With all the talk about Crimson Jack in Skeleton Crew we felt this was a perfect time to share another Classic Marvel Star Wars Comics episode! Issue #108 “Forever Crimson!” (2019), is a special continuation of Issue #50 “The Crimson Forever” (1981). This was part of Marvel's 80th Anniversary celebration in 2019 where they added this issue 33 years after the classic Star Wars series ended in 1986.    Richard and Sarah break down “Forever Crimson!” - it's story, artwork, and the HUGE amount of Star Wars EU Easter eggs! Jaxxon and Amaiza are back! Valance the Hunter and Domina Tagge make an appearance. This comic even references vornskr and the witches of Dathomir. Could there be more references to pop culture in this comic than SKELETON CREW?? Let's find out.   We recommend watching the video version (above) of this episode which contains the full comic as we page through it.   #108 “FOREVER CRIMSON"   Release Date: May 29, 2019 Writer: Matthew Rosenberg Artwork: Giuseppe Camuncoli, Andrea Broccardo, Kerry Gammill, Ze Carlos, Jan Duursema, Stefano Landini, Luke Ross, Cam Smith, Chris Sotomayer, and Leonard Kirk Cover Art:  Walt Simonson and Antonio Fabela   The cosmic civil war is over! The Empire has fallen. The tyrannical Dark Lords of the Sith who ruled the galaxy, Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader, are destroyed, and the heroic Rebel Alliance has restored freedom to the star systems with the formation of the New Republic.   But a long-forgotten threat, one more terrible than even the Sith, is still out there in the wilds of deep space, and its return could annihilate all life in the galaxy! Once again, only the freedom fighters Princess Leia Organa, Luke Skywalker and Han Solo can hope to stand against the forces of evil. This is their story!   We take our Facebook Group Comments on the cover into account as we analyze this issue. The Dick Grayson & Barbara Gordon will-they/won't-they relationship ends here, and it only took another DC Crisis, sorry, we meant Convergence to make it happen. This week concludes our series on Dick & Babs by tackling the two-issue "Birds of Rage" mini-series written by Gail Simone. These conversations were a typical whirlwind of emotions, but we can happily report that we're leaving them as passionate fans of Dick & Babs romance.  Nightwing & Oracle are left to defend their Gotham City from two encroaching Thanagarian warlords. Still, if they're to have any chance at defeating the enemy, the two lovers have to come together once and for all. There is nothing like a multiverse to make our dreams come true. Issues covered in this episode: "Convergence: Nightwing/Oracle 1 - 2, written by Gail Simone, penciled by Jan Duursema, inked by Dan Parsons, colored by Wes Dzioba, and lettered by Carlos M. Mangual. Featuring covers by Jill Thompson. Be sure to follow the podcast on Instagram and Twitter @CBCCPodcast, and you can follow hosts Brad Gullickson @MouthDork & Lisa Gullickson @sidewalksiren. I return to the well of "Star Wars" comics yet again with my thoughts on why the John Ostrander-scripted series is one of the best. Correction to the Podcast:  According to Wikipedia, artist Jan Duursema is NOT married to Ostrander, but actually to his frequent collaborator Tom Mandrake.  Which probably explains how they got to know each other in the first place.
