Brené meets him there and drops the gut-punch research: fitting in is a constant scan of the room, deciding who to become so you won't be left out, and the price is betrayal. You can feel the tension in the paradox she names, wanting connection while quietly disappearing inside it, and the harsh truth that it's not sustainable. The practical move is small but ruthless: catch yourself in the “Who do I need to be right now?” spiral and replace it with “Who am I, even if it's awkward?” Choose one place this week to stop performing, even in a tiny way, like saying what you actually think or not laughing at the joke that makes someone smaller. Belonging everywhere starts when you can walk into any room and not abandon yourself just to be liked, because real freedom is being able to stand alone without feeling lonely.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. Leave an Amazon Rating or Review for my New York Times Bestselling book, Make Money Easy!Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1470Mikaela Shiffrin won almost every race by over two seconds in her breakthrough season. The next year, when she won by six tenths of a second, people said she was getting slow. The victory itself wasn't questioned, but suddenly winning alone wasn't good enough. She had to win by more. This shift created something she'd never experienced before: performance anxiety so severe she was vomiting at the start of almost every race. Not from fear of losing, but from fear of the disappointment that came with not exceeding expectations that had become completely unrealistic. Even people closest to her would say things like "it'd be so great if you could just stomp on this race." She knew the expectations weren't realistic, but she didn't know how to explain that. So she raced anyway, and people took four to five years to catch up to the fact that her early dominance was a moment in time, not a permanent standard. The breakthrough came from recognizing that exhaustion isn't weakness. After winning her 85th World Cup victory, everyone assumed number 86 the next day was a done deal. But she'd raced seven times in ten days across Europe. She was mentally and emotionally disconnected, not because she lacked skill or drive, but because she was human and tired. Sometimes you just need one recovery day. She's learned to recognize when expectations are unrealistic, when media questions are trying to insinuate feelings rather than ask honestly, and most importantly, that people will eventually catch up. Excellence doesn't mean you have to exceed impossible standards every single time. Sometimes winning by six tenths is still extraordinary, even if two seconds was once possible.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. In this raw and transformative solo episode, host Lira Ndifon peels back the layers of self-doubt to reveal the five psychological barriers that keep us from showing up in our full power. This isn't your typical "fake it 'til you make it" advice. Lira digs deep into the root causes of insecurity, exploring how our survival instincts, past criticisms, and unhealed inner child wounds create a ceiling on our potential. She shares her own vulnerable journey through depression and identity loss, proving that confidence isn't a personality trait—it's a skill built through healing. In this episode, you will discover:The Survival Trap: Why your brain is wired to fear judgment and how to override the instinct to hide. The Comparison Curse: The crucial difference between admiration and envy, and how to stop measuring your "Chapter 1" against someone else's "Chapter 20."The Money Myth: Lira exposes the 6th hidden barrier—financial shame. About Jazzmarr FergusonJazzmarr Ferguson is a Louisville-born pro basketball player whose 15-year career has taken him across Italy, France, Australia, and now the Middle East. On the court, he's known for leadership, resilience, and a team-first mindset. Off the court, he's the founder of Reps with Jazz, a mentorship and coaching platform that helps student-athletes, young leaders, and executives build confidence, discipline, and clarity.Raised in a tough inner-city environment and a self-described late bloomer, Jazz outworked his peers, turning daily habits into an edge that powered championships, sponsorships, and a reputation as a mentor to younger players. Today, he speaks in schools, runs workshops, and coaches clients on mindset, focus, and sustainable habits that translate to wins in sport and life.About this EpisodeHost Hilmarie Hutchison talks with Jazzmarr about how discipline and purpose shaped his journey from Louisville to international basketball, and how that same mindset fuels Reps with Jazz. He shares defining career moments, why “reps remove all doubt,” the difference between coaching teens and adults, and practical ways to beat comparison, improve focus, and turn habits into confidence. He also outlines his plans to expand workshops and keynotes across the Middle East and beyond.Quotes1:42 - Basketball was always an outlet for me to go in the opposite direction of the environment that I grew up in. I wasn't a great player, but I always was in love with the game, and it gave me the ability to really focus on something and give it all of my attention to get out of that environment that I was growing up in. 3:42 - The mindset aspect of that was just becoming obsessed with a work ethic once I saw a little bit of improvement. I wanted to continue to see that growth and development.5:28 - I think with my style of play and who I am as a player with my reputation, playing in the Middle East is a great place for me to kind of go out on my own turns the next three or four years of playing. 6:37 - I was able to really establish myself in my career, gain some sponsorships within the country, and really be able to become the best version of myself as an athlete. 7:57 - When you're an athlete, there's always a moment in your career where you understand that there's going to have to be a transition. 9:54 - I solely kind of realized that this is my mission and this is something that I am going to be great at even better than I am as an athlete. 10:36 - Reps remove all doubt is applicable in every aspect of your life. 10:50 - When you have good habits, you have to continuously apply those good habits to your life when you want to get the results. 11:41 - You have to constantly have a level of sustainability with your habits. 12:12 - I can constantly and consistently have the energy and the desire to do that for people. 14:10 - I try to focus on the growth and development aspect with teenagers and young leaders because I think it's a very, very important aspect to nurture those relationships and help them build those habits. 16:41 - We need people that first of all have the ability to focus and then know how to teach or inspire or persuade people to focus in a way that is useful and effective. 19:44 - I think the influence that I've been able to have in speaking and doing workshops is only going to grow because it's a passion of mine. And the reception that I get from the schools and the students are something that is really, really incomparable.Useful LinksWebsite:The Matrix Green Pill Podcast: https://thematrixgreenpill.com/Please review us: https://g.page/r/CS8IW35GvlraEAI/review

If you've ever doubted your worth despite all your success, or felt that quiet voice inside asking “Who am I really,” this conversation will awaken something deeper. We talk about how ego, trauma, and self-doubt disconnect us from our true power, and how sol work brings us back home to it. Most of us were taught that confidence comes from achievement. The next win, the next cheap validation or the next big title. But what if confidence didn't come from doing more? What if it came from remembering who you already are? In this episode, I sit down with Markus Neukom, a Swiss transformational guide and leadership mentor, to explore how deep Sol work builds the kind of confidence that can't be shaken by circumstance. Markus shares his wisdom on ego, imposter syndrome, and soul-led leadership, where your power no longer depends on what you achieve, but on how deeply you know yourself.
Everyone that you think has natural confidence actually had to build it, and you can too. There's no such thing as waiting for the perfect moment, the perfect time, or until you feel confident enough. The confidence you're looking for comes from the work you're avoiding; it's built in action. It's time to discover how to overcome the obstacles to building confidence, the myths about being confident, and the practical ways you can start building confidence today. Do the thing you want to do, even if you're nervous, and watch your confidence compound over time. In this episode, you will learn about: My first big step into creating confidence and how it changed my thinking. How confidence is actually a byproduct, not a starting point. How my confidence has grown over the last year and what that's meant for me. The first step in creating greater confidence in your life. Common roadblocks to confidence that keep women feeling stuck. Why it's okay to start now even if you feel scared and embarrassed. A practical and realistic tip for building more confidence today. How to create a confidence evidence log and why it works. They don't wait." – Lewis HowesLewis gets raw and real in this solo episode, digging into the micro-habits that silently shape how the world sees you—and how you see yourself. Drawing from neuroscience and lived experience, he lays out exactly how eye contact, body posture, and the tone of your voice directly influence your confidence. It's not about faking it or trying to impress others—it's about rewiring your brain through small, repeatable actions that tell your nervous system: “I'm safe. I've got this.”This isn't a pep talk—it's a challenge. Lewis gives you three specific “confidence reps” to practice today: Hold eye contact. Speak with clarity. Give a genuine compliment. Bonus points if you use the person's name. It sounds simple, but these small acts done with intention are how you develop true, unshakable confidence—not next week, not next year, but right now. Confidence, he reminds us, is built just like a muscle: through repetition, strain, and the willingness to show up again and again.Sign up for the Greatness newsletter: http://www.greatness.com/newsletter Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company.
