She debuted with Virginia Opera, reprising Yum-Yum, in The Mikado, and returned to New York City Opera in 2010 for performances as Laoula in L'Etoile following her performances in Cendrillon, in 2007, where Variety wrote of her debut, “As the Fairy Godmother, coloratura soprano Katherine Jolly, delights with her endlessly flowing trills, runs and roulades.” Dr. Jolly received the Doctor of Musical Arts and Master of Music degrees from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Barbara Honn and Thomas Baresel. As certified yoga teacher with research background in music performance anxiety, she has presented workshops on yoga, singing, and performance anxiety at the Voice Foundation Symposium, Performing Arts Medical Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, and is a frequent guest clinician with organizations including Schmidt Vocal Arts, Opera Theatre Saint Louis's Spring Training program, NATS, and Arts Bridge. Dennis Garnhum was hired as the Artistic Director of the Grand Theatre in 2016; a move that was a coming home for Dennis. Growing up in London, his theatre career began at the Grand with a role in Antler River at age 13. Since his return to London, Dennis has created several new programs: COMPASS New Play Development Program, 100 Schools educational outreach, and 1000 Seats community initiative. He also launched a new partnership with Sheridan College's Canadian Music Theatre Program that partners with the Grand's High School Project. Dennis' career has taken him across North America, directing plays, musicals, and operas at a number of companies including Vancouver Opera, National Arts Centre, Shaw Festival, Stratford Festival, Tarragon Theatre, Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, Florida Grand Opera, American Conservancy Theatre (A.C.T.), Bard on the Beach, Pacific Opera Victoria, Belfry Theatre, and Neptune Theatre. Kirsten is a soprano who joined the Metropolitan Opera first as a cover of Isolde in Tristan und Isolde and then, this past season, for Die Walküre. Kirsten is known especially for her portrayal of the title role of Salome, which she’s sung not only at the Metropolitan Opera but at the Opera Hong Kong and the Florida Grand Opera as well. Keith Chambers is the founder, artistic director, and principal conductor of New Amsterdam Opera. He has conducted hundreds of performances of nearly fifty operas, for dozens of companies throughout North America and Europe, and he conducts himself daily as Kirsten’s husband. Grammy Winning Baritone John Brancy‘s intense musicality and communicative power place him among the finest of baritones of his generation. Hailed by the New York Times as “a vibrant, resonant presence,” Brancy won First Prize in the Art Song Division of the 2018 Concours Musical International de Montreal. A win that recognized him as a premiere interpreter of Art Song repertoire in our time. The New Jersey native also won First Prize in the 2018 Lotte Lenya Competition in New York, Second Prize at the 2017 Wigmore Hall Competition in London and prior to that won the media prize in the 2017 Belvedere International Singing Competition in Moscow and first prize in the Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition in 2015. He is also a past winner of the Marilyn Horne Song Competition and the Sullivan Foundation Grand Prize. Brancy recently debuted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic (Meredith Monk’s Atlas) and San Francisco Opera (Billy Budd) and looks forward to premiering a new work by Michael Gandolfi with the Boston Symphony which will also mark Brancy’s debut at Tanglewood. Also on his 19/20 schedule are performances of Messiah for the US Naval Academy and the Florida Orchestra, Jonathan Dove’s Flight for Pacific Opera Victoria, Rameau’s Platee for his Des Moines Metro Opera debut, Brahms’ Deutsches Requiem for Opera National de Bordeaux and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria with the Rundfunkchor of Berlin. He has also been engaged by Semperoper Dresden, Paris’s Théâtre du Chatelet, Florida Grand Opera, The Carmel Bach Festival, San Francisco Symphony, Oper Frankfurt, Opera de Lorraine, Carnegie Hall, the Oratorio Society and Musica Sacra in New York. As a performer, Karlyn has a passion for solo, chamber, and orchestral music, with a particular interest in contemporary music. Karlyn has an active freelance career in South Florida, performing regularly with the Palm Beach Symphony and Florida Grand Opera.Dr. Viña serves on the faculty of Florida International University, Miami Music Project, Westminster Christian School, Ransom Everglades School, Florida Christian School, and South Florida Youth Symphony. Additionally, she maintains a busy private studio in Miami, teaching concert percussion, keyboard percussion, timpani, and drum set. In addition to her teaching, Karlyn serves on the Percussive Arts Society's Education Committee.Karlyn earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance from the University of Miami as a fellow of the Henry Mancini Institute. Her dissertation focuses on the performance of works for theatrical percussion. Now she's cheating on Strauss with Schönberg and Wagner, teaching masterclasses around the world, and starting a new singer's-only project: Singers Anonymous. Elise started at Barrington High School wanting to be an actor but soon found her love of back stage. In repertoire encompassing George Frideric Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto to Jonathan Dove’s Flight and beyond, countertenor John Holiday’s expressive and richly beautiful voice has made him an increasingly sought after artist, possessing a “vocal instrument that threatens to equal the name artists in his range.” (Herald Times) Mr. Holiday is the recipient of the Marian Anderson Award from The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Washington National Opera. As an advocate of new works, John Holiday will make his debut with Opera Philadelphia singing the role of John Blue in a world-premiere of Daniel Roumain's We Shall Not Be Moved, a production directed by the award-winning Bill T. Jones that will also be seen at the Apollo Theater in New York and Hackney Empire in London. Also in the 2017-2018 season, Mr. Holiday will debut at Florida Grand Opera as Orfeo in Gluck’s Orfeo ed Euridice and his debut in Flight as the Refugee at Des Moines Metro Opera.

During her second year as a member of the resident artist company, Jouvanca Jean-Baptiste performs the roles of Nedda (Pagliacci), Violetta (La traviata) and Marguerite (Faust.) The Haitian-born soprano joined OSJ's resident company during the 2010 – 2011 season, debuting in the title roles of Anna Karenina and Tosca and as Mimì in La bohème.Ms. Jean-Baptiste recently made her mainstage debut with Florida Grand Opera in the role of The Abbess in Suor Angelica. Previously, she sang with West Bay Opera, understudying the role of Cio-cio-san in Madama Butterfly. Other roles in the soprano's repertoire include Suor Angelica (Suor Angelica), Mother (Amahl and the Night Visitors) and Miss Rose (Lakmé). Oneika Phillips (Sandra U/S, Ensemble) From Grenada, West Indies, Oneika holds dual degrees in Dance Performance and Business Management from Shenandoah University, Virginia. Soprano Sarah Coburn opens the 2011 Washington National Opera season in the title role of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor. Ms. Coburn drops in on Patrick D. McCoy-The African-American Voice in Classical Music on THE OPERA DIVA SERIES. Past guests have included: Christine Brewer, Carmen Balthrop, Nicole Cabell and Angela Brown. Sarah Coburn’s engagements in the 2010-11 season include Gilda in Rigoletto with Los Angeles Opera and L’Opéra de Montréal, Amina in La Sonnambula with the Wiener Staatsoper, Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia with Seattle Opera, Handel’s L’Allegro with the Mark Morris Dance Group and the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, a recital at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C., and a return to Cincinnati Opera in the summer of 2011 as Gilda in Rigoletto. Engagements in the 2009-10 season included Asteria in Tamerlano and Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia, both with Los Angeles Opera; also Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia for Florida Grand Opera; the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor with Tulsa Opera; Gilda in Rigoletto with Welsh National Opera; performing in recital for Oklahoma State University's Allied Arts series, and singing as featured artist in an evening of bel canto arias with both the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra.
