This is the fourth episode in the five-part series The Corridor, following five independent encounter accounts across five decades along the same north-south ridgeline running from the Cohutta Wilderness in northern Georgia into the mountains of eastern Tennessee.Part Four marks a sharp departure from the first three episodes. Where Herschel, Karen, and Marcus each experienced gradual encounters that unfolded over days or weeks in remote backcountry settings, this story happens in a matter of seconds on a public road with a van full of witnesses. In the summer of twenty-eleven, a youth pastor named David was driving a fifteen-passenger church van loaded with teenagers home from a summer retreat on a two-lane highway that cuts through the valley at the heart of the corridor. It was late and most of the kids were asleep. Something stepped out of the tree line and into the road directly in the path of the van. It was not a deer and it was not a bear. The van's headlights struck it at mid-torso, meaning whatever walked onto that road was tall enough that a beam mounted two and a half feet off the ground was hitting it at the chest. The van made impact hard enough to spin the vehicle off the road and into a ditch. Airbags deployed. When David climbed out to assess the damage, the thing was standing at the edge of the tree line watching the van. It did not appear injured. It did not flee. It stood there, then withdrew into the timber on its own terms. The episode is built around multiple perspectives.David provides the primary account, describing the seconds before and after the impact and what he saw at the tree line. Two of the teenagers who were in the van that night, now adults in their late twenties, independently corroborated his description of the figure's size, posture, and behavior. A local tow truck driver who responded to the call adds a detail none of the others knew — he had pulled three other vehicles out of the same quarter-mile stretch of highway within the previous year, each with similar front-end damage consistent with striking something large and upright at road level. The episode connects back to the series through geography and behavior. The highway where the impact occurred crosses through the same valley described by Herschel in Part One, overlooked by the fire road Karen maintained in Part Two, and visible from the ridge saddle where Marcus observed the clearcut in Part Three.Despite the sudden and violent nature of this encounter compared to the slow escalations in earlier episodes, the behavioral pattern holds — the thing did not panic, did not run, and appeared to control the moment of withdrawal the same way it controlled the moment of contact in every previous story.Have you experienced a Bigfoot sighting, Sasquatch encounter, Dogman experience, UFO sighting, or any unexplained cryptid or paranormal event deep in the woods? This is the second episode in a five-part series called The Corridor, following five separate encounter accounts submitted by five unconnected people across five different decades, all describing experiences along the same north-south ridgeline running from the Cohutta Wilderness in northern Georgia up through the mountains of eastern Tennessee. In Part Two, a woman named Karen shares an account from the summer of nineteen ninety-four. Karen was a seasonal employee with the United States Forest Service, assigned to maintain a decommissioned fire road along a ridgeline in the eastern part of Polk County, Tennessee. The road had been built decades earlier for timber access and fire suppression but had fallen into disuse, and Karen's job was to keep it from washing out entirely — clearing drains, cutting brush, removing blowdowns. She worked alone, driving a Forest Service pickup to the ridge each morning and spending six to eight hours on the road before heading home. The nearest paved road was about seven miles out by dirt track, and radio reception on the ridge was unreliable at best.Over the course of three weeks, Karen documented a series of findings that she logged in a field notebook with times, coordinates, and measurements. During her first week she discovered multiple hardwood trees snapped between six and nine feet above the ground, some with tops wedged into adjacent trees and at least one with a spiral fracture indicating the trunk had been twisted rather than broken by wind or ice. In her second week she began encountering a powerful organic smell at the same GPS coordinates on the road every afternoon, arriving consistently around four o'clock and dissipating within ten to fifteen minutes. At a creek crossing near the smell location she found bipedal tracks in soft mud measuring nineteen inches from heel to toe and roughly seven inches across the ball, with visible toe impressions and no claw marks, spaced in a walking pattern with an estimated stride of four and a half feet. In her third week she discovered handprints pressed into a clay bank alongside the road — large, with long fingers and a clear opposing thumb, significantly bigger than her own hand. The episode builds to the night Karen got a flat tire on the road after dark during her final week on the assignment. Alone, seven miles from pavement, with no cell phone and no radio reception, she knelt beside the truck with a lug wrench and a headlamp to change the tire. While she was working, she heard bipedal footsteps approaching on the gravel road from the north — steady, heavy, two-legged. The footsteps stopped approximately forty feet away and then began pacing back and forth across the road for roughly ten minutes. When Karen stood up, the footsteps stopped. Moments later she heard a single long exhale from the timber on the uphill side of the road, originating from above her own head height and close enough to hear clearly. She got in the truck and drove out on the spare without looking back.he episode also covers Karen's thirty years of silence about the experience, her decision to finally share her account after hearing similar stories on the show, and the behavioral parallels between her encounter and Herschel's account from Part One — including the gradual escalation over days rather than a single sudden event, the feeling of being watched before anything overt occurred, the biological silence that accompanied the closest contact, and the sense that whatever was present controlled the terms and timing of the encounter.Have you experienced a Bigfoot sighting, Sasquatch encounter, Dogman experience, UFO sighting, or any unexplained cryptid or paranormal event deep in the woods? This is the first episode in a five-part series called The Corridor. Over the past eight months, five separate people submitted encounter stories to the show, each from a different decade, none of them connected to one another in any way. When their accounts were mapped, every one of them described experiences along the same north-south ridgeline running from the Cohutta Wilderness in northern Georgia up through the mountains of eastern Tennessee.A narrow valley cuts between two parallel ridges through the heart of this stretch, and every submitter described it independently — the terrain, the quiet, the feeling that something about the place isn't right. This series lays out their stories in chronological order, beginning in nineteen seventy-eight and ending in the present day, and lets the overlapping details speak for themselves. In Part One, a retired carpet millworker named Herschel shares an account he kept private for forty-six years. In the fall of nineteen seventy-eight, Herschel and three hunting buddies leased a parcel in the southern Cohutta through a timber company and set up a deer camp on a bench overlooking the valley at about twenty-eight hundred feet. The first two nights were uneventful. On the third morning, Herschel woke to find the camp rearranged overnight — both Coleman coolers relocated without damage, and a field-dressed doe removed from the hanging pole and placed carefully in the center of the fire ring, untouched and unharmed.Over the following nights, the encounters escalated. Wood-on-wood knocking echoed from the valley below, answered by identical knocking from the ridge above in a coordinated call-and-response pattern. Bipedal footsteps passed through camp close enough for one of the men to feel the ground vibration through his boots and camp chair. On the final night, Herschel aimed his flashlight into the hemlocks at the edge of camp and was met with reddish eyeshine at approximately seven and a half to eight feet, while a deep vocalization from the ridge behind him produced a sound he felt physically in his chest. On the morning they broke camp, Herschel discovered a line of creek stones arranged at the camp's edge, evenly spaced and pointing due north along the ridgeline. The episode introduces the four men who were present — Herschel, Dale, Pete, and Jimbo — and provides context for their backgrounds, their familiarity with the woods, and their complete lack of interest in or knowledge of the paranormal prior to this experience. It also details Herschel's solo return to the site in nineteen eighty, where he found additional tree breaks extending north along the ridge in a line, and stood on the crest looking into a corridor of unbroken forest stretching as far as he could see. A small being walked across Rebekah's home after a sense of presence had been felt for some time. She never imagined it was possible to have an experience like this…until it happened. The therianthrope being appeared weary from travelling, with staff in hand - ‘his' face reminiscent of an indigenous person. He passed across a doorway in Rebekah's home, seemingly across the building, incongruent to the layout of the house. "The creature was maybe about knee high. It was bipedal and walked with a human gait, but it was a little hunched. I think he might have been wearing brown breeches or something, but nothing else, because his top half was hairy or fur covered, like an animal...my impression was a mixture of animal and human in feature." We discuss the possibility that her home, which is situated next to a mine (a potentially significant factor), lies on a fairy path (a line between two sacred points in the landscape which fairy beings travel along). We also hear how a previous occupant may have been present in the house and possibly took the form of an ‘angel' who used to visit Rebekah's daughter as a child. I was fascinated to hear about the ancient ‘Stonehenge-like' monument beneath the surface of Lake Michigan - one of the sacred sites mentioned. This is part four of a ten-part series from Garrett, a residential contractor on a remote forty-seven-acre property in the southern Appalachians of western North Carolina. After the vocal mimicry encounter in October 2015, Garrett pulled back from the back acreage and spent the late fall and early winter in a contracted routine close to the cabin. The knocking went quiet by mid-December, and he assumed the creature had withdrawn deeper into the national forest for the cold months. On the night of January 8, 2016, a storm dropped nine inches of fresh snow. Garrett woke the next morning to a pristine landscape and discovered a line of enormous bipedal tracks leading from the northeast tree line to the cabin in a straight, undeviating path. The tracks circled the full perimeter of the structure, pausing at the southwest corner directly outside his bedroom window and again at the back door, where handprints in the snow on the log wall indicated something had leaned against the cabin with both palms splayed. The trail then crossed the meadow to Bishop Creek, where the thing entered the water and vanished without leaving an exit trail on either bank.Garrett called his friend Cliff, who drove up from Gastonia and spent the afternoon examining and measuring the evidence. Individual prints measured seventeen inches long and punched through the full snowpack into frozen ground.Handprints beside the back door extended beyond the span of Cliff's outstretched hand. The stride averaged fifty-four inches at a walking pace. That evening, after Cliff left, Garrett went out to recheck the tracks and discovered a second set of prints paralleling his own bootprints from that morning. Something had returned and retraced his exact route around the cabin. At the bedroom window, the new tracks stepped even closer than the overnight set, and knuckle impressions on the windowsill indicated something had leaned forward to look inside. After midnight, Garrett heard four sequential wood strikes descending from the ridge toward the cabin, each closer and louder than the last. The final strike, from roughly thirty-five yards away, rattled the window glass. At dawn, he found a fresh trail ending at a massive red oak near the cabin, its bark shattered at eight feet by a single blow.Garrett reflects on the realization that the winter visits had likely been occurring all along, invisible without snow, and that the creature's nightly routine included circling the cabin and observing him while he slept. The series continues with Story Five, in which Garrett hikes to a bluff overlook that Earl warned him never to visit after dark.Have you experienced a Bigfoot sighting, Sasquatch encounter, Dogman experience, UFO sighting, or any unexplained cryptid or paranormal event deep in the woods? A former Marine infantry sergeant breaks twenty years of silence about what happened to him in the Trinity Alps Wilderness of Northern California in October 2003. He didn't want to write in. He's not a Bigfoot guy. But his teenage daughter listens to the show and finally wore him down.Mike and two lifelong hunting buddies were on a five-day backcountry elk hunt deep in the Trinity Wilderness, roughly fourteen miles from the nearest trailhead. On the third day, he picked up on something most people would've missed — the gut-level feeling of being watched and paced. Instead of panicking, he ran deliberate route changes and counter-surveillance techniques to confirm what his instincts were telling him. Something large and bipedal was tracking them from two to three hundred yards back, using terrain and timber for concealment with a discipline he'd later associate with trained military scouts. On the fourth night, it closed the distance to forty yards and stood at the edge of their camp. His buddy nearly fired. Mike stopped him — not out of compassion, but out of a cold tactical calculation that still resonates twenty years later. They packed out at first light and covered fourteen miles in a single push.Mike went on to enlist in the Marines, served two combat tours in Iraq including Fallujah, and earned a Purple Heart. He says what he experienced in the Trinity Alps scared him worse than anything he faced overseas. This episode explores why, and what his story tells us about the intelligence, patience, and capabilities of whatever's living in those mountains. This is one of the most detailed and tactically sophisticated encounter reports we've ever received on this show. You don't want to miss it.
Over the next few weeks, I'm gonna be sharing my new book with you—start to finish. The whole thing. It's called Bigfoot Country. All told, it's around eight hours of narration. So, I'll be putting it out in multiple episodes. And honestly... I've been sitting on this for a long time. I'm excited—and a little nervous—to finally put it out there. But before we jump in, I wanna take a minute. Just you and me.What you're about to hear is loosely based on my life. Some of it happened exactly the way I tell it. No embellishment, no polish. Other parts are rooted in real experiences—real people, real moments, real emotions—but maybe stretched a bit, or reimagined, to help the story breathe. And then there are parts where… well, you get to decide what you believe.I also wanna be upfront about something. Early on, you might find yourself wondering where this is all headed. There's a lot of groundwork—family, childhood, personal history. Just know this: it's going somewhere. This book is about Bigfoot. That's the destination. I promise. Just trust me long enough to get there. At its heart, this is a story about my earliest experiences with the strange and unexplained. It starts with something that happened to me when I was twelve years old—an encounter with what I believe was a Sasquatch. That moment stayed with me. It shaped a lot of who I became. And for years, I struggled with how—or even if—I should ever tell that story. Because how do you talk about something the world insists isn't real? How do you open yourself up like that, knowing people are gonna judge you, doubt you, or dismiss you entirely? But these stories have always mattered to me. This book has always mattered. And at some point, I realized I was done keeping it all tucked away. Here's the thing, though—I didn't just write about Bigfoot. I wrote about me. All of me. My childhood. My parents. My failures. My struggles. And yeah… Dani.I know that part isn't gonna sit well with everyone. I get that. Some folks are gonna have opinions, and that's their right. But for me, leaving any of that out would've been dishonest. I can't ask you to trust me with these experiences and then hide pieces of who I am. I can't tell my story without including the person who stood beside me through the hardest parts of it. That's just not how I live, and it's not how this book was written.Believe me, I thought about sanding down the rough edges. Making it cleaner. Safer. Easier to swallow. Cutting out the parts that might make people uncomfortable. But I couldn't do it. I've spent too much of my life holding back, and I'm done with that.So this is me. This is my story. All of it. Some of what you'll hear happened exactly as I describe it. Some of it is how I imagine things might have gone—if the timing had been different, if I'd pushed harder, if the world worked the way I think it sometimes should. And one last thing before we start—this is Book One. There's more coming. A lot more. This is just the beginning. I hope you enjoy Bigfoot Country... as much as I did writing it. Part One is called The Hollow, and it begins in September of 1984. I was eleven years old, just a few months shy of twelve, and my family had just moved to a place called Lyerly, Georgia. Population next to nothing. No stoplight. One gas station. The kind of town where everybody knew everybody's business before you even finished doing it. We moved into an old house at the end of a dirt road—a house that looked like something had crawled there to die. White paint gone gray. Porch sagging in the middle. Eighty acres of woods stretching out behind it like a wall. My father, Jerry Patterson, was a drinker. A man whose silence usually meant a storm was building. My mother, Jean, was small but fierce in the ways that mattered—even if she couldn't fix the things that were broken in our family. She stayed. She always stayed. The woods became my escape. I spent those early weeks mapping the land, building forts out of fallen branches and rotting tarps, disappearing into the trees whenever the tension at home got too thick. I learned every trail, every landmark, every corner of that property. All except one. There was a section way back at the far edge, where our land butted up against the national forest, that I couldn't bring myself to enter. Every time I got close, something pushed me back. A wrongness I couldn't name. A feeling like walking into a cold spot in a warm room. One day in late October, I decided I'd had enough of being scared. I was almost twelve years old. Too old for this. So I grabbed my BB gun and headed out to prove to myself there was nothing back there worth fearing. I was wrong. What I found was a clearing with a depression in the ground where something big had been bedding down. The smell hit me first—wet dog mixed with a dumpster behind a butcher shop. And then the sounds. Heavy footsteps. Bipedal. Something walking on two legs that weighed more than any man. Huffing. Growling. Sounds that rose and fell in patterns that almost seemed like language. It charged at me through the underbrush, stopped maybe twenty feet away, and just... breathed. Watched. Decided. It let me go.I ran home faster than I'd ever run in my life. And I never told a soul. But that wasn't the only strangeness that followed us to that house. At night, I started hearing voices in the walls—whispery, indistinct, speaking in languages I couldn't understand. A dark figure began appearing at the foot of my bed, a void shaped like a man, watching me while I lay frozen and unable to scream. Scratching moved through the walls like something was circling me. Three heavy knocks shook my bedroom door one night, and when I opened it, no one was there—but downstairs, a fire was burning in a fireplace we never used, in a chimney my father said was blocked.Something was in that house. Something that had been there before us and didn't want us there. And then, in January, everything changed. My mother got sick. Skin Cancer. The doctors gave her six months, maybe a year. And my father—the man who was supposed to hold us together—disappeared. Shacked up with some woman in another town, drowning himself in pills and booze while his wife was dying and his son was alone. I ended up staying with my best friend Brad Henderson's family. They took me in without question, gave me a bed and a place at their table. And every weekend, someone drove me to Atlanta so I could watch my mother fade away in a hospital room. She lost her hair. Lost her weight. Lost everything except her will to fight.Against all odds, she won. Almost a year to the day after her diagnosis, the doctors told us her cancer was in remission. She came home for Christmas, weighing maybe eighty pounds, wrapped in a scarf my friend's mother had knitted for her. And the first thing she did was look at my father's empty chair and say the words I'd been waiting to hear my whole life. We're leaving. But leaving wasn't simple. My father showed up one last time, took my mother's pain medication right out of the medicine cabinet, and vanished. He started selling those pills around town—the same town that had taken up a collection to help us, the same community that had rallied around my dying mother while he was nowhere to be found People got angry. The wrong kind of people. One night in January, I woke up to the sound of voices and vehicles in the yard. I looked out my window and saw twenty figures in white robes standing around a burning cross. The Klan had come to our house. Not because of us—because of him. Because of the shame he'd brought on his family in a place that took such things seriously. We left Lyerly two weeks later. My mother divorced my father, took back her maiden name, and we started over in a tiny apartment in Summerville. Two bedrooms. Thin walls. Stained carpet. But it was ours. And it was safe. I got a job at Dairy Queen. Went to school. Helped my mother however I could. The nightmares followed me—the dark figure, the dreams of something chasing me through endless woods—but I buried it all. Pushed it down. Told myself it didn't matter anymore. But I never forgot what I heard in those woods. Never forgot that huffing, that growling, those footsteps too heavy to be human. I knew it was real. I knew it was out there. And someday, I was going to find it again. But first, I had to grow up. First, I had to survive. That's Part One of Bigfoot Country.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/sasquatch-odyssey--4839697/support.

That's Part One of Bigfoot Country.
In this episode of Bigfoot Society, we travel to rural Ontario, Canada where a witness describes a terrifying close-range Sasquatch encounter in the dead of winter. While standing alone near a frozen lake, swamp, and forest edge, the witness realizes he is no longer alone. What followed was complete silence broken by heavy breathing, grunting, and footsteps in deep snow, coming from a massive creature estimated to be 8 to 12 feet tall—less than ten yards away. Unable to see it in the darkness, he could hear it breathe before it suddenly ran through three feet of snow and ice with human-like strides, crashing through the frozen forest. The encounter didn't end there. In the months that followed, the witness reports strange owl-like vocalizations, suspected Sasquatch mimicry, and a growing sense that these beings may be intelligent, patient, and deeply connected to the land. The conversation also explores sightings near the Mississippi Lake and River system, swamp habitats, wildlife feeding patterns, and why Sasquatch encounters are often reported near wetlands and remote conservation areas.
CRYPTID DEEP DIVE: The Fresno Nightcrawlers- In 2007, a security camera in Fresno captured something that defies all biology: two small, white, bipedal figures that look exactly like walking pants. They have no torso, no arms, and no explanation. This isn't a hoax—it's genuine, grainy paranormal footage that became a global phenomenon. Watch the original clip and break down the physics of the "Walking Pants" to see why this creature is either a cryptid... or a glitch in the matrix!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/missing-persons-mysteries--5624803/support.
This week I take a look at Bigfoot sightings in Kentucky, an audience member requested location! Pike County is the easternmost county in Kentucky, bordering West Virginia. Stories in this episode include a deer hunter who encounters a startled Sasquatch; a man in a doctor's office notices an anxious Bigfoot out the office window; a group of men on a hunting trip encounter a Bigfoot crossing the road in front of their truck; a man sees Sasquatch crossing the highway as he's driving to work; and a man has two encounters with a bipedal creature at his parents' home, 30 years apart. Suggested on facebook, and voted on by patreon! Do Dinosaurs still roam the earth? Let's find out! Check out all of our great stuff on the Linktree: https://linktr.ee/allts Dinosaurs were a diverse group of reptiles that lived millions of years ago during the Mesozoic Era, which lasted from approximately 252 million years ago to about 66 million years ago. They were characterized by a range of physical features and behaviors. Here are some key characteristics and aspects of dinosaurs: Diverse Species: Dinosaurs came in various shapes and sizes. They ranged from small, bird-like creatures to massive, long-necked sauropods and fearsome carnivores like Tyrannosaurus rex. Bipedal and Quadrupedal: Dinosaurs could be bipedal, walking on two legs, or quadrupedal, walking on all fours. The transition from a quadrupedal to bipedal stance occurred in several dinosaur lineages. Terrestrial: Most dinosaurs were terrestrial, meaning they lived on land. Some, like the sauropods, were adapted for a herbivorous lifestyle, while others were carnivorous predators. Egg Layers: Dinosaurs laid eggs, which is a characteristic they shared with modern birds and some reptiles. Fossilized dinosaur eggs have been discovered in various parts of the world. Scales and Feathers: Some dinosaurs had scales, while others had feathers. Recent discoveries suggest that many non-avian dinosaurs, especially theropods, had feathers, which could have served various purposes, including insulation and display. Extinct: The non-avian dinosaurs went extinct approximately 66 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period, likely due to a catastrophic event, such as an asteroid impact, volcanic activity, or climate change. Birds as Living Descendants: Birds are considered the living descendants of dinosaurs, specifically theropods. They share many anatomical and genetic similarities with their dinosaur ancestors, which is why they are classified as avian dinosaurs. Social Behavior: Some dinosaur species are believed to have exhibited social behavior, living in groups or herds. This behavior could have provided benefits like protection from predators or improved hunting efficiency. Herbivorous and Carnivorous: Dinosaurs had a wide range of diets. Some were herbivorous, primarily feeding on plants, while others were carnivorous, preying on other animals. Temporal Range: Dinosaurs existed for a vast span of time, with different groups appearing and disappearing over millions of years. The Mesozoic Era is often referred to as the "Age of Dinosaurs" because they were the dominant terrestrial animals during this time. Fossils: Our understanding of dinosaurs is primarily based on fossil evidence. Paleontologists have discovered a wealth of dinosaur fossils, including bones, tracks, and imprints, which have allowed them to reconstruct the appearance, behavior, and ecology of these ancient creatures. Dinosaurs continue to captivate the imagination of people around the world, and ongoing research and discoveries provide new insights into their biology and evolution.

Graphic Warning: Blood and Gore This week we track down to Kentucky to examine the most monstrous tale we've ever tackled, The Beast of the Land Between the Lakes... or Rivers. We explore early Native American tales of shapeshifters and evil shaman in the area that may have caused such a creature to exist. Also, we look at a possible settler family that could have been diseased or cursed to perform some of the heinous acts discussed during this conversation. Furthermore, we discuss more stories from sightings from college to a whole family being brutally extinguished. This episode will be a reminder that the world is a wild place and to always take caution when dealing with nature.
