If you had to sum up the ministry of Jesus, it would include three features: teaching, exorcising demons and healing! As followers of Jesus and recipients of his Spirit, the church should also be known for healing. But how does it work, and what role does the Spirit's voice have to play? In this episode of the God Conversations podcast, we talk with Kirk Delaney, Pastor of Pine Rivers Vineyard Church in Brisbane Queensland, Director of the Australian Vineyard Churches and a follower of Jesus who is experienced in hearing God's voice for healing. You'll hear about: Kirk's initial attraction to the Vineyard movement that came about because they were not just concerned with moral and spiritual transformation, but in partnering with the Holy Spirit to do the empowering works of Jesus, including healing the sick and casting out demons. "My question was, why are signs and wonders happening in the Majority world but not in the West?" The first major healing Kirk witnessed when the Holy Spirit fell on a woman with a pronounced curvature of the spine and a large protrusion on one of her shoulders. Over 45 mins of prayer, Kirk watched as her leg grew, her spine straightened and the bump on her shoulder disappeared like a deflating balloon. Kirk's response was, “God, I don't know you, do I?!” The connection between compassion and the the healing ministry of Jesus. Holy Spirit speaks to move us with love for hurting people in the manner of Jesus. The mandate on every person to continue Jesus' ministry of healing. Everyone has authorisation to engage - not just the "super healers" on stage! “Everyone gets to do the work of Jesus!” The first time Kirk stepped out in hearing God's voice and healing, involving an unusual story of a woman who had recently lost her husband and was suffering from an arthritic pinkie finger. Kirk explains how we hear God through all the senses - feeling, seeing, hearing - as God draws our attention to something in another person. “God I know you want to talk to me about healing for someone, but my right pinkie finger is really throbbing!” Advice for starting out: start simply - ask God, “is there anyone here on your heart that you would like to touch with your love today?” Kirk's thoughts on why healing doesn't always happen. Hi, I'm Beverley Joy of Simply Story Poetry. I wrote this poem just before we left Brisbane Queensland in the motorhome to travel across to Western Australia. We moved from a large home to a motorhome. Grace and Darren set off on their journey around Australia in their motorhome. It had been a challenge deciding what to take and what to leave behind. Grace felt a mixture of excitement and anxiety. She could only take a few changes of clothes and only the essentials for every other part of her life. She had accepted the challenge to live a minimalist life and live without all their material possessions, just like the monks had to do. Darren had built them a comfortable motorhome. Beverley Joy. Hi, I'm Beverley Joy of Simply Story Poetry. It is summertime here in Australia, hot and humid in my hometime of Brisbane Queensland. I have been off the air for a month as I spent the week before Christmas Day packing up and moving to a new address, then I made a snap decision to travel north to Yeppoon in Central Queensland for two weeks of casual work and to catch up with close family members for whom I wrote the poem Far Away For Christmas. Today I am back sitting at my new computer desk ready for an exciting year of sharing my poetic writing. I hope you enjoyed listening to my poems throughout 2021 as much as I have enjoyed publishing them. Most of the poems I published in 2021, were poems that I had written over the past 10 years. I have published most of my Christian poems and all of my old general poems except for two collections, which I have been holding back for two special reasons! The reason I have held back the first collection of poems is that my mother's life story will be re-released soon, in 2022, in print and ebook. I will be sharing poems that I wrote about my mother's troubled life around work, health and love, and my difficult childhood as I share the story behind each poem and songs that I have found that reflect the theme of each poem. The novel is titled 'The Wilted Rose' written by Kate Kelsen, a young Australian author who is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. Kate has written several true story novels, over the past decade and they will be re-released during 2022. I am very excited to announce that the second collection of poems I will be sharing with you, during 2022, are the many poems I wrote about falling in and out of love and getting back up again. These poems will accompany my own adult life story around motherhood, marriage, divorce, travel etc. It is titled "Wilted No More,' written by Kate Kelsen, and is in the final editing and cover design stage and will be available later in 2022. But first, to kick start 2022, I want to encourage those of you who are thinking about creating your 'something' - be it writing, poetry, painting or craftwork etc. to take that first step now, today. If you have already started creating your 'something' but are questioning whether you will continue with it this year, I want to encourage you to keep going. START TODAY. The first thing I do is write out a plan for the year or for a new project, which I will share in more detail at another time. But, for you today, I want you to do something. Take a few minutes to sit still and write down what you would like to create. Write as much detail as you can about the 'something' you want to create e.g. "I've always wanted to write and publish a book, a song, or a poem." "I've always wanted to make/create______" "I've always wanted to paint, draw, photograph." Don't wait any longer. I procrastinated for decades because of fear and self-doubt. I did not realize when I started this creative venture in April 2021, that it would be so creatively satisfying in so many different ways. Michael (also known as V-Dogg) is a Brisbane (Queensland) local coach who started coaching at West Brisbane Falcons when he was 16. He has coached all age groups from under 10s to under 23s over 28 years of coaching within the Club, Association, State league and NBL levels. He was an apprentice Coach/Manager with the Brisbane Bullets NBL mens team in 1996-1997 under Head Coach David Ingham. In 2020, Michael will be in his 9th season as a QBL head coach, having also been head coach at the Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast, as well as coaching many successful Brisbane Basketball junior and senior representative teams. Michael was an Assistant Coach for the 2019 Brisbane Capitals men's team which won the QBL state Championship, under Head Coach (and former Australian Boomer and Brisbane Bullets Assistant Coach) Sam McKinnon.In this interview, Michael talks about his role as Head Coach for the Brisbane Capitals 2020 NBL North women's team, recruiting activities, and his thoughts on team building and utilising youth players in his roster.

This episode we have an interview with Jon, one of the developers at Backstabbr. Plus we talk recent news, around the grounds and our latest face-to-face Diplomacy game. Intro The guys introduce the show, their drinks and plans for their face to face game that day (0 mins 15 secs) They discuss what to do if you get 8 players, with Kaner bringing along maps for the USA variant (classic Europe but with the USA and wrap around world) and Celtic Britain. Amby talks about the WDC 2021 website in Bangkok, Thailand is now live! This is a replacement to the less active Diplomacy Association of Australia and New Zealand (DAANZ) but with Asia now included. Its planned to be similar to the North American and European equivalents. There's plans for a Grand Prix of events across the Asia Pacific (12 mins 45 secs) He then discusses how as part of the Grand Prix its planned to have a Brisbane/Queensland tournament (14 mins 30 secs) Gary (Phlegmatic at PlayDip) got in touch about the upcoming MaccCon3 in the UK on the 14-15 March 2020. Its going from invitation only event to an open event. Gary also said MidCon was coming back in November 2020 and would act as the UK Championship for that year. They discuss Ty's big beaming smile towards the end of the game when he was in the lead, until 3 players threw SCs to Laloma to spite Ty and ensure he didn't come first  (1 hr 16 mins 15 secs) Laloma talks about her plans to take Tristan (Turkey) off the board. Kaner asks Amby about a Russian northern game and his plans there, before quickly changing to a southern game. Amby talks about being stabbed (1 hr 18 mins 30 secs) Laloma's lift turns up and she has to go. Kaner and Amby continue the show.
