Norsca lies on the very doorstep of the northern Chaos Wastes themselves. It is bordered to the south by the freezing waters of the Sea of Claws, to the north by the Sea of Chaos and the Chaos Wastes, and to the east by the roving Kurgan tribes of the Eastern Steppes.Norsca is inhabited by a race of savage and ferocious Men known variously as Norscans, Norsemen or the Norse. Long ago, in the time of Sigmar, when these people still inhabited the northern lands of what would become the Empire, they were known as the Norsii.Support the show

Aryans don't really exist, they are arguably less real than Aliens and Big-foot. We have no names of any Indo-European, they have left behind no texts, and no archaeological artefacts can definitely be traced to them. Yet most of you probably think this statement is hysteric. How so? Who introduced this notion? Well starting of small, the French Revolution, and the birth of socialism, was betrayed, not as most bourgeois historians would tell you by a zealous atheism or plebeian blood-thirst. But by a reactionary movement who praised ethnic origins. For more than two hundred years after the storming of the Bastille, recruited intellectuals have searched in vain for these lost people. Their descendants today teach about ascended masters to the most gone a far, and those more within the general grind are told about charisma. At the phallic heart of their desires lies a castration anxiety. Be it testicle sunbathing morons looking to make a buck of the desperation of the youth on social media or the cognac drinking editors of Mankind Quarterly who gave us the Bell Curve. All of them are worried sick. Worried sick that the western legacy is nothing but a cultural bi-product of a Jewish tradition. Which is why you never hear of Jesus, the Jew of Nazareth or that the early Christians were a Semitic cult. So instead they have been reaching, reaching far and wide. We want to tell you about this reaching, since it concerns the fetishization of our own people, those of the Nord, relativity speaking an insignificant number of people who are in numbers less than the inhabitants of New York, certainly less than the population of Chongqing. So come with us again as we tell you how we were made to believe in made up people like the "Scythians", the barbarians of 80s Kurgan blockbusters. And how the proud working people of India were ravaged to die on the plantations of the Brits while they took their ancient texts.
In this episode we introduce you all to the charmingly rustic, though somewhat “evil”, peoples of the north. The four great nation tribes, the Marauders, of the very stabby arctic circle. We start with the Norscans of … well… Norsca, those evil vikings that patrol the sea of claws and raid the costs of the old world. Moving east we then take a gander at the nomadic Kurgan tribes and then the stone age savages that raid both Cathay and Naggaroth, the Hung. We briefly touch on the most mysterious and violent of the tribes, the Tong, before giving a somewhat confusing description of the layers of tribal society. This isn't cool- this isn't hip! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys tune in to a classic episode, with a lengthy story involving Cactus Jack, Chainsaw Charlie, and the New Age Outlaws. “Merolyndust” does a great job of being bizarre, the NWA does a great job of being terrible, and the Kurgan does a great job of dragging a jobber by his forehead. Tiger Ali Singh graces the screen, and Wink Collins almost gets murdered by Kane. Damn it, somebody's got to make fun of Sable!

It's a two-man booth tonight! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys watch the fifth anniversary episode of Monday Night Raw in the lead-up to the Royal Rumble Pay Per View. A Jobber of the Week double-header props up a match with the Kurgan and Jackyl, a four-man tag team match tries to prop up the limping tag team division, and Taka Michinoku jobs out to Los Boricuas. Goldust cosplays as Sable and Dude Love on the same night, and- oh no! It's the Honky Tonk Man!
“Can we all agree now that it makes more sense than Kurgan being Ric Flair in a carpark'” The panel of peril stand about a bit as a battle rages around them; no one will fight them for some reason. As they are clearly too ‘ard for the other combatants, they head home to watch this week's film Highlander (Russell Mulcahy, 1986). Connor Macleod (Christopher Lambert) can only be killed by the act of decapitation (preferably by sword). He is a member of an exclusive band of centuries-old Immortals who await the Gathering, at which they will fight to the end, and after which there can be only one. Guided by mentor Ramirez (Sean Connery), can Macleod survive to the bitter end and take out arch-nemesis The Kurgan (Clancy Brown)? Watch the trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omOZyLmNMJs ********PLOT SPOILER ALERT******** The Kurgan is out for more than just the world domination his final victory would surely guarantee. He wants revenge for the scar Connor's mentor gave him across the length of his neck, a constant reminder of his near defeat. Each man cuts a swathe through the other Immortals as they march towards a final confrontation in New York City and the prize of The Quickening! Just what did the panel think of this week's movie? How can they improve upon The Kurgan's bulldozer-style plan? It's a cavalcade of jobbers all throughout the bowels of the building! In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys bear witness to a great episode full of attitude. Sergeant Slaughter continues to be emasculated, Sable strips out of a reindeer costume, and Stone Cold accosts Santa Claus. The Rock, Undertaker, Ken Shamrock, and D-Lo Brown all have great matches, but the tag team division flounders, and the Kurgan only works his traps. Here's a couple of Christmas PACKAGES for you!

Who told Jeff that any of that was good? In this episode of Wrasslin' Raw, the boys get the fallout from the Pay Per View, with the debut of “Mr. McMahon” as well as the debut of Sable's boobies. D-Generation X sits down for a game of strip poker, gang warfare continues with no seeming end, and Flash Funk gets jobbed out to the Kurgan. “The Son of Lawler'' continues to haunt the Light Heavyweight Division, and Shawn Michaels' BULGE haunts our screens!

Kev was just tryin' to pod. That's all. He wasn't asking for much. We get into the weeds about a brown Christmas, Randy is still salty about not being able to get a burger in Kindersley at 11pm, and the boys discover that they have a potential double act that they may or may not choose to exploit at some future point. Also, Kevin makes a very strange noise and there's an awful lot of childish tittering in this hour and twenty-ish minutes of nonsense! Plus, LACROSSE TALK!If Randy were to title this episode, he'd probably call it "Can we wrap up this Highlander stuff already?" or possibly "Kurgen. Kurgen? Just because we think its nonsense doesn't mean we AND you can't like it, but seriously.... Highlander, the 1986 fantasy film directed by Russell Mulcahy, is a cinematic rollercoaster that manages to be entertaining despite its numerous flaws. To put it bluntly, it's not a good movie in terms of traditional filmmaking standards, but there's an undeniable charm and fun factor that makes it enjoyable for those who appreciate its chaotic nature. One of the major issues with Highlander is its convoluted plot. The film tries to blend elements of fantasy, science fiction, and historical drama, creating a narrative that feels like it's trying to do too much at once. The result is a confusing and overly complex storyline that often leaves viewers scratching their heads. Immortal warriors battling through the centuries could have been a compelling premise, but Highlander takes it to such extremes that it becomes a total mess. The acting in Highlander is nothing short of over-the-top, with Christopher Lambert's portrayal of the immortal Scotsman Connor MacLeod bordering on campy. While Lambert's performance may not be a masterclass in subtlety, it adds a certain charm to the film. Similarly, Clancy Brown as the villainous Kurgan hams it up with relish, delivering lines with a theatricality that is both cringe-worthy and oddly captivating. The special effects in Highlander are undeniably cheesy, even by 1980s standards. The low-budget visuals, combined with questionable choreography in the fight scenes, result in moments that are more likely to induce laughter than awe. However, these flaws contribute to the film's unique appeal. There's a certain nostalgia attached to the practical effects and dated visuals that endear Highlander to a specific audience willing to overlook its technical shortcomings. In the end, Highlander is a guilty pleasure. It's a film that you can love for its quirks and enjoy for its unintentional humor, all while acknowledging its lack of cinematic finesse. The messy plot, over-the-top acting, and cheesy effects somehow come together to create a cinematic experience that, while far from being a quality film, manages to be a memorable and entertaining ride for those who appreciate its peculiarities. Highlander is a case where the sum of its parts somehow adds up to an oddly enjoyable whole.

It's the movie that started this whole podcast: Russel Mulcahy's ridiculous, awesome, Queen-scored tale of an immortal Scottish swordsman/New York antiques dealer who goes up against the villainous Kurgan. And in honor of the event, we have a special guest, comedian and voice actor Jason Gore from The Best Show with Tom Scharpling and 108.9 The Hawk. It's a great chat, and we're grateful to Jason for taking the time to watch the and talk to us about it.
3400 - 2600 BCE - The Yamnaya Culture was a successful part of the wider Kurgan culture of the Pontic-Caspian Steppe. This Bronze Age culture influenced its neighbours and may have brought Bronze Age culture and modern European language to the European continent, as well as influencing the futures of Persia and India.
In this exclusive interview with Dr. Quinn Schroeder we'll be discovering the fascinating history of Gavril Ilizarov, the godfather of limb lengthening. Joining us for this conversation is Dr. Quinn Schroeder, a foot and ankle doctor from Ohio who is also in the process of writing a composite novel on real life stories of medicine that keeps people in motion. Quinn - a good friend of mine - aka "The Novelist" - has a deep interest in limb lengthening and was willing to come on and do a 3-4 part series on the History of Ilizarov so those prospective, current and past limb lengthening patients as well as orthopedic surgeons can have a deeper understanding of where limb lengthening originated. Get in touch with Dr. Quinn Schroeder here: medicineofmovement23@gmail.com *** POST QUESTIONS in Comments BELOW *** will be answered at the start of next episode. Also if any prospective or current limb lengthening patients wish to have their stories written about in a one-of-a-kind novel, you can email Quinn or myself._________________ Timestamps: 0:00 - Intro 2:25 - Quinn's Intro 4:45 - Novel overview 12:00 - Legacy of Ilizarov 12:30 - Researching Ilizarov 17:00 - Background on bone 23:30 - Bone is “intelligent” tissue 27:50 - Gavril Ilizarov's early days 31:15 - Ilizarov relocated to Kurgan, Russia post WWII 35:00 - Surgery in the early days 40:15 - Ilizarov's early days as a surgeon 47:00 - Inspiration for the Ilizarov ring fixator 50:45 - Quinn's ultimate advice about achieving dreams 53:30 - Metal for making fixators 56:15 - Ilizarov's wife 56:30 - The first form of Ilizarov fixator frame 58:10 - Ilizarov's first patient 1:00:40 - Nonunion 1:02:05 - Tuberculosis patients 1:05:00 - The benefit of the Ilizarov fixator 1:06:05 - Criticism of his work 1:10:30 - Fortitude of Ilizarov 1:11:30 - His signature technique prevented piracy 1:12:40 - Preview for next episode 1:14:00 - Outro 1:14:25 - End of show call to action for viewers __________________________________

This was supposed to be a 'Bite Size' episode. This movie doesn't understand how wrestling territories used to work. Get ready for more bad impressions. George gets pissed that Matt knows who these wrestlers are. The Kurgan's sword is fucking sweet even if it would break the first time he used it. The Kurgan unpacks his sword like it is a sniper rifle. This duelist's man servant is gay to the max. Matt wants to see a disabled immortal. All these immortals were definitely cumming when they had their quickenings.Follow us on Twitter @CinemaPoisonContact us at cinemapoisonpodcast@gmail.com
