This episode follows her final marriage, to a fake prince that Zsa Zsa's daughter described as an "evil queen," the fake prince's legal action against that daughter, a robbery of the fake prince by a lesbian street gang, and of course, Zsa Zsa's Slap Heard Around The World. This week, we turn our attention to the middle - and certainly the best known - sister of our glamorous trio, Zsa Zsa Garbor. In this Part One of her life, we follow the irrepressible Zsa Zsa her through her first marriage - and perhaps an affair with the founder of the Turkish Republic, Kemal Ataturk - as well as her move to the US, where she promptly destroyed her sister Eva's first marriage, for reasons that were never clear to Eva herself. Zsa Zsa likely thought "such is life when you're a Gabor," and after all, Conrad Hilton was waiting to scoop her out of obscurity. Once upon a time, Las Vegas loved all things atomic: In the 1950's, we were the nuclear testing capital of the country, and atomic “tourists” flocked to mushroom cloud vantage points, secret societies held viewing parties with celebrities like Zsa Zsa Gabor, and Miss Atomic Bomb famously posed for a photo wearing nothing but a tiny, poofy mushroom cloud. So when did that all start to change? How did protests, progress, and the controversy over Yucca Mountain change local attitudes about nuclear testing? Co-host Dayvid Figler sits down with Matt Malinowski, Director of Education at the Atomic Museum, to find out. Want to get in touch? J. Randy Taraborrelli , author of The Hiltons: The True Story of an American Dynast. The Hiltons is a sweeping saga of the success-and excess-of an iconic American family. Demanding and enigmatic, patriarch Conrad Hilton's visionary ideas and unyielding will established the model for the modern luxury hotel industry. But outside the boardroom, Conrad struggled with emotional detachment, failed marriages, and conflicted Catholicism. Then there were his children: Playboy Nicky Hilton's tragic alcoholism and marriage to Elizabeth Taylor was the stuff of tabloid legend. Barron Hilton, on the other hand, deftly handled his father's legacy, carrying the Hilton brand triumphantly into the new millennium. Eric, raised apart from his older brothers, accepted his supporting role in the Hilton dynasty with calm and quiet-a stark contrast to the boys' much younger half-sister Francesca, whose battle for recognition led her into courtrooms and conflict. The cast of supporting players includes the inimitable Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was married to Conrad briefly and remained a thorn in his side for decades, and a host of other Hollywood and business luminaries with whom the Hiltons crossed paths and swords over the years.

(It depends on what the word “owed” means.) On the show this week we wrap up Summer Series 2024 and the story of Bill Clinton with the Sex Scandal that defined the 90's. (There are ZERO Monica jokes here, move on if that is what you are looking for.) Along the way we learn that Dave had a strong sexual attraction to Bill Clinton. (He is always trying to fuck his way to the top!) Then we dive right into why Bill Clinton got into trouble in the first place. (Also Dick Nixon was fucking Zsa Zsa Gabor?) We give the short, short version of Whitewater just to show how far out in left field Ken Starr was with the whole Monica thing! We then meet young Miss Lewinsky (She got fucked by more that just Bill Clinton) and how she and Bill did a very dumb thing together. Then we meet Linda, who loved Monica so much that she betrayed her hoping for a fat book deal. (Linda Tripp is treated EXACTLY how she deserves in this story.) Finally, we examine the moral, legal and ethical points of the whole scandal. (Bill OUGHT to have resigned!) To kick things off in this episode, we'll be discussing the great PAUL DOUGLAS. You may not know his name, but you certainly know his face. With his somewhat craggy mug that usually sported a hang-dog look, he made a career at playing gruff, tough guys who were usually softies underneath, as he does so perfectly as LINDA DARNELL's rough-around-the-edges businessman husband in “A Letter To Three Wives” (1949). Dana and Tom discuss the crime noir thriller, Touch of Evil (1958): written and directed by Orson Welles, music by Henry Mancini, starring Charleton Heston, Orson Welles, Janet Leigh, Marlene Dietrich, and Zsa Zsa Gabor.Plot Summary: In "Touch of Evil," director Orson Welles crafts a gripping, noir-infused masterpiece that immerses the audience in a world of corruption, betrayal, and moral ambiguity. Set in a seedy border town on the U.S.-Mexico border, a car bomb explosion on the American side of the border sets off a chain of events that exposes the underbelly of law enforcement and political power. At the center of the narrative is the enigmatic and morally compromised police captain Hank Quinlan, played with remarkable depth by Orson Welles himself. Quinlan is a brilliant detective known for his unorthodox methods, but his obsession with bringing criminals to justice has led him down a dark path of manipulation and deceit. He's a character who personifies the blurred lines between good and evil, justice and corruption. Opposing Quinlan is the charismatic and determined Mexican narcotics officer, Mike Vargas, portrayed by the charismatic Charlton Heston. Vargas is determined to solve the bombing case, and is willing to confront the pervasive corruption that infects both sides of the border. As the investigation unfolds, "Touch of Evil" delves into themes of racial tension, prejudice, and the abuse of power, all set against a backdrop of gritty urban decay. The film's supporting cast, including Janet Leigh as Vargas's wife, Susan, and Marlene Dietrich as a mysterious fortune-telling gypsy, adds depth to the story and further complicates the moral landscape."Touch of Evil" is a cinematic tour de force that continues to be celebrated for its complexity, social commentary, and innovative filmmaking techniques. It's a film that leaves a lasting impression by challenging viewers to question their own notions of justice and morality in a world where darkness lurks just beneath the surface. Orson Welles' "Touch of Evil" is a timeless classic that remains a must-see for cinephiles and lovers of thought-provoking cinema. You can now follow us on Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok (@gmoatpodcast) or find our Facebook page at Greatest Movie of All-Time Podcast. For more on the episode, go to: https://www.ronnyduncanstudios.com/post/touch-of-evil-1958For the entire rankings list so far, go to:Full Graded List - Greatest Movies of All-Time Ronny Duncan Studios

On today's episode, we're watching our figures for our new boyfrands, doing some amatuer detective work, and also heading out on a Hawaiian vacation, while we revisit the absolutely fever dream of a movie that is A Very Brady Sequel (1996). This movie was directed by Arlene Sanford, and written by Harry Elfont, Deborah Kaplan, James Berg and Stan ZimmermanThis movie stars Shelley Long (Outrageous Fortune, The Money Pit), Gary Cole (The West Wing, The Good Wife), and Tim Matheson (National Lampoon's Animal House, She's All That). We also have some great performances from Olivia Hack (Hey Arnold, Avatar: The Last Airbender), Christine Taylor (Campfire Tales, Zoolander), Jennifer Elise Cox (EDtv, Moesha) and Christopher Daniel Barnes (Spider-Man, The Little Mermaid). Included along with these folks are fun cameos from Rupaul, Rosie O' Donnell, Zsa Zsa Gabor, and John Hillerman. This movie was made out of the immense success of the first film, but in true sequel fashion, goes off the rails and dives into more of the camp/kitsch territory. This movie has a bit more of an edge to it, and really cranks up the over-the-top nature, but for some reason, this movie feels like a nice, warm blanket, and I will watch it at any time to get all the feels! Bob, Cory, Philena and Greg are back for the first time this season! Yes. This is only S2 episode with all the OMFYS co-hosts. Greg hasn't been here since our season premiere, but Cory wasn't around for that one, and the Psychedelic Kaiju ep had no Franklins whatsoever. We did get a little chatty with the joyous reunion and all, and our movies this time gave us a lot of psychological baggage to unpack, so this ep is, um, expansive. However, Cory tells Bob that "people really like long podcasts," so have at enjoy the 88 minute binge. This week we explore criminal justice and murder with two f--d up movies from directors we should have covered a lot sooner. First, we have Orson Welles pulling off the mother of all crane shots in TOUCH OF EVIL, his ACAB masterpiece from 1958--a film so brilliant that even Charlton Heston in brown face can't ruin it. Welles is Hank Quinlin, a grotesque American cop in a sleazy border town who never found a piece of evidence he didn't manufacture. Heston is Vargas, an upstanding Mexican official who clashes with Quinlin when an American businessman is blown to bits by a car bomb that was planted on the Mexican side of the border. The movie is a technical marvel with a banger of a Latin jazz meets rock and roll score by Henry Mancini. And the cast is pretty amazing too, with Janet Leigh, Marlene Dietrich, Joseph Cotten, Akim Tamiroff, Joseph Calleia, and the Queen of Outer Space herself, Zsa Zsa Gabor. Cory gives it the stony seal of approval. Next, we come dangerously close to the 21st Century with David Lynch's LOST HIGHWAY (1997). At the time Lynch and Barry Gifford wrote this film, they were both obsessed with the OJ Simpson murder trial and how dissociative fugue allowed The Juice to maintain his breezy demeanor despite his horrible crimes. Lynch takes his exploration of murder, guilt and fugue states to an appropriately absurd level here as Bill Pullman plays a jazz saxophonist who murders his wife, goes to jail, and wakes up as an auto mechanic played by Balthazar Getty. Making things even creepier is the casting of Robert Blake as the movie's "Mystery Man," a few years before he was the defendant in a sensational murder trial of his own. Also starring Patricia Arquette and Robert Loggia in dual roles plus Natasha Gregson Wagner (Natalie Wood's daughter), Gary Busey, Richard Pryor (his last film role), and Marilyn Manson as a porn actor to make things even more problematic. Book Vs. Movie: Touch of Evil The 1956 novel Badge of Evil Vs. the 1958 Film Noir ClassicThe Margos dive right back into one of our favorite genres--film noir! The 1958 Orson Welles's directed film Touch of Evil is based on a 1956 novel by Whit Masteron titled Badge of Evil. The book sold reasonably well at the time, but at the time, the movie was given mixed reviews due to Welles not staying until the final edit process. In 1998, a “re-cut” of the film was based on a 58-page memo Welles had sent to the studio 40 years previously is now considered a modern classic and one of the last true “film noirs” to be released. Whit Masterson was the nom de plume of two writers--Wade Miller and Will Daemer who wrote more than 30 books together (including Kitten With a Whip in 1964!) Their original story is about a man, Rudy Linneker, killed by a dynamite blast at this home. His daughter Tara stands to make $2 million and is engaged to someone her father disapproved of before her death. There are other suspects, including Ernest Farnum, a disgruntled employee who improbably confesses. Detectives Leron McCoy and Hank Quinlan are considered “legends” in Los Angeles for their excellent work, and Assistant District Attorney Mitch Holt is suspicious. The rest of the story is a mish-mash of double-crossing police and families in danger, with several lives and careers ruined while exposing hypocrisy and crime in the L.A. police. Orson Welles was given this project as a B Movie and decided to take apart the story and rebrand it as his vision moving the book action from San Diego to the U.S. & Mexico border. Our protagonist (played by Charlton Heston) was renamed Miguel Vargas and played in “brown face” to serve Welles's theme of racism and American relations with Mexico. 34-year-old pre-Psycho Janet Leigh rounds out the cast as Vargas's new bride, Susan Vargas, pre-Duel Dennis Weaver as the Night Manager, and an array of top-notch character actors played by a multi-racial cast.Stars like Zsa Zsa Gabor, Keenan Wynn, and Marlene Dietrich agreed to work for union pay to help keep on budget. Every Sunday night, for over 15 years, a weekly Drag celebration was presented at Sydney's Stonewall Hotel on iconic Oxford Street. Polly's Follies became a Sydney institution having commenced life at the famous Albury Hotel some 28 years before. Presiding over this hypnotic entertainment was the doyen of Sydney Drag, Polly Petrie; a tough broad with humour as dry as the Sahara, the glamour of Zsa Zsa Gabor and the steely command of Joan Crawford. Polly Petrie is also Drag Mother to a host of novice drag queens taking their first steps into this colourful world of performance. Polly takes a maternal approach to the rookies; mentoring, guiding and passing on her infinite wisdom. Polly Petrie is the creation of Craig Petrie, a ballroom dancer who was initially discovered working behind a bar by choreographer Ross Coleman. He was thrust into the role of back-up dancer to many celebrated drag queens of the past, who lead the shows at famed Capriccios - a prominent venue on Oxford street with extravagant shows of big casts and glamorous costumes. In this fascinating conversation Polly gives us an insight into the early scene as a performer; one that continues to engage him in the persona of which he is famous around the world. He explains the origin of the follies and the link with the musical The Boyfriend, that gave him his drag name. It is a life rich with fabulous experiences and encounters. We recorded this conversation in his famous ‘caravan', a haven that accommodates his extensive wardrobe. One of the coolest around is my guest on Calling Old Hollywood this week, Actor and Author Darby Hinton. From Wagon Train to Bill Tilghman and the Outlaws, Days of our Lives, Good Guys and Bad Guys, he's done quite alot. Best known though for his role as Israel Boone on Daniel Boone. We filmed this upcoming episode in both video and audio. He was generous to show us film and television memoribilia including the coon skin hat that made his role as Israel Boone so infamous (will be in video). Darby and I talk what it was like growing up on set, his father Actor Ed Hinton, personal stories of Hollywood, westerns, life coaching, Film Festivals, his role in organizations like 'A Minor Consideration' and 'The Entertainment Community Fund' (Formerly the Actors Fund), the future of cinema, Fess Parker, Darby's pet monkey that destroyed Zsa Zsa Gabor's house (yep), and more! Whose Job is it Exactly to Keep my Mom Happy? Tommy Schnurmacher's memoir details the foibles of his tumultuous relationship with his Holocaust survivor Mom who looked like Elizabeth Taylor and sounded like Zsa Zsa Gabor! BIO As a writer, Montreal media icon Schnurmacher is an intense force of nature, a seismic swell of visceral empathy, laser-sharp wit and courageous self-analysis. Now meet Olga. Auschwitz prisoner A-25057, aka Mom, A fearless, dramatic and unpredictable maverick. An original. Exposing the souls of a family for all to see, Make-up Tips from Auschwitz is an addictive page-turner. Schnurmacher's voice resonates with a lyrical cadence all his own and an unsettling candor reminiscent of humorist David Sedaris and essayist Augusten Burroughs. Like the Oscar-winning film, Life is Beautiful, Schnurmacher revisits the Holocaust with rays of light in the darkness. “Makeup Tips from Auschwitz. How Vanity Saved my Mother's Life” is a story of remarkable courage in the face of adversity. It is also a story of one very glamorous mom. Mordecai Richler and Philip Roth detailed how the melting pot Americanized immigrants. This memoir is the story of a Hungarian refugee family whose chutzpah and moxie allowed it to survive and thrive in a strange new environment. It is also the story of the rich threads and struggles that bind a unique mother-son relationship. Meet Olga, Auschwitz prisoner A-25057 , aka Mom. A fearless, dramatic and unpredictable maverick. An original. Exposing the souls of a family for all to see, Makeup Tips from Auschwitz has an unsettling candor reminiscent of humorist David Sedaris and essayist Augusten Burroughs. Like the Oscar-winning film, Life is Beautiful, the memoir revisits the Holocaust with rays of light in the darkness. It is a story of a family's cultural collision and delightful dysfunction. With the growing pains of Shtisel, the earthiness of The Simpsons and the fierce family loyalty of The Sopranos, these newcomers from Hungary defy authority. They figured out early on that conventional values were not enough. It was their moxie that allowed them to succeed. Schmooze with the passing parade that includes John Lennon, Elizabeth Taylor and Crystal Nacht. You will laugh out loud as you meet a cast of supporting characters who redefine eccentric: the 50-minute therapist, the psychic rabbi and a superstitious hypochondriac named Paris. Once you get to know these mutineers from the mainstream, you will want to organize an intervention. Or at least a Passover Seder. The memoir has been described as poignant, addictive and unpredictable by readers who sampled chapters of it on Facebook. In addition to the bookstores in Montreal it is available online around the world in soft cover, hard cover and Kindle on Amazon. Also online at Barnes and Noble. Floyd Webb of the Blacknuss Network joins us as we blast off to the stars for two wildly and weirdly different cinematic visions of space travel in a sprawling but mellow talk that goes from usual movie and weed convo into the mysterious deaths of NASA's Black astronauts, Floyd's experiences with Melvin Van Peebles, and so much more. This episode takes small steps and giant leaps PLUS it's dropping on the 53rd anniversary of the US Moon landing! Bob assures us that OMFYS is far too disorganized to have our Black astronaut conspiracy episode posting on NATIONAL MOON DAY and that this is purely coincidental, but is it!?! Blaxploitation and Afrofuturist longings collide in our first film, TOP OF THE HEAP (1972), where producer/writer/director Christopher St. John stars as George Lattimer, a Black beat cop in Washington D.C. who lapses into hallucinatory dreams of landing on the Moon. However, even his interstellar fantasies are no escape from his real-life anxieties. His badge makes him a pariah in his own community and earns him no respect from his white co-workers. His marriage is falling apart and things aren't going much better with his lounge singer girlfriend. And if that wasn't enough to cause a break with reality, his teenage daughter is doing drugs; and he is avoiding his mother's funeral in Alabama. Virtually lost for decades, Floyd gives insights into his quest to rediscover it and make it available on Blacknuss.tv. And OMFYS goes from the sublime with "Top of the Heap" to the ridiculous with Zsa Zsa Gabor in QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE (1958) where square-jawed, horned-up American spacemen crash land on Venus, which is of course run entirely by 50s pinup models with Forbidden Planet surplus ray guns. Their leader is a masked and man-hating space Queen hellbent on using her space ray to destroy the Earth. Can Zsa Zsa as a rebel leader scientist free the Earth astronauts so they can save their home world? Will everyone stop making out long enough to disable the death ray and put Zsa Zsa on the throne? And what kind of weed do you smoke with all this mid-Century nonsense? We have the answer to the last question at least somewhere in the vast expanses of this episode after Floyd blows our minds with his tale of seeing "Queen of Outer Space" in a segregated theater in Mississippi when it was first released. Top of the Heap is streaming on Blacknuss, a streaming service focused on Black independent filmmakers from around the world. You can start your free trial at https://blacknuss.vhx.tv/ and it's just $3.99 a month after that. $3.99! Queen of Outer Space is available for $2.99 on Prime or on Dailymotion if your conscience can bear it it. https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x21o27r Special Guest: Floyd Webb Co-hosts: Bob Calhoun and Greg Franklin Audio editing: Cory Sklar

Slapping a police officer is rarely a great idea, but it somewhat revived the career of actress and Hollywood personality Zsa Zsa Gabor, whose trial began amidst a media blitz on 14th June, 1989.  After being pulled over in her $214,000 Rolls Royce convertible, she had assaulted officer Paul Kramer - who then charged her with driving with an open flask of Jack Daniels, and speeding off after being apprehended.  In this episode, Arion, Rebecca and Olly revisit Gabor's greatest one-liners, on film and in court; consider how “Stalin, Mussolini and Hitler” ended up being invoked against a motorcycle cop; and reveal how Gabor was spared “the lesbians” in jail…  Further Reading: • ‘Remember When Zsa Zsa Gabor Slapped a Motorcycle Cop Across the Face?'
