This is the final episode of the show! After 128 episodes, I have decided to practice that I preach, and make the tough call on priorities and pressures in my life, which means this show will be setting with the sun today. Whether that's forever or for now is not relevant because "forever" is not happening today. With all the demands on my time, I have been facing my own burnout – something I've had as a central theme in many episodes in this show. To protect and love myself, I've taken an inventory of all the things that I am committed to, where they are in the grand scheme of building toward my goals, whether they've served their purpose, and how I might be able to move forward without them. Though it was a hard decision I've grappled with for several months, ending the show here made a lot of sense. Do a Day is not going anywhere, however, with all the resources at your fingertips, as ever. You can still get the book in paperback, Kindle, Audible, Apple Books, Google Play Books, Nook and more. You can still do the Do a Day Masterclass, or sign up for 1-on-1 coaching with me. And the entire back catalog of episodes of the show will still be available for you to go back, listen to, and grow from. With all the stories and inspiration in the 127 episodes that I've released before this final one, I know there is at least one spark that every person in the world could use to start the flame that lets you Go Out and Do It! Respect for all my past guests: Season 1 I kicked the show off sharing the story of Do a Day. Charlie Gilkey shares about how being smart makes you strong. Evan Ruggiero reminds us through his cancer batter that rising up even when half of your world vanishes is possible. Amy Schuber taught us that you are the inspiration you seek. One of my favorite artists, MC YOGI, talked about how all things grow in darkness Anne Sugar shared her battle with cancer as a way to see how you can trust your body even when it betrays you. Chris Wirth hit on his message of never quitting on living the life you deserve. David Ralph reminded us about the power in our lives if we connect the dots. Unbreakable Success Podcast, Episode 57 Aaron Keith Hawkins | How to Feel More Appreciated. Click to Subscribe on >> iTunes, Stitcher Radio or Tunein. Full Transcript: Aaron: 00:00 Hey, it's Aaron Keith Hawkins and welcome back to another episode of Unbreakable Success. Thank you for being here today. We're going to cut to the chase. I want to answer a a very what I know for many people can be a very powerful question, very serious question, which is how can we actually feel more appreciated. We're all, obviously we're all worthy of being appreciated. We're all working hard. We're all taking care of our kids. We're all trying to be loving in our relationships. There's so many things that we're doing. Working on our mindset. If you're listening or watching this show, you are trying to do the right things. You're making progress. But what do we do when we just don't feel appreciated enough from the people in our lives, the people that we interact with, a work group, sometimes the people we live with? The truth is this. Aaron: 00:49 You know, I, I know the, that for many people in my experience, coaching and mentoring and working with a lot of people over the years. I get and I understand that the initial instinct is to try to figure out how can we make someone appreciate us more and the very harsh like rip the bandaid off answer is you can't. We can't make someone appreciate us. I can't make you appreciate me and you can't make me appreciate you, but the good news is that there are things and we're going to talk about three specific things today. There are things that we can do that are far more likely to influence others to appreciate us and for far more likely for us to just feel more appreciated. Number one is you have to protect your schedule and I said, protect your schedule, not fill it because what normally happens for people if they do pay attention to their calendar and the things they have to do, most of the time we wind up filling up that schedule, filling up our calendar, which is things to do. Aaron: 01:58 Some of those things are extremely important. Some of those things, not so much, but when I say protect your schedule, here's what I mean, and this is very simple. What are the five most? One of the five things in your life that you value the most, if you were to write them down, what are the top five things that are that are most important, most valuable to you, and everybody's going to have slightly different answers for someone immediately be their children or their spouse or their partner or their career, their business, their fitness, their health, their personal growth, spiritual growth. Whatever those answers are for you. Write them down and once you have that list and if you're a, it's okay if you don't have a pen or pad right now, just just think of them and then ask yourself honestly, are each of those things scheduled into your calendar every week? Are they in your calendar or they booked whenever your answers were? Did you block out unconditional time to engage in those things that are most valuable to you? Aaron: 03:12 And most of the time when I asked this of people one on one, they'll have that list and they'll say, well, you know, I do spend time, you know, addressing this thing or that thing or with my kids and I have some time here there. But the question is, do you have blocked out unconditional, nonnegotiable time for those things? And if the answer is no, then that's something that you can fix. But here's because here's what I can promise you. When someone is not intentionally making time, scheduling time for the things that are most valuable to them. If someone doesn't appreciate themselves enough to actually make sure that they are unconditionally engaging in things that are most important to them, then how can I expect someone else to appreciate them if I don't make time for the things? If I want to appreciate myself enough to make sure that I'm taking care of the things that...

The ability to influence others is at the root of your success and satisfaction in work and relationships. You don’t have to be born an “influential person.” Influence is a skill that can be learned! http://traffic.libsyn.com/manalive/influence-Hawkins.mp3 Show notes What does it take to be an influencer — to be a man people listen to, trust […] The post Million Dollar Influence – Aaron Keith Hawkins appeared first on Shana James Coaching.
Curiosity. We need it. Without it, we get fixated on the frustrating symptoms of our problems, and miss out of the opportunities to discover and address the causes. Remember that every action has an underlying, cause, motivation, or need(s) that the actor is trying to meet. Today's episode gives a simple example of how a lack of curiosity can easily lead to false assumptions. Be brave enough to leverage curiosity to improve your relationships, influence, and life. Please listen, subscribe, and share with a friend. With love & respect - Aaron

What does unbreakable success look like? Just ask Aaron Keith Hawkins. Aaron has been serving in law enforcement since 1995 and is currently a Captain in New Jersey. Although most of us would consider his accomplishments to be more than enough, Aaron had a life altering experience that made him desire more. In 2009, he collapsed to the floor in front of his wife, clutching his chest, experiencing what he believed to be a heart attack. In that moment as Aaron thought the curtain was about to close he was faced with massive regret and realized he’d be ignoring countless opportunities. After surviving what was later diagnosed as a mini stroke, Aaron decided he wasn’t going to coast any longer. Since that day, he has spent years evolving his understanding of what makes good people settle for less than the high levels of performance that they’re capable of. Aaron Keith Hawkins is an author, speaker, trainer and the host of the Unbreakable Success Podcast. He has over 22 years of leadership experience as a public servant. He is currently a Police Captain, serving his New Jersey community as a Law Enforcement Executive. 30,000 people in his town look for him to make the right decisions, and that requires confidence, wisdom, and authentic influence – which is the core topic of today's conversation. Aaron earned a Graduate Degree in Leadership from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in professional coaching and he is an alumni of the invitation-only FBI National Academy. Life was good for Aaron and his family, however after a brush with mortality in 2009, Aaron decided he was capable of more and has since dedicated his life to constant growth as a husband, father, and helping others live their best life. Listen in as we explore authentic influence, how successful people equip themselves to deal with challenges, Aaron's 4 PURE laws of leadership and influence, how to break through the ceiling of average, and the difference between good and best. Don't wait for a life-threatening wake-up call to reflect on the changes you want to make in your life. Start today! Through his story and insight, Aaron shows you how. Key Takeaways People who are successful have learned to prepare for the challenges ahead of time. They proactively learn how to deal with emotions and fear. “People's biggest problem isn't that they have problems, it's that they think they're not supposed to have any.” (Tony Robbins) Aaron's 4 PURE Laws: P – Pivotal Choices, U – Unconditionally High Standards, R – Reflective Comparison, E – Elevating Your Situational Methodology. When you ask yourself a question, your brain has to respond with an answer. A great question to yourself, “What would a flawless version of me do right now?” There are not enough people creating from what they are learning. They are simply repeating old habits, hoping, or believing. Unbreakable success requires creation. It's not how many books you read that's important, it's what you read and apply to your life that matters. When you're in the bottle, you can't read the label. Influence at the core is affecting the character or behavior of something or someone. Whatever you do, do it with authenticity – in a way that expresses YOU, not a copy of somebody else. Success http://learntruehealth.com/p-u-r-e-success/ P.U.R.E. Success initially sounds unattainable. And I know we all want to have P.U.R.E. Success in everything we do. That’s why I decided to have Aaron Keith Hawkins back on the show to dive into how P.U.R.E. Success can be achieved. Personal Realization Aaron Keith Hawkins helps people become excellent in their personal and professional life. He helps them see their blind spots, eliminate barriers and alibis. Ultimately, he maintains his clients transform their lives with intention and purpose. And in doing so, it helps him to be more aware of himself. “I realized when life is good, a lot of times people tend to settle in. And people feel something is missing. A connection is the most important thing to allow us to succeed,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. “If we’re not actively willing to connect, express ourselves and allow people to express themselves, things can get tough.” Life Purpose When we’re in a good mood but we don’t have any form of evolution, Aaron Keith Hawkins says that’s when things get stale. Naturally, as our life progresses, we should be interested in other things and try new things. One of the needs we have as human beings is the need for novelty. “We need things and experiences that are new. If we don’t engage with it somehow, that’s one of the most common mistakes,” Aaron Keith Hawkins said. He adds, “I know for most people; if nothing comes along and shakes them up, or someone doesn’t come along and shake them up, they can spend their entire life just feeling “good.” We can do better and feel amazing.” Facing Fears Fear is something a lot of people struggle with. But I think it’s all about recommitting to your goal or being flexible in achieving that goal rather than giving up so we can attain P.U.R.E. Success. “The truth is, having some quality fears are necessary. Example, if there are so many drastic changes in diet and you’re feeling depleted, that’s a good time to evaluate. It’s just about awareness,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. He adds, “The point is, we own fear and the fear we have is a tool. It is our tool to be able to reflect on whatever it is. Most of the time, most of our fears are not dangerous.” Aaron Keith Hawkins further explains that the fear of it not working is usually the fear of it not working fast enough. Another scenario would be fear of the fact that it’s working but isn’t noticeable enough yet. It’s usually about judgment and how do we feel about ourselves. Love Yourself Sometimes we’re so lost in taking care of others that we end up neglecting ourselves. But when we learn not to feel guilty about doing the things we want to do, that’s when we can make some significant progress in realizing P.U.R.E. Success. “The truth is, you love yourself. That’s why you want it in the first place. It’s so easy to forget our values. And one of the best ways to have more patience is exercise curiosity,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Aaron Keith Hawkins adds that it’s really about who can we inspire by creating a plan that will make this last long term. Aaron Keith Hawkins usually convinces his clients to serve someone else with regards to what they are trying to do for themselves. Because he says, people tend to do more for somebody else than they’ll ever do for themselves. Making Decisions Before making any step, we first have to consider our identity. It’s a pathway to shift our belief system from a negative to a positive. This way, our habitual behavior also turns into the ones that help us get the result we want. “Choose what we need to learn. Find what we need to learn and what we need to do differently. You don’t have to fake anything to make it,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Aaron Keith Hawkins also explains that there’s no better time in history than to be whoever you want to be than now. Because we have almost literally unlimited information about the things, we want to do. There’s information that can help you do it. “We can put it to use. It’s not copying what someone else is doing. But rather looking at how can you can implement it, in what way you can use it, and for what you want to accomplish. It’s part journey and part process. And another part is remembering those values like patience,” Aaron Keith Hawkins said. Gaining Curiosity How do we have curiosity? Aaron Keith Hawkins advises being innocently curious. Think about what how a decision, or thing affect what’s going to happen next. And whatever identity you choose, you will eventually find evidence to support it. You see that it’s part of human nature. That is a critical piece of truth for all of us to remember. Four Laws Of P.U.R.E. Success The word “pure” in P.U.R.E. Success is an acronym: P – Pivotal choice U – Unconditional high standards R – Reflective comparison E – Elevating our situational response. Pivotal Choice First of all, the pivotal choice from P.U.R.E. Success means being 100% responsible for everything that happens in our life. Aaron Keith Hawkins calls it a pivotal choice because people who choose to not adopt this as a mindset there will have their life turn out one way. And people who do decide to act as if they’re 100% responsible for everything going on in their life, their life turns out in a completely different way. Ultimately, Aaron Keith Hawkins says it’s not about blaming yourself. It’s about accepting that you are entirely responsible for what’s going to happen next. That’s where responsibility comes in. This includes emotional reaction, plan of action, thoughts, and interpretation of the event. Unconditional High Standards Aaron Keith Hawkins mentions Tom Robbins, a speaker he looks up to, who said that to change the quality of our life, have to improve our standards. We have to change the standard of who we are and what we’re going to tolerate. “It’s relatively easy to keep those high standards once we decide on something. And it’s easy to live up to them when everything is going right. The problem is, for a lot of people, a lot of those standards are conditional,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Furthermore, Aaron Keith Hawkins says that when we have a reason not to maintain our standards, or when we have an excuse to drop the standards that we set for ourselves, that’s when it matters the most. The standard you set doesn’t matter. What matters is the standard you keep when you have an excuse not to. Those are the life-altering moments. Reflective Comparison Aaron Keith Hawkins says this is simply the idea of looking in the mirror and asking ourselves what we’d do if we had no ego, flaws, baggage or alternative agenda. It’s about asking yourself what will happen if you couldn’t get something wrong. Ultimately, if we have to hear a question, we have to have an answer. And every time we ask ourselves a question, we would indeed come up with a solution. Elevating Your Situational Methodology Aaron Keith Hawkins says that for this last step, it’s about stepping up your habits. Most people do what’s familiar to them. They hope, they believe or create. Only a few people choose to create an outcome in any situation. “We don’t have to rely solely on hope. Because we can hope while we’re believing and we can hope while we’re creating something,” advises Aaron Keith Hawkins. He adds, “Always look for a way to create in any situation whether it be an outcome, a situation, a story or a question. When we’re willing to do that in conjunction with these other rules, it’s life-changing.” Unbreakable Success Podcast Aaron Keith Hawkins has a great podcast called Unbreakable Success. He interviews successful people from all walks of life, and it’s a great resource to learn golden nuggets of wisdom. Aaron's site: aaronkeithhawkins.com Unbreakable Success http://learntruehealth.com/unbreakable-success/ Ever thought of why some people seem to have unbreakable success? Unbreakable success is something very doable, but the problem is, most people do not know how or where to start. To get you on your way to achieving unbreakable success, my guest, Aaron Keith Hawkins is the perfect person to show you how. Unbreakable Success Podcast Aaron Keith Hawkins started podcasting in 2015. But the show initially went by the name Best Life Of Your Life. Aaron Keith Hawkins couldn’t really pinpoint why he named his show like that. All he knew was that he wanted to help people live a better life. Shortly after, Aaron Keith Hawkins took a hiatus from podcasting for a few months. He used the break to talk to people about business and branding. That was when he thought of renaming his podcast Unbreakable Success. “Most people start out with good intentions. But inevitably when people are struggling, something comes along to break those intentions,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. “I prepare people so that when problems come, they are prepared for it.” He adds, “And those problems won’t break them down. Because they have already mentally and physically prepared themselves to think that life is going to hit you in the face from time to time.” What Motivation Means Aaron Keith Hawkins took up a course in leadership and professional coaching. But he refuses to label himself as a motivational speaker. “Motivation is a real thing. But I don’t think motivation wins in the long run. Motivation works when you’re feeling motivated. And that’s pretty much the only time it works,” Aaron Keith Hawkins said. “What gets us through those moments when you’re not feeling motivated is your sense of identity.” Blissful Life Aaron Keith Hawkins grew up in New Jersey and was pretty much an average kid. He started his career in his early 20s by becoming a police officer. It was not long before he got married and had a baby. “My biggest problem in hindsight was that everything was good. And when things are good, there was no need for me to change anything or question anything,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Rude Awakening Life was good. But one day in December 2009, Aaron Keith Hawkins woke up past midnight with massive chest pain. At that time, Aaron Keith Hawkins was already working as a medical technician for 13 years. Aaron Keith Hawkins recalls a sharp pain radiating down his arm. He ended up self- diagnosing himself. He got up and tried to walk it off. But it didn’t work. Realizing that he might be having a heart attack, Aaron Keith Hawkins decided to wake up his wife. His wife called 911 just as Aaron Keith Hawkins slumped and collapsed on the floor. “What was odd is that I wasn’t scared. I got hit with regret. In a flash, I thought of every single opportunity where I could to do so much more and create something more with my life,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. He adds, “I realized I had been settling by not intentionally trying to be a better husband or father. All I was doing was the fact that I just did what naturally came to me. Suddenly I realized I left so many opportunities on the table.” Turning Point Following Aaron Keith Hawkins’ collapse at home, he stayed in the hospital for a couple of days. Doctors think he had a mini-stroke rather than a heart attack. They sent Aaron Keith Hawkins home after a month when he got a clean bill of health. “I think it was a miracle that I had that experience. To be suspected of having a mini-stroke weirded me out because I was a healthy guy. I work out all the time, and I ate well. It was both the worst and best day of my life,” declares Aaron Keith Hawkins. That day when Aaron Keith Hawkins got released from the hospital, he and his family went to the mall. Aaron Keith Hawkins recalls that he got teary-eyed. Overcome with gratefulness that he was alive, he decided not to waste any more time and opportunity. “I knew that something changed. That started this whole journey after that. As long as we’re alive, we ask one of two things. It’s either we can ask why these things happen to us or we can create the why,” Aaron Keith Hawkins said. Dealing With Our Egos Aaron Keith Hawkins says there can be a lot of hurt egos when things happen to us. It’s either due to a break-up, or the weight doesn’t seem to come off. Ultimately, our ego can get involved in demanding an answer. Aaron Keith Hawkins says the real question is asking ourselves why things happen to us. It can wind up feeling like a label. We should learn to be responsible for our thoughts and actions. When things go wrong, it’s not the end of the world. Instead of being trapped in our past, it’s really about what we learn from our experiences and stop comparing ourselves to others. “There are plenty of times that things happen, and it has to get your attention. And some things need to be done. The second half is that your emotions are going to come from what you pay attention to and the story that you attach to it,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Most of Aaron Keith Hawkins’ clients are entrepreneurs or people with the entrepreneurial spirit. But when he coaches, it’s whole life coaching. And Aaron Keith Hawkins shares that more often than not, his clients reach out to him because of specific reasons. “I’m very much about the why. Because I very much enjoy learning about who the person is. I attract entrepreneurs because they have this sense of mission behind them,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. “Personally, I thrive on it, and I love coaching people through it because I wasn’t doing it before.” Learning Curve Over the years, Aaron Keith Hawkins learned a ton of lessons. He ended up looking for a pattern that was consistently creating success not just for himself but also for people he interacted with. Aaron Keith Hawkins first wanted to condense it to something small and simple so that he can use it regularly. Secondly, he tried to turn it into something that can help others achieve unbreakable success. How To Achieve Unbreakable Success Just by making a simple framework, Aaron Keith Hawkins developed what he calls the Four Principles of Pure Success. The word “pure” is an acronym: P – Pivotal choice U – Unconditional high standards R – Reflective comparison E – Elevating our situational response. So, from this formula, learn to take 100% responsibility for your response to every single circumstance in your life. Learn to take complete ownership. “One of the first things I learned in this world of personal and professional growth was from a speaker who said that if you want to change your life, you have to change your standards first,” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. Aaron Keith Hawkins noticed that people could embrace that belief. But more often than not, we have a lot of these high standards until things hit the fan. And when it hits the fan, the standards go out the window. To learn more about the four principles of success in detail for free, check out the link available on Aaron Keith Hawkins’ website. Aaron Keith Hawkins says you will learn a lot about how to improve your success and empower you in many areas of your life. “If we don’t have unconditionally high standards, by default it means that our standards are conditional. Which means, “I’m only going to perform this well ‘if,'” said Aaron Keith Hawkins. “And that ‘if’ is a problem. That’s where lives fall apart.” Bio Aaron Keith Hawkins ‘s mission is to help you recognize that you are capable of succeeding in literally every aspect of your life once you realize success is a lifestyle to live, not a trophy to chase.
