Today Nick and I kick off the day talking about retail: there are more earnings due out today, and it's a big day for companies like Target, TJX franchises, Lowes, and Children's Place. We also briefly discuss Bitcoin—which is down a bit today—but still around the 50% retrace area that we had discussed last week. Additionally, an analytics company that is fairly new to trading called Palantir bought $50 million of gold; this alludes to some of the insights they have about the future of gold, and perhaps they see something in store for this precious metal.Highlights:-There are more earnings due out today; it's a big day for retail (Target, TJX companies, Home Depot, Lowes)-Retail wasn't so favorable yesterday, but is quite favorable today-When we look at Bitcoin today, it's down a little bit but is still around the 50% retrace area we discussed last week. If it can consolidate, it can perhaps make another push. We should still be cautious at this stage-Palantir bought $50 million of gold, and this is a company that has not been trading long—they primarily deal with data collection. They may be accumulating gold because they see something out there-It is not only Palantir that does this: there are a lot of analytic companies that purchase things like gold because of the insights they have-Gold will probably not surpass the 1840 levelUseful Links:www.inthemoneystocks.comwww.financialsurvivalnetwork.com

Fourteen years ago Nick battled drugs/addiction, the loss of his brother Christopher from a tragic motorcycle accident, and the loss of his football career and medically had died, leaving Nick feeling disconnected and hopeless. Nick went through multiple detox centers, treatments, and run-ins with the law to fight his addiction but found himself struggling in many ways until one day he met a man who shared a hospital room with him and asked him a question not many would ask about death. Today Nick is an avid volunteer in his community at the Aris Foundation and the founder of his own non-profit, Lost Ones Found. His community work and dedication to helping other individuals with addiction has brought him on stage speaking at a local high school and sharing his mantra about his journey and outlook on life, "Selflessness above selfishness". Nick's goal is to bridge the gap between substance abuse centers/treatment centers and purpose-driven life. 1. Markets are starting out higher across the board to begin the week. The tech heavy NASDAQ Composite is leading the charge trading up 1.2%. Volume trends are very light so far today. Light volume favors a buoyant to upside market.2. The crypto currencies are bouncing today. Bitcoin is actually back to 38,000. Traders must remember, a close below the 200-day moving average which is around the 30,000 level will likely trigger another sell down to 21,000 and possibly 17,000. 3. Gold/Silver nice uptick. Gold up $7 to 1884, it’s holding up extremely well. Looking pretty good. Further consolidation is welcome. Silver is having a nice move. Just under $28. Great set-up too. Once it breaks $28 and then $30, it’s off to the races. $34 is the next pivotal point. Selling pressure is minimal. Today Nick got back into GDX calls.

Being present is in many ways an invitation to hapiness. But it is not easy. With all the distractions around us, it's hard to stay focused and awake to the present moment. When we're in control of the way our mind works, we can choose to stay in touch with our feelings and be more open about what's happening around us. This will allow us to live according to our values and get rid of unnecessary stress. Today Nick and I share a few of our favorite ways to cultivate the skill of being present.
Hard conversations are essential for optimal growth. If you are avoiding them for any reason this episode is going to be for you. Today Nick and I share tips on how to make hard conversations a bit easier. We hope you take some of these tools and apply them to your everyday lives to be better.

Today Nick is coming at you from on the move. Life has been crazy but he's not letting that stop him. Nick asks listeners, “What is the vision for your life?”. If you don't know, now's the time to figure it out. If you do know, then what are you doing to accomplish it? Nick knows what it means to be on top of the world, as he was in 2018, but just a year later he found it had all come crashing down. What happened? As his mentor Garrett J. White pointed out, Nick had lost his vision, his clarity, and his certainty. Garrett reminded Nick how much and how fast things can change if you simply do the work. It's one thing to see your vision, but it's another thing to do the work to achieve it. So, give yourself permission to unlock your potential. -- Next90 is about leveling up your life by breaking it down 90 days at a time. This is the tenth session in our biblical study through the book of 1 Corinthians. Today Nick spends some time in chapter 4 vv 7-13. Who are the real Kings? Who are the real paupers? The city of Corinth was a city of temples but not the primarily kind that Satan wanted - not so much a city filled with the shrine temples of Apollo or Aphrodite, not so much a city dominated by the colossal features of the Acrocorinth; but a city permeated by disruptive, holy, maturing temples of Yahweh, disciples filled with the gracious Holy Spirit of God. As we'll come to next week, "...the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power."God knows that His people need to experience more power. As we continue to embark on this "Work for Reformers" we are increasingly finding ourselves out of our depth in terms of space, capacity and time. Therefore, if you're interested in helping to regularly support what we're doing, please consider regular giving here. https://firebrandnotes.com/giveThank you!Come, Lord!Nick & Mairi xx

We also have heard from Joe Sanok and Robert Blacklidge about entrepreneurship. Nick is actually both an investor and an entrepreneur in real estate. Nick has also spent a lot of time mentoring others and teaching at the local real estate investor group he is a member of. Real estate investing is another avenue to building wealth and just like stocks or anything else can be intimidating when you don't know much about it. Nick has been around real estate since he was a child, so if anybody can break down it down into something digestible its him. Music by Misha Zarins. Today Nick sits down with creator and CEO of the Sportsmen's Nation Podcast Network, Dan Johnson. Dan harvested an incredible buck this past fall and wanted to try something new, the heart. We breakdown some of his initial expectations of the organ, and unpack the reaction from himself and the family members he served. Along with some other banter, this is a great conversation. Enjoy.Show Notes:Dan Johnson is the Host of several podcasts including his own Nine Finger Chronicles. Wanting to create a place where relatable, dedicated, and unique content would be available for a wide range of hunters, Dan created the Sportsmennation Podcast Network. Not only has he assembled a great line up of Podcasts, but writers, videographers, and (Lord willing) a library of wild game recipes.Dan harvested an impressive buck this year and for a chance to take something away from the gut pile he pulled the heart. We discuss how the heart has it’s own unique characteristics that make it a desirable organ to keep, yet has a touch of odd factor that can turn away finicky eaters. After some trimming of vessels and outer layer, the heart shows it’s unique grain. Because it being the heart, it has a richer, bold flavor. You can’t mistake the venison tones. Dan referred to it as a slight “gamey” flavor, but not off putting. Together we draft up 3 dishes:Dish One: Heart Rings. Basic, easy, hunt camp crowd pleaser. Slice heart into ½” rings, season and sear. On the larger rings, crack and egg on the inside, sear each side, serve.Dish Two: Heart fajitas. Traditional Mexican dish, usually accompanied by tongue, liver, and tripe. Slice thin and a quick marinade in some adobo sauce, lime, oil, or a basic mexican seasoning. Pro Tip, add some cocoa powder to your Mexican sauces and marinade. Sear or grill, add to grilled veggies and tortillas.Dish Three: Iowa Jalepeno Heart PoppersEasy on the eyes, a blast of flavor. Half and core Jalepenos. Careful to not blast your face with juice or rub your eyes. Fill with: cream cheese, cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked Peprika. Slice heart thin and add a slice to the top of the spread, wrap in bacon, grill poppers to a nice sear/touch of char. Huntavore is Powered by Simplecast
