On a freezing day in 2017, host Matt Marinovich walked past an ordinary-looking stucco home in Leonia, N.J. that had a shocking history. Since then, he's been obsessed with crimes that happen where we least expect: in peaceful looking homes on quiet tree-lined streets. Take a walk with Matt to the end of the block, to the home everyone whispers about. Jeszcze trudniej wyjaśnić dziecku panowanie nad emocjami i wybuchami. Dlatego przygotowałam cztery proste podpowiedzi, które pomogą naprowadzić konkretną sytuację emocjonalną na dobre tory. https://nietylkodlamam.pl/cztery-proste-kroki-do-zrozumienia-dzieciecych-emocji/

Spring break is here! Whether you waited until the last minute to plan or you're on a budget, there's a lot of places to enjoy spring weather right in the tri-state area. Travel + Leisure's editor-in-chief Jacqui Gifford shares her picks for the best staycations in New Jersey and we also take your calls to hear yours. *This segment is guest-hosted by Kerry Nolan* Listeners called in with their own recommendations for the best New Jersey destinations: Alex in Allendale: Northern New Jersey has great outdoor activities -- and the Ramapo Mountains are accessible via transit. Hank in Fort Lee: The Asbury to Riegelsville (PA) road off Route 78, take it into Pennsylvania. "One of the most beautiful roads to drive ever. Orchards and rivers. Plus a cute little bridge. You get off the highway and you're in a different world." Lotte in Boonton: Boonton is a great historical town easy to get to from New York, with good hiking and a beautiful library. Yay to the Boonton, NJ rec! Fabulous and funky little town. Gorgeous countryside and city views just a mile away. And @BoontonCoffeeCo of course. ☺️ — Eileen Tomarchio (@EileenTomarchio) March 23, 2023 Lauren in Bergen County: Asbury Park! The Silverball Pinball Museum and also a bar called The Wonder Bar with a Yappy Hour for dogs. Outside the @WonderBarAP — a music venue across from the Asbury Park boardwalk on the Jersey Shore — #dogs jump from plastic pool to pool and lap from a sprinkler while their owners have a drink during Yappy Hour: https://t.co/wj63onUUKf pic.twitter.com/YKsMdF1KCL — Sunset Vet Clinic (@sunsetvetclinic) August 25, 2022 Jacoba in Montclair: Branch Brook Park has more cherry blossom trees than Washington, D.C. Marshall in Leonia: High Point State Park is in the extreme NW corner of the state near the New York and Pennsylvania borders, with amazing hills and small mountains. Trisha in Morristown: Morristown is a hidden gem with the Ford Mansion, Schuyler Hamilton Mansion, and great hiking trails and excellent food. @AllOfItWNYC Can I suggest Morristown for a day trip. And center the trip on Morristown National Historical Park. So Wash HQ (with a great museum), Jockey Hollow - then stroll the main drag (South St) and find a restaurant for a great meal. — TM (@TMcK_FineArt) March 23, 2023 Roger in Clinton: Frenchtown is a little town on the Delaware River with charm and good restaurants. Other suggestions: @AllOfItWNYC This is Steve from Lynbrook NY and one of my favorite places is Stokes State Forest Park located in Sandyston, Montague and Frankford in Sussex County. Amazing trails, tons of wildlife and plenty to do for outdoor lovers — Steve Binger Bingham (@stevebinger1) March 23, 2023 @AllOfItWNYC This is Steve from Lynbrook NY and one of my favorite places is Stokes State Forest Park located in Sandyston, Montague and Frankford in Sussex County. About Red Root Marketing Founder and Owner Jessica Maarek Jessica founded Red Root Marketing 10 years ago in response to a need she observed in the local business communities of northern New Jersey. Small business owners needed help connecting to their customers, prospects and communities to expand their brand awareness and to get support. Jessica was able to develop a social media marketing approach, rooted deeply in creating community connections, that allowed her to bring awareness to these local businesses in an efficient and effective manner through grassroots and hyperlocal techniques. Jessica grew up in Wisconsin, lived in France for 6 years and has been on the East Coast with her family for over 20 years. In Paris, Jessica was Quality Control Manager in a business language school and quickly learned how to market the courses being taught by over 70 teachers to C-Suite executives. Leveraging that skill on the local level in New Jersey, Jessica became event coordinator at The Fine Grind Coffee Bar where she orchestrated a full-scale guerrilla marketing campaign, which led her to connect with other local businesses as a Marketing and Social Media consultant. #growwithredroot www.redrootmarketing.com Red Root Marketing (@redrootmarketing) • Instagram photos and videos Red Root Marketing | Facebook (17) Jessica (Social Media Marketing Guru) Maarek | LinkedIn Profile / Twitter Fela Davis host “Members At Work” Podcast! Education is the Industry we are focusing on this month in our monthly Roundtable series. Join a panel of members from the Fort Lee Regional Chamber currently doing business in this industry, for an in-depth discussion of the challenges and opportunities created by Covid and what these educators are doing to move forward successfully. The conversation this month will cover these issues: In Education, you had to be concerned about the teachers and the students – two different groups with different needs and concerns. Please share with us the specific challenges you experienced, and how you dealt with them. For those of you that got involved with virtual learning, is that something you will consider using post-covid for some classes – since you can reach a world-wide audience that way? For small businesses there have been state and federal programs that were developed to help financially. Did teachers get paid when the schools were closed? How did you pay for all the changes that had to be made to keep everyone distanced and safe and in some cases, virtual? Have these changes drained financial resources? What is your strategy for the new school semesters starting after the summer? Are they different than 2020? Are they similar to pre-Covid? Are teachers required to be vaccinated? What would you like to say to parents in the audience, about precautions that have and will be taken? Do you feel good about the way your school(s) handled this situation? Hindsight is always 20/20. Looking back and knowing what you know now, what, if anything would you have done differently? We look forward to an event in which attendees come away with a clearer picture of where we've been, where we're going and how we will get there – together, successfully and profitably. Phil Goldfeder chats with us about Cross River Bank in the heart of Fort Lee! A fast-growing financial services organization that merges the established expertise and traditional services of a bank with the forward-thinking offerings of a technology company. Since its founding in 2008, Cross River has developed strong strategic partnerships with leading technology companies, enabling them to focus on their own growth without hindering innovation, while maintaining a strong focus on compliance. Cross River provides a highly-secure banking platform and comprehensive suite of products encompassing lending, payments and risk management, that enables its partners to deliver responsible financial solutions to empower consumers anytime, anywhere. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Cross River was one of the first banks in the country offering loans via the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) to every small business, without requiring preexisting banking relationships. As a trusted community bank and preferred SBA lender, Cross River's innovative approach made it one of the top 15 lenders in the country and amongst the top 5 in loan volume, originating close to $6 billion in loans to more than 160,000 American small businesses. In addition to building its own comprehensive lending platform, Cross River partnered with over 30 leading technology companies to allow thousands of additional businesses to apply for and receive funding safely and efficiently. With an average loan size of less than $36,000, the absolute lowest among the nation's leading lenders, Cross River was able to support nearly 800,000 employees and their families. https://www.crossriver.com/ https://www.crossriversba.com/ https://www.crossriver.com/covid-19-community-affairs Listen to past Members At Work Podcasts on Apple Podcast, Spotify and iHeart Radio!
