In this week's episode of the #MoneyMagic Podcast, Vangile talks to Phemelo Sello, a healer and entrepreneur. Phemelo shares his personal journey with money, which began with negative experiences in his family, including financial instability and the emotional impact of money-related issues on family dynamics. These early experiences shaped his initial negative beliefs about money, but through his spiritual and personal growth, he has transformed his understanding and relationship with money. In this podcast he shares his healing journey in Wealthy Money's Money Magic course, which involved deep inner work, including meditations focused on ancestral healing, such as the womb meditation, which he found transformative despite being a cis man. He explains that spiritual labor, though undervalued, is crucial for aligning mental and physical efforts with one's true purpose and guidance. By engaging in spiritual labor, he experienced significant improvements in his personal relationships and business success, growing his revenue from R400,000 (US$22,000) per annum to R6 million (US$331,000) per annum, emphasizing the importance of healing in community and the interconnectedness of spiritual, mental, and physical labor. In this week's #MoneyMagic episode, I share my personal experience of overcoming public shaming, reclaiming my power, and healing my not-good-enough wound. Back in 2022, I found myself in the midst of public shaming. It was a tough time as embassies worldwide were contacted with false allegations of me being a tourism fraud, and financial services boards were sent letters tarnishing my reputation as a scam. The impact on my mental health and business was far more significant than I anticipated. The aftermath led to months of legal battles, protection orders, and I am still waiting for the court's decision. As if that wasn't enough, I also had to navigate (still am navigating) the complexities of dealing with developers who reneged on their financing contracts in the Property Magicians Stokvel. It has been a challenging time that brought forth self-doubt, feelings of inadequacy, shame and a desire to hide and be invisible. In the process I found immense support and love from family, friends, and even strangers, which shattered my beliefs about being alone and unloved and led me to truly understanding what it means to trust the process. In this podcast episode, I delve into the journey of finding solace, seeking support during times of crisis, and prioritizing self-care. I share the practices that helped me regain my balance, including yoga, breathwork, EFT tapping and the #MoneyMagic meditations. I also share valuable insights on expansion, visibility, and revisiting the basics of the Bank Account Challenge. Despite the chaos, I managed to continue growing Wealthy Money, secure a publishing deal for my upcoming book (launching in October 2023), acquire two pieces of land, get gifted a Birkin bag, launch an Airbnb business, and initiate the rezoning of one of my properties in Cape Town to develop eight units. Join me in this episode of the #MoneyMagic podcast as I talk about transforming poison into medicine. Tune in! During this episode, you will learn about: 00:00: Introduction 05:37: The public shaming incident and the effects on my life 11:37: Feeling unsafe and the belief that others have power over you 21:52: The experience of shame and the importance of working with triggers 27:31: The not good enough wound and the impact on my business 34:39: The need to regulate the nervous system during challenging times 37:54: Overcoming the vow of invisibility and showing up in my business 44:52: The breakthroughs I experienced during this period 47:14: The upcoming release of my book and the support I received 54:40: My experience with the bank account challenge and its impact on my finances 01:03:38: The material breakthroughs I experienced, such as receiving gifts and purchasing land 01:11:34: Trusting the process 01:16:13: Coaching offer for anyone that feels like doing one on one coaching Notable Quotes I've come to the conclusion that no human being actually has a substantial amount of power over another human being there is a part of us no matter what happens that we can just go in there and find something that can be taken away by another person I literally looked at a part of myself like I said and was just like there's no way I could live through this and then making the decision that I'm going to live through this anyway We will never ever be able to control another person that is a fact, but what we can do is look after ourselves when things are going bad Expansion is being able to hold both the good and the bad, the upside and downside of expansion One of the biggest breakthroughs was I learned that it doesn't matter what is happening the work works The big breakthrough is that all my fears were unfounded I've lived my whole life being so scared of being visible being so scared of being publicly criticized because I thought at the end of the day I would lose love and I would be actually alone and I would have absolutely no one by my side and the major breakthrough for me has been I've lived through my worst fears and I was never alone physically and even emotionally I was fully supported If this podcast resonated with you, check out these resources: Money Magic course: https://www.wealthy-money.com/moneymagic Bank Account Challenge: https://wealthy-money.com/bankaccount Book a discovery call: https://www.wealthy-money.com/discoverycall 7 Day Tapping into Ancestral Money Wisdom Training: https://wealthy-money.com/training Let's connect on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vangilemakwakwa/

The last 2 weeks on the #MoneyMagic podcast, I've been talking about expansion and the triggers of expansion. This week, I am sharing another Facebook live class I did on growing your business with minimal resources. Even though we've been taught that business is all practical; that's what I learned at school - the truth is business and expansion are also about mindset and integrating our trauma. It's not about a one-day aha moment you experience by watching a YouTube video or reading a book. Real inner work is more about embodiment, and we can often feel and see when a change is happening. This involves meditation, questioning our work, and dealing with what the traumas are. Join the conversation with your host Vangile Makwakwa as she shares the inspiring story of Jane, who began as an assistant at the Wealthy Money retreat and has now managed to grow from selling chili mix products to buying property through coaching and aligning her vision to her actions. You don't need tons of money for your projects to become a success. Looking at Jane's resources and success, you can get the motivation just to use what you have and get started. Tune in! During this episode, you will learn about; [00:01] Introduction to the show [03:06] Who is Vangile Makwakwa, and how did Wealthy Money come into existence? [09:10] Why Jane's inspiration is the basis of this episode [14:20] Hiring her to help in my retreats [18:30] The chilli recipe that became Jane's turning point [24:18] A coaching session that gives birth to a second stream of income- The Chips [27:18] From chips to owning her real estate property [32:04] Becoming her own supplier of chilies [34:35] What's true financial freedom and the asset classes that create it? [41:25] A bit about Vangile's retreats and how you can join them [46:41] You can also make your small story shine like Jane's- connect! [49:23] Ending the show and call to actions Notable Quotes It's not about the industry but the money mindset you have embraced that will give you the money. In this week's podcast, I talk about how the very idea of expansion can be a trigger for us and can actually cause us to shut down. The fear of expanding beyond our family and community is a common fear. Most of us have a sense of dread about this, and the reasons behind this go back to our childhood experiences. To some of us, it comes as fear of rejection and being othered when we expand beyond our tribe, and to some of us, it can feel like our expansion is a betrayal and we are abandoning our families which can prevent us from connecting with our income goals. Expansion, especially in collective cultures, can often trigger family dynamics and sibling rivalry, leading to resentment and anger within the family unit, thus creating a barrier to moving forward and keeping you stuck in the past. The fear of expanding is rooted in trauma. Join the conversation with your host Vangile Makwakwa as she shares more about expansions, family dynamics, and the concept of generation wealth. She also shares her childhood trauma that makes it unsafe for her to achieve and expand beyond her mother, how it has played out in her life, and her inner work toward healing. Tune in! During this episode, you will learn about; [00:01] Introduction to the show [03:32] Today's focus: Expansion and family dynamics and creating generational wealth [04:42] How to set income goals that connect with your body [08:32] Vangile's breakthrough from her inner work in reaching her income goal [10:07] Feeling into your body and your income goals [11:30] Vangile's experience with her new income goals and trauma triggers [17:34] How fear holds us back and Vangile's trauma experiences growing up [25:15] How expansions lead to family dynamics and sibling rivalry [26:57] Inner child and teen triggers' control over expansion [28:11] It's not safe to expand beyond my mother [37:32] How the fear of achieving more has played out in her life [44:18] The fear of leaving the village [45:41] How to join the wealthy money magic course [47:22] Why we tend to attract the mirrors of what we don't heal [49:39] Expansion that feels like a betrayal to the very people we love [51:03] Join the Wealthy Money master class; Emotional Intelligence Around Money [52:54] Ending the show and call to actions Notable Quotes The body never lies, you can create goals, but it all comes down to the body. As you work through your beliefs, the way you respond to situations starts to shift. The role of fear and anxiety is to keep you stuck Awareness and healing are two different concepts We tend to attract the mirrors of the traumas that we don't heal. Healing on vast levels leads to the most incredible insights and life changes. With a fear of money, it becomes impossible for us to think creatively and make decisions. The more scared we are of spending money, the more difficult it becomes to be rational about our spending. Most of us have no problem saving up money to achieve our goals, but we often become afraid of spending that money. In today's podcast I do a live class explaining why we feel unsafe when spending money and why spending money is important and how our money traumas have shaped our beliefs around money. When we feel safer spending, we're more anchored, less likely to feel scared, and make our finances worse. This is why it's important to heal from past money traumas that have been holding us back. Join the conversation with me, your host Vangile Makwakwa, as I share more about the fear of spending and losing money to provide you with tools to create a path to your financial freedom by taking all your fears off the table. Why does Wealthy Money focus on healing ancestral money trauma and teaching practical money skills, instead of just teaching money management or mindset? Her money story. The fear of asking for money is a traumatic response from negative experiences with money. It can affect your behaviours around money, business revenue and your ability to negotiate for money. Society has told us that it's wrong to want money, and most of us undercharge our services because we fear being rejected and talking about money, which creates burnout at some point. Pricing your services right will help you shift how you show up in a whole different way, which mean more to your clients and business. But how can you feel safe and at ease when pricing your products, sending invoices and asking for money, Join the conversation with your host Vangile Makwakwa as she shares a live class “tapping into ancestral money wisdom training” day four training on pricing. To help you understand how money traumas affect your behaviours around pricing and how you can get over it and heal. Unlocking the ancestral wisdom has helped her pay off $60,000 in debts, buy properties and launch and grow her company Wealthy Money in a six-figure (US dollars) business as she travel and live in different countries all over the globe. The role of the mind is to keep us alive, and if it associates asking for money with danger, it could eventually lead to death. The more you're able to sustain yourself in what brings you fulfilment, the more you continue to do it. Danger equals possible death. When we force the mind to accept a reality we don't believe in, it will fight us more. Only you can know the truth of your situation.

In this week's #MoneyMagic Podcast episode I talk to Claire Phutieagae, the founder of Tshiamelo Inclusive Education Center (TIEC), an inclusive school for children with and without learning barriers. Claire is also a community Liaison officer for a solar company, and she specialises in community development projects. She has worked in education for 13 years, and that's what inspired her schooling system to bring change. She's also a healer, and she loves working with people to help them expand and transform into their best version. In this podcast episode, Claire stresses that money is energy, and how you treat it is the way it will give back to you. Money is also an empowering tool, and it has enabled her to expand and achieve her dreams. Healing from money trauma allows you not just to work with your brain but also with your whole body. When the two agree, it's time to move forward and expand. In this episode Claire explains that taking the course helped her get in touch with her inner child, achieve goals in life, and change her relationship with money. She shares how healing her money trauma, helped her change the way she and her husband talk about money and helped her open up about her finances, which changed the dynamic of their relationship when it comes to money. She was always the toxic one when it came to money. But the healing has allowed her to deal with money honestly and comfortably, clear all her debts, buy the plot where the school is, do the things she had always wanted to without worrying about where the money would come from and understand her finances well. This is another incredible episode. Click play to listen and leave us a comment in the comments section below. During this episode, you will learn about: [03:57] Claire's career background [06:44] Changing the world through inclusivity [08:17] The benefits of inclusive learning in skills development [12:21] Claire's definition of money and what money mean to her [14:52] When Claire discovered that relationship with money was more than budgeting [23:24] The Wealthy Money lesson that shifted Claire towards her healing [28:16] Breaking the vows on different ancestral planes [32:56] Going through the releasing process and healing from trauma [35:06] Why crying is healing [39:15] Period days and what they are critical to every woman [44:38] Claire new definition for trauma and ancestral trauma since she started the course [52:46] How the #MoneyMagic course helped Claire get in touch with her inner child and heal from money trauma [01:03:25] Making money while working with the mind and body in harmony [01:06:28] How Claire healing has changed her life and perspectives around money Notable Quotes: Making the world better through separation will not work; inclusivity is the key. Money is an energy, and how you treat it is the way it will give back. Trauma begets more trauma. It's okay not to be okay; it's okay to be in touch with the feminine side. Before making any decision or taking any action regarding your finances, you should seek advice from a qualified financial advisor. In today's episode, I chat to Vangile Makwakwa, the founder of Wealthy Money, Co-founder of a real estate Podcast called Property Magicians, and a published author, to name a few of the many hats she wears. Vangile is passionate about helping people heal their ancestral money trauma so that they are able to unlock their inner money guru to be successful in life. When the subject of money and generational wealth is brought up, most of us experience a range of emotions. So what is generational wealth? Is being 'money smart' always about money? Or does it also have something to do with one's upbringing, your emotions/feelings towards money, your traumas, and everything in-between? Handling money, or money management is more than just saving and setting up your pension or retirement plans or funeral plans. Money is broad and multidimensional. I believe this episode will greatly shift your perspective on money and everything you think you know about money. This is a longer interview than usual, but I have a feeling you're going to love every minute of it — I know I sure did! My guest this week is Vangile Makwakwa, who helps women of color heal ancestral money trauma so they can fall in love with their bank accounts, increase income and live their best lives. She's an author, an avid traveler, and the host of multiple podcasts: the Property Magicians Podcast, and the Money Magic Podcast. And thanks to the magic of the internet, she was able to join me from all the way in South Africa! We had so much to talk about, including: What went on for Vangile behind the scenes over the past year Constant embodiment and self-care, in business and beyond Power, integrity, and the divine guidance to return to yourself Respecting and honoring NO — as well as the all-in YES! "What I noticed about being coached through objections is that sometimes people will coach you to override your soul messaging. They'll make you believe that they know more about your business than you do. This is why I'm also really adamant about telling people, I cannot tell you what your strategy will be. What I can do is hold the space for you to determine what feels right for you, what feels right in your body." Vangile, thank you so much for joining me on the podcast and having such a lively, deep conversation. Want more from Vangile? Find her on Twitter and Instagram under @vangilemakwakwa, and on search for Wealthy Money on Facebook. She also has an abundance of free resources, including her podcasts, over at wealthy-money.com. In this episode I'm discussion the choices we make in our life regarding our personal income My subscribers already know that we're empowered to add income streams (with very low downside, like print on demand) that we can scale up over time But I'd like to touch on the entire spectrum of choice that we're faced with on a daily basis to either focus on making more money, or not! PS. I respect everyone's right to choose
In this week's episode of the #MoneyMagic series, I sit down to chat with one of my private clients, Phumla Ngema about paying off all her debt in 4 months. Phumla is South African, but she lives and works as a paramedic in Abu Dhabi, the UAE. In this episode she shares how she started working at 17 and started supporting her family when she was making R250 (less than US$20) a month because growing up she'd seen her mom support 30 people on her teacher's salary, so she just followed in her mom's footsteps. She shares how she first suspected that her relationship with money was about more than just money and budgeting when she was working in the military and was paid R400,000 (US$25,800) lump sum for being stationed outside South Africa. She tried to save the money but ended up using it all up, despite her best efforts. When this happened again to her when she got a R300,000 lumpsum, she realized there was more to money than what she thought. She started following Instagram coaches and along the way bumped into the work I teach at Wealthy Money; she downloaded the free eBook and started doing the exercises, signed up for the Bank Account Challenge at the beginning of 2020 and in May 2020 became a private client. In this interview she shares her journey to being debt-free and how she managed to pay off R360,000 in debt in the space of 4 months and how as she started to heal her own trauma she was able to set financial boundaries with her family and how that has led to incredible financial shifts for her siblings, cousins and her mom. Her mom has even bought herself her own dream car, her brother and cousins got jobs, all within 4 months! This is another awesome episode, that reminds us that when we heal our money trauma and change our approach to money within our family from a non-wounded space (because sometimes we do make changes but we do it from a wounded space that does more damage than good), everyone gets permission to expand. My work is focused on understanding and healing trauma. I know I call myself a money coach, but my focus is on understanding trauma and how it affects our money behaviour and our nervous system so we can start to integrate our lived experiences and build generational wealth. This is why Wealthy Money's tag line is "The magic in healing." It's in the healing that we start to create magic. The magic comes from us stepping into our own power and remembering who we truly are. This is why I believe it's important to understand trauma and how it changes our perception of self, which leads to financial contraction. So for this week's #MoneyMagic series, I invited one of my friends, Lori Jones, a licensed mental health clinician, based in Boston, MA to have a conversation with me about trauma and to share her understanding of trauma. This episode is meant to educate and shed light on why we behave the way we do and also give us a deeper insight into why we get stuck or freeze when we are triggered and why we keep recreating cycles of behaviour. Lori takes us on a journey to help us understand how our brains operate, how we respond to various situations and how trauma is passed down from generation to generation. We also look at how collective trauma and vicarious trauma lead to collective archetypes, which further impact our behaviour. Grab a cup of tea and a journal. In today's episode of the #MoneyMagic series, we talk to Wisani Khethiwe Shibambu about her journey to launching her first business and breaking cycles of debt. Wisani is a Money Magic student, but she's also Wealthy Money's virtual assistant and is responsible for the administration and technical support in the company. She shares how she spent 3 years teaching English in Japan (and even speaks some Japanese) and then decided to come home and figure out what she wanted to do next. Coming home was tougher than she thought and she struggled to find employment. She then decided to use the skills she learned in Japan and her corporate experience, to create employment for herself. She followed her soul and after a few months launched her virtual assistant business and got clients in a short space of time. Wealthy Money actually became a client during Covid! I got to chat about how she got herself out of the cycle of credit card debt, the challenge of entrepreneurship, paying herself first and how money is actually a tool to expansion and discovering our own divinity.
