At the time this episode aired, Tandem Nomads is soon turning eight! Oh boy… the world has certainly changed since the first episode aired. For that reason, Tandem Nomads podcast will soon undergo major changes. Stay tuned! But before I share more about that, this episode represents one of the many significant shifts that have occurred in the past few years. Although the community of Tandem Nomads doesn't necessarily identify as digital nomads, paying attention to how digital nomads have evolved can teach us a lot about aligning our lifestyle with our business, even if we don't necessarily want to travel all the time. In fact, the digital nomads of a decade ago are now older and have families of their own, but they still don't want to sacrifice their freedom and lifestyle flexibility. But is it even possible to live and work from anywhere (not just from home) and move every couple of months with children? What about the kids' education? Mauro Repacci found an innovative solution to allow families to live on the move like digital nomads, work from anywhere, while providing all the stability they need in terms of work, community, and education for their kids. Another important topic we cover in this episode is how to avoid burnout as entrepreneurs. While the reason for starting a portable business might be to have more flexibility and time for ourselves, it can easily lead to the opposite result, as making a business truly successful and profitable can lead to overwhelm. Running a business should be like running a marathon, not a sprint. Mauro Repacci is a seasoned entrepreneur with a proven track record in the travel, relocation, and fintech industries. He began his career at Air Canada, where he played a key role in several major projects, including the acquisition of the 787 and the launch of a low-cost airline. Following the completion of his MBA at Queen's University, he went on to found the largest online relocation marketplace in Canada, which was later acquired by an immigration firm. More recently, he founded and scaled VC-backed fintech company NestReady to 40 employees and 20 enterprise clients before it was acquired by Alpine Investors. With three daughters, Mauro developed the idea for Boundless while seeking solutions for his family. What you will learn: What innovative solutions Boundless offers to enable families to live on the move while maintaining the stability they need.
In this episode, we address the critical question that often holds people back: "What do you truly want?" We understand that not everyone can answer this with certainty, and that's okay. Deep down your soul knows what you truly want to achieve and what you are capable of. Tune in and listen… without letting all the noise take over your dreams. Your inner self already knows what you're capable of achieving. Tune in to silence the noise and connect with your authentic aspirations. But even with clarity, obstacles may still loom on your path (especially as an entrepreneur). Many women around the globe act as full or part time caregivers in some capacity and their free labor allows businesses to expand profits and take advantage of their creativity. Just like a personal evolution, a brand also requires the creator to dig deep and ask the hard questions like: Am I showing up in a way that feels good and is helpful to my audience? Does my design style represent the vibe and vision I want to portray? Is my brand still showcasing my values? In this episode, Sundae Bean uncovers how a brand's evolution directly correlates to one's willingness to adapt and change to their own world, and to the one around them. “There was enough discomfort and clarity to push me to change.” Sundae takes listeners on her personal brand evolution, providing insights about how to get the most out of the process. She expounds on what true growth might feel like within your body and how to work with it. She also discusses how to collaborate with outside agencies to help you through this journey. Women's empowerment has been at the core of Tandem Nomads' mission since it started. Entrepreneurship is indeed one of the most effective tools for women to live up to their full potential and create their own source of financial independence while aligning their business with their priorities in life. The countless women who came before us fought for the privileges we enjoy today, which is why it is our responsibility to live up to our full potential and continue to pave the way for the ones coming after us. In this episode, we look at where we are today regarding women's rights and opportunities in our society and in our world. What can we celebrate and where do we need to see more progress? We also reflect on what women need today to live up to their full potential. In order to answer these questions, I invited some of the most active members of the Tandem Nomads' community to share their take and insights on this topic: Cath Brew is an LGBTQ+ inclusion consultant who supports LGBTQ+ allies looking to step into confident active allyship. Cath is also an artist and uses her illustration and fun storytelling talents to educate people around misconceptions related to the LGBTQ+ topics. When you work at what you love, it's easy for burnout to creep up on you. It's a bit like the ghost at Halloween. You know it's there, but it's not until you stare it in the face that it scares you. Entrepreneurs know how to look after themselves, but all too often they ignore the signs that tell them to rest, pull back, or delegate. Burnout then becomes very real and forces them to stop. So how do you prevent burnout from happening? This week, Restorative Movement Specialist, Johdi Woodford shares her unique multidisciplinary approach for preventing burnout. She challenges traditional methods of ‘help', talks about why our bodies start to become compromised and offers great tips for how to spot your own ‘red flags' of not coping. Preventing burnout is an intrinsic state of knowing what's the right thing to do. But most entrepreneurs bypass that because they are too busy and don't take the time to listen to their body and their intuition. Johdi Woodford is a Restorative Movement Specialist who helps people over 40 to finally uncover the root cause of their pain and treat it so that it doesn't come back again. Johdi's clients enjoy lasting, unparalleled results because she takes a revolutionary and rebellious route to the otherwise very boring, very ineffective methods that you'll find elsewhere in the Health & Fitness World. Her multidisciplinary approach is unlike anything you've ever tried before, because no-one combines precise anatomical and physiological corrective exercise know-how, with a witch-like ability to heal that her clients describe as ‘magic'. With so many business resources online, it's reasonable to rely on the outside world to make decisions and navigate our entrepreneurial journey. However, in doing so, we run the risk of ignoring a more profound resource - our intuition. Using your intuition is good for making decisions, especially for making the right ones. In this episode Cath Brew talks about the importance of intuition, how to develop yours and why your business needs it. She explains the difference between emotions and intuition, how to recognize these differences and why one may interfere with business efficiency whilst the other improves it. For anyone who wants to learn more, this chat with Cath will help you expand your inner world to make better business decisions. “The more we learn how to access our discomforts, the less they have a hold over us” Cath is an artist who illustrates and educates about marginalized experiences for positive change with a focus on identity, belonging and expat life. She is also a shamanic practitioner and runs 'Crock-of-Shit-Free' Spiritual Guidance in which she helps clients to find inner peace and heal from emotional wounds - including childhood trauma, ancestral trauma, limiting beliefs, difficult relationships, and other internal struggles. https://tandem-nomads.ck.page/cf528ab54f () What you will learn: How to recognize your intuition and decipher it from your fears and anxieties Why using your intuition improves business and personal well-being When to be honest with yourself and push through anyway Resources and inspiration: Listen to episode 232: https://tandemnomads.com/podcast/tn232-the-simple-thing-solo-entrepreneurs-can-do-to-support-gender-diversity-and-non-binary-people-with-cath-brew/ (The simple thing solo entrepreneurs can do to support gender diversity and non-binary people with Cath Brew) Listen to episode 174: https://tandemnomads.com/podcast/tn174-the-art-of-selling-your-art-with-cath-brew/ (The art of selling your art – With Cath Brew) Find the book: https://www.amazon.de/Breaking-Habit-Being-Yourself-Create/dp/1401938094 (Breaking The Habit of Being Yourself: How to Lose Your Mind and Create a New One ) Find Cath Online https://www.drawntoastory.com (Website) http://www.facebook.com/drawntoastory (Facebook) https://www.linkedin.com/in/catherinebrew/ (LinkedIn) https://www.instagram.com/drawntoastory/ (Instagram) Share Your Love! Although this is the final episode of a series called ‘The Slow Challenge,' what we will cover today is at the core of what a portable business allows you to do and why I am passionate about helping you grow a successful portable business. In fact, for too long, entrepreneurs have been taught that they need to work hard and sacrifice everything – including their wellbeing - to grow a successful business. This is simply not true. If you design your business with intention and implement the right strategies mindfully, you can run your business at your rhythm and align it with your lifestyle. You don't need to work hard to generate real revenue, but what you need is to be committed to making real revenue. Believing in your success and establishing the right mindset can be the difference between a business that moves forward and one that gets stuck. Part of that success also relies on knowing when and what to delegate. This week, I am bringing to you a student of my online program, the Portable Business Accelerator™, Caroline Giffon whose journey and growth has been so great to watch. She shares how she grew her business and the reasons for her early success. She talks passionately about how she created her team, and why investing in herself has positively shaped her business. Caroline's insights into how to establish the right mindset for personal and business growth make for valuable listening. Trusting in my success ahead of time helped me to invest in myself and in what I needed to grow. Over the last 20 years, Caroline has lived in six different countries across three continents. She left a career in international development to follow her second calling to help global nomads create vibrant lives and careers. Caroline is passionate about saving accompanying partners the pain and energy of doing it on their own. Girafe Coaching's mission is to empower accompanying partners to create vibrant lives and careers, go after their dreams, and make an impact while doing what brings them joy - all while having the flexibility they need. Through her podcast show Love Your Expat Life, Caroline shares powerful tools that have changed her own journey, with a view to helping expats worldwide connect to what matters most to them, and so they can live a life they love. https://tandem-nomads.ck.page/b752dec9d4 () What you will learn: How to find the right balance between delegation and your own work Why choosing your thoughts is so important to a successful business mindset The benefits of not taking rejection personally Resources and inspiration: http://www.tandemnomads.com/PBA (Learn more about the Portable Business Accelerator™ here) Find Caroline online: Website: https://girafecoaching.com (www.girafecoaching.com) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/girafe_coaching/?hl=fr (@girafe_coaching) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/girafecoaching/ (Girafe Coaching) Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/carolinegiffonwee/ ( Caroline Giffon) Share Your Love! Most solo entrepreneurs complain that creating content is time consuming and overwhelming. You get motivated to start one day, try to keep up with it, then stop, then pick up again, but eventually you end up giving up once and for all. This means you lose the opportunity to engage with your audience and nurture your relationships with your ideal clients! Your content is what will make your ideal clients know you, like you, trust you and see you as the go-to expert in your field. But the value you provide is not in the quantity of content you produce, it's in the consistency of it! In this episode I will share with you how to shift the way you look at content creation so you can define a strategy that truly works for you. You will also learn how to find 18 topics ideas in 12 minutes! https://tandem-nomads.ck.page/25c6a8a6c3 () What you will learn: How to choose the right content strategy for you How to come up with 18 topic ideas in 12 minutes How to make sure you don't get overwhelmed with content creation This episode is also available in a blog format: Click here to find the article Resources and inspiration: Listen to episode 251: https://tandemnomads.com/podcast/tn251-3-reasons-your-content-is-sucking-all-your-energy-and-what-you-can-do-about-it/ (3 reasons your content is sucking all your energy and what you can do about it) Listen to episode 95: https://tandemnomads.com/podcast/tn95-create-free-content-will-grow-portable-business/ (How to create free content that will grow your portable business) Listen to episode 273: https://tandemnomads.com/podcast/tn273-finding-the-marketing-strategies-that-work-for-you/ (Finding the marketing strategies that work for you) Share Your Love!
