Happy New Year Geoholics!!! The guys were joined this week by Shawn Asher, Integration & Partnership Manager at Allen & Co. Trust us when we say...this guy is smart!!! Allen & Company is a technology-driven surveying, mapping and geospatial services company in Central Florida. Their teams support the needs of architecture, engineering, construction, development, commercial real estate, healthcare, resorts, theme parks, and other industrial clients across the U.S. They have a team of experts that merges traditional surveying methods with advanced technologies to provide its clients with accurate and reliable data. Something else you don't want to miss...they took an internal education opportunity and turned it into a full blown geo-experiment! They turned a scanning project into something the industry as a whole could benefit from. They made calls to see who wanted to participate. RIEGL, Exyn Technologies, Teledyne Optech, FARO Technologies, Triad Drones, Z+F USA, Emesent, BAAM.Tech, and NavVis all jumped at the opportunity to help the community. You will find 17 data sets from 9 vendors all on the same site so that you have more data to help you make an informed decision on your next purchase. Barry Stickings MBE is our guest for this weeks episode. When Barry and his wife Kelly heard that their baby was born with bilateral anophthalmia, a rare condition of the absence of both eyes, they were totally unprepared. That was 15 June 1989, their longest day a day that did not seem promising but turned out to have a bright future. Learn about how the devastating news did not stop them from getting on with life, how their positivity and dedication meant they would adapt to their circumstances and give their baby the best they could give. Barry would go on to found BAAM, a charity which advocates for people with this condition and brings their families together.

Dr. Horror, Kyle Ferguson, is BACK to discuss Kenneth Branaugh's latest, A Haunting in Venice, along with the 1973 Roeg CLASSIC, Don't Look Now! How did we feel about this latest spook-filled Poirot whodunnit? Did Don't Look Now's reputation live up to this first-time-viewing experience for Kyle and Joe? We save Don't Look Up's spoiler ending until the very end so buckle up, and enjoy this blood-drenched episode of BaaM!
See Bottoms! That's our take this week with first-time-guest Meredith Melville. But should you go back to Bottoms writer/director Emma Seligman's debut, Shiva Baby? That's a little more mixed. Two films from the same director...two beers from the same brewery. Garden Path Fermentation enters the BaaM 5-Timers Club after we enjoy their The Easygoing Drink and The Wet Hopped Ship!
Today on DoRiS we sit down with Derick Daly and Romont Fletcher. Mr. Daly is the President, a Trustee and a co-founder of Polaris Village Ministries, Inc. Prior to that he served as the Exec. We go full-on Swayze (how did we not drink a hazy?) this week on BaaM. Our Discord crew (get in there if you're not already!) picked Point Break for us to watch, and we decided to double down, or "double deuce" if you will, by pairing it with Road House. Anthony Z joins us for this discussion of two late 20th century action classics(?), and we enjoy some new-to-us beers from Martin House and Real Ale, two breweries that are BaaM staples. Be ready to get wet and wild on this week's episode!
It's all about horror in families this week on BaaM as we take on the newest entry the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead Rise, the first to really focus on how Deadites can wreak havoc within a family unit. Following that, we take on a pre-Evil Dead classic of the demonic possession subgenre, The Exorcist, a film with a storied past that helped to raise the profile of horror in the 1970s. It's an episode filled with blood, vomit, and plenty of beer!
With the arrival of Beau Is Afraid, Ari Aster's latest epic dark comedy, Dave and Joe felt they needed to have an Aster skeptic in the third seat to help bring some balance to the proceedings. Welcoming back returning guest Kyle Ferguson, the conversation is predictably lively, spilling over to our second film, Paul Thomas Anderson's The Master, a film that also has a troubled person played by Joaquin Phoenix at its center. With some pretty nice thematic beer pairings from Stone and Hong Kong's Young Master Brewery, this is a BaaM episode that is sure to delight.
We sink our teeth back into the tried-and-true BaaM format this week, even bringing back former regular host, Carlos Cooper, to review the latest release featuring our patron saint, Nicolas Cage. With him portraying Dracula in Renfield, we chose to pair it with Coppola's cinematic take on the character from 1992, and Joe comes in clutch with outstanding thematic beer pairings. Don't f*ck with the formula, amirite?
Claire Denis had wowed us back in episode 45 when we reviewed her then-new-release, High Life, but it has taken our Sight & Sound catch-up journey to get us back to the writer/director's unique cinematic perspectives. To pair with her 1999 film Beau Travail (#7 on the 2022 poll), we look at one(!) of her two features from 2022, Both Sides of the Blade, starring BaaM faves Juliette Binoche (High Life) and Vincent Lindon (Titane) as well as Gregoire Colin, who also appears in Beau Travail. Its all about grown-up drama and cinematic style this week on BaaM, but you may want to put on your dancing shoes, just to be safe.
It's that time of year again! Your hosts have done their level best to take in as many films released in 2022 as they possibly could and to look back at the beers they had reviewed in that year as well. They are now ready to share their personal preferences and other assorted thoughts on the year, along with some fun diversions. It's a jam-packed episode with none other than BaaM's former producer/host Carlos returning for all the fun!
Sarah Polley's latest effort, Women Talking, is currently in limited release as a nominee for Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay. BaaM invited a crackerjack panel of returning guests - Emily Suggs (Episode 205) and Kailey Diaz (Episodes 216 and 228) - along with one new guest, psychologist Dr. Pam Brouillard, to discuss it over, you guessed it, some beer. As a second film, we look at She Said, a dramatization of the investigative reporting that led to the downfall of Harvey Weinstein, that is now streaming on Peacock.

Coincidentally, this interview with American conductor Garrett Keast appears exactly a year since our last episode together. 27 December seems to be our anniversary! Also lasst euch überraschen ;) Viel Spaß wünschen eure Alpha Almans!
We head to the kitchen this week to take on two films that take the world of fine dining as their settings. Our first course is a new release, The Menu, starring Ralph Fiennes as a legendary chef known for creating multi-course meals that tell stories for his elite clientele. The second is Peter Greenaway's notoriously decadent and stylized The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover, a film that succeeded with audiences in its initial release despite (because of?) the threat of an X-rating. Joining us for this cinematic feast is returning BaaM guest, Harold Ramos, an Executive Chef with a vast knowledge of food as well as movies and beer. Join us for this week's degustation, won't you?
When a "Weird Al" biopic was announced, the BaaM crew knew right away that we would need to cover such a monumental cinematic event. Now that it's dropped, Joe recruited a longtime film friend, Sean McLain, to join us for a fun conversation about films that play fast and loose with pop music history, including a look back at 24 Hour Partly People, a film that seeks to convey the energy of the punk/post-punk/"Manchester" scene. Somehow we make it all work despite some technical difficulties along the way.
Em nosso novo episódio temos como convidado o Renzo Costa da @skopodigital e iniciaremos uma série especial falando sobre Marketing Digital!Acesse e ouça nosso podcast.
Coming off a full month of horror, we take a gander at something at least horror-adjacent, Wendell & Wild, a new Henry Selick stop motion animated feature - his first in 13 years - written with Jordan Peele and including the voice talent of longtime Peele collaborator Keegan Michael Key. Does this reach the heights of his past efforts such as Nightmare before Christmas and Coraline? We pair it with an earlier stop motion feature from Czech legend, Jan Svankmajer, which offers his unique interpretation of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. To make this all work, we bring in an original host from BaaM's past, Ethan Thompson, and we enjoy some hazy offerings, both of an alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety. There's a little something for nearly everyone in this episode!

A BaaM tradition returns with our first episode of All Horror October, which happens to also be our final episode with regular co-host Carlos in the mix. We look at two horror films from one of Carlos's favorite filmmakers, Kevin Smith, who is not generally known for overt attempts to frighten audiences. Hear our thoughts on these unique entries in Smith's body of work as we bid a fond farewell to our great friend and collaborator. And, yes, with Sober September in the rearview, we are back to drinking (not near) beer!

Well the plan was for this to be an episode with a guest, than BAAM! Angie got sick, so this is our first episode with a "fill in"… We welcome Andrew Rice to The Dirty Glass Studio to drink some beers from Scotland, and some beers inspired by Scotland. As a family we have known Rice for over 30 years, so we regale in some old tales of drunkin times past. Oh and don't worry, the Dirty Glass Crew will be back full strength next week with Angie holding things together, Denny pouring, and Nick forgetting he scored. Lets raise a glass to Scotland... Cheers!

From October 12-14, additive manufacturing (AM) professionals and those interested in adopting this technology gathered at the Additive Manufacturing Conference + Expo held this year in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attendance was lower than typical for this event, but the quality of the program speakers, exhibitors and attendees shone through. During a day and a half of sessions, speakers covered everything from 3D printed tooling to reshoring manufacturing to how teams of people — not just technology — need to change for successful AM adoption. Peter Zelinski, Julia Hider and Stephanie Hendrixson discuss the themes and ideas that emerged. This episode of the AM Radio podcast is brought to you by PTXPO.
