Do you love the life your job is allowing? Join Natalie Kraus with Logan Lynch as they chat about her discovery of her love for business and working with other entrepreneurs while learning in the process. Logan is a physical therapist, a cycling instructor, and an online sales coach who chose the path towards entrepreneurship over the healthcare industry. In this episode, she shares how she was able to harness the power of the online community to start an online business. Making the Choice Logan graduated as a physical therapist, and the next thing to do is get into practice. Yet, she chose something that is fulfilling for herself – she wants to do business. Logan did not like the idea of doing what most people do: wait for at least ten years to build up their finances and live comfortably. She did not want to spend ten years on something she was not passionate about in the first place. Logan knows she took Physical Therapy in school, but that is not the career she wanted to build. Taking advice from people who had the experience of what she wanted to do, Logan started learning about it. She also listened to podcasts. There were some doubts from people around her, but Logan shuts their opinion out and only welcomed those supporting her decision.  Mind Over Matter The mindset of being busy has been embedded since childhood as that is what parents are doing. Logan thinks that people always correlate doing something as a form of being productive, and it carries over that the person is hard on themselves. Being busy is always equated to being productive, when in fact, it is counterproductive. It leads to the person hating their job even when they love it, but the truth is they hate the life that their job allows them to live. People define themselves by their job, and it raises the question if they are fulfilled with the life that their job allows them to live. Logan's advice is to change the busy culture and to take time to breathe. Success should not be measured by how busy a person is.  About Logan Lynch… in the words of Logan:  “I am a sales coach for online coaches + service providers to help them make the idea of selling your services not so scary or confusing. I'm also a physical therapy private practice owner, so I have experience and knowledge around sales and marketing for both online businesses and brick and mortar. I love talking all things MONEY, especially when it comes to mindset and behaviors around it. In my free time I love to go to live concerts, preferably at the Red Rocks in Colorado, and go boating on the Mississippi.” Logan also hosts The Saucy Sales Show podcast, where she brings you HOT & SAUCY new topics to help entrepreneurs learn to LOVE sales instead of dreading it every day. Outline of the Episode: [05:20] What the experience was like to take the leadership role of being an instructor. [06:58] How Logan decided to start a business right after graduating from PT school. [11:28] Creating the confidence Logan needed to commit to her path. [16:40] Logan's advice to people who are unsure of the direction they want to take.  [21:59] How to keep the mind in the right spot and balance things. [26:49] Why people are so hard on themselves, as explained by Logan. [36:03] Insights on the hustle Logan does to build her business. [44:16] Limiting beliefs about sales. A successful, thriving real estate team rests on 6 pillars - culture, lead generation, lead conversion, accountability, systems and strategy. As a team leader, we have to refine and stabilize these aspects so the operation runs like a well-oiled machine. This is what will allow us to step out of production, focus on the high-level leadership, and diversify the revenue streams in our business. My guest today has built a thriving real estate team through investing in the right systems and the right coaching. What are the biggest lessons he’s learned along the way? Why did he choose to get out of production in order to protect his team’s culture? In this episode, CEO of Montreal’s Elite RE Group and director of Sales & Coaching at Elite Real Estate Systems, Logan Boyce talks about his leadership journey. Three Things You’ll Learn In This Episode How to effectively build without spreading ourselves too thinWe can’t implement every system all at once. Every pillar of building a successful team has to be implemented methodically and with purpose. We have to implement one system and master it before we move to the next one. Why staying in production can harm our cultureStaying in production as a team leader is a recipe for disaster when it comes to our team culture and morale. It can end up dividing our team and creating a sense of competition and rivalry between us and our agents. How Logan stabilized his businessIf we want to build a business that can make it through different market conditions, we have to create multiple streams of revenue and make them as passive as possible.Guest Bio-Logan Boyce is an entrepreneur, founder and CEO of Montreal’s Elite RE Group, President of Flip Your City, and director of Sales & Coach at Elite Real Estate Systems. Today’s episode features Logan Christopher, strongman, author, owner of Legendary Strength and CEO of Lost Empire Herbs.  Logan previously appeared on episode 111 where he discussed mental training in depth, including the utilization of hypnosis and mental anchors. Alongside his athletic and business pursuits, Logan has also written several books including “Mental Muscle” and “Powered by Nature”, both of which I have found impactful reads.  Logan is a master of using the natural machinery of the body and our environment to help us reach our highest potential as humans. I wanted to get Logan back on the show for a few reasons.  One was that he lives only an hour and a half away from me in Santa Cruz, and I knew that it would be a blast to train with him prior to recording the show.  Secondly, I had took some inspiration from my past show with Logan and started using his mental training hypnosis tracks prior to my training sessions, along with using his herbs, primarily his “Phoenix” formula (containing herbs such as Ant Extract and Pine Pollen) as well as an adaptogenic mushroom tincture I put in my morning coffee.  The results, were profound.  Although I don’t like to pin training gains on one thing only, I managed to jump higher that year at age 35 than I had in the last 5 years.  My training and overall strength had found rapid improvement, and I knew there was something special to this process.  Finally, I had been reading Logan’s articles around the time I started using his herbs and came across a drawing he referred to as the “Pyramid of Strength” (see show notes), and with everything I head learned about training the last few years, this made perfect sense to me, so I wanted to explore it in depth. On today’s show, we cover just that, the Pyramid of strength, and get Logan’s take on each layer (Mental, Training, Sleep, Diet,Herbs/ Supplements, Spiritual) of what makes us thrive as athletes and human beings. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more.   Key Points How awkward objects and kettlebells can add value to a training sessions The layout and inspiration behind Logan’s “Pyramid of Strength” How mental state in the gym and training filters over into one’s sport How Logan approaches sleep and recovery in his own training An overview of performance herbalism and how herbalism differs from chemically driven supplements The drawbacks of typical chemical pre-workouts and herbal alternatives to these The primary herbs to look at for athletic performance Logan’s coffee additives (or replacement) for a more natural energy source Quotes “For most guys the color pink is actually going to weaken them” “Every single (training) system out there is a limited collection of movements and if we are looking at health, all around athleticism, the more different movements you’ll do, the better off you’ll be” “We are thinking and feeling beings; that involves everything we are doing.  There is often a cursory acknowledgement of mental aspects of training, but there often isn’t a dialing into that and a mental understanding” “For performance, diet is not the most important thing, because how many Olympic athletes are eating Cheetos and crap food?  Most of these athletes are younger guys, so there is a period you can do that, but if you want long term performance, that is not a sustainable thing” “I would say that everyone is visualizing before an exercise, but they may not be aware of it, period” “Often, people think of just getting to this ideal technique, but there are layers and layers of improving your internal technique and how you are talking to yourself, things that are going on inside, and that’s still all technique as well” “Music is used to control state, and it’s a very effective method for doing so”

Good deals are so hard to find right now! That’s become a common complaint among real estate investors in recent months, but I’m not convinced it’s true. In fact, if you’re willing to hustle and approach brokers with a service-first mindset, it’s fairly easy to find off-market multifamily deals. Logan Freeman is a commercial real estate agent, investor, developer and capital raiser. He is also the founder of LiveFree Investments, a Kansas City firm specializing in joint ventures and equity partnerships that provides strong returns on capital from secure investments. Logan got his start in real estate doing a live-in flip back in 2013, and since then, he has completed 80-plus transactions and earns $13M for his investors annually. Today, Logan joins me to explain why he was dreaming about real estate—even as he was being drafted for the NFL! He discusses the niche he has developed representing buyers and building his own portfolio, describing how he builds credibility with brokers by solving problems and adding value. If you love the West and you love art, then you are likely already a fan of Logan Maxwell Hagege. He is a renowned painter whose depictions of the people and landscapes of the West have won him acclaim around the globe. His work is as stunning as it is unique, and when you see one of Logan’s pieces, there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind as to exactly who painted it. He uses bold colors and striking composition to create a style that is entirely his own-- a style that continues to evolve, even after all of his success. Logan was born and raised in California, and he has been an obsessive artist for as long as he can remember. Whether drawing, playing music, surfing, or painting, Logan has always gone “all in” on his creative pursuits. And as you’ll hear, Logan’s tendency towards obsession is fueled by a tireless work ethic and deep commitment to continuing to grow as an artist-- he is always pushing himself and refuses to rest on his laurels. That’s not to say that Logan doesn’t suffer from artistic blocks from time to time. But when he does, rather than wallow, he’s developed hard-nosed, time-tested methods of summoning creativity and continuing to push forward. I’ve been a fan of Logan’s for many years, so I was thrilled to get the opportunity to chat with him. We covered a lot, including his childhood creative obsessions and how his parents nurtured his artistic streak. We talk about his formal art education, and how he made the jump from art student to professional artist. Logan describes the evolution of his work, and how his early paintings are almost unrecognizable when compared to his current style. We chat about how he maintains focus after so many years of professional art, and he describes specific ways that he pushes himself to continue to evolve as an artist. He explains how he knows when a painting is finished, and how having a son has changed his routine and outlook. And as usual, we discuss favorite books, films, and the best advice he’s ever received. “I like to see that what you do in the gym as lab for the rest of your life.” Today’s guest was not naturally athletic. As a teenager, he was thin - scrawny even. Not the pillar of strength looking back at me through Zoom. But such is the power of goals. After reading the biography of a strongman, Logan wanted to perform at a super high level too. He wanted to accomplish feats of strength that most people could only dream about! And that’s been his focus since the age of 18 - with incredible results. That’s because just like the strongman who inspired him to step up, Logan can also pull an antique fire truck with his hair! So check out this episode and discover how he did it. But fair warning! Discussing what it takes to build strength on this scale only scratches the surface of what we spoke about... “Look at what is good for you but in a multi-level type of way… What’s good for you today, a week from now, a month from now, a year from now, a decade from now, or over the course of your lifetime. If you can have real alignment in those as far as your purpose, then you’re going to basically achieve that purpose or great things. ” You see, Logan has had one heck of a story! From intense loneliness at school, to losing his mom to cancer, to being called by nature to write a book, this conversation went on twists and turns I didn’t expect. Although Logan’s ‘home base’ is strength training, his life is far from one-dimensional. Instead, Logan’s curiosity and desire to learn and make an impact has taken him down many paths. From NLP training to an ayahuasca experience in the Amazon jungle, Logan is constantly pushing his boundaries through knowledge so he can uplevel all areas of his life. He’s a person driven by a holistic approach to life - passionate to reconnect with nature through the power of herbs. It’s one of the many things that makes Logan so fascinating. So buckle up and listen in. This is one incredible conversation that’s guaranteed to take you to places you didn’t expect. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. “Struggle and stress are good things when done in the right amount.” Some questions I ask: Why strength training and how has your passion grown the more you’ve done it? [0:49]How did you prime yourself to pull an antique fire truck with your hair? [3:20]What got you interested in strength training? [6:00]How do you discover your home base or ‘core’ so you can develop the curiosity to learn other things? [10:00]If someone hasn’t been through a life changing experience themselves, how can they learn from others so they can create change at will? [14:25]You put yourself through a lot of physical struggle. How does struggle help build the skills and mindsets for a happier life? [15:50]How do you nurture purpose in your life? [17:37]How does change factor into purpose and help you crystalize what you really want? [19:40]Give me an example of how you transformed a difficult moment into something positive. [24:48]Explain your drive to write your book. [32:19]How do you think a healthier body leads to a happier state? [40:37]How do you stay grounded? [45:49] In this episode, you will hear about: The autobiography that inspired Logan to get strong. [2:15]Why it’s not your hair you need to worry about when pulling a truck. [5:23]How Logan turned strength training into a career. [8:23]The impact of losing his mom to cancer. [12:20]The last gift Logan’s mom gave him. [17:12]The importance of knowing what is good for you - from a holistic perspective. [18:20]Why Logan listens to his body and how this makes him adapt from moment to moment. [19:53]Why Logan doesn’t shoot for happiness and what he aims for instead. [23:24]What Logan would go back and tell his 16 year old self. [26:10]Powered By Nature - and Logan’s Amazonian ayahuasca journey. [28.12]The dangers of removing ourselves from nature. [32:35]Logan’s journey with herbs from personal use to a thriving business - and why they’re like a Trojan horse. In today’s episode, Logan reminds us that we not only have to know our strengths, we also have to own them on a daily basis. It’s easier than ever to constantly feel like you’re constantly falling behind, especially when comparing ourselves to others. In these moments, it’s important to notice the fears that are driving us and focus on the ways we can conquer them rather than letting them conquer us. In fact, understanding our fears may be the best place to start when it comes to understanding others. Logan is insistent on creating space to listen to others, regardless of their position relevant to her because she knows that she will always learn something new. This is what makes us stronger people. When we listen and understand, we create possibilities. When we create possibilities, we succeed. Nowadays, he’s known for his famous feats of pulling an 8,800 lb. firetruck by his hair, juggling flaming kettlebells, supporting half a ton in the wrestler’s bridge and more. Logan Bartlett is an investor @ Battery Ventures, where he focuses on growth investments for B2B software companies. He is currently involved in Battery’s investment in Pendo and StreamSets. Before joining Battery, Logan was in investment banking with Spurrier Capital Partners, a boutique merchant bank focused on the technology sector. There, he sourced application-software deals with a focused on the marketing-automation sector as well as sales force automation, human-capital management, work management/collaboration, front-office analytics and data-services companies. Prior to that, Logan served as an investment banking analyst at Deutsche Bank focusing on financial technology.   In Today's Episode You Will Learn: 1.) How Logan made his way into the wonderful world of venture capital? 2.) So as young chap entering the industry, I would love to hear how you have gone abut trying to build your brand and identity? What are the key personal marketing strategies for you? How important do you think the brand of the VC is? How do you address the juxtaposition of branding and marketing yourself and battery? 3.) How does Logan approach the deal sourcing aspect of the job? What is his approach to this vital thesis? 3.) Moving to more financial matters I want to address both the seed end and the later stage end of the market today. So starting with the seed funding environment, in recent years we have seen a massive drop in the cost of company creation in conjunction with a large rise in seed funding,. What is the effect of this for you as a Series A-B investor, potentially located in what some may call the funding gap? 4.) You are very much located in the B2B space, d I am intrigued wht kind of ARR do you look for at the stage you are investing and what price point per customer do you believe allows for that ARR metric to be hit within a reasonably short amount of time? 5.) Moving to the later stages of the market I have seen in a slide of yours from the past that you stated that more institutional investors have made their way into the private markets and startups are staying private longer. You followed up by staying that this is a win win for all? Why do you think that is? Does it not mean later stage VCs are priced out of rounds due to the inflow of public money? Does it not mean later stage startups attain inflated valuation that will only lead to a down round at follow on or IPO?
