Tony calls us about a girl named Grace that he matched with on OkCupid. They both put in their profiles that they're looking for a relationship and Tony was eager to start a conversation with Grace, who's beautiful, intelligent, and well, filled with grace! After talking for a little bit, Tony took her on a date to Rigo's in Kapahulu. They eat, share a bottle of wine… Grace was even laughing a TON! He figured that was a good sign that things were going well, but when he tries to plan a second date with her, she's always “too busy.” He's wondering if that's really true. Slept surprisingly well with this super thin doona and no extra weight on top. I'm so used to, like, six layers of doona weight at home. I could get used to staying in a dingy little bedsit like this. I feel like Jarvis in the Live Forever doc. Work. Got a project submitted - mostly. Just a little late. Damn it. Wifi here isn't fit for purpose of wfh - and my work machine doesn't like tethering to my phone. Ah dear. We'll work it out. Had a foodgasm from my souvlaki for lunch. Man alive. So good. Did some extra cleaning here. Visited Pusey's residence. There's a lot of foxy femininas around. Bought some books. Had a ride on one of the dockless share-escooters - absolute bedlam. Would love to go one day without seeing Tom Holland in a post. Just drinking a lot of beer and gin and reading at the 3002-HQ this evening. TGIF. M: 6. E: 6.
It's here! It's finally here!! The first installment of our "Food, Fate, Fire, and Fetish" month!! On this episode we break down 2 whole OST's worth of music...not cause we wanted, but because we know you wanted it...also because that's what season 1 gave us and we rolled with it. In this episode, we give you the intro you've always wanted, the breakdown of music that felt kind of stale but also rocks your face off. And then some tracks that really put you in the middle of a kitchen setting. It's awesome. We know. Garrett somehow incorporated an audio psychology lesson, so that may be worth your time. (lol) Regardless of anything, this was a fun episode to record and share with you especially on the culinary aspect from Emily being incorporated into the music as well. All around fun and we hope you enjoy it. There's more where this comes from in November!!! Gobble gobble, bitch.YouTube Playlist: AN-25: Food Wars! Here we are finally, the last installment of April Anime, and let's just say we saved best for last! We went really deep in this one, exceeding the two-hour mark going in HEAVY SPOILERS for later seasons (sorry) and exploring the fabric of what really makes us human. Ya, we went far with this one. But what did you expect? That's what happens when Charles and Death get on a long-distance call together.
We love SHOW NOTES! Thanks for joining us for another week of cannasister shenanigans. We love talking about food so much, we had to split this episode in two! Catch the first part of this episode, Foodgasm Part 1, released last week. You might remember last week's fave small business, Coops West Texas BBQ right here in San Diego. Nom nom. This week's small business is so good, we have an entire feature episode. Check out Part 2's feature on our local favorite, @_pickleandbrine! If you had to escape to as desert island and only take 5 foods with you, what would they be? Adrianna takes it away with her 64 uses of olive oil, while Kelli can live off a ginger root; *tight*! If you love nostalgic childhood foods, Beef Stroganoff Hamburger helper, or casseroley goulash, then you'll love the slop we slap on your plate. Wassap lil San Deezies? We are here with one of our favorite episodes to date, talking all things food! This week, we talk about our favorite San Diego restaurants, the dishes that we grew up on as kids, and, well, those 5 foods you'd take with you on a deserted island. Orange you glad you didn't say bananas? Give us some lovin': IG: @karmasdpodcast. We love our Italian word of the day! Tune in for our Sicilian slang for your frowning face. We dive deeper into the Blunt History of Beef Stroganoff, a Russian dish, as well as the suspish details of this beefy situation. We grew up on the Beef Stroganoff that came in a box (hello hamburger helper!!!) but, this dish can be served with bread-buns, rice, or noodles! Check out Pomegranate in San Diego, an amazing Russian restaurant that Adrianna cannot get enough of! Our small business of the week is Coop's West Texas BBQ in Lemon Grove! Adrianna tells delicious tales of the best cornbread she has ever had, tender ribs, homemade sauce, and the dankest potato salad you have ever been served. We absolutely love American BBQ, and Coop's delivers. It is so fantastic that we are comfortable saying the word 'moist' to describe their cornbread! We are literally running there, check out their menu here: Coops West Texas BBQ | Smoked barbecue and southern-style food in Lemon Grove, CA (coopsbbq.com) Pork Chops and Applesauce- name that iconic phrase! Kelli grew up on this dish, and Adrianna has no idea what the hell I am talking about. Tune in for a homemade recipe of some childhood dishes, including Kelli's family recipe- White Trash Goulash. Pray to St. Beshemel, because we have a lot of history to cover! We can't believe Age has never had a PB&J! Sponsor us for one, and we'll show you the world. Today's creature comforts include a hefty portion of Mimosa, as well as a House OG outdoor grow provied by TruMeds Deliver Service. We love our delivery driver, Valentino! Why does it take half an hour to talk about morning routines? And why do we keep talking about it?? We start off this episode with foodgasms and Raven's most hated foods. We discuss the smoke from the fires in the States and the nearby quay that may or may not have been arsonized. In Seraphina, we cheer at her relatability and wonder how we have friends, Phina meets one of her grotesques in real life, we puzzle over how Lucian Kiggs is a bastard as well as a prince, and we meet the one who has been putting dracophobic ideas in Princess Glisselda's head. Other topics include: poop, pumpkin spice, poop, pumpkin cream cold brews, and poop... Thanks so much for listening! In one of our longest episodes yet, Josh sits down with Comedian and Ellen staff writer Adam Yenser, also known as Kevin the Cashier. We start off talking about Hungry Crowd, Toluca Lake’s newest cafe/restaurant, despite the unwanted adult supervision. Josh hits peak “Larry David” in his nuanced restaurant complains, so take note. We talk about comedy battlegrounds in Stand-Up, Sketch, Improv, and TV writer’s rooms in today’s politically charged climate. Josh brags about his ballin’ in unit laundry, which is the highest luxury in Los Angeles - and also leads to the classic “laundry room fight club” story. We discuss people’s lack of compassion in general, but particularly in LA traffic. Josh shares one of his all time favorite Uber stories. Adam talks about his climb through the ranks in the industry, which highlights a crazy time in late night TV history. We talk comedy, controversy, influences, and technique (which everyone loves). Josh is excited that white guys are the new black guys. We dive into comedy in politics and politics in comedy, and what it’s like being libertarian or conservative in today’s landscape. Oh, and if you want Weinstein talk, get ready. Could there ever be a conservative SNL or Daily Show? Let’s Discuss!
