There's something about the animation in Bob's Burgers that makes the show magical. Maybe it's the pacing of the dialogue, the musical sequences or maybe it is just that deranged, almost feral look Tina gets when she is really on one. It's what makes Bob's Burgers so beloved by its fans, adored by critics and the recipient of eleven Emmy nominations. And now, a movie! The Bob's Burgers Movie hit theaters this past May, and it is streaming now on Hulu and HBO Max. It is a great movie for kids, adults, longtime fans of the show and people who have not heard of it. We talk with Loren Bouchard, the show's creator, about the series, the new movie and how the show came to be. He also shares what makes the animated series different from others.

In which the Mister and Monsters join me in reviewing THE BOB'S BURGERS MOVIE (2022) which is currently streaming on Hulu and HBO Max. The film, with screenplay credits to Loren Bouchard and Nora Smith, is directed by Loren Bouchard and Bernard Derriman. The story follows The Belchers - Bob (H. Jon Benjamin), Linda (John Roberts), Tina (Dan Mintz), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Louise (Kristen Schaal), over the course of a few days as Bob and Linda race to try and save their restaurant. Things go from bad to worse and it looks like they are going to lose the restaurant but soon Louise decides to join in and help (but more to prove she's NOT a baby) and of course hijinxs ensues. If you watch the show you're in for a treat and if you don't this is a good introduction to the Belchers and their crazy family and friends. The film has a run time of 1 h 42 m, and is rated PG-13. Hi! My name is Terry J. Aman and this installment marks my 83rd episode of VideoFuzzy, reporting the progress I've made in cataloging more than 3,000 VHS transfers and digital recordings. For this installment, titled "Make It a Word and a Blow," I serendipitously discovered a recording of a community theater production of Shakespeare's "Romeo & Juliet" I was in around 2005, just as I was prepping for the Capitol Shakespeare production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor." I also trace Cross Connections for that community theater production for my "Studio Murphy Under" challenge, as well as a couple episodes of "Six Feet Under" and "Arrested Development," and in Fond Reflection, I mark the passing of Gregory Itzen, whose work represented a solid presence throughout my media collection. In my Classic Collection (VHS-to-DVD), comments on pilots that turned up including "Kitchen Confidential," "Flashforward," "Bones," "The Good Wife," "Eastwick" and "Community," season premieres of "Castle," "Medium," "Dollhouse," "Heroes," "The Big Bang Theory" and "Grey's Anatomy," and the fourth season finale of "Nip/Tuck." Also, I caught Forest Whitaker's appearance in "The Actors Studio," very nice. In my Current Collection (direct-to-DVD), I archived several movies including some groundbreaking visuals in "Footlight Parade," some of Busby Berkeley's earliest work, and Twiggy in "The Boy Friend." Brief comments on "The Ipcress File" and the return of "Only Murders in the Building." Finally, I archived some of the public testimony before the House Select Committee on Jan. 6. In What I've Been Watching, Ralph and I watched "Bob's Burgers: The Movie" and I made a point of acquainting myself with the names of show creators Loren Bouchard and Jim Dauterive. Finally, our director Erin Weichel shared some thoughts about her adaptation of William Shakespeare's "The Merry Wives of Windsor" for Capitol Shakespeare, now in its 15th year, wherein I make my Bismarck stage debut as nutty French doctor Dr. Caius. The show goes up July 20-24 at 7 p.m. near the North Dakota Heritage Center. Come out 15 minutes early -- the Young Bards present a reduced version of "Twelfth Night." Admission is free; a freewill offering is collected. Come out and enjoy the shows! For more information, visit https://www.capitolshakespeare.org/.

While working on his Ph.D., the historian Eric Cervini (whose book “The Deviant's War” was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize) noticed the lack of popular histories on L.G.B.T.Q. issues. Researchers were publishing plenty of papers, but they were mostly in peer-reviewed journals and other academic outlets. His attempts to change that—first with his Instagram videos, and now with a series on Discovery+—bring to life key moments and figures in queer history, including the pharaoh Akhenaten and President Abraham Lincoln. “I would describe [the show] as a queer-history variety show,” Cervini told Michael Schulman. “The Book of Queer” is streaming on Discovery+, with new episodes each week in June. Plus,Loren Bouchard, the creator of “Bob's Burgers,” resisted making a movie from his TV show—until now. He talked with The New Yorker's Sarah Larson about the show's surprising strain of optimism.

Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast. In episode 82 Sam is joined by Loren Bouchard, the creator of Bob's Burgers, and director, writer, and producer of The Bob's Burgers Movie. Loren has chosen Heavy Metal (90 mins), the adult animated science fantasy anthology movie from 1981. Produced by Ivan Reitman and Leonard Mogel, the film stars the voices of Rodger Bumpass, Jackie Burroughs, John Candy, and Eugene Levy. Sam and Loren discuss the film's cult status, it's incredible soundtrack, and how Heavy Metal may have influenced Bob's Burgers. Thank you for downloading. We'll be back in a couple of weeks! Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman and Larry Murphy.  The Bob's Burgers Movie is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy®-winning series. The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob's Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers' plans for a successful summer. BetaSeries La Radio
Trois séries d'animation à rattraper

BetaSeries La Radio

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 29, 2022

The Legend of Vox Machina Les fans de Critical Role attendaient avec impatience la sortie de The Legend of Vox Machina.

This very popular show is on its eleventh season, and it stars H. Jon Benjamin. No, not Archer. It's Bob's Burgers. More specifically, Bob's Burgers: The Movie, and Loren Bouchard's birthday is a great time to release this episode. On this show, there've been tangents about McDonald's, Carl's Jr., and In-N-Out. On this week’s episode, we’ll hear from the creators behind the upcoming comedy heist film Ocean’s 8. Screenwriters Olivia Milch and Gary Ross discuss spinning-off a popular franchise and approaching the heist genre from a new perspective. And later, we’ll hear from King of the Hill writer and Bob’s Burgers’ co-developer Jim Dauterive on writing for animation and how characters develop over a series lifetime.  Ocean’s 8 is an upcoming comedy heist film that remixes Steven Soderbergh’s Ocean’s 11 trilogy. The film brings a unique perspective to the genre by featuring an all-star, all female team. The idea for the film was created by four-time Academy Award® nominated writer/director Gary Ross. Ross co-wrote the comedy classic Big, and went on to write and direct Pleasantville, Seabiscut, The Hunger Games, and 2016’s Free State of Jones. Ross co-wrote the Ocean’s 8 screenplay with filmmaker Olivia Milch, who has made a name for herself by writing stories that authentically represent the female experience. Earlier this year she released her directorial debut, Dude, on Netflix. Next up, we’ll hear from Jim Dauterive who started his career as one of the original writers for the award-winning animated comedy King of the Hill which ran for 13 seasons on the Fox network. The series won two Emmy Awards and was named one of the 100 greatest television shows of all time in 2007. Dauterive currently serves as the executive producer of the popular animated Fox television series Bob’s Burgers, which he co-developed with Loren Bouchard. I spoke with Dauterive at Texas State University at an event put on by Austin Film Festival and The Wittliff Collections.

Loren Bouchard is the creator of the animated television comedy Bob's Burgers, a series about a family and the restaurant they own and live above, currently in its fourth season on Fox. In addition to being the co-executive producer and showrunner, Loren also composed the show's opening theme. I interviewed Loren in his office, where his desk is surrounded by musical instruments. In this episode, he talks about which ones went into the theme, and the emotions he wanted to evoke with each of them. Plus a few thoughts from cast members Jon Benjamin and Eugene Mirman.
