While technically cleaner and more modern, the new mixes raise a big question: What happens when you remaster or remix a nostalgic album? Do you risk losing the magic that made it timeless? This is more than just a critique of a remix — it's a deep conversation about emotion vs. clarity, client intent, nostalgia bias, and how sometimes, chasing perfection can kill the very thing people loved in the first place.Whether you're a die-hard fan, a professional engineer, or someone who's been burned by a remix of your favorite record, this episode is for you.

If you've ever struggled with people-pleasing, underpricing, or working on tracks that don't meet your standards, this episode is for you.SUBSCRIBE TO OUR PATREON FOR EXCLUSIVE CONTENT!SUBSCRIBE TO YOUTUBEJoin the ‘Mixing Music Podcast' Discord!HIRE DEE KEIHIRE LUFind Dee Kei and Lu on Social Media:Instagram: @DeeKeiMixes @MasteredbyLuTwitter: @DeeKeiMixes @MasteredbyLuThe Mixing Music Podcast is sponsored by Izotope, Antares (Auto Tune), Sweetwater, Plugin Boutique, Lauten Audio, Filepass, & CanvaThe Mixing Music Podcast is a video and audio series on the art of music production and post-production. Austin duo Slept All Day may be new on the scene, but don't sleep on them. Together, the two create moving soundscapes a la Bonobo and Washed Out. The Magic Spark

In this episode, I give you all the goods on Dark Goddess Hekate! This is my masterclass, that was only just made available to my magical mentees last month, September 2024. In this episode you'll find A condensed exploration of her energy and how I channel and offer work with her. The idea that is no right way to be a witch, and spirituality is an infinite spectrum. A baseline and container for understanding Hekate and working with her. Who is Hekate? Greek Goddess of magic, spells, curses, crossroads, night, the moon, necromancy, ghosts, the dead, the Underworld, and the liminal space. Originally a goddess of home protection, wilderness, and childbirth. Mother of all witches, including Circe. A tough love mother who pushes us to grow, evolve, and make good decisions. Known as the doula of liminal spaces, lighting the path and providing guidance. The original dark goddess who teaches us to embrace the shadows and our deepest selves. Hekate's History and Attributes Originally a Turkish sun goddess, later adopted by the Greeks. Daughter of the Titan Perses and the nymph Asteria, or Zeus and Demeter. Known as Kleidocuse, keeper of the keys. Teaches us the importance of silence and self-discovery. Emphasizes that we are the magic and the spell. Concerned with generating better humans and making wise decisions. Offers a "holy hell yes" or "fuck no" approach to life. Teaches us to alchemize grief and loss into wisdom. Governs the dead and assists souls in transition. Has counterparts in Hindu, Slavic, and Slavic Paganism. Her season is Autumn, the shadow season. The new moon belongs to Hekate. Her day is November 16th, Night of Hekate. Her elements are water, earth, and the cosmic heavens. Her numbers are 4 and 10. Dark goddesses call us to reclaim our full spectrum of ourselves and challenge societal norms. Hekate's imbalance is retribution and revenge, while her balance is self-empowerment. Hekate's Symbols and Offerings Symbols: keys, lanterns, torches, black dogs, black cats, the Triple Moon, new moon, doorways, gateways, paths, the pentagram, oak, snakes, horseheads, yew, aconite, yarrow, traditional witch gear. Offerings: symbols, skulls, caskets, headstones, garlic, coffee, coffee beans, dark chocolate, red wine, lavender, black crystals. Working with Hekate Make consistent offerings before asking for anything. Leave offerings at the nearest crossroads for Hekate. Perform a Deipnon Work with Hekate to heal decision-making, perfectionism, confidence, self-trust, ageism, the Mother Wound, the Witches Wound, wounds of maturing, grief, loneliness, issues around death, ancestral hexes, binds, curses, wayward spirits, haunted spaces, people-pleasing, internalized patriarchy, and internalized misogyny. Hekate's energy might resonate as she/her or they/them. She is a nurturer and protector of the marginalized. Hekate in the Tarot The Hierophant: ushering spirits between the seen and unseen. The Hermit: the liminal space and guidance. Death: endings and new beginnings. The Moon: self-discovery and facing shadows. Queen of Wands: manifestation and daily magic. 4 of Wands: commitment to happiness and foundations. 4 of Pentacles: resources and circulation. 10 of Swords: ending the bullshit and moving forward. 10 of Wands: crossroads and carrying burdens. Mantras Offered by Hekate I am the full spectrum of my parts. I am more protected than I know. I make excellent decisions. I am here to act in integrity. Making bold choices is rewarded. The liminal space is a birth canal of creativity and empowerment. I get comfortable in the uncomfortable. I will know the empowered choice to make, when it's time. There's no right way to be a witch. Age offers wisdom. I am the past, present, and future all at the same time. Conclusion Hekate is a powerful and transformative goddess who can guide us on our journeys. By understanding her energy and working with her, we can unlock our highest potential and embrace our true selves. Vaya pues mija y ayude a esa ….
