The four-day event was marked with several impressive high sellers including a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird pedal car that sold for $59,000 and a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS that claimed $242,000. Then it's on to Mecum's pair of October collector car consignment auctions, Chattanooga and Chicago, before diving into the details of Ferrari's all-new Purosangue. The SUV is a first for the luxury automaker and features a naturally aspirated V-12 engine. Then the guys chat about Chrysler's send-off to the long running 300 sedan: the 2023 300C. The limited-edition version will come equipped with a 6.4L Hemi V-8 engine producing 485 HP and 475 lb-ft of torque. Then Matt and John close out with a look at the history and heritage of Ford's iconic pony car, discussing the monumental million-dollar Mustangs that have crossed the Mecum auction block in recent years. In Segment 2, the guys chat with Ed Krenz, chief engineer for the Ford Mustang. Ed shares how the all-new, seventh-generation Mustang was developed and how the key emphasis remained on delivering driving fun. The guys then recap Mecum's Monterey Auction, breaking down the Top 10 sellers, which all sold for more than $1 million dollars. After some impressions from attending the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, Matt and John highlight their favorite consignments at Mecum's upcoming Dallas auction. John likes a 1955 Chevrolet Corvette Roadster, while Matt is saddled up with a pair of SVT Cobra Mustangs. In the second segment of this week's episode, Matt and John are on-site at Elmer's Auto and Toy Museum in Fountain City, Wisconsin, joined by Rick Duellman. A five-storey figure who graced Queen Street in Auckland once a year for 60 years has been driven out of town. The city's huge Santa Claus was dismantled for the last time earlier this year and he's been trucked down to the National Transport and Toy Museum in Wanaka where he arrived today.
