What do you get when you mix a multi-passionate person with a bit of boredom? Coach, speaker, and businesswoman Jill Salzman. The founder of Founding Moms likes a challenge: “Can I make money from something that sounds nuts?” Jill shares with Jeanne why trusting yourself is important; why telling everyone your mistakes helps you grow; why slowing down can reap multi-faceted rewards; how she ended up starting, growing, and selling three seemingly unrelated businesses; and why you don't always need an “expert” for your business. Jill Salzman turns the mundane into inspiration and transforms the impossible into the achievable. Through defying expectations and breaking the rules, she succeeds in inspiring entrepreneurs to figure out what works for them by using meaningful action to create positive results. Jill is the author of The Best Business Book In The World* (*According To My Mom) and the Amazon best-seller, Found It: A Field Guide for Mom Entrepreneurs. She's shared the speaker stage with Richard Branson, Sheryl Sandberg, Daymond John, Marilu Henner, and Desmond Tutu among others, and professed her love of Eddie Vedder in her TEDx talk on 11/11/11. She hosted the top-rated entertaining business podcasts, Breaking Down Your Business, and then Why Are We Shouting?, a question she asks herself daily.CNNMoney called her a “mogul.” MSN Live said she's a “Cool Entrepreneur We Love.” Forbes rated her a Top 100 Champion Small Business Influencer and voted her third business, The Founding Moms, one of the Top 10 Websites For Entrepreneurs. In this episode, we talk about: Brian's experience watching his dad struggle with a home repair in the face of a layoff was motivation to focus on his finances. We talked about the comfort and consistency corporate life can offer and how he saw so many corporate professionals stagnating and just operating in a continuous loop. Brian talked about how the transition from employee to entrepreneur was a little smoother since he had been doing it as a side hustle for a few years prior. He talks about how the climb was not always easy. There were times of self doubt, loneliness and sacrifices that sometimes made him question if it was worth it. Have you been considering starting your own community? In today's episode, Jill Salzman, Founder of The Founding Moms, shares tips for creating a community and establishing a fanbase.    Community building is a great way to grow your business. In a community, you can gather like-minded individuals with similar interests and goals who, if you do it properly, will support everything you do. When starting a community, there are a few things you need to consider. Make sure you are providing original content for your members to consume, engage with your members and show them lots of validation and love, and figure out a way to market your community to people who are outside of it. Even if you decide you don't want to start your own community, it can be very beneficial to join a pre-existing community in your chosen niche.   Tune into this week's episode of Powerful Marketing Tips for a conversation about how building a community can help you to grow your business and personal brand. Learn about the best ways to go about marketing your community to bring in new members.    Quotes • “I didn't intend to create a community, but I think I've loved community for a long time.” (5:16-5:23) • “I can't tell you how much I love growing a community, running a community, and in doing that I am a part of the community. I have learned since there is literally no better way to build a business.” (7:58-8:13) • “The more consistency you have and the more you deliver and delight, the more people will feel that from you and it will feel genuine.” (11:32-11:41)  • “What can they gain or benefit from your community that they can't find anywhere else?” (21:31-21:35) • “The way you cultivate the fanbase is literally making sure you delight your members. Not over-providing with resources, but you're over-providing with love and care and things that are very emotional. In a community setting, as the organizer, you have to give more love.” (27:21-28:19) • “How do I make sure everyone feels heard, taken care of, and seen? If you can figure out that magical formula where you can meet those, you will be successfully cultivating a legion of people that believe in you…they will do it because they know you mean well by them.” (28:57-29:25)    Links Connect with Jill Salzman: • Website:www.foundingmoms.com • LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/foundingmom/ • Podcast: www.jillsalzman.com/podcast   Get access to our Spotify playlist with all of our guests' favorite songs: • https://powerful-marketers.com/podcast   https://powerful-marketers.com/guest-application/   Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

This week on the High Wire Woman podcast, Rosanna Berardi is talking about community. Her guest, Jill Salzman, is an author and the founder of The Founding Moms. She is also the host of the Why Are We Shouting Podcast. Jill joins Rosanna to share the importance of having a community, and how it helps working High Wire Women in entrepreneurship. You'll hear Rosanna and Jill talk about: Jill started her community by gathering mompreneurs. "I was looking for answers to 'How do you do your marketing when you have a screaming baby? How do you do drop-offs when you're trying to figure out your sales?'" Jill says. Now that meeting has transformed into an online community where members can access a plethora of video courses on entrepreneurship. The typical founding mom faces loneliness and needs a community to bounce ideas off of. She needs people to help her and give her advice. Having other people around who understand what you're going through, and what you're carrying is extremely helpful. It also helps you grow as an entrepreneur. Jill talks about the upcoming events she has for 2022, and the new activities for members that will happen as well.  Rosanna and Jill talk about Jill's webinar in January, and where High Wire Women can go to learn more.  There is no such thing as failure in entrepreneurship. Learn from your mistakes then do better.  As a mompreneur, community is important. You need people around to encourage and support you and that's what Jill Salzman can help you with.   Resources Rosanna Berardi | LinkedIn Rosanna Berardi | Berardi Immigration Law High Wire Woman Jill Salzman | LinkedIn | Twitter Why Are We Shouting Podcast Found It: A Field Guide For Mom Entrepreneurs  The Founding Moms
