Romesh Ranganathan is a comedian and BAFTA-winning broadcaster who has been a fixture on British television screens for the past decade. In addition to his TV shows and stand-up tours he presents the Weakest Link on BBC One, Radio Two's Saturday morning show and another weekly Radio Two programme in which he shares his passion for hip hop music. Romesh was born in Crawley in West Sussex where he still lives. His parents came to the UK from Sri Lanka in 1975. His father Ranga was an accountant who spent time in prison for fraud during Romesh's teenage years. At that point Romesh and his brother were brought up by their mother Sivashanthini – known as Shanthi – who has appeared alongside Romesh on several of his television programmes.In 2001 Romesh became a maths teacher at the school where he'd previously been a pupil. A few years later he started taking part in open mic evenings where he developed his skills as a stand-up. In 2011 he quit his teaching job to pursue a career in comedy. He has spoken candidly about his own mental health and in 2023 he became a patron of the charity CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably). Sunil Kumar Gupta served as a jailer at Tihar Jail, one of India's most notorious prisons, from 1981 until his retirement in 2016. Born into a modest background, Gupta left a stable job at the Indian Railways to pursue his dream of becoming a prison officer, joining Tihar Jail as an assistant superintendent. During his tenure, Gupta was involved in numerous high-profile cases, witnessing the execution of several inmates including the notorious Ranga and Billa, and Afzal Guru, involved in the 2001 Indian Parliament attack. His experiences and observations led him to significant contributions in prison reform; he played a key role in drafting the Delhi Prison Act and Manual in 1988, established Tihar's first legal aid cell, and initiated special court sessions within the prison to expedite minor cases. Post-retirement, Gupta transitioned into law, practicing at the Supreme Court of India and the Delhi High Court. His memoir, "Black Warrant: Confessions of a Tihar Jailer," co-authored with journalist Sunetra Choudhury, became the basis for a Netflix series, shedding light on the inner workings of India's prison system. Gupta's career not only highlighted the systemic issues within Indian prisons but also his commitment to reform and humane treatment of inmates.

Dr. Ranga Krishnan is the former CEO of the RUSH University System for Health, and currently serves as Senior Advisor to the CEO.  He is a national leader in medical education – known for his efforts to reconceptualize traditional medical classroom learning.  For four years, he served as dean of the RUSH Medical College, and for eight years led the Duke-N.U.S. Graduate Medical School Singapore, a joint venture between Duke University and the National University of Singapore.    You'll want to hear his approach for creating an engaging, first-class medical education that significantly lowers costs and reduces barriers to recruiting educators. A psychiatrist by training, Dr. Krishnan also gives his take on the mental health crisis our nation is facing. 

Patrick's guest is Professor Ranga Ramanujam from Vanderbilt University Owen Graduate School of Management. Ranga's research, consulting, and teaching focus on organizational errors, reliability, and operational failures. Numerous former students and current colleagues of Ranga's kept telling Patrick to put Ranga on the podcast. As Patrick puts it, "They were 100% right. Ranga is insightful, humble, and engaging!" With Ravana defeated, Arya goes to visit the Medicine Woman one last time. He realizes it is Ma as her True Self. As they talk, many things become clear. In a final fight, Arya comes face to face with the demon king, Ravana. Its' 10 menacing heads manifest as demons from Arya's life, and one appears as a mirror image of Arya himself. Shocked and confused, Arya is momentarily stunned. The demon continues to terrorize Arya as he stares at the Rakshasas-filled reflection of himself. But for the first time, the voices don't phase him. Arya finally understands Rishiji's many riddles and instructions. Arya knows who he is. He knows his true self and this shadow version standing in front of him was Ravana, not him. As the demon advances, Arya shoots his remaining golden arrow at the demon; his last effort to defeat Ravana and save the Ramayana. At first light, Arya and the vanaras begin their descent to the dark side. They reach the place where Arya has to plavang — jump, leap and fly, to get to the Ramayana. He is terrified but with the Rakshasas closing in he doesn't have a choice. He digs deep into his being, seeking energy from Brahman Shakti, and before his own eyes, he is transformed into a powerful warrior. He leaps and soars from island to island, getting closer to the funeral pyre where the Ramayana is poised to burn. The vanaras follow, fighting the Rakshasas as they go. As soon as Arya lands near the book, the pyre beneath him erupts in flames, set by none other than Ravana. Arya had fallen perfectly into Ravana's trap. He intended to burn Arya along with the book. Arya commands the other vanaras to retreat, but one lone vanar stays behind to fight.
