Tread Perilously's crossover month continues as Baby and the Mystery Machine collide in the Supernatural episode called "ScoobyNatural." When Dean is awarded a widescreen TV for defeating a haunted dinosaur toy, he and Sam are transported into the animated reality of Scooby Doo, Where Are You! -- episode 16, "A Night of Fright Is No Delight" to be exact. While Sam frets about being a drawn character, Dean turns into a total fan even as he attempts to tempt Daphne away from Fred. But the merriment may get cancelled when the lighthearted events of the plot turn to real murder. Will a haunted television turn this crossover into something lethal? Justin admits to never being a Muppets guy, but he shares Dean's affection for Scooby Doo. A discussion of children's cartoons and the Looney Tunes breaks out. Erik envisions voice actor Frank Welker's mobile recording studio. Justin argues for Velma Dinkley as a Bisexual Icon. Justin waxes about the musical chases in the original series. The Scooby Doo and Supernatural formats are examined. The tendency toward real estate developers as the villain is explained. Matthew Lillard once gets all the praise, as does Grey Griffin. Velma and Sam prove to be a fruitful pairing and Erik tries to figure out why the episode's animation leaves him cold.
“The Cuphead Show! is a character-driven comedy series following the unique misadventures of loveable, impulsive scamp Cuphead and his cautious but easily swayed brother Mugman. As the two scour their surreal homeworld of the Inkwell Isles in search of fun and adventure, they always have each other's back. Unless there's only one cookie left, in which case it's every cup for himself. The Cuphead Show! combines nostalgic delights, side-splitting gags, and a healthy dose of the heebie jeebies—especially when a ridiculously weird nemesis, The Devil himself, arrives on the scene to toy with our heroes.”★ Support this podcast on Patreon ★

Arriving on DVD and Digital tomorrow, October 6, 2020, and just in time for Halloween, it's Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! I had a chance to sit down with writer/director/producer Maxwell Atoms (The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy) to chat about the latest holiday special for Mystery Inc. This flick features guest stars Bill Nye the Science Guy and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark along with the sleuth crew you know and love, but keep an eye out for some special guests along the way. Atoms and I talked about how he came to be on this project, his history with Scooby-Doo and notable voice acting legends Frank Welker and Grey Griffin. Plus, Atoms revealed the unplanned but not-so-surprising connection to his Halloween work on his hit show The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy and this new Halloween special; fans of Atoms' cartoon should spot it pretty quickly. But we also talked about some of the surprising crossover characters from the wider Warner Bros. universe who show up and how they fit perfectly into the story.- Support the Show through Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/saturdaymourningcartoons - Want to find our cohosts online? Please turn off your cellphones and join Doom & Fitz as they load up and head to Gotham...in the Mystery Machine! For our 12th commentary, we head back to 1 month ago in 2018 for Scooby-Doo & Batman: The Brave And The Bold starring Frank Welker, Grey Griffin, Deidrich Bader, and Tara Strong. They gush about how great this movie and both franchises are, debt callers for people that changed their numbers long ago, miscolored dog members, talking chimps, and backyard BBQs. Sit back and enjoy the lovefest, gang, this is a good one.
This is the first film based on the Batman: The Brave and the Bold since the series ended in 2011, but it is the thirtieth entry in the direct-to-video series of Scooby-Doo films. This is of course a crossover between Scooby-Doo and Batman: The Brave and the Bold. After saving Scooby-Doo and the gang from some truly dangerous villains, Batman enlists the help of Mystery Inc. to help him solve one of his few unsolved cases, when new information shows up. Meanwhile, they also have to deal with a new mysterious villain who calls himself the ‘Crimson Cloak’, who is planning to take over Gotham City. Starring the voice talents of Frank Welker, Matthew Lillard, Grey Griffin, Kate Micucci, Diedrich Bader, Jeff Bennett, John DiMaggio, Tom Kenny, and Tara Strong.
Rob Paulsen, one of the most accomplished and well-known voice actors of our time, sits down with various other voice actors to discuss their experiences! And yes, of course, there'll be plenty of voice acting games from script-reading to re-enacting famous film scenes with cartoon character voices. Get access to the video portion TWO WEEKS before the podcast by joining team Alpha!
