We are kicking off Halloween month with a spooky tune that continues in Luke Ski's tradition of doing song parodies performed as an impersonation of a character from something in pop-culture. This time around he is portraying Scratch the ghost from the hilarious Disney Channel (and Disney+) animated TV series "The Ghost And Molly McGee", to the tune of Janis Joplin's version of "Me and Bobby McGee". It's worth noting that Luke was inspired to write and record a demo this song back in April when he was asked to be a guest on Chandler Desrochers' Disney TV Animation themed podcast, "The Podcast Without A Cool Acronym", when his special guests were the creators of "The Ghost And Molly McGee", Bill Motz and Bob Roth, to talk about the Season 1 finale. They both got a kick out of the song, and Luke made plans to release a proper finished studio version of it, so here it is, just in time for all the grim grinning ghosts to come out and socialize. Chandler also made an excellent MUSIC VIDEO for the song using clips from the show which can be seen on YouTube. Music, spooky sounds, and final mix by Steve Goodie

I have the most heart-opening and vulnerable conversation with my friends Jenna Kim and Tristan Cabral about navigating the unknown, coming out, and family relationships as queer Christians with an evolving concept of and relationship to faith. It's the longest podcast conversation I've ever had and one of the most impactful. Every part of it is so intentional and necessary to share. We talk about how challenging it was to grow up seeing zero representation of people who are like us, and how we bravely had to be the examples we wish we saw around us and create a life for ourselves as queer humans. Jenna and Tristan openly share the pressures they faced and still face of feeling like they need to be “perfect” as the oldest children in Asian households of faith. We also dive into why it was so hard for us to come out to our parents. In the last 20 minutes of this conversation, we share ways you can become a better actionable ally to the LGBTQIA+ community.Jenna is proudly Korean-American. She's the oldest of four girls and a pastor's kid. Jenna works as a production supervisor at Disney TV Animation. Tristan is a first generation Filipino-American working as a storyboard artist at Nickelodeon. He is very proud of his identity as a Filipino immigrant story teller and dreams to one day be a TV Director on a cartoon that heavily focuses on cultural intersections. This is a trigger warning. We do talk about suicide in this episode. If you're struggling right now, please know that you are so freaking loved, and the world is more magical and vibrant with you in it. If you need direct support, call the national suicide and crisis lifeline at 988. This lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in the United States.ResourcesJedidiah Jenkins' Like Streams to the Ocean: The book I read from at the beginning of our conversation. The Queerology Podcast Jenna refers to that shares stories of humans at the intersection of being part of the LGBTQIA+ community and having faith in God or something bigger than themselves.Learn more about my Marketing Masterclass on 12.1.22!Organizations that support the LGBTQIA+ community and its youth: The Trevor Project, PFLAG, GLAAD, Born This Way Foundation.Connect with me @lucca_petrucci on Instagram or TikTok.

Chuck and Stacey continue their interview with respected kids animation coach Tony Gonzales, founder of Kids VO Productions in Los Angeles. Tony speaks to the expectations of young talent in the voice over industry and the vocal challenges young male voice actors face when going through puberty. He talks about how he helped his student, Zach Callison capture the voice of his character, Steven on Steven Universe and shares why he’s often called upon by networks like Nickelodeon and Disney to help actors work through vocal difficulties. Tony recommends things like tea and Entertainer’s Secret spray, an industry standard and proud sponsor of VO Buzz Weekly, to help keep your voice healthy. He explains how his journey in acting began with theatre and improvisation, and lead to working in casting at Disney TV Animation. Realizing he wanted to work more closely with talent, Tony considered becoming an agent but was guided by respected peers to pursue his calling as a coach. Tony talks about the importance of working with a coach that knows what the industry is asking for and the importance of knowing when you’re ready to make a voice over demo. He offers some lessons he’s learned that have helped him in his career, some of the wisdom he passes along to his students and their parents about working in the industry, and some things to do and to avoid doing at auditions or callbacks.
