Anna Saltzman was nominated as a Beck's Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the court and field. When it comes to high school sports, she tends to think about the memory of playing in front of her community. She works hard on and off the court and field to play at the level she is at right now, and seeing her hard work pay off means a lot. Her teammates and her have the same goal: to be the best versions of themselves as players. When they step out onto the volleyball court or soccer field, they know their community is on their side. Seeing familiar faces in the crowd supporting her team is a feeling she hopes to never forget. Anna competes in volleyball and soccer. She is involved in FFA, FCA, National Honor Society, and Silver Cord. Outside school and sports, she volunteers at the Gilbert Lutheran Church, Food at First, the athletic concession stand, and the AAU Volleyball Organization. Agriculture to Anna is around everyone, it is just a matter of finding it. She grew up in town with only one pet, so she didn't have much experience around the typical "agriculture" until she found her love for it. Agriculture became a large focus point for her very quickly, as she wanted to go to work with her father every day. This made agriculture all the more important to her, and she hoped to better food security, sustainability, and conservation for animals in her future path. Anna plans to attend Iowa State University in the fall and major in agricultural studies. She plans on emphasizing in animal science, ag sales, and ag communications. With that degree, she hopes to secure a job in the animal vaccine sales industry with a focus in livestock.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Hi everyone! Welcome back to another episode of The Chai on Life Podcast. I'm Alex Segal, and today we have Rebekah Saltzman on the show. Rebekah is an organizing wizard who is going to help all of us get into the decluttering and organization mindset today.Rebekah holds a degree in fashion design from Parsons School of Design, and for many years worked as a graphic designer. Rebekah's passion for the environment and helping people improve their lives drove her to change careers and create her brand, Balagan Be Gone.Rebekah's straightforward approach to managing “stuff” and her no-nonsense ability to get to the heart of what is important combines with her people skills to help people take control of their lives through organization. She is the author of Organized Jewish Life and the podcast host of Journey to Organization (linked here!)In the episode, we speak about organization and decluttering from a mindset approach as well as a practical one. I love what she says when it comes to clearing out your space to make room for shefa and abundance to flow into your life. We speak about getting rid of the “just incase” mindset and what our relationship with Hashem has to do with decluttering. We also get to tachlis questions like what to do with the plethora of kids projects and toys that may come into your home, whether to involve kids in the process or not and how to do so, what to do if you're feeling overwhelmed at getting started and how to break free of that, what to do with seasonal items in your home and soooo much more. Also, I hate to bring up Pesach – and don't worry we have time! But it is coming and while you certainly do not have to declutter and organize your whole house for Pesach, there is something about this time of year with spring coming that makes you want to feel lighter, clean things out, and just get control of everything after a long winter where things may have built up. There is the phrase, spring cleaning, after all. So Rebekah has a special program called Painless Pesach which is a 36-day decluttering challenge that starts on February 23 (That is next Sunday) and just $36, so a dollar a day.The program is really smart because it's broken down into really small steps so every day of the 36-day challenge, you'll get a video prompt in your inbox with something to do that takes just 15-30 minutes per day. There is live support via WhatsApp and Facebook and a workbook included so you can track your progress. By the end of the 36-day challenge, your whole house will be decluttered and you will just arrive at the seder table feeling like a lighter, clearer version of yourself and what could be better than that? Nobody ever has their sh*t together, it's a myth. Even so, life is a miracle. It can be so easy to overlook this fact - and miss the incredible fact of existence. But life is also full of pain and suffering. If we can make peace with how life really is - rather than how we think it should be - then perhaps we can start to relax and let go of the incessant striving and quest to 'become' sometime in the future. We can find peace in this moment, even in the midst of life's myriad of challenges. My guest is Dr. Robert Saltzman, author of the excellent books The Ten Thousand Things and Depending on No Thing. Elizabeth Saltzman is the woman behind the impeccable style of some of Hollywood's most talented ladies. Think Saoirse Ronan, Jodie Comer, Sandra Oh, and Gwyneth Paltrow. However, Saltzman initially wanted to pursue architecture and became involved in the Downtown New York nightclub and art scenes. But, unable to avoid her fashion destiny for long, she took a retail job at the Madonna- and David Bowie–approved fashion destination Parachute. From there, she was recruited to work at Giorgio Armani, where she worked her way up from the stockroom to the public relations department. After a few years, she made yet another pivot into editorial work, quickly becoming a senior fashion editor at Vogue and then fashion director at Vanity Fair. After spending 20 years at some of the most iconic publications and labels in fashion, industry experts suggested she try applying her impressive fashion eye to styling—and her friend Gwyneth Paltrow just so happened to be looking for a stylist. The two teamed up to create stunning look after stunning look, and the rest is fashion history.
