Joy to the Nerds

I played the Mass Effect Trilogy when it was recently released as the Mass Effect Legendary Collection, and it is now my favorite game of all time. Check out this review to see if it's a game fit for you!

Jujutsu Kaisen is one of the best Shonen anime I have seen in recent years with phenomenal action and hilarious relationships.

Digimon is one of my favorite franchises, and it often gets the short end of the stick being compared to Pokemon. Here I give a general overview of the game mechanics and why I love Digimon so much as a franchise.

Sleepy princess in the Demon Castle is a great someday anime about a princess that is taken captive but runs amok in the castle to make sure she is able to get some good quality rest!

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense is a great MMO game that is really chill and about some friends having fun. Its not crazy high stakes and the main character accidentally finds a ridiculously broken build .

Kaguya-Sama Love is war is a rom-com school life anime that focuses on two tsundere characters trying to get the other to confess their love for them!

Monster Hunter World is an amazing game where you murder huge monsters for science.

Re: Zero is an isekai that is surprisingly good and somehow manages to do horror really well even though that isn't its main focus.

Oxenfree is a phenomenal game where you play as Alex, a teen whose group of friendsare spending the night on an old island when they aren't supposed to. Turns out, spooky stuff is going on!

Tower of God is a great Webtoon based anime that had varied well done characters trying to get their wishes granted.

Little Misfortune is a dark point and click adventure that follows Misfortune Hernandez as she plays a game to obtain eternal happiness for her mommy.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a wonderful Isekai that changes up the formula but having the main character turn into a slime and building a new city and generally helping people.

Dishonored is a great game where you play as a spymaster trying to save the next in line to be empress and uncover a secret plot to overthrow the city of Dunwall.

Sweet Home is a horror K-drama Netflix original based off the webtoon comic of the same name. The characters draw you in and the monsters make the scares and drama all the more intense.

Hades is a rogue-like hack and slash feeling game where you play as the son of Hades trying to escape the underworld. The gameplay and art is so fantastic, you'll want to see it for yourself.

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice is a wonderful game with inspirations from Norse Mythology about a woman trying to save her love's soul from the underworld.

Uzumaki is a harrowing horror manga about how the idea of a spiral takes over a town.

World of horror is a great indie game with inspirations for Junji Ito and HP Lovecraft.

Silent Hill is a PS1 Classic survival horror game where you play as a man trying to find his daughter in the town of Silent Hill. It's spooky, scary, and while the graphics haven't ages the best, I still think this game is worth your time.

Resident Evil is a long-standing amazing survival horror franchise, that I would recommend to anyone that like spook and video games.

Danganronpa is a trial simulator game where you play as Makoto Naegi, a guy that's accepted into the most prestigious high school in the area but is now trapped there with the only possible escape being getting away with murder.

Tokyo Ghoul is a horror/action anime where the world is also inhabited by ghouls, extremely strong creatures that eat humans, while also looking like normal people.

Alien is a wonderful movies that also spawned the beautiful game Alien: Isolation. Learn a little about what makes me love them!

Dead Space is a wonderful game that is a beautiful amalgamation of zombies, body horror, and cosmic horror. Learn a little more about what makes it good here!

Dark Crystal: age of Resistance is a wonderful series that provides a prequel to the children's classic The Dark Crystal.

Avatar the Last Airbender is a phenomenal show where you see a kid with the power to control all 4 elements have to grow up and bring peace and balance to a world at war.

Persona 5 is a phenomenal JRPG with turn based combat and cool social links.

The Fate series is an anime based on a visual novel where mages summon servants, powerful figures from history, to fight for the Holy Grail, an all powerful wish-granting relic.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is an amazing open world Zelda game that everyone owning a switch should at least try out.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Sempai is a smart anime that brings people in with sex appeal then switches it around on them by being about science.

Animal Crossing New Horizons is a really cool town building game with many different tasks and ways to play.

Asobi Asobase is a slice of life anime where a trio of three middle schoolers make a club about "traditional" Japanese pastimes.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is a great RPG that I have sunk many hours into. The characters are wonderfully written, and they bring life to the story.

Nier: Automata is a wonderful hack and slash style JRPG with multiple endings and philosophical questions about life.

Cells at work is a cute anime that personifies the cells of the body and portrays them as people doing their jobs.

Dr. Stone is a post apocalyptic anime about the world after humankind turned to stone, and one high school genius using science to try to save the world.

Spelunky is a rogue-like game where you go underground, find treasure, and save some damsels.

Home Tutor Hitman Reborn! is a long running shounen anime that is about a baby that is there to train an unremarkable middle schooler to be the next head of the worlds biggest mafia family.

Mirai Nikki is about Yukiteru Amano trying to stay alive after becoming part of a game to decide the next god of time.

Evangellion is a dark action anime about monsters caleld Angels trying to destroy humanity, and humanity fighting back.

DDLC is a free dating(?)/psychological horror game that was a joy to play.
