Irish actor Caitríona Balfe was nominated for a Bafta for her performance in Kenneth Branagh's film Belfast and is also known to many as Claire in time travel drama series Outlander. Caitríona joins Nuala McGovern in the studio to discuss her latest role in new film The Amateur, playing a Russian spy alongside Rami Malek. There has been a "significant increase" in the number of female swimmers having indecent images taken of them in changing rooms whilst competing in the elite level of the sport, according to a leaked report. The Times newspaper has seen a report by the sport's governing body Swim England which states that pictures have been taken using camera phones over or under cubicles. Nuala is joined by BBC Sport correspondent Laura Scott and Mhairi Maclennan, CEO of Kyniska Advocacy, which supports women and victims of abuse in sport. The latest figures on child maintenance show there is currently £690m unpaid, leaving thousands of children without the financial support they are entitled to. Critics argue that the Child Maintenance Service (CMS) is failing to use its legal powers, while the Government says enforcement measures are improving. As an inquiry by the cross-party House of Lords Public Services committee calls for evidence, we look at how unpaid child maintenance can be used as a form of economic abuse. Nuala hears from Sam Smethers, Chair of the charity Surviving Economic Abuse, and a survivor whose ex-partner used the system to control her.A new exhibition called Curious Cures at Cambridge University Library explores medicine in the medieval era. Dozens of unique medical manuscripts, recipes, cures and guides to healthy living from the 14th and 15th centuries are on display. To discuss women's role in medieval medicine, Nuala is joined by the exhibition's curator and medieval manuscripts specialist, Dr James Freeman.Grammy award-winning singer Chappell Roan has been causing a stir with some comments she made about motherhood on the podcast Call Her Daddy. The 27-year-old singer said her friends her age who have kids "are in hell", adding "I actually don't know anyone who's happy and has children at this age." So is motherhood worth it - or is Chappell Roan right? Anna Whitehouse, also known as Mother Pukka, is a campaigner and mum of five. She joins us to discuss. If you are a working parent and haven't heard of Anna Whitehouse (aka Mother Pukka) you must have been living under a rock. Anna is an author, editor, podcast host and founder of Flex Appeal campaign fighting for flexible working for all. I knew I had to talk to Anna on the show, as lack of flexible working is one of the top reasons women leave the workforce and do not rise through the ranks (something I care about very very much). To be clear her campaign is for everyone, not just women. We talk about how having kids is not a choice, miscarrying at your desk, closing the gender pay gap, the archaic dinosaurs that won't see the light of day about flexible working, and what you can do to help. Anna is so passionate, she had me in tears at the end, as she talked about her own mother. It triggered me, as how my mother was treated had a massive impact on my approach to work especially about being financially independent. I hope this podcast gives you hope that there are people in your corner fighting to make a change, and that you can make a change too. ------------------------------- WE DISCUSS ------------------------------- 02:06 - How did the idea for FlexAppeal come about? 09:36 - Why do companies insist on not offering flexibility? 15:08 - What made the biggest impact on your campaign? 18:44 - Who are the progressive companies doing this well? 26:54 - What can retailers learn from NHS job sharing? 32:28 - Flexibility is not perfect - it's a relationship 37:32 - What's the biggest barrier to women getting ahead in the workplace? 49:50 - Generational trauma 01:00:41 - What can we do to support Flex Appeal? ----------------------------------------- ANNA WHITEHOUSE ----------------------------------------- LinkedIn:https://www.linkedin.com/in/anna-whitehouse-586623a4/ Website: https://www.motherpukka.co.uk/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mother_pukka/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mother_pukka ------------------------------- FOLLOW ME ON ------------------------------- LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mariahvo/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@anatomyofaleader Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/mariahvo/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/mhvorostovsky HVO Search: https://www.hvosearch.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Need help HIRING - head over to - http://www.hirewithmaria.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- LEAVE A REVIEW: If you're listening on Apple Podcasts make sure to Follow, Rate, and leave a REVIEW.

Campaigner, broadcaster and influencer Anna Whitehouse, aka MotherPukka, joins Andrea Thompson, the editor in chief of Marie Claire UK, on this first episode of Avon's Power in Ageing Podcast Series. Anna, now 41, speaks candidly about how changing careers led her to where she is now. After training as a barrister, she realised there weren't any women of child-bearing years at the top of the legal system. She left to forge a media career but found herself challenging a similarly out-dated corporate working model that favoured presenteeism and penalised parents. She talks about how she became an accidental campaigner for flexible working for all, and why the key to gender equality is having male allies behind us.
