How To Remove Guilt From Your Food Choices Unchecked guilt and shame around eating behaviors and/or consuming specific foods, can create frustration and pain with food and meals. Not to mention, your mental health and well-being. In this episode, I'm giving you a strategy to lessen your guilt with foods and your meal behaviors. Here is a six-part strategy to help you - 1. Remove /Lessen triggers that reinforce your guilt 2. Determine your “should's and “shouldn'ts" If you typically tell yourself you shouldn't have a particular food, why? Is it a diet that told you not to have it? Is it that it doesn't work well in your body? Is it that you feel inflamed when you eat that food? Is it that you can't stop eating when you eat it? 3. Take your power back by YOU DECIDING. Do you really want to go the rest of your life not having that particular food item just because a diet says it's bad or because it doesn't make you feel great? 4. If you decide you want to have these foods in your life, play with what seems like an amount that feels realistic and good for your body. 5. Notice how that decision feels in your body AFTER you eat. 6. Notice how that amount feels if you play it out 5 years from now. Seeing the long-term impact can help you make small adjustments or help you see how silly it is to have guilt. The 30-Day Challenge starts Monday. If you'd like to join me and an amazing group of women who have already said yes to themselves, who nervously and excitedly are ready to face their beliefs, join me. You CAN change your body, your weight, your fitness, and your health. But sometimes, when I talk to people who share with me that they crave a thinner or lighter body, sometimes it can feel really scary to take action. You may be experiencing this too – you want to take action into creating a thinner and lighter body YET you find yourself pulling back because even though you crave a different version of yourself and your body, you've rehearsed excuse-focused patterns of thoughts like - * It won't work for me. * It will be too time-intensive. * I'm can't figure it out. * I love food too much for my body to really change. * I've tried everything. Nothing seems to work. * OR, this won't work because I have a slow thyroid, I'm big-boned, or I just have big-girl hereditary jeans. Something that my coach and Tony Robbins said that really has helped me assess where I'm pulling back and where I need to up-level, is this - “Your excuses equal your beliefs.” If your beliefs are your excuses and your excuses be your beliefs – then the only thing holding you back is your excuses. If you don't know your excuses, you don't know what's holding you back from having the body and health that you most desire. In this podcast episode, I show a fitness excuse that I was making and the questions I used to change those excuses around, to enhance my fitness. Get ACTIVE - 1. Today write down what excuses you are making about movement, about your weight, overeating, and/or your ability to lose weight that might be getting in the way. 2. What is the impact if you continue believing these beliefs five years from now? 3. Ask yourself - do I want to believe this and if not, how can I begin playing bigger? 4. Take one action right now to move your health and wellness to the next level! The 30-Day Challenge starts Monday. If you'd like to join me and an amazing group of women who have already said yes to themselves, who nervously and excitedly are ready to face their beliefs, join me. On Episode 12 Michael talks about how we can continue to navigate through these next 30 days of Covid-19, and the true power of naming what you are feeling. If you don’t start to name the emotions and feelings you are experiencing, those feelings will eat you alive. He looks at how the simple act of naming what we are feeling can start to allow the anxiety of these days to decrease and feelings of freedom to increase. --------------------------------Connect with DFTW Podcast hereSign up for the NewsletterMichaelHead.orgFacebook Page Instagram - @_michael_head_ Email - DFTWpodcast@gmail.com

Okay, first of all, this episode is NOT about 30 days without food. I've never done that and don't plan on trying it any time soon. However, it is about two important ideas. 1) 30 days. It is the decision to commit to something for 30 days. After you have "Tried Three Times" and determined that something is doable and valuable to you, it's time to go for it! And hey, ESM people can do just about anything for 30 days! 2) Fasting. Fasting in the Bible is the giving up of something comfortable (food) to replace it with something important (prayer). So, when we talk about fasting, we are talking about eliminating something non essential from your day, and instead replacing it with something more important... for 30 days! - How to understand fasting in Bible times- How to fast today in many ways, not just with food- Why it is important to give something up to make room for something else.- How to take the 30 day challenge in your ESM journey- Why is 30 days an important amount of time for proving discipline in your life

One of the main problems people tend to have when learning a new language is that they often try to translate things in their head. Which often means they will directly translate something. This episode is not to make anyone feel bad. This episode is meant to help you learn Japanese. Really. Be honest about your Japanese ability. If listening to the news is so difficult that you are not learning anything from it, then do something that will actually help you. Study what is useful and what is helpful, not what is showy and a lie. You can do this, but studying Japanese in a way that limits your ability will only hurt you in the long run.

にする (ni suru) is used to indicate that something has decided upon something. This can work with nouns and nominalized (words and phrases that have been converted into a noun) phrases. However, it is important to note that this grammar point can only be used when the thing that is being decided upon is under the subject or speaker’s control.
I try to stay off some topics. But in light of this terrible disaster, I had to say something.

何しろ (nani shiro) is used when someone feels very strongly about some unusual or extreme situation. It is different from 本当に because 本当に simply means “really”, without any connotation of something extreme. 何しろ is close to the English expression “believe it or not”, “think what you may”, and “in fact”. Note that this expression is mainly spoken. Learn more at: Manga-sensei.com

いかにも (Ikanimo), similar to 本当に (hontou ni), is used when you want to express that you really believe what you say. Difference between the two is merely the level of formality… meaning that it is a slightly more polite way to say 本当に. It usually comes in a pair with a statement of conjecture. Meaning that something really seems a certain way, or you really feel a certain way about something.

を通して (wo tooshite) shows that something is done through some means, or happens through some time period. On the surface it is quite similar to によって, but there is a subtle difference. によって has a TON of other meanings in addition to the meaning above. So, if you want to be very clear that what you mark is the means, not the indirect agent or something, then you should use を通して. It literally means “passing through ___”, so translates quite directly to the English “through”. Today we are talking about a 'fun' yet sad words called Toutou. とうとう (toutou) Something that the speaker or subject has been expecting “finally” happened. It might sound similar to やっと, but it doesn’t carry the positive connotation of the thing being desirable. Quite the opposite, frequently the thing that happens in a とうとう sentence is something undesirable that one has no control over. However, if the thing was something in your control than it expresses a sense of satisfaction over the process, somewhat similarly to やっと. "Who can't become more than they are today?" ~David Katz David Katz grew up on a small island off Vancouver, British Columbia, where he became acutely aware of just what was washing up on the beach. A lifelong entrepreneur – beginning as a 12-year-old landscaper for hire – Katz always saw opportunities where others saw problems. He joined his entrepreneurial and spiritual callings to create The Plastic Bank, whose ambitious goal is to make plastic waste a currency that transcends poverty while stopping the flow of plastic into our oceans. How did such a paradigm-shifting idea take hold? As Katz put it, "We were living in the future of a possibility that didn’t exist – we had to invite people into that possibility." In true entrepreneurial fashion, Katz encountered one obstacle after another. So just what made him think he could tackle a challenge as big as saving the planet? Katz believes we are all a culmination of all the decisions we’ve ever made and experiences we’ve ever had. How his successes and failures brought him to where he is today is a fascinating and inspiring story from a true visionary. As Katz puts it, “Do those things you want to do and your success is almost assured.” In typical "Habits 2 Goals" style, the interview covers everything from dealing with difficult days to defining success. We explore what habits are essential to the guest's success, advice the guest would give his/her 20-something self, favorite books, quotes and more. Enjoy the show! Highly Structured, Loosely Organized learning enviornments are what is needed in a technology rich classroom if we are going to use technology in authentic and purposeful ways in learning. In this episode I talk about what that means, how I applied it to a 6th grade class and ask for you to help me get more examples of what this looks like in your classroom. Jesus did not necessarily come to add years to our earthly lives, but He did come to add life to our earthly years. So how can we restore our passion for life?
The Bible tells us that every day of our lives we're building a legacy, and every moment we get to choose what materials to build that legacy with.
Of all 4 OMTL principles, learning humbly is the most difficult, but it’s also the most powerful. Discover 3 ways to learn humbly in your life.
Scripture: I John 3:4, Love completely. What does that look like ? What mountains do we need to climb in our relationships to love people in our lives?
Scripture: Luke 5, "Life can beat the passion right out of you." How do we keep life from getting too crowded...even too crowded for Christ?
Scripture: Psalm 90:12, What does it mean to "live in the dash instead of dashing to live?" What did Jesus do when he knew He had 30 days until the cross?
