The psyops are in full press this week as the Sedition 6 could have set up an attack on National Guardsmen in DC perfectly. We look into it and some off hand comments Senator Slotkin made a few weeks that might have primed the pump for a hit. Washington Post decided to drop a sketchy story about the Hegseth ordering a secondary attack on "helpless" drug runners. NYC wants to police in pods. We discuss policing and the direction some Socialists want to take the country. Robots seem to be getting too real. Bari Weiss discusses the middle 75 percent of Americans while setting boundries for what commentators should be considered. Tim Walz's Minnesota corruption scandal explodes as 400 current DHS whistleblowers accuse the governor of covering up billions in fraud, retaliation against employees, and taxpayer money funneled to Somali terror groups like Al-Shabaab. Plus, Elissa Slotkin's shocking "Seditious Six" speech lays out the Democrat plan to defy Trump's second term. The "two survivors" story is yet another hoax by the Legacy/mainstream media. Independent Americans host Paul Rieckhoff (@PaulRieckhoff) rips through one of the most urgent, dangerous stories in American politics right now: Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth's unprecedented weaponization of the Department of Defense and FBI against Senator Mark Kelly and five other members of Congress, and millions of military retirees—just days before Thanksgiving. Coming to you from the new MS Now (formerly MSNBC) headquarters in Times Square, and after a whirlwind of speaking out, Paul connects the dots between Trump's escalating attacks, Ukraine's ongoing fight, 9/11 first responder revelations, and why this moment demands maximum vigilance from you—and every independent American. Paul explains how Trump and his “Acting” Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth are targeting Senator Mark Kelly and six other members of Congress—sending a chilling message to over two million military retirees—who now fear being dragged back under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for what they post or say. This is bigger than Democrat vs. Republican—it is about right vs. wrong, and about whether America is still a place where free speech is protected from government retaliation. He analyzes Senator Slotkin's warning about a new FBI counterterrorism inquiry into her after a Trump-criticizing video, and how combining DOD and FBI power into a dual intimidation strike looks less like a democracy and more like the behavior of despots in Russia, North Korea, or Saddam's Iraq. In classic Independent Americans fashion, Paul also hits rapid headlines that everyone should be tracking heading into Thanksgiving: fresh Russian missile and drone attacks on Ukraine, the simmering risk of U.S. strikes on Venezuela, the underreported stakes for National Guard and Reserve members serving in Congress, and new revelations about long-buried documents on the toxic dust that has killed more 9/11 first responders than were lost on the day itself. He connects it all back to accountability, vigilance, and the open seats at Thanksgiving tables that still remind families of the lasting costs of 9/11. And because this show always brings light, Paul closes with “something good”: a shout-out to The Duffel Blog—the “Onion for the military”—whose brutal satire of Trump's “woke” rhetoric, ICE raids, and Pentagon absurdity offers a sharp, much-needed laugh for vets and civilians alike. Because every episode of Independent Americans with Paul Rieckhoff breaks down the most important news stories--and offers light to contrast the heat of other politics and news shows. In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan examines the rising risk of war with Venezuela, secret peace talks over Ukraine, the abduction of Christian schoolchildren in Nigeria, Israel's shifting posture in Gaza and Lebanon, and the domestic political fight over sedition and extremist rhetoric inside the United States government. U.S. and Venezuela Move Closer to War: President Trump authorized covert CIA operations inside Venezuela, prompting the FAA to warn airlines about dangerous conditions in Venezuelan airspace. Reports from Bloomberg, Reuters, and the New York Times confirm GPS jamming and rising military activity. A Russian oil tanker headed for Caracas was turned away twice by the USS Stockdale and is now anchored off Cuba. Bryan notes that the White House still hopes for a peaceful exit by President Maduro, with Colombia offering asylum in exchange for guarantees of no future attempts to kill or arrest him. Trump's Ukraine Peace Plan Faces Pushback: A secret twenty-eight-point peace plan leaked last week, calling for Ukraine to give up parts of the Donbas, reduce its military to six hundred thousand troops, and abandon NATO membership. The plan would also restore economic ties between Russia and the West and release frozen Russian funds for joint rare earth projects. European leaders object, and President Zelenskyy says negotiations must continue, insisting Ukraine needs a larger standing army to deter future invasions. Bryan emphasizes that Trump wants the deal signed by Thanksgiving, warning Zelenskyy that U.S. support may end if he refuses. Ukraine's Deepening Corruption Crisis: Fifteen to thirty percent of aid intended for Ukraine's military and energy needs has been stolen, according to recent reporting. Several allies of Zelenskyy have been arrested, and the president's key aide, Andriy Yermak, is widely suspected of involvement. Ukraine's anti-corruption agency plans more indictments this week, placing Zelenskyy in a weakened negotiating position. Islamists Kidnap Christian Children in Nigeria: Three hundred Christian students were abducted from a Catholic school in central Nigeria. About fifty escaped by fleeing into the forest and hiding until farmers rescued them. Boko Haram and other jihadist factions are believed to be responsible. Bryan warns that these groups aim to build an Islamic caliphate across the Sahel and into the Gulf of Guinea, threatening regional Christians and strategic minerals such as cocoa, iron ore, bauxite, and oil. Trump has warned Nigeria that failure to protect Christians could trigger U.S. military action. Israel Reshapes Gaza and Expands Strikes in Lebanon: U.S. troops are withdrawing from Gaza's coordination center. Israeli, Arab, and vetted Palestinian officials will manage reconstruction in a new "Green Zone," while unvetted Palestinians remain in a devastated area controlled by Hamas. Polling shows Hamas' support has risen inside Gaza, meaning roughly half the population may remain under militant control. Israel also intensified operations in Lebanon, killing Hezbollah's top military commander in a drone strike despite an ongoing ceasefire. Jewish Extremists Spark Crisis in the West Bank: Prime Minister Netanyahu convened emergency meetings after Jewish extremists torched Palestinian homes and cars in a village attack. Israeli officials say about two hundred seventy young men are responsible for the most recent incidents and vow to act. Sedition Caucus Escalates Rhetoric Against Trump: Former CIA, FBI, and military officials who now serve as Democrats in Congress released a video urging service members to resist unlawful orders from President Trump. Senator Elissa Slotkin admitted she knows of no unlawful orders but says such orders might come. Bryan calls the effort a psychological operation designed to sow confusion inside the military. Legal experts warn that service members who refuse lawful orders could face court-martial and prison. Trump Meets NYC's Socialist Mayor Elect: Zohran Mamdani met with President Trump on Friday, and the two agreed on issues such as electricity costs and housing. Mamdani later repeated his belief that Trump is a fascist and a Nazi, prompting Republican leaders like Elise Stefanik to call Mamdani a jihadist with a long documented history of radical associations. Bryan argues the evidence strongly supports Stefanik's view and warns against normalizing Mamdani's ideology. Eric Swalwell Runs for Governor of California: Representative Swalwell announced his campaign on Jimmy Kimmel Live, promising to lead the "Resistance" against Trump. Bryan revisits the long-running Chinese influence operation that targeted young California Democrats, including Swalwell, and raises questions about whether the FBI ever thoroughly investigated the network linked to his former associate Fang Fang. Good News in Medicine: Japanese researchers found that the amino acid arginine significantly reduced Alzheimer's-related plaque and inflammation in animal studies. Dosing remains experimental, but Bryan notes it could offer a promising option for families exploring right-to-try pathways. The simplicity of common sense and knowing what works in this season of gratitude. Producer David Doll discusses an uncommon Thanksgiving movie. Michigan Senator Elissa Slotkin (D) says she was “not aware” of any illegal orders issued to American troops by President Trump in the wake of participating in a video with other Democratic lawmakers suggesting the president did so. We're joined by John Dombroski, founder and president of Grand Canyon Planning Associates. The indictments against former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James were dismissed without prejudice today.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

CannCon and Zak Paine dig into a packed news cycle, starting with Marjorie Taylor Greene's surprise resignation and what it signals for Georgia politics and wider MAGA strategy. They trace how Venezuela has become the centerpiece of a global struggle involving drug networks, election interference, and deep-state ratlines, as U.S. naval power builds in the Caribbean and intelligence chatter heats up. The hosts expose the coordinated push by Democrats, including Klobuchar and Slotkin, to undermine military command by seeding doubts about “illegal orders,” tying it directly to Trump's actions against cartels, foreign interference, and the intelligence apparatus itself. From Rasmussen drops to Maduro-era revelations, the looming terrorist designation of Cartel de los Soles, and the Venezuelan connection to global election manipulation, CannCon and Zak connect the dots between recent strikes, State Department signals, and Trump's call to focus America's “energy and might” on election fraud. With commentary on Comey's legal troubles, the military vaccine fallout, and the unraveling networks behind the global criminal state, this episode pulls together geopolitics, domestic subversion, and the fight to reclaim U.S. institutions.

Dear Leader Donald Trump declared that Michigan's Democratic U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, and other Democrats, should be hung like George Washington would hang those found guilty of sedition. Slotkin, and a handful of other Democrats, released a video imploring the United States military to refuse to follow any illegal orders from The Trump Regime. And rather than debate the merits of their argument, Trump wants them punished for "seditious" behavior. Donald Trump had to make an about-face on the Epstein Files because some Trump voters were getting…mildly annoyed. Will Sommer joins Sarah to hear them out. Then, Sen. Elissa Slotkin joins the show to discuss her PSA with her colleagues to the military and intelligence community, reminding them they can refuse illegal orders. They also discuss the recent government shutdown fight, and what Sen. Slotkin learned from winning several tough races in Michigan. NOTE: This episode discusses Sen. President Donald Trump is accusing half a dozen Democratic lawmakers, including Michigan U.S. Senator Elissa Slotkin, of sedition “punishable by death” after the lawmakers called on U.S. military members to uphold the Constitution and defy “illegal orders.” WWJ's Jackie Paige and Chris Fillar have your Friday morning news. A group of Democrat lawmakers with military backgrounds released a video urging service members to "refuse illegal orders," sparking backlash from conservatives who claim it's a call to defy President Trump. Posted by Sen. Elissa Slotkin, the video warns of threats to the Constitution "from right here at home." Slotkin and colleagues have also introduced legislation to limit Trump's authority over the National Guard and military actions, but that context is absent from the video titled "Don't Give Up the Ship."See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Join Jim and Greg for the Tuesday 3 Martini Lunch as they react to former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers admitting a disturbing connection to Jeffrey Epstein, one House Democrat rebuking another for blatant election mischief, and several Senate Democrats already weighing White House bids for 2028.First, they are disgusted as former Clinton administration Treasury Secretary Larry Summers says he is "deeply ashamed" for maintaining a close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein long after Epstein was known for trafficking girls. Summers now plans to withdraw from public life. He reportedly asked Epstein for advice on pursuing a romantic relationship with a woman he was supposedly mentoring. Jim argues that it is important this information is public and that Summers should go away.Next, they applaud Washington Rep. Marie Glusenkamp Perez for leading an effort to rebuke fellow Democrat Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia for announcing his retirement on the same day as the filing deadline for his seat in Congress. This leaves Garcia's chief of staff as the only Democrat in the race. Jim notes that the party that claims to be protecting democracy repeatedly shows contempt for it through stunts like this. Finally, Jim vents about the nine Senate Democrats clearly or potentially positioning themselves for a 2028 presidential run. He says none of them appear likely to be competitive, but that will not stop several of them from jumping into the race anyway. Please visit our great sponsors:Cancel unwanted subscriptions and reach your financial goals faster with Rocket Money at https://RocketMoney.com/MARTINI Stop putting off those doctors' appointments and go to https://ZocDoc.com/3ML to find and instantly book a top-rated doctor today.Give your liver the support it deserves with Dose Daily. Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin stepped into the spotlight when she delivered the Democratic response to President Donald Trump's joint address to Congress earlier this year, and has remained there ever since. Now, on a mission to help rebuild the Democratic Party, Slotkin is hearing from people across the country just how deep the fractures go. Playbook's Adam Wren and national politics reporter Samuel Benson dig into the existential threats facing both parties, and how the hot-button issues playing out in Washington are reverberating across the West.
John Darkow - PoliticalCartoons.com On this week's show... The federal government shutdown is over for now, but the debate on healthcare rages on. Michigan Democrats, led by Senators Peters and Slotkin, have harsh words for the 7 Democrats who voted with Republicans to end the 41-day shutdown without any guaranteed continuation of healthcare insurance subsidies. The Republican bill includes a potential onetime $500,000 or more bonus for 8 Senators investigated as part of the January 6 insurrection (Lindsey Graham says he'll sue for millions!) The White House calls the newly released Epstein emails part of a Democratic Party hoax – that there's nothing there – but Trump is doing all he can to keep the files secret, and redirect the story to investigations of retirees like Bill Clinton and Larry Summers. The U.S. House will vote on a full release of all the files in early December. Donald Trump basically admits widespread law-breaking by his reelection team, issuing federal pardons to 71 of his minions – even though they haven't been federally charged. And the pardons don't save folks like Giuliani and Meadows from possible state criminal charges. The looming increases in health insurance premiums has convinced four companies to pull out of the Michigan market. Former Congressman Mike Rogers thought he had a free ride to the GOP nomination for U.S. Senator, but there's a new candidate who could make the next 9 months a lot more difficult for him. Former Michigan Republican Party co-chair Bernadette Smith starts with more than a little support from the party's MAGA base. Rogers is now saying the 2024 election was stolen from him but providing no proof. And there's the story of two presidential grandkids extending family traditions: JFK's grandson, Jack Schlossberg, extends the family tradition by running for Congress in New York … in a district that includes Trump Tower. Donald Trump's granddaughter, Kai, is extending a different family tradition: she's playing golf, making her LPGA debut as an invited golfer in the LPGA Annika Tournament. Sadly, after the 2nd round she was dead last (18 over par) and missed the cut

Michigan's Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin's push to show the coolness of centrism to younger and independent voters isn't going as smoothly as she and her people are pushing. LOL's Pat Johnston devotes a little more time than usual in this "Friday Short" to describe how Slotkin's failing in these chaotic and scary times which call for stark moral clarity. Slotkin is using critical words against Israel's actions in Gaza, but refuses to show-up to vote on a resolution blocking offensive weapons to Israel. Nor will she declare Israel's actions in Gaza as a genocide. The lack of moral clarity as fascism takes over in the United States isn't leadership. It's cowardice. Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) sits down with Margaret Hoover to discuss her economic “war plan” for Democrats and her approach to bridging the ideological divisions within the party.Slotkin–who won her seat even as Donald Trump won her state–calls for Democrats to stop being so sensitive, responds to the rise of progressive populists like Zohran Mamdani, and addresses the challenges of confronting the national debt. She also comments on Mamdani's refusal to condemn the use of the phrase “globalize the intifada” by anti-Israel protesters. The former CIA analyst talks about the impact of the rescission package Republicans passed this week and explains why she believes some GOP lawmakers are afraid to defy the president. She also discusses Trump's agreement to provide weapons to Ukraine through NATO and the possibility of restoring deterrence against America's adversaries. Slotkin reacts to the rift among Republicans over the Trump administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and defends her bill that would require immigration officers to clearly identify themselves when making arrests.Support for Firing Line with Margaret Hoover is provided by Robert Granieri, The Tepper Foundation, Vanessa and Henry Cornell, The Fairweather Foundation, and Pritzker Military Foundation.
Steve Gruber brings on Katie Heid to dig into fresh allegations of corruption by Governor Gretchen Whitmer, revealing that emails show she pressured lawmakers in 2022 to funnel a $15 million grant (later revised to $20 million) through the MEDC to benefit donor Fay Beydoun's nonprofit, which then used the funds for luxury expenses, and that subsequent raids by the Attorney General's office on Beydoun's home and the MEDC have intensified calls for federal investigation. Additionally, Heid and Gruber explore the escalating political feud between President Trump and Senator Elissa Slotkin over a new Senate bill requiring ICE agents to unmask, with Trump accusing Slotkin of "hating our country" for supporting what he claims would endanger immigration enforcement officers.

At the same time, MAGA Republicans in Congress are providing major subsidies for the coal & oil industry. This won't just harm Americans on a public health and environmental front, this will destroy jobs and our nation's economy. Even more, thanks in part to my MAGA Republican Congressman John Moolenaar, Republicans are handing China a big economic victory while hurting America. 17:24-36:21: MAGA Murder Budget Is Pro-Oligarchy Pat shows how Michigan MAGA Republicans in the State House failed to pass a budget by the July 1 deadline. Like Congressional Republicans, Michigan Republicans are trying to steal from the working class safety net, and funnel money up towards their rich & elite donor base. Pat highlights how the MAGA Murder Budget attacks Medicaid, and how Republican arguments for work requirements is another way to humiliate the working class. 36:22-46:01: Last Call-Sen.Slotkin's "Economic War Plan" Review In the "Last Call," Pat gives a review of Michigan Democratic Senator Elissa Slotkin's "Economic War Plan." He points-out where he agrees with her, and where and why some of her incremental plans fail the moment we're in as a country. 46:02-47:54: Ending Please, subscribe to the podcast, download each episode, and give it a good review if you can! leftoflansing@gmail.com Left of Lansing is now on YouTube as well! leftoflansing.com NOTES: "Senate passes ‘big, beautiful bill:' What it means for Michigan." Jody Hamilton, stepping in for Stephanie Miller, dissects the fiery confirmation hearing of Secretary Hegseth. Senators Duckworth, Slotkin, and Hirono didn't hold back, directly questioning his qualifications and deeply concerning past remarks about protestors. Beyond the hearing, we navigate today's tumultuous political climate, from the impact of tariffs and soaring healthcare costs to the vital necessity of progressive activism as election season approaches. When Elissa Slotkin narrowly won her Senate seat in Michigan last fall, she was one of only four Democratic senators to claim victory in a state that voted for Donald Trump. It made other Democrats take note: since then, the Party has turned to her as someone who can bridge the red state–blue state divide. In March, Slotkin delivered the Democrats' rebuttal to Trump's speech before Congress, and she's been making headlines for criticizing her own party's attempts to rein in the President and the Republican Party. She thinks Democrats need to start projecting “alpha energy,” that identity politics “needs to go the way of the dodo,” and that Democrats should drop the word “oligarchy” from their vocabulary entirely. Slotkin prides herself on her bipartisanship, and she believes that Democrats must use old-school collegial collaboration in Congress. And, as different Democratic leaders have appeared on The New Yorker Radio Hour in the past few months, discussing what the next four years might have in store, Slotkin tells David Remnick about a different path forward. Pope Francis posthumously sends a Popemobile to Gaza — a gesture more symbolic than logistical. Chuck Todd returns to discuss media complicity, Biden's bubble-wrap presidency, and the audience-capture logic warping modern newsrooms. In the Spiel, Bernie Sanders' love of the word “oligarchs” versus Elissa Slotkin's preference for “kings” is perhaps explained by a family history that makes Slotkin a descendant of America's hot dog royalty. As Democrats grapple with President Trump’s first 100 days in office, they also contend with a minority in both the House and Senate. Looking ahead at the long road to the 2026 midterm elections, some Democrats are hoping to shape the party’s messaging and platform well before then. Michigan Sen. Elissa Slotkin has been laying out her strategy and joined Geoff Bennett to discuss it further. PBS News is supported by - https://www.pbs.org/newshour/about/funders
