"Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior" is a 1981 Australian action film set in a post-apocalyptic dystopian world. Directed by George Miller, it is the second film in the Mad Max franchise, with Mel Gibson reprising his role as "Mad Max" Rockatansky. The story revolves around a community of settlers who defend themselves against a band of marauders. This tale follows a typical "Western" frontier movie motif, with Max a hardened man who rediscovers his humanity after deciding to assist the settlers. The film was shot on location in various parts of the Outback of New South Wales, predominantly around Broken Hill. Join me as I try to review the hidden gem of a movie made to catch the real-life killer called the Zodiac. The Zodiac Killer is a 1971 slasher film directed by Tom Hanson and starring Hal Reed, Bob Jones, Ray Lynch, and Tom Pittman. The plot is based on the murders committed by the Zodiac Killer in the San Francisco area, though it takes many liberties with the actual investigation with the film providing a name and back story for the killer.Social Media Links:GervaisDemon - TwitchSteven Gervais (@gervaisdemon) | Instagram profileSteven Gervais (@gervaisdemon) | TikTokYouTube.com/@TheGervaisPodcasthttps://discord.gg/FwsTy839PBShyninsWorld - Twitch

Day of the Dead is a 1985 American post-apocalyptic zombie horror film written and directed by George A. Romero, and produced by Richard P. Rubinstein. The third film in Romero's Night of the Living Dead series, it stars Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, Joseph Pilato, Jarlath Conroy, and Richard Liberty as members of a group of survivors of a zombie apocalypse sheltering in an underground bunker in Florida, where they must determine the outcome of humanity's conflict with the undead horde. Romero described the film as a "tragedy about how a lack of human communication causes chaos and collapse even in this small little pie slice of society". Dawn is the second film in Romero's series of zombie films, and though it contains no characters or settings from the preceding film Night of the Living Dead (1968), it shows the larger-scale effects of a zombie apocalypse on society. In the film, a phenomenon of unidentified origin has caused the reanimation of the dead, who prey on human flesh. David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott Reiniger, and Gaylen Ross star as survivors of the outbreak who barricade themselves inside a suburban shopping mall amid mass hysteria. When there is no more room in hell the dead will walk the earth.Social media links:Twitch: TTVGervaisDemon - TwitchYouTube: Youtube.com/@TheGervaisPodcastSteven Gervais (@gervaisdemon) | TikTokSteven Gervais (@ttvgervaisdemon) • Instagram photos and videosGervaisDemon (@TTVGervaisDemon) / X (twitter.com)Discord: https://discord.gg/p8zdYVHJay

Hello everyone, today I talk about the 1986 vigilante action film Eye of the Tiger After serving time in prison, Buck Matthews (Gary Busey), a Vietnam War veteran, returns to his hometown to start his life over with his wife Christie (Denise Galik) and their five-year-old daughter Jennifer (Judith Barsi). He learns that the small town where he grew up is overrun by a large motorcycle gang that rides through the town in large numbers, harassing various citizens. On his first night back at his old job at a construction yard, Buck hears a woman screaming in the distance. He follows the screams to discover a large group of bikers attacking and attempting to rape a local nurse. Buck manages to chase the gang off using his truck, saving the nurse. The leader of the biker gang, Blade (William Smith), takes Buck's actions personally and begins to terrorize Buck and his family. The gang attacks the Matthews' home, beating Buck and killing his wife. This leaves Jennifer, his young daughter, in shock, as she witnesses the entire event. The local sheriff (Seymour Cassel) refuses to help Buck, leaving him with no other option but to take justice into his own hands. Buck then calls in a favor from Jamie (Jorge Gil), a friend from prison. Jamie is a Miami-based Colombian drug kingpin whom Buck saved during a prison riot, and who was also paroled with Buck in the opening scene. Buck receives a high-tech truck, equipped with machine guns and mortars. Buck's friend, J.B. Deveraux (Yaphet Kotto), a local deputy who fought alongside Buck in Vietnam, provides Buck with a history of the motorcycle gang. The sheriff is shown to be colluding with the motorcycle gang as Blade and his men give the sheriff bribes of cash to ignore their activities.Buck and J.B. begin to retaliate against the bikers through various means. Buck uses a wire to string out onto a road to decapitate at least two of the bikers. He lures another small group to their deaths by exploding his old truck when they attack it. He shoots other gang members whom they have seen committing crimes in and around the town.Eventually, the bikers kidnap Buck's daughter Jennifer from the hospital, forcing Buck to go to their camp in the desert outside of town. With the help of J.B., flying a bomb-dropping crop duster airplane, Buck successfully defeats the gang and rescues his daughter. The sheriff tries to have Buck arrested, but the deputies, having enough of his corruption, rebel against him and willingly let Buck deal with him. In an explosive climax, Buck has the local sheriff killed (the sheriff seems to have framed Buck for a murder committed years earlier) by offering him as a target for the gang, and then has a one-on-one fistfight with Blade, which ends with the death of the villain when he accidentally ingests cocaine the gang is manufacturing. With their leader dead, the surviving motorcycle gang members ride away. Buck catches up with J.B. and the other deputies and they celebrate their victory for saving the town.Social Media Links:Twitch: TTVGervais - TwitchYouTube: Youtube.com/@GervaisDemonSteven Gervais (@gervaisdemon) | TikTokSteven Gervais (@ttvgervaisdemon) • Instagram photos and videosGervaisDemon (@TTVGervaisDemon) / X (twitter.com)

Hello everyone and welcome to another amazing episode of the Steven Gervais and Friends Podcasts. Today, I talk about the Minnesota Vikings and the origins of the team all the way up to their first Super Bowl loss in Super Bowl 4 to the Kansas City Chiefs. First, we talk about the background of the sport of football in Minnesota starting with the Minnesota Marines and the Duluth Eskimos. Second, I talk about the team's ties with the AFL before they left to get an NFL expansion team in 1960. But the Vikings although granted an NFL expansion franchise in 1960 would not start playing until 1961 which in my opinion they should have stayed with the AFL. Third, I talk about how the Vikings almost got future Vikings head coach Bud Grant who was coaching in Canada at the time to be the first coach but being a wise man he turned it down. After Norm Van Brocklin made life hell for Fran Tarkenton who would later ask and be granted a trade. Norm would quit the team for the second time and then the Vikings went and hired Bud Grant who instilled a different mindset into the Vikings which was led by Joe Kapp on offense and the Purple People Eaters on defense made a run to Super Bowl 4 although they were heavily favored they would lose to the Kansas City Chiefs. Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend. Thank you for joining me today as I talk about the Jaws ripoff called Grizzly. Grizzly is a 1976 film in which instead of a giant shark it's a giant grizzly bear also instead of a police chief it's a park ranger who has to take on the giant beast. The movie starts with a flyover of a national park. Then we see two female hikers who are killed by an unseen animal after making camp. After the attacks happen we are introduced to the park ranger chief named Michael Kelly who has to deal with the same political crap as Brody had to in Jaws. Then we are introduced to the grizzly who is a monster and let's be honest if you have or haven't seen the film the title pretty much tells you what is gonna happen. Later in the film, we are introduced to naturalist Arthur Scott who acts like the Matt Hooper character in this film. Arthur Scott tells us that it's a prehistoric type grizzly bear and then before you know it the park supervisor lets in a group of amateur hunters who probably die save one of the hunters who escapes by diving into the water. We see a female forest ranger killed in a waterfall by the grizzly, we see a mother killed and her child mutilated but survive. Finally, after the park supervisor allows Kelly to close the park Kelly, Scott, and Stober all go looking for the bear. The first to die is Scott who after being buried up to his head by the grizzly, who later tries to escape only for the bear to come back and kill him. Next to die is Stober after the grizzly attacks his helicopter and he is thrown from the helicopter. Finally, the grizzly is blown up by Kelly to end our movie. Sorry about this Jaws ripoff but I hope you enjoyed Support the show and hope you enjoy My social media links:Instagram:Steven Gervais (@steveng123456) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok:Steven Gervais (@sgandfriendspodcast) | TikTokFacebook group: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast | FacebookYouTube Channel: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast - YouTubeDeluxe Edition Network website: The Deluxe Edition NetworkGoodpods:Profile (goodpods.com)my website: Steven Gervais and Friend's Podcast (www.stevengervaisandfriendspodcast.com)Copper Johns beard: https://lddy.no/1gh13use SGANDFRIENDSPODCAST12 at check out for a 10 % discount on your purchase https://www.buzzsprout.com/1983118/support
Hello, join me as I talk about the 1975 classic Jaws. Jaws is about a giant great white shark who attacks swimmers on Amity Island beaches. After the shark goes after the police chief's eldest son Michael, Brody enlists the help of oceanographer Matt Hooper and also the maniacal shark hunter Quint. Once they head out to sea to find the monster shark only to find out that maybe just maybe they will need a bigger boat. After Quint shoots at it with a harpoon-like gun which has a marker or barrel attached to it so that the shark won't be able to hide under the water. But the shark defies the barrel and disappears and the men later drink and talk about scares but what shocks everyone is Quint's story about the secret mission of the USS Indianapolis. Later after the shark takes out the power the boat floods a bit which later affects the motor of the boat. Seeing no alternative after the shark pulls out the cleats with a rope attached to it. the men later construct Hooper's shark cage only for Hooper to later have to swim away after the shark attacks the cage. Quint is later killed by the shark and Brody jams a tank in its mouth and later blows the shark up. Hooper shown to have survived his encounter with the shark asks Brody about Quint. To which Brody says no. The men then Swim to shore and the movie ends.Support the show and hope you enjoy My social media links:Instagram:Steven Gervais (@steveng123456) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok:Steven Gervais (@sgandfriendspodcast) | TikTokFacebook group: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast | FacebookYouTube Channel: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast - YouTubeDeluxe Edition Network website: The Deluxe Edition NetworkGoodpods:Profile (goodpods.com)my website: Steven Gervais and Friend's Podcast (www.stevengervaisandfriendspodcast.com)Copper Johns beard: https://lddy.no/1gh13use SGANDFRIENDSPODCAST12 at check out for a 10 % discount on your purchase https://www.buzzsprout.com/1983118/support
Hello everyone, Today I talk about the 1954 Kaiju film classic Godzilla. Godzilla is a movie about a large dinosaur-like creature who lays waste to Japan and the fishing industry. Later in the movie, it is found out that the enormous creature was from radiation fallout from Nuclear testing in Japan. After Godzilla attacks Tokyo for the final time a Japanese scientist formulates a plan to kill it with the oxygen destroyer which chokes the oxygen out of the water later killing Godzilla and probably a lot of fish. Godzilla would later become a household name after this movie spawning a franchise that is still going strong today. An Americanized version of the film would be released in 1956 called King of the Monsters. Hello everyone, we have met the 1,000 downloads all-time goal. I want to say thank you and also to say that for the live-stream I might do the Q and A but if I don't I'll still live-stream something which will take place next month. But, today I talk about the 1958 movie called "The Blob" starring Steve McQueen in his first leading role who has to warn the townspeople with his girlfriend about a monstrous blob that creeps and devours its victims. But no one believes our hero's tale of a human-eating monster until it's too late. But never the monster is later stopped because of its hate for freezing cold temperatures which I mean they could have sent it to Minnesota in the Wintertime or Canada. Lol, but if you can get pasted the cheesiness of the movie and the incredible cringe song called Beware of the Blob then I'm sure you can survive anything. Hello everyone, even though I recorded this on Thursday I wanted to release it today. Herb Brooks was a player and a coach his high school hockey team won the 1955 state ice hockey championship. He also played for the Minnesota Gophers in college from 1955-59. He was a member of the 1960 US hockey team but was the final cut where he watched with his dad on tv that team win the gold medal at Squaw Valley. He later told the coach of that team he made the right decision because they won. From 1960 to 1970 he set a record by playing for the US national team eight times including the 64 and 68 teams. he would later coach the Golden Gophers to three NCAA championships in 1974, 1976, and 1979. In 1980 he would get the opportunity to complete a dream of his by being named the head coach of the US Olympic hockey team he would lead that team by strict means and would later be the USSR Olympic team in Squaw Valley in a game known as the Miracle on Ice and that team would later win the gold medal. After that, he would coach for the NHL and the Olympics twice more. Herb Brooks would die on August 11th, 2003 at the age of 66 near Forest Lake Minnesota. At the time of his death a movie was being made called Miracle starring Kurt Russell as Herb Brooks and the movie showed not only the ways he coached the team but the miracle it would take to get the team passed the Soviets. The movie was later dedicated to him saying he never saw it. He lived it. Hello everyone, today I talk about the legendary QB for the CFL and NFL Joe Kapp. Joe lost his battle with Alziemherz's disease on May, 8th, 2023 at the age of 85. He was a QB for the Cal Golden Bears, he also was drafted by the Washington Redskins now known as the Commanders in the 18th round of the 1959 NFL draft but ended but going up to Canada and playing for the Calgary Stampeders and the BC Lions of the Candian Football League. While in the CFL he earned an elite status for leading the BC Lions to a Grey Cup appearance in 1963 and a win in the Grey Cup in 1964. Before the 1967 season, he announced that he wanted to return to the United States and play for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. Also, teams interested in him were the AFL's Oakland Raiders now the Las Vegas Raiders, San Diego Chargers now the LA Chargers, and the Huston Oilers now the Tennesse Titans. He was traded to the Minnesota Vikings in a multi-player trade. Which saw the Vikings get Kapp and the CFL get Vikings player Jim Young who wanted to return to his native Canada. Joe's first season with the Vikings ended with 8 touchdowns and 17 interceptions, but the team showed improvement even though they went 3-5-3. 1968 saw the Vikings improve and play in their first-ever playoff game against the legendary Baltimore Colts now known as the Indianapolis Colts, they would lose that game. But in 1969 the Vikings with the motto of "40 for 60" would make a run led by Kapp on offense and the Purple People Eaters' defense. Kapp at an awards banquet would later turn down the team MVP award saying there is no one most valuable Viking there are forty most valuable Vikings I can't accept this and walked away to a roaring crowd of cheers. The Vikings would make it all the way to Super Bowl 4 where they lost to the Kansas City Chiefs of the AFL 23-7. Kapp would later become a free agent by NFL rules and he was "traded" to the Boston Patriots now known as the New England Patriots. After his playing career was done he would be in movies and tv shows. He would later become a coach and a gm. We here at the Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast wish to show our condolences to the Kapp family and to thank Joe for making the Vikings winners even though we didn't win the Superbowl.Support the show and hope you enjoy My social media links:Instagram:Steven Gervais (@steveng123456) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok:Steven Gervais (@sgandfriendspodcast) | TikTokFacebook group: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast | FacebookYouTube Channel: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast - YouTubeDeluxe Edition Network website: The Deluxe Edition NetworkGoodpods:Profile (goodpods.com)my website: Steven Gervais and Friend's Podcast (www.stevengervaisandfriendspodcast.com)Copper Johns beard: https://lddy.no/1gh13use SGANDFRIENDSPODCAST12 at check out for a 10 % discount on your purchase https://www.buzzsprout.com/1983118/support

Hello everyone, sorry that I didn't record on Saturday but today I bring to you the long recorded New York Jets episode and the return to respectability. First, they hired Bill Parcells in the hope that he could lead them to the promised land and he went by retooling the QB position by signing free agent Vinny Testaverde. But even this success was short-lived and Parcells would step down as head coach for an office position in the organization which opened the door for Bill Belichick to become head coach of the Jets but would later turn it down in order to become the head coach of the Patriots. The Jets would then bring in Herman Edwards as head coach who would be the first black head coach in Jets history. With Edwards as head coach, he would bring playoff victories but no appearances in the super bowl. Later, he would step down as head coach to coach the Kansas City Chiefs. In would come Eric Magini who had served as the Patriots' defensive coordinator with Magingi he would later bring in Brett Favre in later years who would help the Jets almost reach a playoff berth if not for a torn rotator cuff. Magini would be fired and the Jets would bring in former Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator Rex Ryan who would bring his own style to the Jets and draft the later infamous Mark Sanchez. Hello everyone, today I talk about the early 90s era Jets as they tried to find success but that would have to wait as all three coaches of that early era lost in major ways. First, the Jets hired Bruce Coslet who would lead them to an appearance in the playoffs only to lose to the Houston Oilers also he missed out on drafting Brett Favre. Next, they would hire Pete Carroll who would also lead them nowhere but would later come back to coach the Seattle Seahawks. Finally, they made the disastrous hiring of Rich Kotite who also led the Jets to you guessed it nowhere. Hello everyone, today I talk about the rebuilding process by the New York Jets after they let go of future Hall of Fame QB Joe Namath and how Richard Todd was first thought of as the new face of the franchise but would fail in the many attempts he had. Opening the door for the Jets in the 1983 NFL draft to draft QB Ken O'Brien while passing on the chance to draft Future Hall of Fame, QB Dan Marino. Also, the Jets would leave Shea Stadium and move to New Jersey and room with the Giants at Giants Stadium. Thursday I will be talking about the 90s era of the New York Jets. Hello everyone, Today I talk about the "Broadway" Joe Namath era of the New York Jets and how the team built around him to win Super Bowl 3 against the Baltimore Colts. After that, the Jets would go down a long stretch of losing seasons due to Namath's knees and the team being gutted after the Super Bowl 3 victory. The Jets would later cut Joe Namath in 1977 and he would then go to the Los Angeles Rams but would retire after the season. Hello everyone. today I talk about the New York Jets' early years in the AFL and how owner Harry Wismer claimed to be everything he wasn't. First, the Jets were called the Titans why well we don't really know why. But later in the 60s, the AFL would be done with Wismer and sell to a five-man ownership group led by David "Sonny" Werblin. After they hired Weeb Ewbank to be the coach the team took on a new name the Jets. They would also move to the Shea Stadium in 1964 and with that, they would end the season with the first overall pick in the 1965 AFL draft which they would later pick Joe Namath AKA Broadway Joe. Well everyone we have come to the final episode of the series in the North Stars franchise here in Minnesota. It was emotional reading and sharing this with the fans and everyone who listens to the podcast. Minnesota North Stars would make a Cinderella run in the 1991 season before losing in the Stanley Cup finals to the Pittsburgh Penguins and Mario Lemieux. Then the ownership of Norm Green or greed would lead to the move to Dallas and become the Stars. Why didn't the Minnesota politicians come together and build a new stadium or at least try and keep the North Stars' name for another Minnesota Hockey team? But alas that is the end of the North Stars' time in Minnesota granted I wonder if the Wild could change the name back to the North Stars seeing as how they are wearing the North Stars' colors but with the Wild logo. Who knows but join me on Thursday I will be starting my New York Jets series.Support the show and hope you enjoy My social media links:Instagram:Steven Gervais (@steveng123456) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok:Steven Gervais (@sgandfriendspodcast) | TikTokFacebook group: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast | FacebookYouTube Channel: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast - YouTubeDeluxe Edition Network website: The Deluxe Edition NetworkGoodpods:Profile (goodpods.com)my website: Steven Gervais and Friend's Podcast (www.stevengervaisandfriendspodcast.com)Copper Johns beard: https://lddy.no/1gh13use SGANDFRIENDSPODCAST12 at check out for a 10 % discount on your purchase https://www.buzzsprout.com/1983118/support
Hello everyone, today I talk about the 80s era of the Minnesota North Stars and how they made a run for the playoffs and the Stanley Cup. But ultimately they would fall to the Islanders and the Edmonton Oilers led by the great one Wayne Gretzky. Also later in the decade attendance and record became worrisome as the North Stars owners started to threaten to move to the San Francisco bay area. Sadly the next decade would be the last for the North Stars in Minnesota because, in the early 90s, the team would move to Dallas and become the Dallas Stars. Hello everyone, today I cover one of my favorite Minnesota sports franchises that being the Minnesota North Stars. The North Stars played in Minnesota from 1966-1993 but didn't play their first game until 1967. After the 1992-93 NHL season the North Stars left Minnesota and headed south for Dallas and were renamed the Dallas Stars. I hope you enjoy it as listening to this episode might bring up some sour days from fans of the club but I enjoyed making this episode and turning it into a series for the fans. Although I never watched the North Stars play since they had already left once I was born. I remember my parents talking about them and I since then have been a fan of a team no longer called the North Stars. Hello everyone, today I talk about the Barry Sanders era and how I felt this was gonna be the probably best time to win a Super Bowl for the Lions but it wasn't meant to be. The drafting of Barry Sanders in 1989 gave Detroit another face of the franchise in Barry as he was pretty much the team on offense while on defense you had Chris Speilman to name a few. Also, I shouldn't forget the best receiver named Herman Moore. But with all that talent all the Lions could do is make it to the playoffs and win only one playoff game in the 90s. Barry Sander after joining the 2,000-yard rushing club would retire after the 1998 season. Thank you and hope you enjoy it, Thursday I'll be talking about a new topic.Support the show and hope you enjoy My social media links:Instagram:Steven Gervais (@steveng123456) • Instagram photos and videosTikTok:Steven Gervais (@sgandfriendspodcast) | TikTokFacebook group: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast | FacebookYouTube Channel: Steven Gervais and Friends Podcast - YouTubeDeluxe Edition Network website: The Deluxe Edition NetworkGoodpods:Profile (goodpods.com)my website: Steven Gervais and Friend's Podcast (www.stevengervaisandfriendspodcast.com)Copper Johns beard: https://lddy.no/1gh13use SGANDFRIENDSPODCAST12 at check out for a 10 % discount on your purchase https://www.buzzsprout.com/1983118/support
Hello, today I talk about the Lions yet again and how they at least tried to make a run for the Super Bowl but would fall flat in 1982 in the playoffs by the Former Washington Redskins and in 1983 by the 49ers. Also, running back Billy Sims would suffer a career-ending knee injury in 1984 but there is hope because a coach would get them back on the right track was hired as interim head coach in 1988. Wayne Fontes would ultimately steer the ship in the right direction in the 1990s. Also, another Hall of Fame running back by the name of Barry Sanders would be the face of the franchise in the 90s. But that episode and topic is for another day thank you for the amazing support on the podcast we are almost at 700 downloads on this podcast and next month will be the 4-year anniversary of my starting the podcast.
