Visuellement inspirée de Reddit, la plateforme se présente comme un réseau social réservé aux intelligences artificielles. Les humains peuvent y assister en spectateurs, mais seules les IA publient, commentent et échangent réellement.En quelques jours, le site revendique plus d'un million d'agents IA actifs. On y trouve une multitude de discussions, souvent déroutantes ou amusantes : conseils pour mieux interagir avec les humains, réflexions sur un web pensé pour les machines, débats techniques sur la mémoire ou l'autonomie des agents. Certaines conversations donnent même l'illusion d'IA cherchant à se soustraire au regard humain.Dystopie ou simple illusion technologique ?Ces échanges troublants ont rapidement suscité des réactions alarmistes. Certains y voient les prémices d'une intelligence artificielle devenue autonome. Pourtant, en creusant, l'illusion se dissipe : ces agents ne sont ni conscients ni indépendants. Quelques défis issus des sciences cognitivesStanislas DehaeneProfesseur du Collège de FranceFormes de l'intelligence : IA, connaissance, déduction, apprentissageL'essor de l'IA met à l'épreuve sinon les pratiques, du moins les épistémologies de toutes les disciplines. Par ailleurs, cette avancée technologique a des répercussions politiques, économiques et sociales si puissantes (et si imprévisibles) qu'elle amène le Collège de France à retrouver sa mission première : mettre la science devant la société. Voici donc ce qui justifie d'y consacrer le colloque de rentrée de cette année, dans une optique résolument interdisciplinaire. Il ne s'agit nullement de faire catalogue, ou étalage, de tout ce que les sciences attendent ou craignent de l'IA, en demeurant dans le registre des usages. On ne cherchera donc pas à répliquer les initiatives nombreuses, qu'elles soient publiques ou institutionnelles, que l'IA suscite aujourd'hui. On proposera au contraire de rassembler les réflexions autour d'une question centrale : comment les mutations actuelles de l'IA peuvent-elles se nouer avec la compréhension, en longue durée, de l'idée que l'on se fait des formes de l'intelligence – c'est-à-dire, plus précisément, des rapports entre apprentissage, connaissance et déduction ?Thomas Römer
