Standard Uranium Vice President of Exploration Sean Hillacre joined Steve Darling from Proactive to announce two key developments as it continues to advance its uranium exploration efforts in Canada's Athabasca Basin. The company has signed a definitive property option agreement with Vital Battery Metals Inc., granting Vital the right to earn a 75% interest in the 12,265-hectare Corvo Project in the eastern Athabasca Basin. The project includes over 29 kilometres of exploration strike length across three northeast-southwest magnetic low trends, coincident with electromagnetic (EM) conductors and structural fault zones — key geological features for uranium targeting. Historic drill holes TL-79-3 and TL-79-5 returned uranium intercepts of 0.057% U₃O₈ over 3.5 metres and 0.065% U₃O₈ over 0.1 metres, respectively. Additionally, the Manhattan Showing on the property reported surface values of 59,800 ppm uranium. A recent high-resolution geophysical survey has enhanced target resolution, providing a solid foundation for future drilling. Standard Uranium has also completed a detailed ground gravity survey over the Wishbone, McNie, and Armbruster South targets at its 48,443-acre Sun Dog Project, located near Uranium City on the northern margin of the Athabasca Basin. The survey, combined with existing geophysical data, has outlined several high-priority drill targets. Drilling at the previously untested Wishbone target during the 2024 program returned anomalous uranium from all eight drill holes. Further gravity anomalies and favorable structures at McNie, Armbruster South, and Spring Dome offer additional kilometres of untested potential for high-grade, basement-hosted uranium mineralization. Standard Uranium's exploration strategy continues to focus on advancing de-risked, high-impact drill targets across a growing portfolio of highly prospective projects in the world's premier uranium district. #proactiveinvestors #standarduraniumltd #tsxv #stnd #otcqb #sttdf #mining #uranium #sundogproject #StandardUranium #BatteryMetals #AthabascaBasin #CorvoProject #SunDogProject #JuniorMining #MiningNews #CriticalMinerals #ProactiveInvestors

I'm joined by Garrett Ainsworth, President and CEO of District Metals (TSX.V:DMX - OTCQB:DMXCF - Nasdaq First North: DMXSE SDB), to break down the newly announced resource estimate at the Viken Deposit in Sweden. With 1.5 billion pounds of U₃O₈ at 161 ppm, Viken now ranks as the second-largest uranium deposit in the world. Key topics covered: Major upgrade from the 2014 historical estimate with 44% growth in Inferred and 900%+ in Indicated categories. Garrett explains how the company advanced the resource without drilling, leveraging historical data. Comparison to other global uranium projects, including Olympic Dam and legacy M&A deals in Southern Africa. Strategic value of the deposit's polymetallic makeup, which includes vanadium, nickel, molybdenum, copper, zinc, and potentially rare earth elements. Plans for upcoming field work, geophysics, and preparation for a PEA (Preliminary Economic Assessment) pending Sweden's uranium moratorium vote in September. Why this resource could have far-reaching strategic and permitting benefits for Sweden and the EU. If you have any follow up questions for Garrett please email me at Fleck@kereport.com. Students at the University of Oregon are calling for university administrators to take more action to protect international students amid an immigration crackdown on college campuses across the country. At least four international students at UO have had their visas revoked, along with 13 at Oregon State University and two at Portland State. At a rally on UO’s campus last week, students demanded that the university not comply with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, notify students of ICE activity on campus and allow students whose visas have been revoked to remain enrolled, among other things. Jess Fisher is a steering committee member for the UO Young Democratic Socialists of America, which organized the rally. She joins us with more details on student demands and how ICE actions are changing the mood on campus.

Celebrating 5 years of Classic Trance! This was a special DJ set where the tracklist was chosen at random by YOU the listeners. For the past couple of weeks on Instagram I have been asking people to choose random numbers between certain ranges. Those numbers that were chosen I correlated with specific tracks in each episode, 1 from each episode, and put the playlist together just hours before playing live without predetermining a playlist ahead of time. Basically, when I used to play vinyl sets, I would have friend come over and randomly select 10 vinyls from my collection and I would try to make a good 1 hour set form whatever they chose (even if they had no idea what those records sounded like). I can't believe how many people ended up choosing the same the same numbers (tracks), and without knowing what you were choosing... the tracklist turned out to be INSANE! Check it/listen for yourself... 1 tracks from each episode (plus a bonus track I chose myself to make an even 60). OK, so we don't actually cover Dan Lanning's new contract in today's episode of The Traffic Report — we recorded Wednesday afternoon — but the big man signing a big $$$ deal is news enough that it's worth leading today's post. The terms? The fourth-year Ducks coach has reportedly agreed to an amended contract that will increase his salary to nearly $11 million per year through 2031. The contract will be up for approval on Friday during a UO board of trustees meeting. What does this mean? For a program that considers itself one of the top in the nation, it's now paying its top job like it. Lanning's new deal will make him the fourth-highest paid coach in college football, according to CBS Sports, increasing his current contract by $2 million annually. Here's the list of football coaches making more than $10 million a year: 1. Kirby Smart, Georgia $13.2 million 2. Ryan Day, Ohio State $12.5 million 3. Dabo Swinney, Clemson $11.5 million 4. Dan Lanning, Oregon $11 million 5. Steve Sarkisian, Texas $10.8 million 6. Kalen DeBoer, Alabama $10.25 million7. Lincoln Riley, USC $10.1 million8. Bill Belichick, UNC $10 million Pretty good company there. But after a 35-6 start to his career, with a 12-0 regular season and a Big Ten Championship in his third year as a head coach, it's hard to make the argument that Lanning isn't worth the money when compared to his peers. It's also interesting to start thinking of the longevity of Lanning. Chip Kelly coached four seasons at Oregon — same with Mark Helfrich and Mario Cristobal. Should Lanning make it to the end of this deal — there's the same $20 million buyout — the coach who came to Oregon as an outsider will have made it longer in Eugene than anyone not named Bellotti, Brooks or Casanova. OK, now to the podcast: This week Justin and I have a range of topics to dive into, from Oregon's home finale on Tuesday against Indiana to what might be the end of spring football to the best goosebump-moments stadiums can provide. Offerings Acceptable to God k/d]Zj/nfO{ u|x0fof]Uo e]l6 “In and through the practice of offering, work and worship become one.”[1] Pastors and worship leaders have a responsibility to develop Sunday liturgies that can confront and respond to marketplace malformations. Worship trains our imagination that in turn shapes how we inhabit our workweek: [Saturday] worship is not some escape from ‘the work week.' To the contrary, our worship rituals train our hearts and stir our desires toward God and his kingdom so that, when we are sent from worship to take up our work, we do so with a habituated orientation toward the Lover of our souls. This is why we need to think about habit-shaping practices-vocational liturgies,'- that we can sustain this love throughout the week.” (You are What You Love, 187) “Workers are people who are integral to the mission of God.” Dorothy Sayers, Creed or Chaos? Our failed offerings: There are offerings that are not acceptable to God, such as Cain's offerings, Eli son's and Saul's offerings. Why? They are only for show, shallow, technical to get something back. Our hearts are not in it. God's desires are not considered. Love for our neighbors and world around are not measured appropriately. Are we offering (bringing to God) that he does not like or accept? Matt and Cory say in their book Work & Worship, church needs “Reimagining of the offerings”. “Offering can return to its ancient focus whereby the community renders its whole life and whole labor to God in Worship (Work & Worship, 236). How can we reimagine offering whole lives to God as a living and working sacrifice? (Rom 12:1). They say, “In light of our investigations of Scripture, history, and the global church, there are four principles that can inform the future of the offering rituals. Offerings need to strive to be more embodied, creational, vocational and communal.” (237). By this they mean “offerings need to engage our bodies, our material world, our daily work, and they need to actively connect worshippers to one another and their city.” (237). During this Thanksgiving season, we will follow these themes, and principles from the book, particularly found in Chapter 9 “Offerings of the Early Church”. In light of our reimagined offerings, we as Cross-Way want to be a consciously offering church, a church that loves God, gives whole life to the mission of God, and loves our city and the world (starting with Nepal). Thanksgiving is a season of harvest. Even though many of us living in the city do not farm, our lives are closely connected with the products of the soil. We must eat food that our lands produce. We work various jobs each day, and earn money, which allows us to be fed and live. We all want to live healthy lives that pleases God. Offerings acceptable to God is a Thanksgiving series that will explore a) Why God of Creation asked for offerings? B) What do offerings in the OT and NT mean? C) What are principles that the historical church have valued as acceptable to God? D) What kinds of offerings should we bring to the Lord, that are acceptable to him (and what kinds are not acceptable to him)?[1] Work & Worship: Reconnecting Our Labor and Liturgy, Matthew Kaemingk, Cory B. Dawgman.com's Jack McCauley and Luke Mounger get into the holiday spirit this week with their Thanksgiving game week preview, but it's not the Apple Cup! Now that both Oregon and Washington are in the Big Ten and Washington State is in the college football wilderness, it's time to turn the page and look at the rivalry between UO and UW as the true big Pacific Northwest rivalry game. But before they go into the meat of the game against the No. 1 Ducks, the guys recap the UCLA win at Husky Stadium that got the Huskies to bowl eligibility. And that chat folds right into one of the big conversations for Washington fans this week; should Demond Williams start at quarterback instead of Will Rogers? The conversation then merges into a breakdown of Washington's defense and what they can try and do to stop a potent Oregon attack, and then the tables are flipped. What can Washington's offense do against Oregon's stout defense, especially their pass rush? After a break, the guys go into the players they expect to shine in their Bet to Bark segment, and then go into their Betting B1G talk where they look at other conference games and compare their season-long predictions. And then to finish up they go into their Confidence Intervals, which measures just how good they are feeling about a Washington win in Eugene. Interview with Troy Boisjoli, CEO of Atha Energy Corp. Our previous interview: https://www.cruxinvestor.com/posts/atha-energy-tsxvsask-north-americas-largest-uranium-exploration-portfolio-6037Recording date: 25th November 2024ATHA Energy, a uranium exploration company with an extensive land portfolio, is making strategic advancements in a market poised for significant growth. With over 8.5 million acres across Canada's premier uranium jurisdictions, including the Athabasca and Thelon Basins, ATHA's flagship Angilak project in Nunavut is at the forefront of its development strategy. The project has a historical resource of 43 million pounds (Mlbs) of uranium at an average grade of 0.69% U₃O₈, with exploration indicating the potential to expand that resource to an upper target of 98 Mlbs. The Angilak project is a standout asset, offering both scalability and development advantages. Located in Nunavut, a mining-friendly jurisdiction where 47% of GDP is mining-related, the project benefits from existing supply chains and infrastructure established by neighboring operators like Agnico Eagle. Unlike many deeper uranium deposits, Angilak's mineralization begins at or near the surface, reducing development complexity and costs. “At Angilak, [the resource] comes right to surface—it's sub-cropping,” noted ATHA CEO Troy Boisjoli, highlighting this key advantage.ATHA's leadership team brings extensive uranium experience, including expertise from Cameco and NexGen. Boisjoli, who served as Chief Geologist at Cameco's Eagle Point Mine, sees parallels between Angilak and his previous operations. He emphasized, “Eagle Point had a very similar profile to Angilak—70 million pounds remaining at 0.7%.” The team's capability spans early-stage exploration through to operational development, positioning ATHA to efficiently de-risk and scale its assets. The company employs a disciplined capital allocation strategy, directing 70% of its resources toward Angilak while investing the remaining 30% in discovery-stage projects like the Gemini property in Saskatchewan and other generative opportunities. This approach ensures near-term growth and a robust pipeline of future prospects, mitigating risks associated with reliance on a single project. Assay results from Gemini are expected in Q1 2025, adding another layer of potential upside.ATHA's timing aligns with a favorable uranium market. The industry is experiencing a resurgence, driven by long-term contracting cycles, growing nuclear energy adoption, and limited supply. As Boisjoli observed, “We're entering a long-term contracting cycle similar to 2006, when demand significantly outpaced supply and created upward pressure on uranium prices.” Recent production challenges from competitors like Paladin and Peninsula highlight the market's tightness and underscore the need for scalable, high-quality assets like Angilak.Angilak's exploration results further enhance its appeal. A 10,000-meter drill program conducted in 2023 demonstrated mineralization across all 25 holes, validating the resource's growth potential. Boisjoli emphasized ATHA's rigorous approach, which relies on hard data rather than speculative geophysical targets, ensuring confidence in the project's scalability. For investors, ATHA Energy presents a compelling case. With a flagship asset primed for resource expansion, a seasoned leadership team, and a disciplined approach to exploration and development, ATHA is well-positioned to capitalize on the growing uranium market. The combination of timing, expertise, and a diversified asset base offers a unique opportunity for those seeking exposure to this generational uranium opportunity.—Learn more: https://cruxinvestor.com/companies/atha-energySign up for Crux Investor: https://cruxinvestor.com
Research into domestic violence has found that when a professional football team has an unexpected loss in its hometown, intimate partner violence can increase by 10%. A new analysis from researchers at the University of Oregon found that this effect is amplified in states with legalized sports betting. Sports gambling is currently legal in 38 states, including Oregon and Washington. Thirty states – including Oregon – also allow mobile sports betting, which researchers found further increased the chance of a spike in intimate partner violence. Kyutaro Matsuzawa and Emily Arnesen are both economics PhD candidates at UO. They join us with more details on their analysis.
An unbelievable sports weekend that began with World Series history, can Yankees come back, are UO and UGA in their own tier...how dominant were the Ducks, what can OSU do, what to make of Huskies and Cougs....it takes 2 segments to recap the NFL weekend...the Blazers get their first win, and a sports confluence tonight.
For the last decade, even as Oregon reached a national championship game under Mark Helfrich and won a Rose Bowl under Mario Cristobal, it's felt like the UO program had still been chasing the ghost of the Chip Kelly era. The coolness. The popularity. The branding. The dominance. But after Saturday's win against Ohio State, that era is finally beginning to feel like a long time ago.Justin Myers joined me on this week's Traffic Report to dive in on the thought. The I-5 Corridor is a reader-supported publication.
