniecili „powstanie czerwcowe”, a dzień później ogłosili powstanie Rządu Tymczasowego. Przystąpili do tworzenia własnej policji, wojska, a także administracji. Niemcy jednak po dwóch miesiącach rozwiązali litewskie organy władzy, jego przywódcę zesłali do obozu koncentracyjnego, a pozostałe instytucje i ich członków włączyli we własny system okupacyjny. Wówczas jawnie działające władze litewskie zeszły do podziemia. Konkret, perspektywa i obalanie mitów.

Third Person met up with the incredible folks from Worldbuilding for Masochists to discuss what it's like worldbuild as a team. Worldbuilding means getting to “play god” – so how does that take a different shape when you're part of a pantheon rather than the One True Ruler of your world? Xen, Matt Roen, and Sara Wile, the creative trio behind Midst, a surreal sci-fi fantasy audio drama now produced by Critical Role Productions, join Worldbuilding for Masochists to discuss co-creating a world and the stories that happen within it! When working as a team, how do you divide the labor? What's the balance of talents on your team, and how can you best get those skills to flow together? Words, art, sounds, shapes, motion -- all these tools can help to tell a larger story. How is co-worldbuilding for an audio drama like or unlike other forms of cooperative storytelling, like theater, gaming, and immersive experiences? We also discuss the joy of crafting the intricate details of a world and how creating the tiny details can actually communicate a great deal about the worldbuilding. Learn more about your ad choices. [Transcript TK] Our Guests: The trio (also known as Third Person) are master world-builders. Their newest series in the Midst Cosmos, UNEND, takes listeners on a cosmic journey with an unconventional crew aboard a mysterious, supernatural ship—a story with the adventurous, space-western spirit of Firefly. The story combines psychological depth, moral ambiguity, and unexpected humor, brought to life by their unique collaborative process. They divide creative roles—Xen (sounds), Sara (pictures), and Matt (words)—yet approach every stage of worldbuilding as a team. The Midst Cosmos is the surreal, reality-bending, sci-fantasy setting of our three standalone series: Midst, Moonward: A Midst Roleplaying Story, and our new addition UNEND. Talking place several decades after the events of Midst and Moonward, UNEND focuses on a supernatural ship and a remarkable crew set forth on an expedition to explore the highest heights, deepest depths, and furthest reaches of the known cosmos. But their journey is fraught with peril as they discover truths and realities far stranger than any of them could ever have imagined. You can listen to all three series now on your favorite podcast app and on the Midst Podcast YouTube channel! OR if you want to unlock bonus content like music, art downloads, AMAs with the narrators, AND support the story, we invite you to Join the Fold at Midst.co!

We often think of mercy as just simply God forgiving us for being in the wrong. Wile that is a big part of God's mercy, it doesn't cover the rich and robustness of what God's mercy is for us in scripture. When we go to Jesus and we see his loyal love lived out for us, we gain better understanding of what it means to receive God's mercy, and also be the ones who are merciful toward others.
