This week on Miami Vice: Crockett and Tubbs get caught up in a paramilitary plot to assassinate a Cuban dignitary when a drug deal goes bust and the dealer and a fellow cop get shot. The feds get involved when Vice starts digging into Victor Vasquez, who did work for them after he defected from Cuba and throw a wrench in their plans. Things get hairier when a meet between Vasquez and Zamora with Tubbs posing undercover as Cooper escalate from just a rip-off to an off...period and Crockett is taken hostage in the thick, jungle-like forest. The paramilitary group known as the La Segunda Brigada are planning to assassinate the Cuban Deputy Commissioner of Prisons who is in town in Miami, who is definitely not keeping a low profile by riding a limo with a Cuban flag (and in a goof an American flag). Marina got a visit from the hat man earlier this week so forgive any mistakes or mispronounced words! Susan Worley of Southwest Automated Security (SAS) breaks down the 1-2-3's of the How's and Why your fence company should expand and grow into Gate Operators, Access Controls, and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV). She explains how it's MORE money, BETTER margins, and LESS time on the job. #WinWIN *Find out how SAS can service you and your company's needs by calling225-753-7742 or visiting the their website at: https://www.southwestautomated.com/contact/sas-baton-rouge/ (https://www.southwestautomated.com/contact/sas-baton-rouge/) *To inquire about licensing in Louisiana go to the LA State Fire Marshalls website at http://www.lasfm.org/ • https://linktr.ee/myfencelife (CLICK HERE) - To learn more about Dan & Cannon AND the Software / Industry Tools they talk about. SHOW NOTES: 1) Optimizing Your Growth -Fence 5.5% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) and an average install takes 8-16 hours residential -Gate operators 5.6% CAGR and an average install takes 4-6 hours residential AND commercial -Access control 6.48% CAGR -CCTV (Closed Circuit Television) 13.1% CAGR. -The more you can offer your customer the more you will make. -How often do you turn down jobs, or have to contract / sub out jobs? **You're leaving money on the table if so.** 2) State Requirements -The only states requiring licensing are: Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada, and Oklahoma. -More and more states are looking into having licensing (Florida is next on the list) -That's why Southwest Automated Security is working so closely with the AFA and now the FWA. -The AFA and FWA's goal is to legitimize the industry. -That includes fence installers, gate installers and access control installers. -Louisiana requires you to be one or all of the following: -Licensed Electrician -Licensed Gate Operator -Licensed Contractor -If you're in Mississippi, Nevada or Oklahoma contact your State Fire Marshall for required licenses - As of right now, the AFA is focusing on the education and certification of each with the FWA on the heels of implementing the same protocols -Testing is held through the Accreditation & Certification Institute. -How many times have you come into contact with contractors that think they can do it all but really can't? -They can't build a fence like Victor Vasquez or install an operator like Brian Frederiksen. -Those guys are definitely professionals. -Even Dan and Cannon have partnered with the AFA and other groups like the FWA and even Tony Thornton's consulting group to help elevate your companies. 3) Potential higher earnings The natural progression for your company would be: -Fence installation TO gate operator installation TO access control installation TO CCTV -I'm not saying each of these steps are necessary- but this is how you would naturally grow your company. -SAS has customers who were strictly fence builders for years touching 1-2 operators a year. -In 6-12 months many of those companies have left fencing completely. -They've enjoyed the challenge that the operators brought and how much more profit comes with less physically demanding work. 4) Importance of finding a great sales partner/supplier - SAS is all about relationship selling. Our industry has seen its share of mergers and acquisitions over the last several years. Fencing industry suppliers and Gate operator manufacturers both. Many of the fence supply distributors sell gate operators. SAS is different from these other vendor, -The fact that Southwest Automated Security is 100% employee owned. -They have a stake in the outcome. -Therefore your success is their success. ⤵️More about both hosts of the show⤵️ Dan Blanc - Fence King Fence King, the Northshore of New Orleans's leading Wood Privacy & Picket and Aluminum Installers, is the premier fence contractor of Mandeville, Covington, Ponchatoula, Madisonville, Robert, Goodbee, Hammond, and Abita...

Sebastian Lletget has moved to New England, and Sacha Kljestan will stay in LA, but are you getting a warm and fuzzy feeling from the moves? Hosts Josh Guesman and Sophie Nicolaou are back to get you updated on some very big moves by a Galaxy side that seems to have a plan in mind as they offload players and gather some money in the process. They'll start with the re-signing of Sacha Kljestan, who seems to be a value-added type of player. So what did the Galaxy get with Kljestan? And can they afford to add another name like Victor Vasquez as well? But then Josh and Sophie want to get into the Galaxy's trade with New England for Lletget. Can the Galaxy afford to trust the Revolution and Bruce Arena in this deal? Why are the Galaxy dealing with Arena and Lletget? Did he want to go to New England? And did the Galaxy get the value you expected from the trade? Josh will break down the mechanics of how the Galaxy get paid and when they get paid and then tell you what the perception of the deal is in some circles across the league. Will the Galaxy ever get $1.3-million out of the Revolution? And when could they see that money if they did? Next, our hosts talk about the Dan Steres trade details and why it's probably more of a wash than we initially thought. Does that make you feel better about offloading the defender to the Houston Dynamo? Finally, there's some schedule talk before Sophie tells stories of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, and then name drops about ten more celebrities. She's the most interesting person in the world for a reason. She just stays bottled up! We've got a fun show for you with only one more episode left this year. Are you ready to ring in 2022? Better question: are the Galaxy?

Hello soccer fans, and welcome back to the Sons of a Pitch! In this episode, we recap Week 32 in Major League Soccer, including game recaps, highlights, and headlines. LAFC continue pushing for 1st place in the West, DC United earn a tough win against FC Dallas, and Orlando City can't buy a goal. In other headlines, Victor Vasquez of Toronto FC undergoes season-ending arthroscopic knee surgery and Puebla striker (and Canadian national) Lucas Cavallini starts talk of a move to TFC. The hosts also touch on Dom Dwyer's struggles in Orlando and the team's all too common struggles. In perhaps the biggest league news, #SavetheCrew has become #SaveDtheCrew. With the lawsuit against current ownership going forward, and the required shopping window open, all signs point to a new ownership group purchasing the Columbus Crew from Precourt Sports Venture. If you'd like more legal analysis, let us know in the comments, and our resident legal expert will put together a comprehensive analysis. In the meantime, the staff at Massive Report have you covered. The show wraps up with a discussion on the CONCACAF Nations League, the newest tournament to feature the national teams from North America. The hosts break down the format, qualifying, and whether the increased competition will encourage or hinder the development of soccer in the United States and the other member nations of the confederation. Yes, we are right back on the pod - Aaron Neilsen and Ian Clarke to get ready for this year's MLS Cup Final. We start off by taking a quick look back on the Eastern Conference Final against Columbus, specifically highlighting Michael Bradley, Sebastian Giovinco, Victor Vasquez and Jozy Altidore and pitting them against what the Seattle Sounders have to offer. How will they match up head to head, what will Seattle bring to the table and who are the favourites to lift the Cup?

Delays, filth, passengers who block the door or take up multiple seats or eat fried chicken—there's always something to rankle you. And if you're already having a rotten day (or week or life), everything seems to take on an even bleaker hue under that dim fluorescent lighting, as you're hemmed in by humans not of your choosing. This condition is what inspired Victor Vasquez, a conductor on the No. 1 Broadway local, to start veering off-script last summer when making routine announcements.“A lot of people who get on the train have a semi-depressed look on their face,” Vasquez says. “Standing under someone's armpit, you just want to get home.”Vasquez, who is twenty-seven, bearded and a tad heavyset, wanted to make straphangers smile with the hope that they might even pay it forward, which is the gist of one of his public service messages from his own repertoire: “Your smile might make a difference in someone else's day. Little things count.”Whether he's urging good behavior—“Be nice to each other as you go down the steps”—sharing his thoughts about the weather—“Nice breeze we have tonight. Autumn finally decided to arrive”—or just pointing out your location—“Change of scenery; Harlem, everyone”—Vasquez's casual remarks do seem to lighten the mood, as if he were joining you for the ride.True, he's subverting the institutional tone of those humdrum announcements that passengers mostly tune out. But he discovered that when he throws in a little friendly commentary, some ears perk right up, like mine the first time I heard him while riding downtown. Immediately, I stepped off the train, found him, and asked if he was the guy. Vasquez flashed a mischievous smile and said, “Maybe.” Then I got back on and heard a more definitive response over the PA: “Yes, I am the Batman.”968重庆之声每周一至周五8点56分每天三分钟养成良好英语听说习惯
Toronto FC take care of business away to the New York Red Bulls in a huge 2-1 win to put them in the driver's seat ahead of the home leg. It was another professional win, that still left room for improvement, as the usual suspects of Jozy Altidore, Giovinco and Victor Vasquez created the chances, while Chris Mavinga and Alex Bono were essential in keeping them out. It is a buoyant result against a top team who could have been the bogeyman, but there is now confidence not just ahead of Sunday, but that the team is playing at the level to keep pushing towards the MLS Cup Final.
Toronto FC once again put forth a dominant home display, this time taking out the San Jose Earthquakes 4-0 courtesy of a Jozy Altidore brace. However, it was what is becoming a classic home performance where there were no weak links and everyone chipping in from Victor Vasquez to Steven Beitashour, with Jonathan Osorio adding in insurance at the end. It was a near-perfect performance with a passing and possession highlighting the afternoon. Looking ahead, TFC are into the homestretch for the playoffs and have some key fixture to watch as they are in a position for a season of greatness.
Toronto FC delivers them all, as they dispatch the Portland Timbers 4-1 at BMO on a sunny Saturday afternoon. It was another impressive display at home, lead once again by the creativity of Giovinco, with the finishing of Justin Morrow and support of Victor Vasquez. With some missing pieces, the Reds still managed to look dominant for long stretches and the second half completely took the heart of the Timbers to walk away with all three points. It was a critical result ahead of next weekend's clash against Eastern Conference contenders Chicago Fire that will open up the title race and playoff positions.
After another crushing defeat, the Filibuster podcast is here to help you with your sorrows. Jason, Adam, and Ben talk about D.C. United versus Minnesota United and the disaster that was defensive midfield. We talk about the turnover, the throw-ins, and how there is no answer currently on this team. In the second segment we get into Adam's Funtime News Roundup Time™️. We talk about Nigel DeJong (and name a cocktail after him based on the request of one of our Patreon subscribers), and talk about Kristian Nemeth and Marcus Olsson, one of whom we're excited about and one of whom we disagree upon. We also talk about the rumors about D.C. United's ownership and how their investment in the stadium is escalating. Finally, we bring on Kristin Knowles from The Vocal Minority to talk about D.C. United's next game against Toronto FC. We discuss Sebastian Giovinco and ask her what having depth on your team feels like. We also get into Victor Vasquez's role, Raheem Edwards, Alex Bono taking away the starting ‘keeper job from Clint Irwin, and how TFC fans feel about Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley. We of course ask her how to gameplan Toronto FC, and get into all aspects of their back line. Give it a listen! That's right, an old foe from 2007, much like last week's Chicago Fire, went down to the Reds at BMO via a thorough 2-0 victory. Last week it was Giovinco, this week it was Jozy Altidore who scored the brace and left supporters feeling confident the team is beginning to hit their stride as top contenders. It wasn't just the goals, as Victor Vasquez and Raheem Edwards continue to emerge as key players, with Vasquez pulling the strings and Edwards really making the most of his opportunity. Up next is Orlando City then Seattle where TFC will be put to the test if they can maintain their current form.
Toronto FC once again come up short of all three points at BMO Field as a back and forth match ended in a 2-2 draw with Atlanta United. Even going up a man in the final stretch of the match wasn't enough of an advantage as the Reds played better at even strength and could not muster the game winning goal. Atlanta burned Chris Mavinga twice, but on the home side, both Victor Vasquez and Armando Cooper put in solid performances, while Giovinco opened his scoring account for 2017. It's still early in the season and TFC aren't falling behind, but sooner than later Toronto will want to see a win in our home field.
That's all TFC needed to get past their west coast Canadian rivals Vancouver Whitecaps in a 2-0 win. Three points on the road were key heading into the home opener and the start of the season is now looking pretty good. Brek Shea's red card opened up the game for the Reds as substitutions of Victor Vasquez and Raheem Edwards were the right move to change the face of the game and lead to the win. Vasquez and Altidore both contributed on each goal and with a week's rest, TFC should be feeling confident going back to BMO Field.

In an interview with Jacobin's Tanner Howard, he discusses gentrification in Oakland, "the hustle" under capitalism, and why Karl Marx would make a great rapper.
